Looking to see if somebody can help me with my issue which is I can no longer get RCS activated in messages, its not even an option to activate "chat feature not available for this device / you carrier does not currently support this feature." I came from op 6t where it worked just fine going all the way back where there was a manual option to activate it. When I to the pixel it worked than as I was unenrolling from beta messages it got screwed up. Talked to google whom said talk to att whom were completely clueless to what RCS is. There is a ticket out there with next level IT so we will see but am wondering if there something I should do or somebody that I should escolate to. BTW went back to 6th and no luck either.

Found the answer. You need a new sim from AT&T. There is an issue with the 5g sim cards that came with the Pixel 5's so have AT&T send you a new one or get a newer one from the store. Not sure how to tell if the new sim card is the right one though.

Good to hear.
I just got a replacement Pixel 5 today as my original phone's proximity sensor was defective. This one was shipped by AT&T vs from a store. On this phone RCS works with the sim it came with.
You can trick it by putting someone else's sim card into your phone from a different carrier. Activate RCS with the alternate sim card in your phone. Then switch back to your sim card.
having the same issue on my Samsung Note 10+, it was okay two weeks ago but now it doesnt work anymore on both samsung messages and google messages

UPDATE: At this time Sprint won't activate 32GB N5s, 16GB OKAY.
They won't activate until their launch date, that is if they will even activate play store bought phones at that date.
Thankfully I picked up a tmo pre paid sim so I can use it now.
Screw you Sprint. Please contact customer service and email Sprint exec offices, the more they hear from us the better.
Their willingness to send me a USIM card for free for my Nexus 5 leads me to believe they will activate them.
[07:43:37 PM] me: And to confirm its for the new Nexus 5 please.
[07:43:53 PM] Sprint: Yes, that is what I have.
[07:44:02 PM] me: Ok thank you
[07:44:50 PM] Sprint.: You are welcome, I am almost complete. I have placed the order. Your expected delivery date is....
Now the 8th that might be another story.... I'll have both the card and phone tomorrow, hopefully.
I am on the phone with them now. They seem to be doing it but we are not done yet. The local sprint store was 0 help as they do not stock the Sim cards.
Untrue I got mine activated. But I used the sim from my note 3. And I ordered a sim online.

Did you do it thru the Sprint website? To activate.
Really.... because they flat out said they cant do it period since the N5 isnt in their system.
It's Sprint, if you've been a customer long then you should know YMMV, and you are almost always required to call back multiple times to yield results. While Sprint support has GREATLY improved, it usually takes a few attempts before you reach a technically inclined, competent, and willing representative. IMO and in my experience. :good:
wow, if this is true and they won't activate my phone in store i'll be paying my ETF on the spot to clear my old phone's ESN. (which truthfully is the only reason i wanted to activate the new phone anyway, so i could sell my iPhone to pay for the ETF to go to T-Mobile)
i am not a bit surprised, and won't be surprised if they tell me the same thing tomorrow. ridiculous.
I went through the hole process.
Dear Ben Cantrell,
Thank you for contacting Sprint. It was my pleasure serving you today. We’re so happy you picked us, now we want to make sure you’re happy with this experience.

They cant activate them in stores at all as the stores don't stock the SIM cards. They come with the phones that require them. Per the person i spoke with the stores that will be receiving the Nexus 5 will receive a SIM to go with it.

I am looking to purchase an At&t branded N6 for use on Vzw...I've done the research and I know for sure that it will work. I also know that I need to get an unlock code for it to be able to work. What is the quickest way to receive a code without having to pay a fee? Thank you so much for your help.
P.S. The seller inserted a Vzw nano Sim to see what would happen, and it immediately asks for the code...does that mean it's already unlocked n all I need is the code? Or does unlocking and activation all happen in one step once the code is entered?
Its locked my friend but why not by it directly from Motorola or GPS?
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
Is it true I don't need a code if I root the phone? If so, are there any precautions to take?
No it is the carrier in which you purchased the phone is who locks it. Once the phone is paid in full you simply call your carrier for the unlock code although there are some stipulations to the rule such as you can only unlock two phones with in a six month period.
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
Yes I know of the stipulations...the phone is paid off, but from what I'm reading it takes a min for att to send the code...
I know it's easy enough to unlock...n I don't have the money to be able to buy outright, spending a few hundred less buying from a seller
N all that is currently available in my area are Att branded N6s lol
And I do already have an active nano Sim, so that makes things easier
By the way, I love Jedi Mind Tricks
all you have to do for them to sim unlock it is pay it off completely then ask tbem to sim unlock it. once its paid off, they have to sim unlock it if you ask.

