When I connect my Mi 9 Lite to PC via USB cable, it says that the device is not recognized. I tried 2 different computers, and 2 different cables, same thing.
I tried reinstalling the drivers etc, all the online tutorials for fixing, nothing.
Anybody else had the same thing happen to him, or maybe has a suggestion what to look for?
Thank in advance.
Hi, enable USB debbuging
go to settings -> "my device" (or similar) and tap on your build number multiple times. go to "advanced" -> "developer settings" and check if "Select USB Configuration:" is set to MTP for file transfer or PTP for your Android to play a digital camera storage.

Enable usb debugging and plug usb into BACK PANEL of motherboard to recogonise.......or go to settings and use which way to connect when usb is plugged in, should give a mass storabe option

To use as mass storage - I use mine with Linux, for example:
Settings -> About phone -> USB Settings
CHOOSE "MASS STORAGE" HERE
Then, go to Settings -> Applications -> Development
ENABLE "USB DEBUGGING" HERE
Then to use the internal storage, plug into your computer. On the Galaxy, you should see a notification "USB Connected". Use the pull-down notification bar at the top to see this.
Click on "USB Connected" in the notifications list. You should be given the option, "Mount".
Click on the "Mount" button and your computer will find the Galaxy's internal flash memory. Now you can drag/drop files without using the ****ty Samsung drivers.
Confirmed working on Ubuntu 10.04 and Windows XP.
I have installed Cyanogen 10 Jelly Bean (build 2012-10-30) on my P7310, and everything went fine. I love it.
Now the tab is charging when connected to my PC (Windows 7 x64). The problem is my tab it is not recognized by the PC as a USB device any more, the tab does not even show up in the device manager at all (Windows does not make the "new device" sound when I plug the tab).
I have tried to reinstall Samsung USB driver (v 1.5.15.0), I have rebooted the PC and the tab (many times), tried on two different USB ports, tried with Samsung Kies (nothing detected), tried with debug mode enabled (with Samsung ADB driver installed). Nothing, except when in debug mode, the device is displayed but I can't access the files stored on the internal SD card.
I would like to restore my Titanium backups, but for that I need to copy the backup files to my tab
Does anyone have similar problems with Cyanogen 9 or 10 on a P7310? Any clue on how I can try to solve this without restoring my tab to a previous Android version? Thanks!
I just found the answer in another thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1951110
Go to Settings -> Storage -> (use menu "USB computer connection" at top right corner) -> check "Media device (MTP)"
As simple as that.
I can confirm this! easy solution for a long search

I once had a similar problem but in my case some usb drivers failed to install even though the device was detected.
Remove the battery from your phone leave it a minute or so then put it back and power your phone up.

Are you using Win7? Sometimes that "wannabe inteligent" system picks the wrong drivers. Make sure you have the drivers on your PC (i.e. install Kies first) thereafter connect your phone. If it doesnt show, check in the device manager of your PC, look for mobile device and reinstall the drivers (rightklick on mobile device). Go for a manual search and point it to the Kies directory werde the drivers are stored.
If it was working on a different PC, you may as well compare the installed drivers on both. Maybe you find a difference.
Hope that helps
Good luck
When I rooted mine I forgot to do this and had the same symptoms...
Restore USB Settings after Backup / Restore:
•Dial *#7284# on your phone to access PhoneUtil and select 'Qualcomm USB settings' at the bottom.
Now select 'MTP + ADB' and press 'OK' to return to the previous screen.
Now press your 'Back' key to exit PhoneUtil.
Your phone is now back to default USB operation.

I just want to add: "MTP + ADB" means USB debugging is on (Developer options) and if you select "MTP" only USB debugging is of

Hi everyone, first of all i excuse for any mistake i will make, im not English Anyway, my problem is this: i'd like to full wipe my phone and then install a new ROM, because my s advance has become insanely unstable, random shut down and general app close. The problem is that i cant manage to make my Windows 7 Laptop detect it. When i plug it in (tried different cables and usb ports, nothing changed) a window pops up saying "Unknown Device" or "The device could not be installed", classic messages when the system fails installing drivers. I tried every f**king tip found on internet, read literally dozens of discussions on differents forums and boards, nothing. Installed kies, uninstalled kies, installed generic samsung usb drivers, tried uninstalling and reinstalling the device from "Manage Devices", tried manual update of drivers via "find driver on local pc", choosing both "\Windows\inf" or "choose manually from a list" looking for (the much suggested on internet) MTP drivers, never found. Tried a factory reset (directly from the phone, i cant even make Odin find the phone), i have no popups on the phone to choose the usb connection, it just charges battery.
Im running CyanogenMod 11 - janice, a very bugged one actually, time passing has made it insanely unstable.... Ty for any help, i'm getting mad trying to solve this...
Try this
https://forum.xda-developers.com/an.../live-iso-adb-fastboot-driver-issues-t3526755
Unfortunately even this didn't worked, at this point i'm thinking that there is some hardware problem in my usb connector. Thank you anyway!
Check if USB Debugging is NOT turned on.
1. Go to Settings \ About phone \ Hit build number couple of times (until you see "you are now developer")
2. Go to Settings \ Developer options \ Android debugging - set to "OFF"
I can't pick any option when I connect the phone to the computer, they all are greyed out. The only way to transfer files from my phone to my PC is through TWRP or changing the default USB option through developer settings.
Can someone help?
Can you attach screenshots?

This happened with me on my phone's stock image. All the usb options were greyed out. I tended to look for solutions, but couldn't find anything relevant. Then, with a later update, it got fixed. However, now I'm using a custom rom(Resurrection Remix), so there are no issues with USB atm.
I would suggest you to install a suitable and stable custom rom(Lineage OS, is the best) on your device. It might help.
If you are on Lineage (You don't say) just set the USB option to always transfer in developer settings, Plus make sure USB debugging mode is turned off.
