P20 Pro delayed notifications or non at all - Huawei P20 Pro Questions & Answers

Whatsapp, Snapchat, Instagram I dont get any notifications if the phone is not unlocked.
Not even Whatsapp calls will give me a notification!!!
I've tried battery optimization, I've tried auto app launch settings, I've tried always on display, I've tried developer settings (dont need unlock to use phone)
What else can I do?
I have HarmonyOS 2.0
I either install a new OS like lineage, or I try deleting powergenie. But I'm not sure if HarmonyOS even has powergenie, from what I can read its only on EMUI +9.

Deleted Powergenie. Gonna try after 1 hour phone locked if it works.

Ring.com doorbell - not receiving notifications

Hi,
I've recently got a Huawei P20 Pro and it's not receiving any ring notifications when someone rings my ring.com doorbell..
I've had a few instances where the notification has come through as it should, but literally 99% of the time i don't receive any notifications at all.
I've ran through all the steps outlined in their guide (How-to-Troubleshoot-Ring-Notification-Issues-for-Android-Devices - i can't link the URL as i'm a new member here) but none of it has made any difference.
I have checked all permissions, notification settings, disabled them, re-enabled them, cleared cache, cleared data, deleted the app, re-installed, set the "App Launch" options to allow to run in the background - all to no avail.
Got another phone (Samsung S7 Edge) set-up to receive the same notifications from the same doorbell - and that's receiving all of them absolutely fine.
My P20 Pro is running EMUI 8.1.0 and Android version 8.1.0.
I've raised a support ticket with Ring.com, but thought i'd also post here - as it seems likely this may be a P20-specific issue..
I have the same problem with Logitech Circle 2 security camera. I'm not getting every notification, but on my HTC U11 it works fine. I think it's some aggressive RAM management or Doze. I've just setteled with the reason beeing early firmware and that Huawei will fix it. A bit of a hassle, but I have never bought a phone at launch and not experienced any bygd yet. No matter if it was HTC, Samsung, Huawei, Sony and so forth.
The ram management is ridiculously aggressive. I have several apps that don't function correctly, despite removing them them from the app launch settings.
Some of them are really annoying, but I have an issue with Outlook on an office365 account not notifying me about really important work stuff.
Go to battery settings, app launch, and set it to manage manually with all the options enabled. You will probably need to do that for a few apps.

Have you disabled the 'Manage automatically' battery option?
Thanks guys.
It looks like it was the App Launch settings. I resolved the issue by performing the following steps;
1) Deleted ring.com app cache
2) Deleted ring.com data
3) Uninstalled ring.com app
4) Re-installed ring.com app
5) Amended the following App Launch battery settings; Settings > Apps & notifications > Apps > Ring > Battery > App Launch > Switched off Manage Automatically and enabled all 3 manual options; Auto-launch, Secondary launch and Run in background
i had the same problem and this worked
I talk to ring support and the are telling me that the app its not fully compatible with android 9.0
I recibe notifications if the app its open. But if the app its fully closed I don't recibe any notifications.
I already try the above solution but no luck.
I have the mate 2o X.
Any one have a work around?
Yes, I tried to the above fix too but it's still doing the same for me. If I open the app up it works for about 2 hours and then just stops working. I've even tried LOCKING the app window so it can't be closed and that won't work either. I had a OnePlus 5T previously and it worked perfectly on that, then i got this phone and it stopped working. My wife's app on her OnePlus 3T works fine. I'm getting really annoyed with it now as it's bloody pointless me having it.
I have a Mate 8, ring app notification would stop coming through not long after setting up the app but nest doorbell app works perfectly, same battery management setting on both apps.
Once battery management has been set, go to apps, apps, click 3 dots top right, special access, battery optimisation, where you see "not allowed" top left, set to "all apps" , now set the apps needed to "not allowed".
tested on huawei mate 20x emui 9.1

Lastpass - Accessibility option keeps disabling

I've got lastpass installed and have chosen to use the accessibility option as I want it to fill the forms in chrome, however the option in accessibility keeps disabling on it's own.
Anyone know a solution?
Wish I did, having the same issue. Seems to only occur after a restart though. I normally switch it off at night and let the alarm switch it back on in the morning.
I changed the app launch settings to manual in the battery menu to fix this

I changed the setting in the battery menu to "manual" but it still keeps disabling several times a day. Does anyone know is there's a fix?
I have a Mate 10 Pro and I have usually been getting this issue after a Huawei software update.
Old thread I know, but the only solution that has always worked for me is the following.
1. Uninstall Lastpass
2. Restart your phone
3. Install Lastpass and enable all the functions you like, including draw over other apps, fill helper bubble etc.
The options at least for me stay enabled until the next update. Without doing the above steps, they will just get auto-disabled after a few seconds.

