Ok. "Bucks" is usually USD.
I love the phone, so 200 EUR for a brand new phone sold by a store seems as an OK price to me. You get 2 years of warranty if you live in an EU country.

Over 200 bucks? Nah. I would say the price for this phone should be around 150. Try to get it used. I got mine used for 170€. It's a very good phone and works flawlessly. It misses some features of even older phones though, such as the night mode filter or a built in firewall. Mine still has a few months of warranty left, when it's over I will root it and then it will be perfect.
Only gripes I have with it:
>no soft touch buttons (like the OnePlus3 despite the bezel being huge), I hate the on screen navbar and on a small screen like this it's even more annoying
>fingerprint reader and power key are the same and the phone doesn't have double tap to wake, this means you have to do some finger wizardry every time to just turn on the screen without also unlocking every time

If it is a truly compact phone you want with good battery life and a headphone jack then you cannot go wrong here.
But don't expect wonders from the camera.
I have been using LOS 17.1 for a while and it's been running smooth, but now that Havoc OS has been updated I will be switching over to it.

My "recent history" is
SM galaxy s II, i sold a ruined by time one and the second was ruined and could not be resurrected in rice, after I was thrown over board by a pirate. I am not donkey kong, the real one is donekykong123 (already taken name), but the rest is true.
SM note 3 abandoned, just fell for the 100th time and unfortunately this time from the top of the car broke the screen yesterday.
I just found out that both have been supported from you ppl, you are ***** great.
I am not looking to take pics (ok night pics are cool but whatever!), i watch videos, i don't use social but twitter, no what app. I don't like being denied to download an app because I guess my system is not compatible (the android not being up to it usually is the cause), I dnt like at all the finger print, eye scanning and all these data extraction privacy break normalization things.
I want a 12 cm phone with cool shape.
If battery is interchangable and I have 4 RAM (as far as I informed myself) we are on top!
I am really struggling searching for something as I ve become kind of picky, but I also found that producers just make this stuff in serie all the same cost cutting trash forcing people to have phone in their hand and buying one every 1\2 year (I DEEPLY and BEASTLY hate this). Nature comes first than economy or consumerism
Now, sorry for saying this stuff, I am just trying to understand if this now abandoned Sony serie is good, (hard to find) but I saw that Serie x 1 and 5 will be supported (I dnt understand if this is a big problem really for a person that wants to buy something that will use for other 5 years AT LEAST).

I cannot target a good model, I also saw as I like "mil-spec" stuff the ulephone but I saw that it's mostly just "america marketing" (no disprespect) they break anyway fast. I heard that motorola is something to check.
I like Sony since u know "the italians".. "the japanese"... they do it good, and i like the "motto" not for those that care for measure but for quality that this phone has, also because I am donkey kong and I dnt have measure concerns.
Now... I definitely have pockets as everybody else, I hate keeping these sterilizing tools in my pockets and knowing they look like Peace makers and feeling like I have a house in my front or back pocket (where u can also break the screen from I heard) is exactly what I want to avoid to have...
I am a EU south individual and we care a lot about style and also about practicality\pragmatism even if my post doesn't sound like this.

I am also wondering inside my search for the perfect small phone, i don't need a tablet pushed inside my pockets, how can it be an ok buy if the software is abandoned by Sony : as notebookcheck.net/Official-Sony-Android-10-update-roadmap-confirms-that-the-Xperia-XZ1-phones-have-now-been-abandoned

I am the first to support also when all SELL, but look at this too: how can people tell you to buy it anyway? I understand one is buying the hardware, but also somehow the software and the mother house is important when one buys a phone: I remember when buying windows phone, I never made a worse suggestion to a person telling to buy it... it was trash.

Recently sold my Xperia XZ because there was almost no usable custom software and I don't want to be stuck with Google spyware/ outdated stock rom.
Using my old z1 compact again and it's totally fine. - pretty much only using it as music player. I can get over the not so great camera.
XZ1c is quite expensive. Really hard to get nowadays. But it is the only quite recent phone on the market that is not complete trash. Maybe it will get cheaper with time. Then I might buy one. Right now this 6 year old phone is more than enough.

That's nice . The cheapest I could find was some 170 or something. Not acceptable for a relatively old phone in my opinion, considering how cheap they've become.

