Question Stock > Pixel Experience > Stock (Fingerprint Issues) - Xiaomi Mi 11

Hi All,
I decided I wanted to try out the PixelExperience ROM, wasn't keen so went back to Stock ROM however, since doing so the Fingerprint sensor does not recognise my finger is in place.
It allows me to start the process to add a fingerprint however, when I put my finger on the sensor it lights up but doesn't vibrate / recognise that a fingerprint is there.
I've tried re-calibration in CIT with a calibration block off AliExpress but I get the error "1527 mp algo interface error" when entering the final stage of the test "put flesh chart horizontally".
Problem I have is, Google play store is no longer certified so can't run Netflix and I can't use google wallet due to the absence of fingerprint security.
I want to be back on Stock firmware, not rooted (before someone suggests it). Silly question but is there anyone who can repair it?
Thanks, Joe.

Note8 Sensors error - Any of you faced with?

I have Note8. It has a very strange sensors error, as below:
- All sensors, from proximity sensor, light sensor, to GPS, iris scanner, and all the other sensors do not work at all.
- In the app like Phone INFO Samsung, CPU-Z or AIDA64, in the Sensors section, all sensors do not work.
- The Auto Brightness function does not work (due to the light sensor), the brightness of the AOD screen is also not adjustable.
- When making a phone call and move the phone close to the ear, the screen does not turn off due to proximity sensor.
- Auto Rotation function is not working (due to rotation sensor).
- Google Maps shows inaccurate location. Other apps that rely on GPS (such as the speedometer app) are completely not working.
- The iris scanner function does not work either.
It was about two weeks ago. I've Wiped the cache, restart the phone but does not make sense.
Yesterday it suddenly returned to normal, I don't know why.
But today - while I'm typing this post - all sensors suddenly do not work again.
Any idea about the error and how to fix it?
Thank you guys
Best advice I can think of is to factory reset and see if that alleviates the problem.
If you did not do anything firmware-related, or you did not drop or submeged your device, the best you can do is to make a warranty claim, pure and simple, if you have no way to make such claim, well, next time you should consider getting a device from an official source
I've read other users have had same problem. Ones I read said it was motherboard issue had to have sammy replace it.
Thank you guys
There is also built-in sensor test. Open dialer and dial *#0*#
I noticed a problem when I was playing Asphalt (racing game on me Note 8). I am unable to use the Tilt controls to move the scar.
Testing out the Sensors using *#0*# at the dialer revealed that all the SENSORS was faulty.
I reset the whole phone just now. The issue is still there with the sensor. As expected Auto rotation doesn't work.
Running the latest version 8.0.
I recently changed my motherboard (under warranty) 3 months back cos something was faulty. Seems it may be another motherboard issue.
Anyone else in this thread solved the issue?
Hey everyone I'm facing the same problem. All sensors stoped working but they were working before on 7.1.1 and i updated my device to oreo and realized all sensors stoped
Then i got another updated for about 900mb i thought maybe this update will fix them and also that update said tha after updating the user cannot downgrade to nougat but after updating the problem still exsist. Please if anyone can help i also try to flash same oreo firmware with odin but doesn't fixed the sensors

Problems with the fingerprint reader sensor

Hi, I have this problem with the fingerprint reader under display of my xiaomi mi 9.
When it is resting on a surface I cannot unlock it with the fingerprint, I find this very annoying especially when I am at work and the phone is resting on the desk and I would like to unlock it, or when it is on the bedside table. The only way that allows me to unlock it with the sensor under the display is to take it in hand and unlock it.
I did several tests and I noticed that it is enough to touch the metal frame with a finger to allow the phone to unlock with the fingerprint reader. Alternatively, just have the USB cable inside the door.
If it is on a surface (for example a table or a desk) it does not allow me to record the imprint because it does not even detect the finger.
I don't understand if it is a thing wanted by xiaomi or it is a problem?
I leave below a video where I show what I said.

After Global Beta 9.5.9 Update
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=79507139&postcount=26

That is really weird
I have the same problem. It is quite weird that sometimes the fingerprint is working ok, sometimes it doesn't work at all, especially when on flat surface like in your example. I think it is working better for me now, after having erased and registered fingerprints again. Also, I feel that slightly "rolling" your finger on the fingerprint is working most of the time (for example put the left side of your fingerprint on the sensor then roll it to the right side, it should work better). I am on latest Xiaomi eu rom (9.5.1) and it seems a bit better too (or maybe I just get used to it!).
My FP is good, doesn't have the problem like you said. On flat surface or anything, it's working. I'm using Xiaomi.EU Dev 9.5.1
Try to add same finger multiple times like fingerprint 1, 2 3 and 4. That's what I did and it is now better.
I'm on the last Global Beta (9.4.26) and before last EEA but the problem persist. I tried to record several times but without success. When the phone is resting on a surface it does not work. If it's in my hand it almost always works perfectly.
I can try to install the .eu and see if there are improvements.
I have the same issue on lastest EEA update. When the phone is on flat surface, the sensor barely recognizes my finger input. Im pretty sure that was working fine before the last update.
I hope this is a problem that can be solved via software with a future update. The point is that some have the same problem as me, while others work perfectly in any situation. So it is difficult to understand what is wrong.
I have the same issue. It almost never work unlocking in flat surface. The only way is to press the sensor really hard with force, then it will unlock. I have similar case in redmi 3x, the screen dramatically lose sensitivity in flat surface. I dont know what causes. Maybe it is related to electrical grounding.
Can anyone make a thread in miui bug report forum? I will support it..

