Reboot problems = incompatibility between Froyo (2.2) and Tegra2 according to LG Aus

"LG Aus irons bugs out of Optimus 2X
World's first dual-core phone on sale downunder.
LG Australia has finally broken its silence over ongoing problems with the Optimus 2X, which Guiness World Records acknowledges as the world’s first dual-core smart phone.
Users overseas and locally who had bought the product through eBay and other online sources reported a number of issues with the phone including random power-offs.
The Korean company subsequently released a patch, however, many users continued to report malfunctions.
LG Australia marketing director Brad Read confirmed that the problems related to the incompatibility of the phone's software – developed with Google’s Android 2.2 Froyo – and the handset's dual core processor.
For several weeks LG Australia’s Facebook page has been peppered with customer complaints, however, LG only acknowledged the problem on the social networking site yesterday.
One reader said he was selling his Optimus 2X for $1 on eBay as a paperweight.
Read, however, said that all of the problems had now been ironed out.
An updated software fix had been installed in phones shipped to Australia with no customers buying locally expected to have any problems.
The Optimus 2X goes on sale this week at Harvey Norman and was expected to soon become available through other outlets including mobile carriers.
Its price tag in Australia would be around $650.
Notwithstanding the software compatibility issues, the Optimus 2X was expected to generate much kudos for LG in the highly competitive mobile phone market, and woo users with its promise of dramatically faster management of mobile apps and downloading of web content."

So it seems to be a driver/kernel/software problem?
But when are we getting it??

Could anyone living in Australia confirm this?
The explanation seems kinda vague to me, not to mention the timing. They say the fix it just in time for the Australian launch? Sounds like a publicity thing to me. People who use custom roms with gingerbread still have the reboot problems, right?

come on...custom rom with gingerbread its very diferrent than stock..dont forget that is CM7 nightly version and it has very different commits and drivers and blah blah..i also suffered by reboot issues in the very first start using nightly cm gingerbread but if you will try the last build you will see that random reboots it has been fixed..at least for me!i dont get any random reboots..!with stock rom also i didnt got even once a random reboot..!
cm7 it has nothing to do with stock froyo and even if when stock gingerbread will be released!
But why should we accept a flagship phone that have known fatal problems?
u know, the price of first batch is about 30% higher than now.
And we always face the sudden dead when charging.
LG should have solved this issue before selling.

absolutely not for LG..but for the cyanogenmod team i am very possitive..!!if i have to believe for LG's future then i must first see the stock gingerbread rom when they will release it..but i have a good feeling that it would be cool and optimised with our tegra2 better than froyo...!
but you must stop complaining...every device has its ****s..not only LG2X..!
tell me the ultimate device with 100% working condition without bugs and lags..!!
i think there is one..the NOKIA 3310

man, then u probably could have bought your o2x half a year later. it is obvious, if one looks a the stock software of the o2x, that LG was trying to throw it on the market fast, to be the first dual core phone - to generate max profit.

Well, for now, they just *said* they have released a fix. And it's not the first time. So, until there's any proof of it, you're right, it is very hard to believe, even with a strong effort.

Don't bother with Edangel, he rants about how great his O2x is in almost every topic. In his own little world.
theres a couple of guys who have bought the australian version over at the whirlpool forums http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=1598794&p=22#r434, i have asked them to post what version they are running, if these issues are fixed with the new update then i would expect these phones to be running it, but i think that is unlikley, would like to know what LG australia has done to iliminate these problem in the aus version yet the rest of the world has to wait, llike others here i'm very warey of LG's 'it's fixed it's fixed' statements

I got all the ones without oil and damaged engines and flat tires...
Or in other words an used car for the price of a new one ;-)
Is this normal phenomenal for this branch or only for this particular car.
Well after owned many, I dare to say that all engines where new and not broken...Sometimes a flat tire
I don't trust that the mechanic will fix this engine
Well this ends the metaphor and leaves us waiting for that magical O2X fix :-(

one of the australain guys who purchased in aus has posted that his version V10b, isn't that the stock rom that launched with the phone ?, so how have LG australia manged to fix a phone with so many problems and still be using Version V10b, when a lot of us have applied what LG stated was a fix for the issues in version V10d

[q] sgs2 hardware manufacture issues

hey everyone
i am planning to buy the i9100 version as soon as its available in my country but thought that i make this so you users who already have it can tell me what issues do you have with it be it issues that are for all users or certain defects that i should test for as soon as i get mien for a possible replacement
now already heard about an overheating issue that few reported here
can you confirm this and how to test it on a new device ?
any display issues ? mostly talking dead pixels ?
so plz post what ever issue you had with your device and its not with everyone else (so not looking for software bugs or like in general its lags on certain stuff but i want hardware issue to be aware of so i dont end up with a broken phone)
thanks
LOL sorry guys meant to post it in sgs2 q+a forums ignore this unless you know something

[Q] 5L for RAZR-I. Why not?

Are any restrictions for 5L in Razr-I ?
No restrictions on the hardware side. Go forward and do it.
A more serious problem is the missing manpower, to solve some problems because the source is not complete (cf. here).
I am always wondering why people think that it is self evident that someone will make perfect custom rom if the hardware allows it (kudos to them who do).

Thanks a lot for your answer! Until we are wondering we are living. The number of RAZR-I owner who are interesting in L5 is more then who are interesting in proper work of 4.4. beta (acc to threads list ) It is a magic our hardware allowance, isn't it?
If they are really keen on doing it, i'm sure they can. But at this point I just don't think it's worth it. Considering it is a 2 years old device. The more popular S3 didn't even get 4.4 and is stuck at 4.3, and that is around the same age as the RAZR i. They announced the 4.4.2 for RAZR i a long time back, and till now it is not out yet, which shows how little resources are being dedicated to bringing more updates to the RAZR i. I'm pretty sure 4.4.2 update when it does roll out will be the last update for the device.
I would be happy with a 4.4.2 with as little bugs as possible.
there's no hope, i remember in somehow that i read, this is the last upgrade to Ri, there's no more future plans to update this device...
but don't worry, maybe we can port 5L to Ri...
..."maybe"
The phone simply does not Cut it Performance wise. All those Animations...

[Opinion Request] Best Model and ROM(s)?

I'm a engineer for fun, and after I found out T-Mobile will be merging with Sprint, I decided to upgrade from my GSIII to a Note5 based on modability, compatibility, and my repair skills being sufficient enough to maintain it long-term.
But, I wanna know from you guys which model is the best overall in your opinion (Specifically thinking of GSM network compatibility and ROM availability) and what is the best performing ROM for that model in your opinion?
(I also hope to use a GearVR headset I got free from a relative, so bonus points for native ROM compatibility with that, but it's not mandatory.)
The international models (SM-N920G/C) getting all attention and the stock rom is the most powerful/stable, but u can try other roms and the rest will be at your discretion

Question Planning on getting a mi 11 in 2023

It's within my budget and has all the features I want, but since it has 888 was wondering if the heating issue was fixed with the latest firmware or not, and if it wasn't will a custom ROM fix it?.
If there are other phones you recommend within a $550 range that is bootloader unlockable and with custom ROMs available please feel free to suggest them.

No. Custom ROM doesn't fix hardware issues.

No. As the comment above said, it cannot.
In fact, the default camera quality is not up to mark at all. Some of the new midrange phones have a much better color quality and detail than this phone. I regret since I bought this for more than 800$.