Can these issues be fixed on China P30 Pro VOG-AL00

I got a p30 pro as a gift in China and coming from a Pixel 2XL, this software is incredibly frustrating.
My 3 main annoyances are:
1. Google Pay doesn't seem to work. Everytime I try to setup my card, an error message says "Can't complete setup for contactless payment. To resolve this, you'll need to contact...." This is so annoying, why bother allowing the app to be installed in the first place? In Settings, you can even choose Google Pay as a default payment app.
2. Notifications do not persist on lockscreen. E.g. when using Spotify, the playback controls show up initially on lockscreen, but disappears shortly after. Once a new song starts playing, the controls show up again. Same goes for all kinds of notifications like email, messages, etc. They do show up after unlocking the phone, but even if I don't dismiss them, I can't see them on the lockscreen. I've turned on the Show on lockscreen option in all the affected apps, but no dice. I disabled face unlock and that doesn't help neither
3. Google assistant. In settings, the Access with Voice Match toggle is greyed out, so there's no way to trigger assistant unless by opening the Google or Google assistant app.
Searching these forums has been pointless, no one seems to know how to fix these issues. Now Huawei doesn't even allow unlock bootloader and root anymore....
Has anyone found any workaround?
Thanks and have an awesome weekend

Question Notification and Sync issue

Hi there,
Gmail, WhatsApp, Telegram Skype, Google voice and more won't sync automatically and I'm not getting notification until open the apps manually
Motorola X30 Pro RETCN original firmware
My friend look for device shield in your device and there you have some options to enable background services that's an app, pretty sure that is causing your issues.

yes, its device shield stops everything, after allowing for WhatsApp it's working fine
but Gmail, and Telegram do not update until opening and of course some other apps
some apps work fine when allow to run in the background in the device shield and some of them not working
You need to enable and auto restart there as well
I did it too, not working
I'm going a reset factory with LMSAA
also something weird is happening
Sometimes personalize app 0kb data and force close until I do restart phone several times
I found the problem for anyone who has the issue like me
first: Device Shield background running app should be ok
second: The device Shield Auto start app should be on
third: Automatic Battery saver turn on 1 AM - 6 AM, turn off this option, when battery saver is on force close all apps, after the battery saver duration is over apps doesn't sync automatically until opening them by your self
so the problem solved

NO issue for me.
1. Autostart apps from DeviceShield
2. "Allow running in background" for those apps in DeviceShield
3. From the app tray/drawer, press and hold an app (ex. Telegram) and tap on App Info.
Tap Battery and choose "Unrestricted".

Question LocalADB Ladb connection issues

I've been trying to connect to the free version in Google play ladb connect on my Vivo X fold plus but all I receive is the starting server message for more than 5 minutes and then it just hangs up sometimes or nothing happens. My Vivo is on android 13 btw on latest updates and I have enabled high battery consumption for the app and enabled wireless debugging, usb debug, allow screen overlays (also tried it with split screen, but works easier with screen overlay/floating window for settings app) I also tried enabling an option that said allow adb terminal or something similar.
Tried reinstalling the app, rebooting phone. Is there anything else I can try? Last resort is my laptop but this would so much more convenient.
It's worked on my Xiaomi Mi 9 on android 11 with the same setup screen overlay etc
I've been following this guide and doesn't seem to work on the vivo X fold plus but works on my android 11 Xiaomi Mi 9
How to debloat your phone (and more) without connecting to a PC
LADB is an app that lets you run ADB shell commands from your phone, no root and no PC needed! Use it to debloat your phone and more!
www.xda-developers.com
I just use a computer...and it worked consistently. Never tried ladb
Yeah that's my last resort using my laptop. Wanted to see if I can debloat on my phone instead of the laptop. I haven't debloated yet but it seems like I'm receiving notifications anyway from reddit, Google now, accubattery, Gmail, email client, Google messages but not from insta, FB or FB messenger