I cant comment there. They are moving to c.miui.com
In community app, seems its in feedback subforum..
Same problem for me with last EEA 10.2.24
If phone is on a flat surface the fingerprint seems to stop working
Last update was ok

Yes Mi Forum is read-only since today, they want you to use Mi Community instead, but looks more like a Facebook group than a serious forum.
For me (latest 10.2.9 Global ROM), the fingerprint when flat on a surface works just fine; but as others said before, try re-adding your fingerprints using more different and wider angles; perhaps your finger was at 0 degree when you added the fingerprint whilst in real-life practice your finger is usually at 15 degrees. Making sure you cover all the sides of your finger helps (I have 5 fingerprints for 5 fingers registered, one was responding badly, so I readded that one and it works fine ever since).
But perhaps its indeed (latest( EEA ROM related ?
Same issue with the latest Global Beta, sadly.

Hi. The problem is that seems like the fingerprint is disconnected. It doesn't react to any finger, it doesn't turn on. As soon as you pick up the phone it works flawlessly with any of the registered fingerprints.

I had the same problem on stock MIUI, with locked bootloader. Now I'm on Revolution OS and the problem seems solved, so I think it's a software issue.
Anyway when I had the problem, when the phone was on flat surfaces, I used to put my thumb on the bottom frame of the device, unlocking with the index (so using just one hand), and it worked perfectly. You can try this as a temporary workaround waiting for a software fix.

Ok, that clarifies things; I thought it was conditionally unresponsive or inaccurate, but what you describe seems like the wakelocks are too aggressively set., very typical of MIUI.
Normally one would go Settings | Battery & Performance | Power Usage, and in the top-right hamburger-menu select 'Show System Apps' and select the Lock Screen or Fingerprint / Biometric services app and disable it's 'Power Restrictions' , but MIUI hides all most internal services.
Instead, download the MiAppa and click the 'Battery optimisation' tool; then in the blue title/dropdown bar select 'All Apps' instead of the default 'Not optmised' ... now a lot of internal services and components show up. Scroll down to 'MiuiBiometric' and changes it's 'optimize' setting to 'dont optimize'. That might help with it's wakelocks being filtered. I haven't tested the setting myself - and there are a lot of other system services that might be relevant to test - so please give it a good try.
Alternatively, run a custom ROM or enable the double-tap to wake (and/or pickup to wake, but I think you already had that active), so you tap to 'wake' it, and then the fingerprint does work instantly. Internally in 'deep sleep' state it might not respond to the fingerprint directly (i.e. after a few minutes idling with screen off), whilst screen-off idle before the deep-sleep state still works fine ...
Latest 10.2.24 EEA, zero problem.
Cue the "omg omg I have a bad phone how to fix plzzz"

Thanks. I've been trying what you said without success. Doesn't matter if the screen is on (on lock screen) or off. It seems like you need to be touching and holding the device with the hand.
What is surprising me is that if I am touching with a finger the frame of the phone in the usb port zone (the only part exposed as I am using a Nillkin cover) then seems to work the fingerprint sensor.
The problem only appeared since the last update so I am pointing to software error. I've reported to Xiaomi through the app.

Have you tried unlocking with fingerprint in lockscreen (screen on)? Doesnt it different from the phone off? Mine is still same. When screen on, it should not be optimized.
Well, trick of unlocking with finger hold in side of phone seems help, but not much.
Plus add this trick, register your thumb 2 or 3 times, focus registering and unlocking in the center of thumb, not the tip. Dont use index finger. These combination of tricks really help for me unlocking in flat surface.

RM3 fingerprint... Not really convincing here :( But : Face unlocking : super :)

Hi,
Using the Red Magic 3 is quite nice, but one of the major problems to me is the FingerPrint scanner.
It happens really often that I have to "press" the FP scanner several times before it lets me in
But on the other had, Face unlcok works superbly here !
It recognizes my face everytime, even in rather dark environment.
And unlocking is then super fast...
Guess I'll use that more often than the FP scanner
You guys also have that "problem" with the P scanner ?
No its working perfect for me, much better then the fp sensor of the xiaomi mi mix 2 (my prev phone). Meaby try to set it up again?
I had the same problem, then it went away, then it came back.
Saw some people complaining here as well on github.
Funny thing for me, seem to be related to having activated multiple users in this device and for some reason the finger print only works (normally) on this second account. Deleting that saving account did not solve the issue as the sensor continues completely irresponsive in my main account (so it's clearly just a software issue). If I recreate a second account it will work there, but still not in my main account.
Do you have more than one user registered for that device? I use the other users mainly to have alt accounts for different games
I'm in touch with their (slow) support and the last message I got was:
We will feedback this case to our R&D .Pls provide the order number and Build number of the phone. If you can, please also provide a video file of this process, thanks.
In my case it's clearly just a software issue, so it should be fixed in future builds (hopefully).
Perhaps a factory reset would help, but I don't want to test that option as I'm lazy to set up everything up again.
Hi,
Same thing here.
The FP scanner is not on par with some of the RM3 sibblings like the Mate 20x or the mi mix 3.
I think the scanner is too small to recognize your fingerprint decently.
But if I compare Face unlock on this device to face unlock on the afroementioned devices, it's a totally different story !!!
It is amazingly fast and reliable, even in low light conditions...
So I am almost always using that one.
Regards.
No problems here with the FP scanner.
I'm on Global ROM,bootloader is still locked,no root and only my account registered to the phone, but I've setup 4 fingerprints, and all of them work quite good....

