Question Anyone getting the Sm-G9980 (Exynos dual SIM)? - Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra

I havent seen any comments on it yet. Waiting for mine to arrive. Its the HK version. Like Note 20 Ultra its snapdragon like the US version but dual sim like the European version (with similar bands, so it wont get 5G in the US). Snapdragon dual sim Note 20 Ultra has been great but it is literally the last version to get upgraded (its still on android 10 today).

Yep. Got mine yesterday. The exact model number is SM-G998B/DS

No, that's not the same. That's the dual sim exynos version. Yours is 998B/ds. 9980 is the dual sim snapdragon (whenever they add the 0 it's the Chinese snapdragon version).

Any there any review compare directly 9980 snapdragon adn 998B exynos 2100? Are there difference?

Some users are stating the SM-G9980 in the US on T-mobile's network are getting the 5G. As far as performance the Snapdragon and Exynos SoC's are comparable however the Snapdragon devices will deliver superior gaming due to their improved CPU. AnTuTu comparisons reflect the difference.

top 10 in 2013 VS 2014
Why note 4 in 4th
And why it score only 44669
exynos 7 better than this
Shame in real life the Note 4 (Snapdragon version) is a lot slower than the benchmarks would suggest.
Sluggish OS performance and sluggish game performance put's it well below it's place in the benchmarks in my book.
HTC One M8 at the very least frankly shows it up when it comes to speed and fluidity.
A rom, debloat and tweaks makes model f a bit more smooth. But it's sad that you have to. Old N5 or M7-8 is another league, so it's down to TouchWiz. For some this a deal breaker and for some not. I hope that A5 will change this a bit.
You never know

PS. I also have the MX4 and sadly it has a slower gpu than cpu.

Under 45000? People must be bench marking in a sauna. I will always get 49xxx-50000.
This was at room temp and device temp was normal.. Not sure what was going on here but I mostly get around 48-49000

That's scary! Did you put it in the freezer just long enough for it to reach 0C and then get the phone out to do the test....
My Exynos was always at 49k, now after the ultimate kernel and 1080p resolution it gets 52k every time. 45k? That must be SnapD.

W280 Vs W280A

What are the differences between W280 and W280A?
Looking on the LG website, the only 2 models I see are W280A and W280V. I'm assuming those are for AT&T and Verizon, respectively. Where did you see one that was just W280 with no letter after it?
W280 is the original Google Store version. completely carrier free. W280A is the AT&T version, it ships with an AT&T SIM installed.

Ah, ok, thanks for the clarification. I missed out on buying it from Google so I got a W280A from Amazon. It's unlocked and I have it working on T-Mobile. Do you know if there is any actual difference other than it shipping with an AT&T SIM?

I have the Google version, so can't speak authoritatively on the AT&T version. From what I understand AT&T uses some "numbersync" software to sync watch calls with your phone number, so if there is anything pre-installed for that, you won't need it on T-Mobile. Mine is running Wear 2.5.0.172604017 Android 7.1.1 Build NQF43O which I believe is the latest production release for US models.

Selling my Snapdragon for an Exynos?

Hi there,
I've had a Galaxy S10+ Exynos version 128GB for a week then sold it to import a Hong Kong variant (Snapdragon) as the battery life on LTE on the Exynos was bad.
On the Snapdragon the battery is superb, but no VoLTE or carrier aggregation (4G+). The 4G speeds suck so bad. Also the keyboard was a bummer for me, didn't know it'd be like this and unchangeable whatsoever unless I use a 3rd-party keyboard.
So, I am considering selling this Snapdragon again for an Exynos one (and I would try to manage to live with its no-so-good battery on LTE). Because what's the benefit of long battery life if I won't use LTE anyways? And for the gaming performance, I do not game that much.
What do you think?
Have you tried to flash different firmware or switching carriers? I don't believe the Snapdragon variant would impact LTE speeds.

ROG Phone 3 16/512 version- Snapdragon 865 or Snapdragon 865+

Hi all, just bought a ROG Phone 3 (sku 6A027WW) and ran AIDA64 on it. AIDA says that the CPU is a vanilla Snapdragon 865? I thought the 16/512 model have a Snapdragon 865+? Can anyone shed some light on this? Kinda concerned that the shop may have hoodwinked me...
Elite Edition: 2.84Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Octa-core processor, 12GB+128GB, without AeroActive Cooler 3.
Classic Edition: 3.1Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus Octa-core processor, 12GB+128GB, 12GB+256GB, without AeroActive Cooler 3.
Strix Edition: 3.1Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus Octa-core processor, 12+512GB, 16+512GB, with an AeroActive Cooler 3

Ah, okay. I know I got an AeroActive Cooler 3, but 16+512 is strix? Mine doesn't say Strix on it, just Republic of Gamers.
I have the Classic ROG 3 with SD865+ (256GB/12GB.) I tested your app and it says SD865. It's wrong...
---------- Post added at 04:26 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:20 AM ----------
btw if you go into your Settings - System - About Phone - Hardware Info. You will see your CPU is running at 3.1Ghz
Noted. Strange...
Nothing strange look at the cpu clock if its 3.1ghz than 8ts okay even if the apps says 865

LOW BENCHMARK SCORE ONE UI 3.0

After ONE UI 3.0 the geekbench benchmark of the S20 FE 5G SNAPDRAGON 865 is very low, comparing to the past ONE UI 2.5
The multi- core is the worst.
Been getting results like
SINGLE CORE: 851
MULTI CORE: 2783
Weird that when Europe gets the first samsung with a snapdragon version available, it gets bottleneck like this?
Seems more like samsung is trying to hide the performance difference between EXYNOS and SNAPDRAGON. The multi core performance now looks like exynos 990

Unfortunately... Not so global... Especially for the US.
Although your multi-core score is a bit under 300 less than mine, your single-core score is only 13 less than my S20FE running OneUI 2.5. It could very well be cases of testing anomalies, installed software or testing environment causing differences. Or... It's probably just a case of new OS version that hasn't been entirely ironed out. You still appear to have slightly better scores than Exynos 990 (about midway between Exynos 990 average and my average on multi-core by the look of it), so unless you notice a significantly worse battery life, I wouldn't assume that Samsung has succeeded in dumbing down the SD865 to Exynos levels yet. Have a good one!
i'm having the same issue, i posted about it on reddit.

i'm only getting 2600 for multicore (base s20 - snapdragon 865). previously i got 3000
