Hi everyone, I have a problem with the phone, after dropping the phone it stopped signaling the SIM card. I tried to change the software with several software and all the same. After dropping the top of the phone had come out of the phone case, the panel was bent, the screen was intact. I removed the motherboard several times and did not see anything problematic. If anyone can direct me where to look or if he can tell me where the antennas of the sim networks are. I want to note that the name of the operator is displayed without coverage.
Thanks in advance.

Okey so ive had my diamond for 3 weeks and have had this issue. The device worked fine for 2 weeks except for this problem that it keeps dropping the connection and just says "no service" but when i disable and re-enable the phone radio i get full signal. However one time the device froze and i had to soft reset. After which it said the "sim card is missing, you can make emergency calls if your service provider supports it" when the sim card was in the phone. I tried resets and cleaning the sim all to no avail. So after not being able to find anyone else with this problem i figured it must be my old 2g sim that had been causing the problems so i went and purchased a new 3g sim from my service provider (mobilezone [switzerland]) and inserted it into the device. Everything starts working again and i figure the problem is fixed. However the phone continues to drop the signal again and again over the next few days and finally kills the sim card again, and displays the same "sim missing..." error. So i have now taken it back to the retailer and they say there seems to be no issue with the device as the technichen inserts a new sim and everything works fine. The thing is that the sim cards are completely broken. They no longer work in any device!!! But it took 2 weeks the first time and 3 days the second, so the technicians agreed to test the device for a couple days, im just sure its gna work fine for that amount of time but screw up again after when i use it again. Can anyone provide any insight into this? I speculate that its perhaps an issue with my service provider since they do not have their own network but use orange (switzerland) with their custom network settings, and when configuring the device the WM6 connection wizard only has 3 options and my provider is not listed, so i use the orange config settings, which i thought may be slightly different and cause problems. Ideas?!?!?
Thanks in advance.
Sam

If it helps, I had to have a new sim to use it in my new phone (not the diamond, a nokia) because it didn't work properly, as it was a relatively old sim.
Hi did you ever get your sim problem sorted, have been experiencing same,
except my sim still work on other phones?
I recently sold my Unlocked AT&T HTC 8925 with HTC ROM. I've been using it on Tmobile network for a year with no issues.
The guy i sold it too is on CENTENNIAL WIRELESS in Norther Indiana. When he puts in his sim card it says SIM MISSING. when he does auto config, it says something about not being able to find operator or something. When he goes to connection set up and disable auto config....CENTENNIAL is not in his list of operators. It only shows ATT, TMOBILE, and CAROLINA.
are we missing something on making this phone work??
thanks!!
Anyone have a clue on what to do ???
i once had the same issue
i bought 3 tilts and one of them wouldn't recognize the sim. All you have to do is push down on the metal band that holds the sim in place until it pushes down on the sim when its in place. Probably, the problem is that the sim isn't making good contact with the metal connector thingies on the phone. So, just take out the sim, push down on the band a bit, slide the sim back in, and turn on your phone. That should fix it. Other than that... i have no idea besides trying a different radio.

PHone works just fine with a Tmo sim card. He tried a friends Centennial sim and it recognized it.
Sounds like there is something wrong with his SIM
Hey guys,
my Samsung Galaxy Note 8 was on the table, when the AVG-Anti Theft alarm started suddenly.
I thought that it is just a bug and unlocked my phone, using the PIN, that I set when setting up AVG.
Now, the intetesting part starts:
I was not able, to connect my phone to the carrier-network (let's call it carrier A), which means I can't call anybody or send SMS or do anything, a phone is supposed to do.
At thirst, I thought that the sim card must be defect and tried to put it into another phone. The other phone did not have any problems, connecting to the network.
My second thought was that the modem or something like that in my phone has a defect, which is causing the issues. Oh boy, was I wrong, as every other carriers sim cards are working with the Note 8. I do have 3 sim cards from carrier A and each one from carrier B and C. All three cards from carrier A are not working, but B and C are.
Then I decided to call the carrier A support, which assured that my phone is causing the problems, rather than their network.
Afterwards, I tried hard resetting my phone and even re-flashing the stock ROM did not do anything.
I would appreciate any help.
P. S. I'm sorry, if my English is not that good, it is a foreign language for me.
Looks like it is the avg app that is causing the trouble, have you contacted de developer?
Contacted AVG
Yes I did contact the AVG support, but have not got an answer yet. But do you think that AVG could make such changes to the system, which would persist, even after a factory reset/ re-flash?
Hi
I have been having issues with my Note8. It loses the cellular network periodically, and doesnt acquire it back. A reboot is required to get the network back but then doesnt last long. I have tried most everything. Listed in order
1. Reseating the Sim / Removing the SD card to check if that was an issue
2. Switching network from 4G to 3G to see if that was the issue
3. Factory reset a few times, including once while not installing apps and letting the phone run with less apps
4. Changing SIMs
5. Changing SIM tray with an S8
6. Using another network sim card
7. Running the phone in Safe mode.
I have exhausted everything that I can have done. Any other thoughts or suggestions?
Phone is within warranty so I can get it fixed, but the issue is that I live in a different country now and they will charge to just take a look at the phone.
Side effect is that while hunting for the network, the phone gets hot and runs down the battery.
I am hoping that there might be a software issue, as the phone does connect to the network for a while before losing connection.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks a lot.
It looks like you have done all of the obvious stuff - it's starting to sound like a hardware fault to me.
Thanks! My worst fear unfortunately.
Was hoping someone might have a software solution or something else which I could try but...
i had same problem with 2 x galaxy s8
after they test for a month and big fighting with those F customer care
they replaced 1 with sealed box and the other one they changed the motherboard which doesn't help , still same problem
i sold both

Hi, fisrt of all I'm sorry if this is not the right site for this thread, I have a P30 pro VOG-L04 that doesn't detect any sim card, I hope someone can help me to solve this issue, I just bought the phone, the person that sell me the phone already told me from that issue, I already checked the sim board and eveything looks good, thank's in advance.
If the device isn't SIM locked then I suggest you check wether the SIM card is properly touching the gold part on the board. You can add some tape to the top of the SIM to make it bulkier. Good luck
Hi, thanks for the help, I already change the sim reader, but nothing happened, a friend of mine tell me that maybe the modem gone wrong, and that's why the phone don't detect the sim any idea how to repair the modem??
Hi friends, sorry to ask but, did someone have the p30 pro schematics? Or the repair manual, I want to see the movil network diagram, maybe I can repair my phone
i know im late but i had this problem for two days after coming back from vacation from a humid place. it seems that the sim board needed reconnecting. what i did (lil technical background) is i opened the back with a heat gun and unscrewed the bottom right part on the phone where the sim tray is and disconnected and reconnected all the wiring on that section. Shame i didnt do this before i formatted the phone before but i hope this helps someone else coz now everything is working as usual. (nothing needs to be removed, just the connections need to be disconnected and reconnected)