I have searched the Forums and I have seen this issue addressed but I haven't found any advice that will help in my particular case. I purchased a Nexus One with Froyo 2.2 used off Ebay. I had read reviews, watched videos, checked specs, and thought this was the phone I wanted. I paid $500. It arrived in good condition and at first I thought I had made the right move. It wasn't long before I discovered the Touchscreen issue and started turning up posts validating my concerns. I have found that if I turn, tilt, angle, or otherwise reposition my phone, the touchscreen does eventually work without a reboot. Toggling the power button does not work for me, nor did removing and reseating the battery. Since I did not buy the phone new I have no warranty. It is not clear to me whether or not this can even be repaired - some posts seem to indicate that not all Nexus One phones have this issue - some indicate that all do. I don't know if I've just thrown $500 out the window or if I have some options. I own two businesses and am a heavy phone user. I need a phone that works all the time and I can't afford to miss calls because the slider won't slide. Sadly one of my businesses is failing and eating up every cent of profit from the other, so money is a huge issue for me.
Please don't accuse me of not searching the forums - I have. Regardless, I still do not know what to do. Is this phone fixable? Can someone please direct me?

There are 2 different touch screen issues. Which one are you having?
1) The presses register lower than needed, so you miss the correct point where you wanted to press. Plagues all N1s, seems to be reduced by the newest radio (Korean 5.12) for whatever reason, pressing power button twice (once for sleep and once for wake again) cures it, always.
2) Touch screen becomes completely unresponsive, sometimes screen doesn't turn off or doesn't turn on. It might be the failure that I'm checking right now. Didn't confirm it completely yet, but looks like latest kernels (I tested intersectRaven's 20101025_XXXX one) cure it. Tested with CM6.1.0-RC1 on friend's Nexus that would hang several times a day when using stock FRG83 (I can't test myself, can't bring my Nexus to hang, succeeded only once).
Warranty
I've read on these forums that the 1 year warranty on Nexus One is on the phone not the purchaser, you might want to contact HTC and see if your device is still under warranty. Its a PIA but the turn around time for most people including myself is really quick, here's hoping its less than a year old!!
There aren't any N1s over a year old.
FYI.
I have never had any touchscreen trouble with my N1, I ordered mine during the N1 launch event as soon as the website was up so its a pretty early one.
I've had loads of problem with the capacitive buttons though.
I _have_ had my N1's screen _seem_ unresponsive, but in each case I've been able to connect adb and see that in actual fact the framework was locked in mid-crash (and that's only happened to me maybe 5 times since I've had it, ignoring when I've been running Cyanogenmod nightlies )
Hey, I heard that installing CM6 fixes it for a lot of people, I wouldn't know from experience though, because I installed CM6 before even turning the phone on when I got it =)

Nope. the touchscreen issue is still there but it really does not bother me. It only crops up once in a blue moon.
Make sure your not accidentally touching any part of the screen when you slide to answer. The slide will not register if your palm is touching the glass.
If your CPU is 100% used the same thing can happen.
Paying 93% of the retail cost don't seem like a good deal for a used phone. (its 535+25+tax from google)

In CA, Mine was $580 total - shipped. That's only 86%
Seeing as tax for me within CA was 53 dollars (10% ugh ), total for the "DEV" phone today would have been 613 dollars. A N1 for 500 bucks even is 81%, not 93%
Installing a custom ROM fixed the problem for me. I have never used CM6, but I don't have the problem with either Enomther's or MIUI. I recommend you try both!

$500 is 93% of $535 since you're not playing tax at ebay anyway. Shipping is free from google.

I have been traveling on business and until now have not had a chance to read all your answers and reply. I have the 2nd problem described, that the screen becomes completely responsive. Sometimes it helps to turn the phone from portrait to landscape, but sometimes not. I have to admit that while I thought that turning it off and on again did not work, I am now finding that it does usually fix the problem.
As far as buying it used, I would have preferred to buy it new, but when I tried the Google site announced that Google was no longer selling the phone. Anyplace else I found it new, the price was close to $700.
At any rate, now I have some options to try. I'm not sure how to install a new ROM but I am sure the instructions are here somewhere and I will search for them. When I bought it, it already had Froyo 2.2 installed by the previous owner.
I will also contact HTC with the IMEI number to see if it is still under warranty.
You all have given me such great advice that I have a lot more research to do. I'm exhausted tonight having just returned from my trip but I will be researching and hopefully attempting the ROM update over the weekend. Stay tuned.

As in earlier post, there aren't any N1's over a year old. As long as your water strips and void stickers are intact you should be good.

