YES its rootable all you need to run the doomloard's event exploit from original dev section.. happy rooting
ok, I checked that thread and now have additional question for anyone who can have a time and knowledge to answer. obviously there is a new stock rom 12.0.A.2.245 for our bellowed SP. now, I have that older version 12.0.A.1.257 and though I tried updating device firmware I receive message that my phone is up to date. so I assumed this is probably due to some drug deal sony have with my operator ( the one the phone came from) and now for some reason sony would not let me update firmware (yet). so my question is next, actually there are several questions:
A. am I'm going to brick my phone if I manually download and update new firmware via flashtool regardless of sony saying my device is up to date?
B. Is this new firmware 12.0.A.2.245 so much better that is actually worth updating? (this should be A)
C. if i root this old firmware and perhaps install CW as well, and than update to the new one, am I'm going to loose both root and CW, or perhaps only CW after updating? or i will get to keep root and CW?
D. is it better to update and than root, or root and than update?
i hope this is not too much. thanks!
ps. i forgot to say, though my phone came from an operator, it is not sim locked and boot unlock status is YES

A. no unless u r on unlocked bootloader that should brick our phone.
B. every firmware bring new advantages and disadvanteges..so i think u should upgrade it because camera has been improved! (low light photography)
C no u will loose both root and cwm
D both first update than root !! ROOT IS AWSM!!! it makes u feels that device is actually yours!!
thanks for a quick reply. so, I am going to update first and than do that "flash old kernel - root - flash new kernel" thing. and than backup the TA partition from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2292598
I would like to save the BE and DRM keys 'cause I'm sure I'll unlock bootloader as well that entire process is what makes android so much better that sh**pple. like you said, you actually get to own your device. thanks again and thanks XDA!
i recently bought a bell xperia z1, went on to the sony website to unlock bootloader to find that mine is locked, unlike the international version which has an unlockable bootloader.
ive updated it to see if the updates would unlock the bootloader but alas they did not, now im running :
model c6906
android 4.3
build 14.2.A.0.209
Main question :
Will i be able to downgrade and bypass the bootloader?
ive rooted a S2/Htc HD/ Desire Z in the past im just worrying about bricking my phone that ive had for less then a week.
and all other guides ive seen are for different versions, ive heard of flashing the 6903 stuff but that makes me worry way to much.
so pretty much want to know is it possible to do via downgrade to achieve root or should i just wait till a safer method becomes available.
sony bloatware is annoying
Yes, you can get C6906 Rooted with Locked Bootlader. First you have Read a bit more about it, starting with this thread and also watch the Video Tutorial.
You have to use Flashtool v0.9.15 to downgrade to .534 using Rogers FTF for your model from here.
When you are on 4.2.2 FW .534 Root it with Bin4ry Method, then Install Dualrecovery, SuperSU and Upgrade to your favorite latest Android Pre-Rooted, like KitKat Here or JB 4.3 Here.
Done.
Good Luck!
you sir are the man, followed the video and got root, now to find a rom to use.
edit : went to install a rom + gapps and had to do the whole process over again. right from flashing nuts custom. got stuck in a sony logo boot loop. zz
so attempt #2 with a different rom.
edit 2: was able to update to 4.4 kitkat so now i hope i can update my rom. since i was trying to do a 4.4 rom on the 4.3 firmware ?
edit3: nope stuck on sony logo so went back to nuts again... hrmm well atleast i could upate to 4.4 going to try boot to cwm and see if that works
Before I flashed mine I was reading for weeks, You did in few hours and I think to quickly. If the phone stuck in Boot logo, I think you did something wrong but I don't have the phone with me so I cannot tell.
Now you have to go back to stock, keep pushing Volume UP and Power, 3 vibrations, phone in off, keep pushing volume down and connect to pc in flashmode, flash a Stock FTF for your model from the link I give you. Now you phone should boot. Repeat the process to get Root and be careful.
Remember to Wipe Data, Appslog, Cache, every time you flash a Fresh Installation is recommended.

You should not connect the phone to the PC until the PC prompts you after flashtool has prepared the files for flashing

4.4 will need a 4.4 kernel.

Ok, that is why I saw in Flashtool Disconnect and Connect my device few times but never had a problem. Good to know.
i was able to go back and use flash tool to flash nut's ftf
so im on 4.4 kitkat rooted which is good.
but when i flash any custom rom trough any recovery it boot loops im guessing its because locked bootloader.
so im guessing any rom i want to flash has to have 2 parts. The flashing process in recovery and the flashtool flash firmware for that rom.
unless like you said update my kernal
Hey, so my phone was on a custom ROM for some time now and I just recently went back to stock by flashing an .ftf file with FlashTool.
Since I wanted to go very sure that I take the right file to flash, I chose one with the firmware version 12.1.A.0.266 because I didn't find a newer one, I trusted, thinking I could update it to 12.1.A.1.207 via Update Center then. The flashing process went flawless but the thing is that I couldn't update my phone.
I go into the Update Center, click on download (it's the newest 12.1.A.1.207 firmware) and afterwards on install. The phone shuts down and for 4 or 5 seconds the screen shows the normal animation it always shows, when updating firmware.
After these 4 or 5 seconds it reboots normally and I get the alert that installation is not possible. I tried it a hundred times via PC Companion as well but it always says that I have modified software and it can't be updated.
I also reset my phone thinking this could solve the issue but it didn't and now I don't know what to do. I don't really want to flash an .ftf file again because I'm always a bit anxious when flashing something.
If you have an idea on how to solve my problem I'd be very thankful
Anyone?

