I ordered a replacement battery online which came with an inverted socket (the + position is in minus, and the - position is in plus) So I attached it in reverse and the phone boots up and goes to miui logo and then turns itself off. Is the battery bad or is there any other issue? Connecting to the charger is charging the battery, but it won't boot.
Moreover, now when I am trying to start my phone with the old battery, it boots up for a second and then goes off. Phone does not even vibrate (It is vibrating with the new battery but not going past miui logo) The MI Logo comes and it goes off. the old original battery is not charging also now.
I am on the latest version of MIUI 12.0.3 Any help on this would be truly appreciated as this is my primary device and finding another new battery is very difficult at present with so many trade restrictions in place in India. Thanks in advance.
PS: I do not want to lose my data and the phone was working fine before. Just the battery backup was bad.

Hey, I dropped my atrix hd flat on its face on a rug and now it just won't turn on. When I plugged in the wall charger the green charge light comes on and then the Motorola duel core boot sign comes on and the it shuts off and repeats the same process. So it constantly repeats the reboot only as far as the Motorola sign. The phone was rooted and the bootloader and the sim carrier is unlocked. It's running kit kat Ron I think was CM. When I unplugged the phone it just shuts off like I removed the battery. I will order another battery but this one is only a few months old so how can it be that or how even is it possible to ruin my phone with a simple drop? It's dropped harder before but this is just weird. Please help.
Did you do the EB40 mod?
Have you tried to go into recovery and/or bootloader mode?
Fixed
So I ordered a new battery even though I just replaced this one and come to find out that the battery has a sticker to hold the battery in place for the HD models. I guess I forgot to do it the first time changing it and when I dropped it I guess it damaged the battery ribbon. With the new battery it works fine and I made sure it is stuck. Thanks for you replies.
So, here's what happened.
I have a N7000 and it's charger port stopped working a semester ago. So I bought a new one and replaced it. Everything went back to normal.
Now yesterday I was using my phone and it discharged (It discharges even while charging and browsing the internet for example), but I was talking with someone and I had to get back ASAP and conclude the conversation. So I took a older battery that's stuffed and pluged it in and finished what I was doing.
The thing is, now that I connect the newer battery (3 months old, original), I get stuck on a battery logo loop. The battery icon shows up with the circle that rotates in the middle, then the screen gets brighter, flickers a little (My phone always flicker at 25%~ battery) and goes black. Then it starts again and again in a loop.
The stuffed battery still works and is charging fine, with that said, I'm sure I don't have any problems with the charging port/cables/chargers.
I believe this has happened once before but I can't remember the procedure to fix it. Does anyone?
Thank you!

It almost sounds from what your describing like the charger block (not the cable itself) is not sending enough power down the cable, I would try either a different block or even a 2 amp charger block just to make sure.
the phone turned off today after the screen started to flicker.
I noticed the battery was also flat.
ever since then it will not turn on, the best I have got is when I plug it in after 30min it shows up that it is in charge mode but that comes and goes.
as soon as I try calibrating it just goes off and doesn't do anything, nothing has brought the phone back to life . is there anything else I can do?
it now keeps booting back to charge when i do the battery calibration.... does this mean the phone is broke or just flat?
when it trys to turn on the screen gos blue after the logo and then turns off......
ok now the phone is back buti have to have the charger in otherwise it turns straight off
If Im understanding, you have to keep the device connected to charger to have it booted up and working else it turns off, if so then possibly hardware failure, battery terminals seem to be malfunctioning, will need repairs no technical fix as I understand.
yeah been told it will cost me £30 to replace battery
Either the charger-cable-connector bit is unreliable (do you have other chargers and cables?) or the battery itself is so broke that it doesn't store electricity any longer.
The latter usually usually doesn't come by surprice. Was battery life very short before this incident?
Hi.
I have a major problem with my HTC One M7. I had been using Tesla OS for quite some time, and decided to upgrade it. All of it seemed to work fine. However, just as I declined a coming call, the screen turned black. I was able to enter hboot/fastboot screen, but when I have tried to turn it on, the OS image just flashes and it turns off again. Same is with the TWRP, a loading screen is visible for a split second, and it just goes black. Everything seems to work fine when I completely discharge it to 0% and charge it back on again. I have done a factory reset and flashed a stock ROM, but the problem persists, after some time the screen just goes black and it is the same all over again (the image of OS/TWRP comes on for a sec and then the screen goes black). The only solution so far is to charge it out (by leaving it on the white hboot screen) and then charge it again, but it is impossible to use the phone like that. Maybe someone has already overcome this problem or has any ideas on how to do it? Any help will be appreciated!
Replace battery
Hello.
I had same problem about 2 monts ago. Phone were charged about 40% and after taking photo or any other activity it's turning off and after connecting to charger it was show 0%. So I highly recomend to replace battery. I bought on ebay[dot]com from seller - eforcity about 5$.
Till yesterday my Mi A2 worked flawlessly. The phone went out of battery so I tried to charge it but it had stuck on battery charging screen (the one without the %, in b/w). When I tried to boot it up it arrived till android one logo and then it returned to the battery charging screen.
After that I tried to let it charge for a while, I tried to boot it up another time but now the phone seems dead. When I try to start it it doesn't anything except a double blink of the led (white).
I don't know what to do know, can't access to recovery, fastboot etc. It was running last september patch (full stock).
I've bought it trough amazon but I can't really stay without the phone for days, if there is a way to recover the phone I will save much time.
Thanks
