How can I inspect all apps traffic in Fiddler Classic? - Samsung Galaxy S20 FE Questions & Answers

Hello! I am running Fiddler Classic on my PC, and have connected to it via a proxy on my phone. This works fine in the browser, but not in any apps. After some research, I found that most Android apps do not trust user CAs. So, I decided to install the Fiddler Certificate as a system CA, but despite the certificate showing up as system in Settings, it still doesn't work. Any ideas?

Google Maps won´t download offline maps

Hey all,
Tried the board search for a possible solution to my prob, to no avail so far:
I am using a Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, GP5110, android 4.0.3.
Fully rooted, avast! security installed as firewall, running in whitelist mode - I rather allow those few application I like internet access and have everything else blocked by default, with the ongoing permission-hunger of most app developers I figured to be better safe than sorry.
My problem: Googles` Maps App is running perfectly fine, however when I try to download any offline maps (settings -> make available offline) it just opens a tab called "My Places", showing my map indicating 0.0MB/0.0MB, download never starts.
I tried whitelisting a number of different system processes - such as was necessary to get the youtube app running - but was not successful identifying the correct ones.
Anybody out there who could help?
Thanks in advance!
Regards,
Chris
Can you not turn the firewall off , download the maps you want then turn it back on ? I have managed to download offline maps but avast firewall was not on ..... just a thought.
Would probably work, but I'm rather looking for a permanent solution than a workaround... Thanks for your suggestion though!
Go to settings -> Clear all offline maps
Then open Google Play, uninstall Google Maps, then update Google Maps, Restart Device,
Now it works on mine. There should be a notification section called "Downloaded Maps" which tells you the progress, as well as inside Google maps.

Installing certificates

My network recently did an entire overhaul. Removed and old proxy sever and added a storage severer. Now my network is protected by a Barracuda system and i now have normally functioning internet, well almost. The firewall though i guess reads every information passing through and the browsers recognize that and don't allow access to the sites where personal data is involved. On the pc i installed a certificate given by the network admin and it works. But on my phone i can seem to do it. If i go into setting>security>install from sd card i get a warning box that the installer has shut down. Where do i go from here? Is there an app? i can't access the app store or anything Google for that matter.
me myself and i said:

Certificates must be either in pfx or p12 format to be recognized as such and therefore ready to be installed on Android.

P9-AL00 EMUI5, GooglePlay market works only on Wifi

Hi All,
Since my P9 got upgraded to EMUI5/Android 7 I am experiencing problems with Google Play.
-When on Wifi aeverything works perfectly BUT
- When on mobile network, GooglePlay Market can search, display results, pictures and etc but does not download anything, either new apps or updates to existing. It's just stuck in "Donwloading" but there is no progress, and the speed shown in my P9 status bar is 0B/s.
- All the other applications work on Mobile Network with no problems, i.e. I can browse, and etc.
Here's what I tried so far:
- Made sure both the Market and corresponding Service are given full trust + all permissions are granted,
- Both Market and its service have full data access (i.e. Mobile 4G and usual, WLAN, Roaming),
- Cleared all cash and data for both Market and its service,
- Removed my account, restarted the phone, re-added the account.
- Enabled data plan with stellar limit, added Market to exclusion from the plan, removed data plan (i.e. unlimited data).
- Checked permissions and access log to see if anything asked for something that was denied. Nothing.
- Contacted Huawei Support, heard I need to do steps above. Did them all again.
- Found on the internet some ideas about some settings that need to be changes in "Downloads" app to allow big files. But my downloads app doe snot have such setting.
- Found out that there should be some "Download Manager" app, found it in Service list, but there's no app with that name so I can't really open it.
Nothing works. That Market just wouldn't work on Mobile. It does not ask for anyhting, does not complain. Just gets stuck in "downloading" and does nothing, but on WiFi it works perfectly.
Please help!
PS. Everything worked before upgrade to EMUI5/Droid 7.
Phone info: Chineese bought P9-AL00, set to English language, All google apps downloaded and installed via the HiApp and then the Market. Upgrade to EMUI5/Droid7 was legit OTA upgrade (not some custom flash).
I experienced kinda the same problem. Go to Settings > Mobile data > Networked apps > System apps. Is Download Manager checked or unchecked? I had unchecked this by a mistake and it wouldnt let me download apps from Google Play store (stuck on downloading). Now that the checkmark is there i have no problems.
Nope, everything is OK there.
BTW, I got reply from Huawei Support. They say they don't know what the problem is and that I should talk to the vendor of Google Play. Very helpful.
Update: tried Factory reset. Installed Google Play from HiApp onto freshely rested P9 - same thing, n downloads from Mobile network.

Q: Suggested apps non-System & System to block internet access?

On AOSiP 8.1. AT&T MVNO.
And I did search.
Just switched Firewalls from NetGuard to AFWALL+.
I'm questioning which apps need internet access to function or function as I want?
I enabled internet access to everything except the ANY APP setting & simple duh Non-System apps like my PDF reader, ePub reader, VLC, Evie, Ghost Commander & a couple more. The only one so far I'm not 100% on is I disallowed the DRM Service internet access, but I'm pretty sure.
So is there a list of System Apps safe to not allow internet access & will tell me what won't work if I don't allow internet access?

preinstalled Bloatware and connections to internet in background

Impressive and depressing to see the amount of preinstalled apps that even if you are not using are trying to connect to internet services, mostly AmazonWS.
Luckily forbidding to them the access to Internet has no impacting on normal usage, but it is crazy that every app attempt to connect to Internet.
Apps that i don't use or i know what they are for but are trying to connect to internet:
DUO (1tracker)
Game optimizing service
AR doodle
Device service
Download manager
Apps that i don understand why they have tried to go out (internet):
Camera
SmartSwitch (scary being a data migration tool)
Contacts
photo editor
your phone companion (also has 5 trackers)
What do you think?
Should I clean above apps and replace by less intrusive or some without access to network?