I didn't even know, that updating with an unlocked bootloader is not possible. Thanks for your recommendation as well
Hi everybody
Wishing to sell my Huawei P9 I wanted to return it as it came out of the factory but impossible.
It has the bootloader unblock, FRP lock at one time it was unlock and since I tried to make an update it went into lock and the TWRP recovery of installed.
It is under 5.0.1 and android 7 and the number of buils is EVA-L09C530B284.
I tried the 3 methods to install an original ROM of my operator but nothing to do that does not.
- The DLOAD method: it restarts in the recovery twrp there are steps that are done and then it failed all in 2 minutes.
- The forced update method: that's 5% and installation failed.
- With hi suite: everything is going well and said that such is up to date and restart nothing I'm still in the old versions.
I did the 3 methods with the unrooted phone.
I feel that it is the recovery twrp that blocks the installation.
How to install the original recovery and install the official updates?
Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Sorry, I don't understand your question.
For both HWOTA (first link) or HWOTA7 (second link) you need to unlock Bootloader first - but you wrote above that previously you had unlocked Bootl8ader, hence you can use the same Bootloader code - it is bound to your eevice.
Asvdescribed in HWOTA instructions, installation of some stock ROMs will automatically relock your Bootloader (it-sa flag in the update.zip, out of your control) - hut you can always unlock it again.
ok it's good I just made an update and everything is back in order it is as if he came out of the box
thank you very much

The Original was the one which came with it, and it was going mad, 0%, 65% 97% 15% off , back on etc.
Then I ordered one off Ebay and it doing same, it is Chinese brand I would think.
The problem I got is, I flashed the XT890 back when the EU version was the only GB closest, since no GB version of 4.4.2.
Now when I try RSD Lite to reflash or go back to 4.1 it fails.
I had a folder with the Items back from 2013 or 2104 maybe, but can't remember the process and so I need to Unroot?
I have tried putting FW on SD but it fails there too.

Hello you could a have a look at this thread about your battery issue,
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2198774
What i have learned is that you can not downgrade the firmware if it is older than the current software on the phone.
So if you have android KITKAT 4.4.2. you cannot flash to jellybean or ice cream sandwich and they are the only firmwares available at the firmware centre.
If you have a unlocked bootloader it is possible to reflash downgraded firmware but do so at your own risk !
Have you tried the Motorola app called Smart Actions for battery ?
You could try to intstall this firmware software from your SD card, using TWRP,
Blur_Version.990.43.74.XT890.Retail.en.EU.zip?dl=0
and this one too,

When you said early in the post that you have changed the firmware on the system motherboard (The problem I got is, I flashed the XT890 back when the EU version was the only GB closest, since no GB version of 4.4.2.) how did you flash the phone with KITKAT EU ? did you do it with system menu OTA update via the internet ? or did you flash it with firmware from a file downloaded from the internet ?
I think the problem will be the firmware that you installed because when you flash firmware you need the serial number from under the battery or where the number is located to get the right version of software for the phone.
It has to be the same or newer for it to work properly, or the phone to operate correctly.
So you could only downgrade the phone to the original stock rom firmware for it to operate and function correctly.
Is the bootloader locked or unlocked ? because with a locked bootloader you will not be'able to downgrade to original stock rom firmware. With locked, the firmware is stuck as it is unless it is original stock rom on the system motherboard which you can easy reflash with RSD lite recovery software.

It would have been from this Thread
https://forum.xda-developers.com/razr-i/help/qa-razr-xt890-4-4-2-eu-ota-update-t3094784
I asked at the start here, what is the Process, as all I remember is, I got the files from here back 2015 by the looks.
Then either updated by RSD or put on SD and done it.
Since mine is a GB phone, there was no GB version and I had to use the EU one.
I have no clue now if I locked or unlocked it.
I had to boot up my old XP machine and it had all the Adb and Moto files in one folder. but none of those files seem to work, eventhough RSD shows my Phone on USB on the XP machine, but not on the Win10 machine I have now.
I retried RSD and I took out a few lines from the xml and it bricked my phone.
I did recover it and the onlything that seemed to have changed was the baseband.
How can I Downgrade or reflash the FW?

I managed to get to CFC_9.8.2I-50_SMI-26_S7_USASMIJBRTEU and it has gone back to 4.1.2
It see's CFC_9.8.2I-50_SMI-29_S7_USASMIJBRTGB.xml on my SD as an Update, not sure why?
Is it not the same?
Since doing this, my battery only lost 60% in 2 1/2 days.
Clearly either the FW got bugged or an App was doing something.
I have installed a Security software and it came up with phishing warning, but how would I know if that was true with that FW version?

Hi the firmware should be fine with no issues and you installed Jellybean 4.1.2 european version, my phone is the same as yours but with KITKAT 4.4.2. and the battery discharges about the same. Install eset security from google play store or any other website, and install DU Battery Saver Pro and other DU software for android, these are all available at the google play store and you should have no problems with the battery.