I had some touchscreen errors before on cyanogenmod 6.1rc1 with their kernel
With intersects ravens kernel (2.6.35.7_AVS-CM_BFS_20101104_2252) it seems fixed
So pretty much I ordered my nexus 7 right when it was announced, and due to a shipping error Google wanted another 8 weeks to get it to me from release so I canceled my order. Being the impatient idiot that I am I went and bought a new one off eBay. I am aware of the screen separation issue and it seems that it is affecting my unit on the left side of the screen. It annoys me a bit but I'll live. But my question is will the screen separation slowly get worse and spread? I haven't found a very clear answer.
I would say yes. Mine was 100% fine when I got it, 11 days ago and now has lift and creaking. Seems not as responsive. Sounds like bad first batch

Hmm I really hope that isn't the case with mine because I don't think I'll be able to get Google to replace it because I bought it from eBay. I haven't noticed much of change with mine from day one, but it'd be nice to hear responses from a few other people so I know how screwed I am hahahaha
And I bet you paid 2x the price with no warranty so it can't be fixed now

Thank you. I'm just not sure if its worth replacing at this time because of how back ordered the tablets are. I'm on vacation so I don't have the ability to talk to google right now I just hope the screen doesn't fall apart on me.

I got 2 defective N7's....returned them. My plan is to wait until the 2nd "batch" with no defects. Maybe in few months, I will try again.
You should probably return and do what I (and many others), are doing. Wait.
My thinking was, I paid $275 for this, and its defective. Did I come looking for a perfect tablet? Yes. Not a defective one. Its really your call, but I can tell you the problem won't get any better.

Mine was just noticeable on day one, within days the screen was visibly moving just by handling the tablet.
So there is every chance it will get worse so I would say get it replaced.
By the same token, there is every chance a replacement will have the same problem and just as much chance that you will get a perfect unit that develops a fault later on.
Suppose it's down to what yo are prepared to put up with.
Personally, if it turned out every unit in the world had a problem I would live with it and just try to find a fix but knowing that there ARE perfeclt good units out there makes it harder to live with.
I'm planning on getting a warranty from squaretrade for the tablet. Mine is fine but just in case something develops down the line I like to have peace of mind

kinda off topic but
my screen started something very strange today..
it has these little lines about 1/2 inch long running up and down it at random locations. It looks kinda like some type of render tearing. When you twist the tablet from side to side they kinda glow then go away. They look off shades of the colors being produced by those pixels.. I just noticed this thread and thought i would post here instead of starting another Thread.. Hope you do not mind.
Its so faint i cant get a picture of it at all. Sorry about this.. My question is has anyone ever seen anything like this.. It reminds me of the grid if code on matrix but its not that bad . its always at the same position until you power off then they are right back but different / random locations. They are not lined up in any way except it runs same directing. vertically

I'm from Chile. That means, the only way I can get a Nexus 7 is by importing it. I've been saving up money for months for it, but now that I finally got it all, I started browsing XDA and Android Central forums.
What I can tell, is that if I buy one, there's a very, very high chance I get a faulty device. I've read people saying they're on their third or fourth device, and still faulty! I won't even be able to return it
I'm just thinking out loud, and was hoping to get some input from a community of N7 owners. Maybe some of you are or were on my same situation.
The people posting about issues on the forums are a very small percentage of sales. For example, if 100 people complain of product issues, but 1 million people have flawless devices who didn't report their flawless experience, it would be safe to say you have a slim chance of getting a defective device.
Thing is though, there is no way of telling exactly how many Nexus 7's were sold total or how many people received flawless devices.
Mine was brought from Australia (so no usable warranty) and was from the first batch but I still don't experience any issues with it.

