Just curious do they do monthly? Quarterly? Or whenever they feel like?
As a side note what is up with the major battery drain for the AoD?
'Till now it's about monthly.

I received the Sprint OTA update 'N950USQU2BQJB' a few days ago here in California which carried a security patch and Google Play Services update version 11.7.46 which has been terrible on my battery and particularly Pixel XL & OnePlus users as well as other devices according to online reports.
Have you updated to these versions and seen a dip In your battery life like many others have?
And If so, have you seen any difference in performance after updating your device with Google's latest security patch update 'N950USQS2BQK3' which has started to roll out to Sprint customers today (12/04/17)?
Will this fix the issue of battery drain Sprint users have been experiencing in the past several weeks in your opinion?
Thanks.
I'm tempted to get a V40, as it ticks a lot of boxes (actually the 3.5mm jack box pretty much only leaves samsung & lg on board). How much do you expect the cameras to improve as software gets updated (by the time the price drops)? Currently from what I've seen they're ok, but they seem to have too much sharpening (huge halos specially on the tele), and the color is very different on each camera., and there seems to be a focus issue when you do the triple shot thing. I much experience with LG and I see everyone complaining about their lack and delayed updates.
There already is an update to the cameras. As a matter of fact I think I read that multiple camera updates will be ready the day the phone is released. Now when you get the update from a carrier is anyone's guess.
They improve quickly and drastically

Hai. Any one received 9.0.0.188 firmware update? noticed any impact on battery life?
No impact on battery
.188 only security patch update
What impact?
Battery is awesome, unbelievable actually with .188, I have 68% left with 3 hours 2 mins SOT
I'm still on the .183 update, do you have a screenshot of the changelog? Just curious to know what's new? Thanks
Greetings, the latest 188 update, because my device is still like this. Why do you still know that the March update did not come?
Hi all,
I wonder if you guys still using this phone as your daily driver? And how do you feel about its performance?which rom are you using?
Mine is on havoc and its not so responsive.
I consider buying a new one but still waiting to this notch era to end (no notch no drop no mechanical slide, etc.)
*** My battery is at its 900 cycle, and it has 2xxx something capacity left, I wonder if there is "battery scandle" like apple use to have? ***

I too am using Havoc OS 2.3 and performance is pretty good. Most games run pretty well with the exception of a few games like PUBG and Shadowguns: Legends. Regular applications are very snappy. But that isn't to say there are any problems with using Pie, most notably bad heating issues when watching youtube videos and severe instability issues.
Even my battery shows that it has only 2605 mAh capacity and I definitely feel the loss in capacity with my phone barely lasting for more than half a day.
As for your performance issues, check your kernel setting or try flashing a different kernel or just do a clean flash of the ROM.
which kernel are you using? , I'm always do a clean flash every time but do the OTA update couple time, will it effect my phone performance using OTA update?

Mine is on latest stock ROM and it just returned from the authorized service center due to a problem on the screen. I replaced the screen the battery.
It's my daily driver and for me it works as new. It's very, I mean VERY responsive and I don't feel that I need a new one. I just would buy a new one to have the latest tech on my hands regarding screen, camera and so on.
Stock OOS. Just as fast and responsive as it was when I got it 2 years ago. Any "slowdown" can probably be attributed to the fact that apps and even websites hog up more and more device resources every year. I can't detect any slowdown due to Apple-style "throttling".
Of course, a newer device will always feel faster and smoother. We often don't realize how much our devices "lag", until we make that switch. But personally, I'm still happy with the performance on the 3T. It does everything I need it to, and don't plan to upgrade my device in the near future.
Hello guys,
I pretty much love my new pixel device.
However ever since I received it, it turns damn warm just by surfing on the I internet. Surely that's partly due to the metallic body. So I checked the CPU temperature which always 37°C +.
Just wondering: Are You experiencing the same?
Never had a phone feeling so hot
Cheers

Sorry to hear it. I'm not a heavy user but haven't experienced any heating issue with it whilst surfing / messaging. Gets slightly warm when fast charging but thats about it.
Mine got way too warm (i'd even call it hot) from a Duo video call. Looking at the battery consumption, there was a serious drain during that call caused by Duo. Obviously, the CPU went crazy. I don't know whether this was a Duo bug or the CPU i stressed by this HQ video calls. Any similar experiences so far?
Yes. Mine is very warm browsing the Web. Battery life is the worst I've experienced on any phone, and my screen protudes away from the frame on the top left corner.

That sounds awful. My build quality is fine and battery life is stellar. I would consider returning it. Maybe the battery will be improved by a software update but that still leaves the poor build quality and possible lack of waterproofing.

Yes,software update will fix everything, lol..
Update: Had another Duo video call today and the phones did not get unusual warm. There also was no considerable battery drain. Seemed to be a big yesterday.
BTW: Battery life is stellar! Even with my Samsung smartwatch permanently connected, my Pixel 5 easily survives the whole day with 30% left in the evening. If you gut battery drain, I suggest resetting the phone.
I received a software update this morning...I reckon that solved it for the moment

I think it's the play store.

The update was for Google play system updates. It's part of Project mainline. Basically Google broke out some of the system pieces that it didn't want vendors to be capable of holding back. They push updates to those pieces themselves as they see fit. This is the first one I've ever seen though.
I'm having the same issue, it gets warm when I'm browsing the web or even just browsing through my photo gallery. Been trolling the web to see if anyone is having the same issue, this is the first post I found. Nothing on YouTube.
Mine gets very warm when playing a game or after a video call (battery drain is high) other then that it's fine for normal usage surfing web etc. Battery life is still stellar overall for me
