Hi all,
something that is driving me crazy...
I recently bought a Kia Seltos.
My mobile device is Galaxy S9+
I'm using Waze with my native language - Hebrew (interface and street names)
My phone's language is in English.
I can't perform a voice search in Hebrew in Waze.
I saw other people with my Type of vehicle and setup:
Whenever they press on the steering wheel "voice command" button, and perform a search in Hebrew - it finds the address they were looking for.
When I press the button to search - assistant performs the search in English and doesn't recognize what I asked.
I tried and modified all kind of settings including google settings related to language and voice and nothing helped.
anyone encountered it or can assist?
Thanks!
Different Language - Same problem!
Google Assistant is not supporting my native language, while using it on the mobile device works great.
Did you manage to fix this issue?
It worked fine for me till last week.
I fixed it before but i cant remember or find what fixed it before.
Nope, still searching for a solution

Hi Guys
Sorry if this has been posted, I did do a search and couldn't find a solution.
Whenever I change the input type in the input settings, it immediately defaults back to compact qwerty when I go back in to look.
Is this a known problem?
Thanks in advance
Nobody have any ideas?
After flashing the new ROM i've the same problem.
Every time i switch the keyboard layout, it automatically returns to compact QWERTY.
Can the layout be set in the registry?
I haven't found any solution yet.
fixing the default imput method
I also had this problem and it was driving me mad! However, searching the forum I came across a recommendation to use a little program called SIPchange. I installed this (it's free!) and it allows you to set any imput method as the default. So far it seems to work.
The only problem I now have is that the Letter Recogniser doesn't show me any suggested words as I enter text, despite this option being switched on in the settings. Any ideas anyone?

Hi,
So I got my Milestone yesterday. It currently has Android 2.1 (update 1).
And I saw alot of Android phones have speech to text stuff. Ie: When you click the search button on the milestone, you can either search or use your voice to search.
Even my sisters G1 which uses Android 2.1 has the speech search option. Why doesn't my one have that option, and how can I get it?
At this motorola link at the milestone home page:
You use the Text-to-speech settings to configure the Android text-to-speech synthesizer, for applications that can take advantage of it, such as TalkBack. TalkBack speaks the labels or names of items as you navigate the phone’s user interface.
Step 1: Enable Talk Back:
From the home screen, press Menu
Touch Accessibility
Check Accessibility
Touch TalkBack
You will be shown a disclaimer, touch OK
Click to collapse
I saw that my option says to enable accessability. That option seems disabled on my phone
What do I do?
firmware 2.1(update 1)
Version - GAS_EMEA_USASHLS00RTINT_P014
Kernel Version - 2.6.29-omap1
Build Number - SHOLS_U2_02.34.
Your sister's G1 has voice search because she is running a custom rom with it already included. I believe somewhere on here somebody asked where they could install htc_ime keyboard from. Find that thread and install that keyboard I believe it comes with voice search.
If not there should be a voice_search.apk file floating around you can install. I honestly can't remember what I did, but I certainly have voice search on my Milestone. I would try with the htc_ime.apk keyboard first. If voice isn't there, then find the voice_search.apk file.
Here are some instructions I wrote:

This phone doing frequently problem. Voice broken and few
author problem too. Is it right?
I feel incredibly dumb asking this -
Is it possible to create text message text with voice input?
My Android phone always had a mic button on the keyboard to initiate this feature; which I can't find on the WP7 keyboard.
If I'm right and it's not possible on Nodo, is there a chance it will show up on Mango?
Before posting I checked this forum; all of XDA, my user manual and then Bing'd and Googled it as well and came up nil.
Any feedback is hugely appreciated - thanks!!
(EDIT) I just found out this WILL be a key feature within Mango..
There is a mic button for speech to text in 7720.68 works flawlessly!

Use a wired or a bluetooth headset and all goes to auto...
Read this.
Also just to clarify in Mango under settings, speech make sure enable speech recognition over the network is on. the very bottom option let's you choose when to use it via bluetooth is the default, but you can choose headset or all the time. basically it works the same way as voice to calling does. Hold down the windows key when the voice promt comes up say text then the contact, the robo chick will prompt you to say your message.
Ok, I apologize if this has been asked already but I can not find it. So my problem is not matter what I activate in my keyboard settings for the Motorola mic to appear on the keyboard it will not show. It will show on the swype but not on the Motorola keyboard. So I also installed the JB keyboard from the market as well with no luck. The settings key will show but no mic to voice to text. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Lenovo Smart clock - unable to change "display language" on Google Home back to PT
Hello,
I've bought a Lenovo Smart Clock back in December as a Christmas present for my wife; altough Google mentions that for smart displays only a small set of languages is supported, like English UK/US/AU, French, German, Swedish, Japanese, Danish, Italian, Norsk and Nederlands, Lenovo device also supported Brazilian Portuguese.
Thing is, after messing around with the Google Home app and seeing that the "Smart Display" language setting was unset, we set it to English....big, huge mistake!!!...because now we are totally unable to set it back to Portuguese, as the option doesn't show on the list of supported languages. Even doing a factory reset doesn't solve; when the device configuration starts you can select Portuguese, but then the setting on Google Home app overrides it.
Does anyone have a workaround for this?
Google doesn't seem to care an fix this...at least let "unset" the language for smart displays, so that the setting set on the the device prevails in detriment of the one on the app.
Thanks
Solution of your problem
Hello Carrot,
I completely understand your problem and first time, I also face same issues when I install some smart devices in my home. That time I read one blog - in which they give full information and list of home apps which is suitable for any device.I am dropping link of that blog , if it works then share it. - https://bit.ly/3fODRkj
Hi there,
Maybe you’ve already solved the problem. If not, then this may help you:
Open the Google Home app, tap your profile picture and select Assistant settings. Select the Assistant tab and change the language from there. Then reset the clock and set it up using the Google account you just changed the language of the Assistant of. Afterward you can add another language and set up Voice Match if you want to.
Portuguese is available in my Assistant Settings, so it should show up in the list of languages on your phone as well.