Yeah, you're right. There are probably less faulty products going around than what I think, but it's also true that there are more faulty devices going around tnat they should!
Anyway, i'm looking into buying the 32Gb without 3g model. Those are new, so manufacture problems should be addressed by now, right?
Honestly what you're seeing is people with tech OCD who are obsessed with getting an absolutely pristine perfect nexus.
I have to admit, I was one of those people at one point. I obsessed about left-side screen lift and extremely minor backlight bleed. I returned many devices and spent a lot of time without my tablet because of it. What I've come to realize is that the way ASUS designs the tablet is that very minor raising of the left-side of the screen is inevitable and there's no such thing (in my opinion) as a Nexus where this doesn't exist, it's pretty much part of the design of the nexus. I think that early models had a much more significant problem in this regard. Every single C90 Nexus that I've ever seen/touched the left side was slightly raised, if only a little tiny tiny bit, compared to the right.
Does this change how you use the tablet day to day, or anything like that? No. The only time it comes into play is when you focus solely on trying to identify screen lift. It's not something I would really worry about. Seriously, I went through like 5 16GB's and 3 32GB's before I came to this conclusion. I've had a much better experience after I've simply stopped obsessing about screen lift or any small little problem that I find and just use the tablet. The 32gb I ended up keeping has the screen lift.. but as I said I've never SEEN a C90 model that doesn't, I think this is due to lack of screws on the left hand side, to prevent cases of SERIOUS screen lift. It also has very very minor backlight bleeding at the top of the screen on full brightness, and (something that seems common to ALL 32gbs) you get pretty noticeable ripple of the LCD on the left side when slight-medium pressure is applied. Couple weeks ago this would have warranted a return... but to be honest I don't notice ANY of these in regular use. The only time it's an issue is when I'm actively looking for them!

Don't buy to much into the whine tendency that seems to be going around on the net about these. I've bought 2 and they were both good. Both from walmart. I'm not saying the rumors are false I'm just saying that I don't think the "failure" rate is worth worrying about more than anything else you may buy at the store.
Small squishy screen lift that you have to hunt for to find does not make your device faulty. Mine has pretty moderate screen lift and I hardly notice it, does not hamper my enjoyment of the device at all.
From everything we know, the 32GB model is exactly the same electronics except a different (bigger) memory chip.
That is true all the way back to the 8GB models - just different memory, allowing for minor engineering changes like in C70, C80, and C90 models.
The White 8GB models handed out at the show did have some minor differences in things like Bluetooth.
If there's no warranty don't buy the N7.
I'm on my 3rd device and I still have to warranty it again. All had different critical issues, such as a row of dead pixels or the speaker not working.
Save a bit more money and buy a device you can warranty easily in your own country.
From your post it sounds like you should not risk the money you had to save up.

i would have to agree with this post. I also think the issues are more then 1 in a million as said above . There is no real way to tell what that ratio is. But its known that if you get a faulty device with screen being spongy and do NOT fix or exchange it . The screen will break its just a matter of when. If its a slight screen lift (what most have)You should be fine. The true defect of the screen being spongy is much more rare then the screen lift issue that just makes it a bit raised or bezel warped.
I would say its not worth the risk of getting the issue if you Cant send it back.
I had two defective devices one with bad screen spongy issue . One came where screen cracked on first touch(VERY Rare and not related to any of the so called issues )
My biggest issue is google play and how they handle refunds it took me over a month on the second device and near two on the first. I did buy a 3rd even thou i said I WOULD not do so. It was perfect from walmart. Just yesterday exchanged it for a perfect 32 gb version..

I am one of the proud N7 owners, too, and I might share my own experience: I bought my N7 from one of the first production charges directly at Google, and I have to admit that the first device I got had a pixel flickering after unlocking. It made the devices really pretty useless, so I returned it and got the second one, which I still own, because it is just pure perfection What I think and already read is that the production faults are getting less frequent the newer the device is. So the chance to get a "perfect" N7 today is very high compared to the frequency of faults in the first production charges. I can advice you to order it anyway, it is totally worth the effort if you, against all good will, get a damaged device. Also the returning costs + the "normal" price are still much lower than the costs for other tablets.

I keep hearing in different forums about how the faulty devices might be a very small fraction, but the same people also mention they are on their second or third device like a normal thing. I mean, just in this thread there are already two persons on their third device!

Every single C90 Nexus that I've ever seen/touched the left side was slightly raised, if only a little tiny tiny bit, compared to the right.
Does this change how you use the tablet day to day, or anything like that? No. The only time it comes into play is when you focus solely on trying to identify screen lift. It's not something I would really worry about. Seriously, I went through like 5 16GB's and 3 32GB's before I came to this conclusion. I've had a much better experience after I've simply stopped obsessing about screen lift or any small little problem that I find and just use the tablet. The 32gb I ended up keeping has the screen lift.. but as I said I've never SEEN a C90 model that doesn't, I think this is due to lack of screws on the left hand side, to prevent cases of SERIOUS screen lift. It also has very very minor backlight bleeding at the top of the screen on full brightness, and (something that seems common to ALL 32gbs) you get pretty noticeable ripple of the LCD on the left side when slight-medium pressure is applied. Couple weeks ago this would have warranted a return... but to be honest I don't notice ANY of these in regular use. The only time it's an issue is when I'm actively looking for them!