AMOLED replacement - AOD - not working

Good day.
I recently replaced AMOLED screen. Fingerprint works, auto brightness, too. But when it comes to always on display, there's a problem. It doesn't work. When I unlock it with button it sometimes shows for 0.5 seconds before going to the homescreen.
Does any one have any ideas how to fix this?
Thank you.
EDIT: Flashed xiaomi.eu MIUI 11 version (before it was xiaomi.eu MIUI 12), and now AOD is working, but either full brightness or minimal (barely visible) brightness, doesn't step up as it should in relation to the ambient brightness. The auto brightness when unlocked works as it should.
Hi, i have the same situation...did you found a solution?
Thank you
Hi I have exactly the same problem. did u solve it? i´ve tried flashing miui 10, 11, 12 Via twrp or xiaomi Miflash, Global or Xiaomi.eu... none of that worked. My AOD is too dimm. Also my fingerprint works very bad and have brightnes issues when touching if i set it to show on AOD... i saw there is a calibration tool for the fingerprint recognition but how to solve the AOD problem? Please help. My replacement is also an Amoled screen.
Where did you buy the screen? I'm trying to find an original replacement online store (who ships to Spain if possible).

The first screen was from Aliexpress it claims to be original but clearly not. After both problems with fingerprint and AOD i've changed it for a new one buyed from a repair store localy at Granada, Spain.
All i can say its that the box says esmovil.es website that its for profesional repairs stores only i think...
This new one comes with the phone frame and its claimed to be a xiaomi service pack. All works fine now. Under direct sunlight you can see the diferencies in the fingerprint and light sensor holes with the fake one. You also need to calibrate the figerprint sensor from the CIT menu.
I suggest to buy an OEM replacement to finish all kind of problems related to AOD and fingerprint

Asus Rog 3 no camera and fingerprint scanning

Hello
I bought Asus Rog 3 (android 12) after replacing the screen. He has this problem:
- Only the front camera works, when I try to switch to the rear camera, the camera freezes for a moment and switches back to the front camera.
However, if I turn on the google camera in the options, the rear camera works normally.
- Doesn't read fingerprints. Scanner turns on but does not scan any lines.
I thought android 12 broke and I uploaded android 11 from Asus and it's the same. After a while, it updated itself again to android 12.
I have no idea how the fault could be.
Anyone have any advice on this problem?
Are you sure the device re-assembled properly? I've replaced the display in my ROG 3 before, all worked out very smoothly. Nothing special involved beyond making sure motherboard, fingerprint reader, cameras and everything else are all connected back together correctly...

Thanks for the answer.
I was also wondering about it, to be honest, but since the rear camera works in the "google camera" mode and the white line scanner also, but it does not scan the line, the problem is probably in the software.
In fastbootd mode it displays something like this, I do not know if it is correct because it is my first Rog 3
I don't want to open it while it's possible. Therefore, I am asking if any of my honorable colleagues had this or a similar problem.

The screenshot doesn't tell much. However, you won't be able to RAW flash this device from there. Check that your have correct Fastboot access from the bootloader (without navigating to above). Then do a RAW flash to one of the A10 or A11 versions that works.

Why should I flash in RAW format? What will this change?
Menu, które wkleiłem, to podmenu fastboot.
I downgraded the software from the Asus website to:
- Android 10 (front / rear camera is working properly, fingerprint scanner is not working)
- Android 11 (rear camera not working, fingerprint scanner not working)
- Android 12 (rear camera not working, fingerprint scanner not working)
I don't know where the problem is. I have already written to Asus about this. We'll see what they write back.
I checked the phone's serial numbers on the Asus website and everything is correct.
The phone was not unlocked and rooted. FOTA is working properly.
Just got the latest version dated 01.08.2022
The problem remained.
Hello
As I wrote above.
Asus spoke very quickly. The phone was sent to service in RMA mode. I don't know what they did, but very fast and everything works as it is supposed to.
I contacted the previous owner and it turned out that the screen was replaced on the Asus service. Guarantee until the end of October
And I was so tempted to open it
It's good that I did not do it because it is a little 16/512GB baby girl
Topic to be closed.
