Try NANO GApps & above
I'm on Miui, I don't need Gapps
Define "after root", did you just install magisk?

Have you used magisk hide option?
No, don't need to hide the root
I don't understand you problem completely but maybe try to delete Google data and Google services data and set up ok Google once again
I've already deleted my Google data and it's not working. The ptoblem is that: if I root my phone, then it becomes impossible to activate voice match...
I use root, SuperiorOS, MortalOS, nikgapps full (modified)
Works perfectly fine for me. (I used Magisk hide, no rename)

Hi,
I'm running stock ROM with TWRP recovery.
I've managed to successfully root my Note with Magisk.
Somehow I noticed that my device loses root after a reboot and sometimes even randomly. When I go into the custom recovery and flash Magisk 14 or 14.3 everything works fine for while, till it loses root again.
Could someone shed some light on my issue, please?
Thanks in advance.
I've also themed Magisk Manager with Substratum could that be the issue?
I'm also running stock rom, losing magisk root from time to time.
When root is lost, I'm getting a notification that "new magisk V14 is available.
Reinstalling with TWRP only to lose it again a day or two later.
You all need to change your settings in magisk manager. I had the same problem. Change your update channel to Beta. This will keep magisk 14.3 installed once you flash it in recovery after setting this. :highfive:
Are you using the hide root feature?
If so then that is probably your issue.

If I disable it, won't secure apps that run in the background pick up root? I'm guessing I should freeze them first or something?

Try closing those apps first, I think it goes ok as long you don't start the apps yourself because most off the apps checks root at startup, but I can't guarantee you anything
Something weird has happened... I've not actually changed anything but now I tend to lose root immediately after rebooting.
I'm a technical person so whilst I say nothing has changed, I know that it probably has and I just can't remember.
I need Hide, so disabling that is not an option... I have no idea where to even start debugging this

I've been posting my analysis here:

We have some smart guys (ie @topjohnwu @Didgeridoohan @kantjer etc) and I don't know enough to sort this so the least I can do is provide as much information as possible

Only been spamming the thread with my woes since yesterday so still early days. I'm certainly not expecting an immediate fix because this has been going on for quite some time and if it was easy, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Yes, I also tried with several things like sudo hide and root cloak but not working.
Pls try this method... It works for my one plus 3 with latest magisk... Goto root/data/data/com.digilocker.android/shared_prefs. There you'll find a file called digilocker_pref.xml. Edit the file and change the line 'ROOTED_RESULT>true to false... Save it... Reboot the device and now you can open the app... Enjoy...

To use digilocker, you also need to have SELinix enforcing.
You can use with root too
But u have to use Digilocker Version <= 5.1.9
I found the solution for this problem.
You can install Digilocker on any rooted phone.
Install the app Island from Playstore by @oasisfeng
And install Digilocker App on the island created by this app.
Island is nothing but Work Profile.
I find this app very very helpful.
There are a lot of things you can do with this app.
Believe me, you never knew you needed this app and will find very useful.
I use Truecaller also with this app.
Bro, i am from india as well.
Digilocker is included in paytm. You need not install it seperately.
I am also facing same issue with Hdfc bank's new app. Magisk is unable to hide root from it.
Here, in xda, i have come to know about island app.
Will try, and let you know about my experience.

Why are you trying to use magisk hide, just change the name of magisk in setting, the app will not able to know if device is rooted , I have done that and banking app are working now. So try changing the name of magisk.

Yes possible
Yes the following method worked for me.
First hide manager from settings
Then use magisk hide to hide root from digi locker.
After you some random package name like in screen shot then the magisk manager is hidden
Try this method it worked for me

If I unlock my XL when I get it will it prevent Google Pay from working?
I thought Google deemed an unlocked phone as being insecure.
Assuming by unlock, you mean unlocking the bootloader, yes, using stock software, it will prevent you from using google pay as long as the bootloader is unlocked.

If it's stock rom + magisk module, will the safetynet check break?
It's returned to stock rom now.
I plan to unlock again and flash the recovery, then delete the .apk files in recovery. Finally relock again.
I think the safetynet check would be okay after this. Hope I'm correct.

Please avoid unlocking relocking bootloader multiple times. It may get hardbricked anytime.
Stock rom with magisk modules will not break the safetynet unless you flash xposed.
Just make sure you hide the magisk manager from settings and hide all banking apps or all those apps that detect root and you'll be good to go.
I'm on stock with magisk +modules and debloated all Chinese apps.

In that case you need to install Magisk. Then hide magisk manager in settings (change name to manager) and add McDonald's app in Magisk hide.
hide with magisk etc but be prepared that if google moves on the new safetynet stuff this will stop working as it did already couple of times