Someone finally gives up and starts justifying the poor QC by insinuating that it is intentionally "part of the design".
That's a bunch of bull ****.
If that is ASUS' design teams goal, then they should be fired (they probably should be fired anyway..)
Honestly, I've bought a ton of Android devices, and the worst of the lot when it comes to QC are the Nexus devices. It's probably due to the short production schedules and low budgets they allot to make them since they're practically sold at cost. Whatever the driving factor, the truth is I've had way more issues with Nexus products than any others. Every single time I buy a Nexus device I have to exchange it (usually multiple times) before I end up with one that minimizes the flaws.
If some people want to run around pretending they're supposed to be like that, great for them - but I'm not putting blinders on to reality to make myself feel better about having a faulty product or blame it on some type of OCD.
I got very lucky that I only had to exchange my Nexus 7 once before getting one that I thought was almost perfect. Sure enough, a week or two later and here comes the lower left-hand side light bleed.. smh
But to act like you should be OK with it because "that's the way it's supposed to be" is just lying to yourself to calm your perceived "OCD" which is really just wanting a product that performs as they claim it does. I don't remember seeing the Nexus 7 specs including "light bleed" or "slightly raised screen and missing screws for greater product life". I do remember reading about it's "amazing" HD screen...

I'm one of those who have this tech OCD problem, and was apprehensive when I was considering buying the Nexus 7. I bought it anyway, and it was perfect from day one, as I guess millions of others were.
As has already been said, there will always be a percentage of bad/faulty products, and any received by XDA members will be heard loud and clear on these forums.

It might not be in the description of the device, but every company has their faults as these devices and the likes are mass produced. It is unavoidable situation, just some companies are less likely to have faulty units.
I agree that it seems more issues are with Nexus devices, but it is the dice you roll for other things you like, preferably Vanilla Android and faster updates.
I have light bleed in the left hand corner.....I just deal with it. Hardly notice it anymore.
If you want everything perfect, Godspeed....you will have quite an interesting busy life, lol!

Asus QC friggin' sucks. I own a Transformer Prime and a Nexus 7, and they're both crappy hardware wise. I had to use crazy glue to get "fix" the screen lift on my N7.
With that said, Nexus devices are the best. The software is second to none, is supported directly from Google, and is snappy and responsive. It's worth the tradeoff, IMO.

Lets not blame ASUS as a whole for bad QC. I own a sound card and DVD burner from them, and they are truly flawless (or at least don't show any obvious defects, with months of use).
I got my device a week early from ebuyer.com in the UK. No problems at all. As always, those with problems report them and those with no problems have no need - so are therefore less vocal. Go ahead and buy one, unless you have other financial problems. Techno gadgets are not the most important thing to spend money on.
If I didnt have an option to return a possibly faulty Nexus (or anything) which has a chance of arriving with a fault or developing a fault, then I would not buy it myself...not unless I was prepared to possibly throw the money away.
Far from being OCD, I was happy with my Nexus 7, but after 2 weeks of hardly having used it, I heard a noise as I was pressing the screen. I tracked the noise down to significant screen lift on the left side. I then read up on it and opened the back and found 2 screws missing on the left side and the other 2 loose. I tightened the loose two and tested it again. It was better, but there was visible screen rippling when I pressed the display on the left side. I was not happy and realised it was going to fail again and that perhaps the screen would crack in the end. I was (and am) seriously unimpressed that Asus are obviously aware of this issue and have tried to get around it rather than fix it properly.
I'm waiting for another model where they've fixed this. I dont buy items to put up with stuff. IF I buy a Nexus 7 again, then I will get it from a bricks and mortart store where I can check it first and where I can take it back if need be.
Tell ya what, you can buy my Nexus 7 16GB, which is flawless, for $200+shipping and I'll go out and buy myself a 32GB. Win-win!
This is my first AMOLED device, and probably my last. I got my nexus 6 a few weeks ago and have been using it moderately. Screen brightness never went above 50%. I already have a very noticeable burn on the bottom bar. Unfortunately have no warranty so I cant return it. Very disappointed. Didnt expect to find such a problem on such a great device.Is there a way to fix it? How bad can this get in the future? I would appreciate someone with such an experience to give me some advice.
If you don't mind and still have warranty, send it to Motorola.

