HTC one doesn't recognize headset

I have strange problem with my headset.. when i bought the phone I try the headset and it's work perfectly but since im not that big fan of headset and i always use the speakers of the phone i didn't use it since.
Today i tried use the headset but when i plug it in the phone didn't recognize it at all (no headset icon in the notification bar) I tried restart the phone no thing happen, so i restart the phone with the headset plug in now it recognized it but the problem even if i remove the headset still the sound seems to produce through it (showing the headset icon in the notification bar) and no sound through speaker.. then I remove it and restart again didn't recognized the headset (no icon in the notification bar) even with the headset plug again after the restart... I tried this like 7-8 times but no luck.
I tried the original HTC headset that come with the phone as well as my HTC one x, my friends galaxy s3 and iphone 5 but no luck also.
any help is appreciated!

I've got a similar issue with the bluetooth car adaptor (HTC A200 Stereo clip). It used to work for both phone calls and music to the stereo, but now it's only connecting as a music device, rather than both audio and phone bluetooth profiles. I'm sure it's a simple fix if you know how...

[SOLVED]No media sound/Phone thinks headphones are connected but they are not

I was using cm and at first i thought it's the problem with cm build so i flashed stock rom. That didnt help. Speaker is not dead, there is sound when phone is ringing but there is no sound while playing media and during calls so i figure out it looks like phone is thinking that headphones are connected but they are not. Plugging and unplugging headphones couple of times didnt help. Putting phone in safe mode didnt help, tried to blow headphone jack with vacuume cleaner (i have nothing better) and it didnt help. I am out of options, any ideas guys?
I cannot believe, it worked:

Headset (earphone) issues after disconnecting from Bluetooth device

I am facing a strange problem on my V40 (Indian variant).
It has no issues in connecting to my car's head-unit automatically (after the initial pairing), however, once i get out of my car (Bluetooth still on) and then plug-in my earphones (headset which came with the box), it thinks i am connected to a call and shows the "in-call" volume controls whenever i try to adjust volume. Also, the sound is very distorted at lower levels (<10%) and toggling the quad-dac option does not have an effect..
This persists even if i switch off blue tooth on my phone.
Only if i do a restart, the phone again recognizes the earphones properly (and quad-dac works again).
Tried this with various headsets (earphones with mic) and result is same; also tried clearing cache/doing a factory reset but the problem still persists. Note that it doesn't happen when I plug-in a earphone/headset without mic (it works properly as expected); but the issue is when we plug-in an earphone with mic.
Are any of you facing a similar issue, i googled but could not find a resolution. :crying:

Speaker and Earpiece NOT WORKING

So I encountered this problem today. Was watching a YouTube video and then paused it, spoke to my dad for a few seconds, resumed the video and BAM! The sound was gone. First I thought there's some problem with the video or the app. Replayed the video and also restarted the app, none worked. Rebooted the phone, the Nokia jingle didn't come at the boot screen. Starting to freak out, I booted into safe mode, this time the jingle did come and speakers and Earpiece both were working just fine. So it seemed a software issue and in the hopes that now everything would be fine, rebooted the phone into the normal mode. Rebooted into normal mode and NOPE! No audio via the speakers or the Earpiece. Tried calling and it worked on the speakerphone however when I'd disable the speakerphone, I couldn't hear anything nor the person on the other end. Although, when I get a call, the speakers are working just fine. As of writing this, the problem still persists where Audio through Earpiece and speakerphone is not coming. Tried the following : 1. Reboot 2. Reboot into safe mode. 3. Plug in/out earphones for atleast 10-20 times. 4. Dial some *#*# number to check the Earpiece. Nothing seems to work. Please help if anyone of you have encountered this issue. Seems a software issue though.
Well, booted into safe mode once again( Nokia jingle came this time) and played a song.(sound through the speakers came nice and clear). Powered off the phone and then powered it back on(Nokia jingle did come) and, VOILA! Everything has started working although afraid to put the earphones into the jack. Let's see, will keep you all updated.

hey i would just suggest that you don't panic and do what i did (read the above two posts). it should start working without any problems.
hehe. yeah. I have contacted their customer support and they suggest me to do a soft reset. however I failed to do so-I guess, for theres a red warning sign in my android that showed up while im doing the reset with stated "no command" below.
Will try the above procedures when I encounter it again.(its working fine now. after constant restart.lol)
I haven't tried inserting earphones tho.
thanks a lot'
Same problem , any solutions?
Try doing what's written in the second post. It could've been a fluke in my case but fortunately it did work and that issue has never come up ever since.

Weird problem, no "media" related sounds. Alarm, calls, ringtone work perfectly

Weird problem, no "media" related sounds. Alarm, calls, ringtone work perfectly
Hello, for some reason in the last couple of days i can hear no media related sound.
What's weird though is that i can hear normally call sounds, phone ringing and alarm.
The issue started while on the latest version of MIUI. I thought this was related with operating system so I installed Pixel Experience 10 (through complete wipe out, even internal storage). The problem persists there as well.
After looking around, it looks like people had similar issue when the phone mistakenly thought headphones were connected. As it turns out, this is not the case with me. (see 2nd post)
Edit #2:
It looks like it's indeed the "earphone mode" thats causing the problem. Using the aerphone mode off app I managed to get media sound playing again. The problem now is that as soon as i close the app, earphone phone turns back on. Any ideas for permanent fix are welcome.
Thanks
looking around, it looks like the phone might somehow got stuck in like "headphones connected" mode.
I've never connected in the past with any kind of headphones, but i got the charging port changed.
In any case i've tried connecting and disconnecting with Bluetooth headphones but didn't solve the problem.
I will see if i can get my hands on any type-c ones and try again.
Edit: i see there is an option to select the audio output device, and the phone is the only choice, so the headphones mode wasn't the problem