As title, my Nokia8 can not download update of 2018-03...
I tried these:
1. stop and restart "google play service".
2. reset phone to factory.
But no use... program stop at "start download update."...

I shouldn't have to though, sadly i have already knackered a perfectly good Moto G 3rd gen getting a SIM out that was in an adapter and the adapter caught the SIM contacts in the phone and that was that, the phone no longer recognises a SIM card. I cant blame Nokia for it but if they were sending updates to handsets on EE it wouldn't have happened.
Bodging it doesn't fix or explain why EE or Nokia are doing what they are doing.
user1507808215403 on the Nokia community forums tried it and it didn't work for this update.
I use EE and did fine with updates until the consumer release of 8.1. This only came when I popped a 3 SIM in. However this month even that didn't work.

Yeah, I know.
I've spoken to Nokia support, but couldn't get any info why they doing this.
I've strange feeling that this have something to do with EE WiFi calling or HD voice (or however they calling it). Possibly updates needs their approval.
I even sort of coerced Nokia in to answering me after many ignored tweets and then i asked them what was going on and they just went back to being silent.

So I have the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 512 GB, I was having trouble today activating it, but an online rep helped me get the phone working with Sprint. However, the phone will not stay connected to Sprint. When I boot the phone then will work as normal for five minutes but after that, I will get the invalid sim error and all network services will just disconnect. I took the phone to a Sprint store and the rep switched out the sim for a*known working sim, but that didn't work. The rep suggested I call Samsung and get the phone replaced, but before I do that I wanted to know if anyone else is having similar issues.

You would have had to pay $10 for BYOD. I had sprint send me 2 wrong SIMS for phones and it would say invalid sim. The BYOD also usually comes in a pack with 3 different types. If the SIM they gave you was just a single SIM on a credit card sized card its likely not BYOD. Those sims are for sprint phones BYOD sims are required for unlocked phones. If you went in and said you need a SIM for a Note 9 they may have assumed you had a sprint one.

Why did you need tech support? It looks pretty straightforward to me. Scan the code and install eSim number. I wonder if I can use a physical sim for one Verizon number and the eSim for another on Vzw. Then I can drop Fi finally.
I needed tech cause my current number is attached to an iPhone esim and I needed them to be able to transfer the number back to the Pixel.

Are you sure about that? When I transferred my phone number to another phone via eSim it just asked for my phone number (I think.. now I'm not sure exactly) but I had the activated phone turned off and then just enabled eSim on the new phone and the phone number was there. The old phone eSim was deactivated. I think the message was something like if you install the eSim here then all other eSims will be deactivated. Maybe with Verizon the process is different but it's basically the same as switching physical sims. You take it out of one phone, put it in another and done. Heck, turn off the iPhone and try to activate the eSim on the Pixel see what happens. (easy for me to say lol)

Has to go through tier 2 tech support since no one knows what they are doing. Also, make sure you are updated to best software 200405.005. I didn't realize I wasn't updated when I tried and it wouldn't work, so will have them switch it tomorrow.

Even from the link you posted it shows they're clueless. To have to go through that nonsense when it should only take a scan of QR code is absurd. I'll wait a few months for them to clear it up.

I agree. On an iPhone it's just a simple QR code scan and you're done. I'll wait until Verizon figures out how to do it right.
Last week I activated eSim with T-Mobile. I first had to call and tell the rep EID of my phone. Then I went to settings>network... and then next to mobile network, I tapped + sign and followed the steps. (I did open T-Mobile esim support page which had QR code or I could type some info myself.)

Did this deactivate your physical SIM if you were using one prior?

Yes, it did.
A day before, I put physical sim into an iPhone to test. Then next day I wanted to put the sim card back into my Pixel 4 and at that time I remembered about eSIM . Called T-Mobile and when the rep entered EID of my Pixel, he told that that the phone we talk on(iPhone) will get disconnected and it did. He did notify me if the sim is inserted into Pixel 4, to remove it... looks like it is best to remove the physical before connecting eSIM.