I noticed it the first time I looked (with gray screen) which was after I had the phone about a month. I've now had the phone 6+ months and situation is the same...Only noticeable when I look carefully with the right background. So my concern level now is much less than when I first noticed it.
I don't bother with the app you set up to age/burn your nav bar at full brightness for awhile to even things out. I do occasionally run chrome inverted in order to give a crude dark theme (good for battery) which has the extra benefit of aging/burning the nav bar area that doesn't usually age...helps to even things out

I dont have warranty so thats out of the option, but if changing the screen is affordable I might consider that on a later date.

Well as long as the current quality doesnt deteriorate, I could live with it. But considering the amount of burn in just one month, Im skeptical about it in the long run.

I have had my device for over a year and no burn in whats so ever. Not even a little bit. Makes me wonder what your moderate use is.
So the device is used, if you've got no warranty?

They didn't require me any proof for the replacement.

I'm sure. The fact Motorola is owned by Lenovo is just as irrelevant now as when they were owned by Google. The piece of paper that spells out the warranty terms and conditions is what applies here, and that warranty does not transfer with the device when the device is sold to a second user by the first. If they processed a replacement for you, that was kind of them.
I bought mine new the month it came out and mine has burn also.. I have the 6p,note5,v10, but I swap out this phone for the 6p every now and then.. Point being it's not used much and still has burn in
All amoled screens should be used wisely, because over time the parties held most heated they become prone to yellow, while the share held duller, like the navbar and statusbar, will stay with the most "cool colors".
The solution is simple: use the EXTENDED DESKTOP mode SINCE THE FIRST DAY (present in almost all the custom rom).
In this way, in the time, the display deteriorates evenly , and no one pays attention!
Maybe after one year or two we have to change a bit the colors and make them cooler.
sad to say but i also have the burn in now.. got my shamu last october and its noticeable when you flash a rom and during initial set up where whites are pretty present and the gray part on the nav bar and status bar is so obvious with some hints on the clock, wifi symbols and signal and on the navbar some back home and recents button shadows present... too bad..
Now it is too late .... But if it is still under warranty should replace you display...
If with new display follow the advice since day one, you never have a problem!

Yesterday I nave broken the screen of my moto x 2014. Fortunately, only the glass is broken and the LCD and touchscreen are all OK, without any problem. I was thinking about make someone repair it, but I saw that the price is high, about 100€ here in Italy. What do you advice to do? Could I find more competitive price? And is it possibile that I can find a shop where they could replace only the glass? If I send it to Motorola, which price will they do?
I would get a new phone. Even tho i love this phone, but i think it would be more profitable than paying extra 100Eur for 3y old phone.

You have to take into account that it's very hard to replace a phone like this one. There are no real successors and nexus is dead. (And no, our phone is not "three years old", it's not even two and a half. This distorted consumerist perception of time is one of the reasons why we haven't seen updates beyond ONE bloody year)
I've never seen someone service a screen (from any brand) for less than 100 euros, unfortunately. Can't you just phone an official Motorola service centre and ask them for an estimate?
Yes, next week I'll try in a Motorola service centre but, considering what I read in other forums, I don't think that they will make me a better price.
From what I understood, the problem is that the spare part is quite expensive, also if you buy it from eBay. The only way to save some money is to change only the glass but the process is difficult and you should spend other money on the specific tools anyway. Now I'm looking for someone that can do it, although the largest part of shops prefers to replace all the piece and not only the glass.

Well in terms of performance, screen, software and features, this phone doesnt feel 3y old but why is it hard to replace phone like this ? OnePlus 3T, Pixel, S7(or upcoming S8), are all great options. Better cameras, screens, batteries and performance. Im just being objective. And i will still have my moto for year or two.
Pixels and Galaxies are way too pricey, yes, they're bleeeeding edge, and so is the 1+3T, but I was considering a successor, not just a newer, "better" phone.
Google assistant (assuming you can get it to work from screen off when you're not plugged in) is not better than Moto voice just because it's newer.
Bottom speakers are not better just because Google is monkeying iphones.
Samsung firmwares are not better.
Ambient display is not better than Moto display.
That's why you can always buy a newer, more powerful phone assuming you have the money, but you aren't going to find everything you left in the "old tech" drawer.
Dropped mine a month ago - broken glass, frame untouched, perfectly functional touchscreen.
Thought it was 'wrong' to spend money to repair, bought a refurbished Nexus 5.
Well, damn, Moto X 2014 was better in almost every way except camera - by a lot.
BTW: the Nexus 5 is ready to get shipped, with tempered glass and a new battery alredy installed...
