Auto unlock with PIN - Sony Xperia 1 II Questions & Answers

HI all,
Moved from the XZ Premium to the Xperia 1 II.
On my old phone, when I type in my PIN it automatically unlocks the screen without me having to tap the "Enter" button.
Can this be done on the new phones?

Device Lock

On my old XDA Mini S (Wizard) I used a tool called "Device Lock" to lock my phone. This was good because it would lock with whatever was open at the time, e.g. Pocket Memory Map, still open.
On my MDA Vario III the built-in lock (hold in the red phone button) puts the Today screen back on. Is there a registry hack that can stop this, or do I need to install a third-party like Device Lock again ?
Thanks

Do you mean the option on the home screen?
If you go to Start > Settings > Today and select the 'Items' tab it should be there, make sure it is ticked and that should restore it to the home screen. It isn't enabled as default on the Vario III (My version at least!).
The WM6 lock works just fine, but I would like it to lock with whatever is on the screen at the time continuing to be displayed whilst locked.
At the moment the lock will revert to the Today page and lock.
Sorry if I'm not being very clear!

BatteryStatus (and a few other) can do something like that. You power off the phone and when you power on again it locks automatically. And it will allow you to stay in whatever app is up on the display.
The disadvantage with BatteryStatus is that it will ALWAYS lock the phone at power on, even if the phone wakes up due to an incoming phone call. When you end the call, you have to unlock the screen first before you can hang up.
Thanks for replies.
I've got it to do what I want by installing Device Lock, then using AEBPlus to reassign a long press on the red phone button to it.

[Q] Can't type password because "unlock" doesn't work

Hello.
I searched the forum a bit if there is a similar thread as mine but I haven't found one that would help me out.
I was clumsy and my Xperia X1 fall on the floor and now my uper slide part of Xperia lost connection. So my screen and buttons (PANEL, OK, take the cal, reject the call...) on it don't work. I will take my Xperia to a repairshop but first I would like to download all my stuff stored in it. But... there starts the real problem. I locked my Xperia so when I connect my Xperia to computer, with ActiveSync, it gives me the "Your device is curently Locked. To connect to or to synchronize with PC, please unlock your device.", but I can no type the password because my screen is broken. I tryed to type it with keyboard (the lower part of Xperia works) but there is no "Unlock" button like it was on the touch screen. I know that the keyboard works because the Xperia makes sound when I press enter and the keboard lightens up when I slide the uper part to open it. I know what my password is but can not confirm it... I tryed enter... ok... but nothing works... does anyone know wich button on the keyboard works? Can people that have Xperia X1 try wich one works... because I am working blind here
Is there a programm that maybe displays the screen of the Xperia on the PC screen so that I can type the password on the PC?
I don't want to hard reset because then I will lose all my data. And I also don't want to take my phone to repairshop before I duplicate my data.
Please help. If there is help
You could use mymobiler to display the screen of the xperia on your pc but I fear it won't work while your device is locked. Nevertheless you could try it.

[Q] Lock screen time

One thing I miss from my HTC is the option to have the lock code screen come in to action after a set time rather than instantly
is it possible to do this on the O2x with the without installing another app
It gets annoying having to enter the unlock code each time the screen goes off
would rather have it set to lock after 10 mins or so

You can change the lock screen delay (if this is what you meant) in the settings/display menu. You'll see the screen timeout setting there.
You should also post stuff like this in the Q and A section, not general.
What i'm after is for the phone to lock with a security code after a preset time. not every time the screen switches off
This is what happened with my HTC
Press power button to wake up screen
Swipe to unlock
Enter Unlock code
Phone unlocks
If you locked the phone and unlocked it again within a preset time, you didn't have to enter the unlock code
With the O2x you have to enter the unlock code every time you swipe to unlock
I know you can disable the security code completely but I don't want to do this

[Q] How to get back old lock screen

Hi,
I upgraded to Android 5.0.2 today.
Before upgrading, the lock screen would ask for a PIN right away.
Right after hitting the power button I could type the PIN.
After the upgrade, I need to swipe the padlock in order to
getting to see the number keyboard and the PIN field.
Any way to have the num keys right away like it was before
and avoid the time wasting swipe?
Thanks

Screen not locking

I'm having a problem, when the screen sleeps the phone does not lock. I can turn it on by pressing the power key, and the phone will go straight into the home screen after swiping the lockscreen..it does not asks for the pin (which I have setup) and there is no need for fingerprint sensor to read my finger....ive tried all the setting...I must be doing something wrong (some times it works...but rarely).....the phone is all stock UK.
Do you have any Bluetooth device setup with smart unlock? My Garmin watch and some earphones are set for me so I can unlock without finger or code as long as devices are in range of Bluetooth and connected

Aah...yes I do...I have a watch that is connected.
Thanks for that
