Screen is not working - Xiaomi Mi A2 / 6X Questions & Answers

Hello I know its 2022 now and I still have my a2 as back up phone. Currently i changed the battery of the phone since it was bloated already. I did it myself, and now right after I changed it the screen wont work, im thinking that this is a LCD issue so bought a new LCD and replaced it again knowing the fact that the new LCD wont work as well. Any tips for me? I just want to have this work as I will be giving it to my sibling. Im hoping that someone can help me here i would really appreciate it.

Replacement LCD

Hi everyone,
I replaced my LCD screen and digitizer at the weekend and am now having a few problems. The battery is draining really quickly, in about 30mins. Could this be due to a non oem screen or something? (got mine off ebay)
I am also having a few issues with the power button, there was a small amount of tape in place but im unsure if this should go below the switch or above. To prevent the circuit board switch from shorting or something?
Any help appreciated.
how much did you paid for digitizer?
well I got an LCD with digitizer attached for $43
I'm needing the same, how difficult was it to put back together,
taking it apart isnt a problem but theres that many parts I'm not sure if I could put it back together correctly
Can you tell me how many different variants of the LCD are used in the Diamond? or there is just ONE LCD w/ digitizer..? And from where can I get them for a good price?
Well to be honest, I have only had problems since I changed mine and the phone is now unusable. Its quite easy to put back together, but it seems really easy to create shorts that cause problems and I think the quality of the LCD I bought is far below that of standard and is using lots of power.
Have ordered another screen from somewhere else and will try that but think I will get a leo next week as then im due an upgrade
Would still appreciate some help with my original questions?
I bought on ebay both/LCD+touch screen/. Price is fine 36US dollars. When you buy only on of this you have problem with right connection between LCD and touch screen. Picture have little contrast but not tragically. Battery draining is same. Touch screen is more sensitive than original.

Maybe is problem with correct connect gps antenna to connector on board.
To update this I bought a new screen with digitizer from a US company and replaced the board that connects to the microphone and now more Diamond is as good as new.
Screen is as original and excellent quality

Hi,
screen is original.
what happened was, i enabled win mobile autolock, and then i kinda had a fit. It was turning the screen on and off for about 1 second each time, i thought it would stop so i waited about 40 seconds, then hit the reset button.
when the phone reset it still had an "imprint" of the windows mobile lock screen on the screen, as if it had "burnt" all the white areas onto the screen.
I tryed to screenshot it, but it didnt show in a screenshot so i presumed the screen was wrecked.
I have left my phone without battery overnight and it SEEMS to have sorted itself out, but im not sure!
Thanks in advance

Thought this was fixed but the battery drainage is still huge. The phone is now constantly hot, so have stopped using it. I have dismantled the phone countless times now as I thought there may be a short circuit but with no fix.
When I posted originally the battery was on 85% after 4 hours but then the next time I turned the screen on it was on 1%.
Its annoying as I loved my Diamond but now I just feel angry when I see it on my desk. Using an old moto flip phone at the moment which I hate, untill some shops get the leo back in stock. Tempted by the n900 also, any thoughts?
Hi,
I will change my Diamond's screen. Did you buy it online? If so, would you please send a link of the LCD w/ Digitizer that you bought. Thanks in advance

[Q] Rogers Captivate Broken Touchscreen

I have a brand new Captivate that I got for free as the touchscreen doesn't work.
It is literally brand new out of the box, with no damage whatsoever.
On the very first boot it loaded up fine and everything looks great. But there is absolutely no response from the touchscreen. So I can't swipe to unlock and the phone is pretty much useless.
I was wondering if there is any chance it is a software issue, or is it definitely a defective touchscreen/digitizer?
I can replace the screen/digitizer for about $160 CAD, which I might do as the phone was free. But I'd like to be 100% sure that there is no other solution before I spend the money.
I did flash it with an AT&T rom using ODIN, but the exact same thing happened.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers.
Sorry for the shameless bump, but I have to make the decision whether to pay the $160CAD or not very soon.
So any advice at all would be greatly appreciated.
You had 2 different cappy and both of em have no response from touchscreen?
Maybe you should take the gloves? or at least try using your NOSE as finger
cappy screen rects not to pressure, so no stylus
Its not software. So get a screen and go for it.
Really appreciate the help.
I figured it was hardware, but it's always nice to get a second opinion.
Cheers

[Q] URGENT Galaxy Note Screen Screwd

Sorry for bringing up this stupid question....but i have been going through all the note related articles and am positive that i can get some good advice over here..
Well i bought the Note 5 days back, at first it had a dead pixel so it was replaced now however the New Note i got has issues with its lock screen and in the gallery backdrop..
The blacks are all out of place, its like there is not transition from one tone of black to another
Other than this all the pics and the home screen has perfect colors without issues.
So now i have an option to go and try for another replacement tommorow however i am not sure if what is happening to my phone is normal or not, im a little worried that the new one might have further issues in it..
Please advice what should i do - Try to replace the phone or Just hang on to the one i have..
Thanks

Broken Screen

I couldn't find another topic regarding broken screen so decided to make this one.
Yesterday I broke my screen . The phone is working, but the screen not at all. Several phone repair shops offered me to fix it for 85-110 pounds. Does it worth it ? A friend of mine said to me that the replaceable screens are not as good as the original ones. If that's the case any idea how much can I get for it if I sell it like that with the broken screen? Best offer I saw was with EE recycle for 60 pounds... Any info is much appreciated.
Thanks.
Well i think its better for a professional to replace the screen, but you can tried it yourself if you know how. You can get parts really cheap and there are a lot of videos on yt on how to do it. But still I would rather let a professional fix it

My touch screen stopped responding. Will replacement help?

Hi all. I have a Z3 Compact. It's 2 years and it's running stock firmware, no root, no flash.
Currently, the whole screen is not responding to any touches. My question is, will replacing the whole screen fix this problem?
I am using another phone now, but thought it'd be good to have this fixed and keep as a spare.
Mine stopped responding to touch, and a replacement screen fixed that. Replacing the screen however means it won't be water-proof anymore for sure, so beware of that.
Hey, thanks.
Yeah, I have a Galaxy S7 for that waterproof thing. Besides, the flap covering the Micro USB port is broken. So I have been cautious about it anyway.
Thanks for confirming. I'll send it for repair.
Swapped out the display of my girlfriends z3 Compact and now she's able to swipe down the notification bar again. Repair process is difficult... I paid about 38,5€ for the screen with new glues.
Well, I tried going to a shop to get it repaired.
Apparently, there are different types of LCD panels? They have an incompatible one, so they're unable to repair mine.
Too bad for me. Anyway, I have my Galaxy S7 for my daily driver, and a OnePlus 3 for travelling. So I'm not in a hurry to get it repaired. And I get to save some money. That's always a good thing.
