Hi, I just dont get it. Xperia is made by HTC, has the same Qualcomm CPU, and same camera. Why the hell can Xperia record video at VGA 30 FPS, but Diamond can only Cif 15 FPS? And more, Xperia can play video in WVGA DVD-like bitrate, which is at least 1.5Mb , But Diamond barely can run 1 Mb VGA video. Why? Again - Same CPU.
I don't think the CPU is the bottleneck here, but the GPU

i don't why you say Xperia is made by HTC. It's Sony Ericsson and correct me if i m wrong.
For the whys, I guess xperia has some kinda dedicated graphics GPU and more RAM to work all this out.

The Experia is in fact produced by HTC, but distibuted by SE
Xperia is made by HTC FOR Sony Ericsson. HTC made it. Yes, Xperia has 256 MB RAM, but I dont tnihk this is it. I am almost sure this is not. Diamond´s 192 is not low number. GPU? It has the same GPU as Diamond. 7201A CPU are dual-core, one core is processor core, and the second one is GPU core. And more, Loox 720 (siemens) can play video VGA 1,5 Mb at 120%, but Diamond only 92%, same displays. And that loox 720 has PXA 520MHz Xscale CPU, 3 years old CPU is way better than brand new 7201A even in QTv mode. HTC universal - VGA, 520 MHz Intel Xscale - 114%. Even HTC old device can play video much better than brand new Diamond. F**k HTC.
Seems they have given Diamond users crap drivers
More like crappy chipset. Coreplayer works with hardware directly, and its still worse than with comparison with XScale.
Or just maybe HTC underclocked MSM on Diamond, because otherwise its 900Mah battery wont last even a day
I dont think so. CorePlayer uses some bypass (TyTN 2 driver mode), Myabe some modifications could be done there. I have official text which says that CorePlayer will beter support Diamond (7201A chipset).
I wasnt aware they tested Coreplayer on Xperia, nor that they already have Xperia support there
No, they didn´t. But official materials says that Xperia will be able to play video at VGA resolution with DVD bitrate. Which is much better than Diamond.
Anyway, With same chipset, Xperia still can make better videos than Diamond. About that CorePlayer official text. I wrote them an e-mail, asking for better Diamond 7201A support, and I get this: "Yes we will be working on this version to better work with the device." So maybe we will have some better video playback performance. Who knows. I dont think that chipset is bad, Call Of Duty mobile is smoother on 7201A then on Xscale 520MHz. And MMX can accelerate graphic. I hope that this is all about implementation of the QTv mode. (Becouse this could be solved).
I wouldnt trust what they *say* in PR statements about device that is still in production at all. I still remember very well how they touted Kaiser as "multimedia-rich" device and then tried to slip off when users started to become outraged of how slow it actually was.
Yes, I know, but there is one thing different - it will be "sony ericsson" phone. I think they know what they promis. Anyway, like I said, CorePlayer maybe increase speed of video playback, becou that is the last bad think on diamond. (At least last BIG bad tnihg)
would be nice to have a multi-window like card like touch sleep screen on th Diamond like the Xperia has
Still, any ideas why Diamond and Raphael can not record video at VGA @ 30 FPS, while Xperia witrh SAME CPU can?
Nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is this SPAM ? Or do you really think that a site like this four days later still has no clue about phones that were announced four days ago.
Even though more than a few of it's members were actually at the conference where the phones were announced.
On second thought this has got to be spam.
Its not spam.

Ideos X6 = Ideos x5 pro - fm radio - front cam
This device in comparison to x5 has slightly overclocked processor, front cam (vga probably) and fm radio and these are the pros in comparison to x5.
Cons in comparison to x5, The screen 262k / washed out colors, Camera althogh 5 mp not at par with x5, internal storage 1.09 Gb (2.5 Gb in X5), back button stops responding every now and then (all x6(afaik) have this issue), no official ics (x5 has unofficially supported official ics).
Both the devices at xda are experiencing very slow development.
So if you are planning to buy go for x5.

Hmmm looks interesting but even with ratings and costumers giving it great feedback.........I highly doubt that the one who buys it will get support from the company.
Not saying I wouldn't buy it but I am a HTC user since the HD2 ( had to drop off nokia because of symbian then ) and I have it since then it was launched.
But for now my EVO 3D handels my needs

It seems that there are a lot of devices with Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 Soc (MS8916) that have practically the same specs. Some of the phones are even made by big OEMs like Asus. For example there's the Zenfone 2 ZE500KL, which has the same 5-inch, 1280x720 screen (~294 ppi pixel density) of the Android One gen 2 devices.

There's also the Zenfone 2 ZE550KL, which is practically the same device but with a larger screen, 5.5-inch, 1280x720 screen (~267 ppi pixel density)

So my question, does anybody have a list or link to a forum discussion concerning such devices? This would be interesting from both a developer's and user's perspective since it would allow some unsupported devices to be supported using some minor build configuration tweaks.
Android One devices don't use the Snapdragon 410
As for a list, you can start here then check if each device has a sub forum in xda.
