For god's sake, whatever you do, don't buy:
Flytouch 3 superpad 2 (or any of its clones).
The support forum is filled with problems with the clones, too many to list.
The Ibex Flytouch 3 originals have very poor batteries, supposed to be 8000 mAh (2 x 4000), and are more like 2 x 1800. Most people are having troubles getting them to accept a charge at all.
Their internal GPS is locked to China, SOME people have managed to unlock them by spending a couple of hours deleting caches, rebooting, trying to re-fix the satellites, repeat until working or give up. MOST people still have not managed to unlock the GPS from China.
Market ONLY shows the free apps (something to do with fake sim numbers being too fake and illegitimate). When you are sent to market from an email, website, or even the tablets OWN auto update service, it won't show the app you are looking for.
They MAY appear to be cheap value-for-money Android tablet alternatives; trust me, they ARE NOT. Save up more money and get a proper named brand tablet.
Update:
My Flytouch 3 is no more, at about 4 days old the charging battery exploded, melting the FT3 and scorching the computer desk.
I urge anyone thinking of buying one of the Ibex Flytouch 3's, or its clones (Superpad 2 or 3) - DON'T!

People are always trying to find ways of getting a similar item for cheaper prices - I know, I did!.
Oh it's you Fluffbutt, I saw your whole song and dance on apad.tv the other day, not surprized they banned you. First you mess around with your battery config, then god only knows what else you did and then you blow up your tablet. Then claim it blew up on your desk.
Baring in mind no evidence what so ever anything really happened. Then you claimed that you burried your tablet under a load of used kitty litter, so couldn't show anyone the pictures to prove it, not surprized no one believes you. Shame on you.

i own this and for what i use it for its actually not bad updates are often and like all android devices its getting better with each one!
mind you my phone is faster ha
I got banned from there because they didn't want anyone warned of the faulty batteries, they're the most fanatic people over their FT3's.
So you assume I did a whole lot of things and it's my fault it exploded. You can assume anything.
"mess around with your battery config," - ChinaGrabber tell you to go to that forum for help, and do what's posted there. Now I'M to blame for doing just that?
It got buried under kitty litter because the fumes from burnt lithium batteries are toxic.
Shame on me?? you make assumptions!

Alright, everybody chill out. No name callings.

What makes you think I feel any need to prove this to anyone here?
It happened. Whether you believe it or not is irrelevant to it happening and irrelevant to me..
my 32gb iBex Flytouch3 works perfectly. Would recommend iBex Flytouch3 (real FT3) to my friends.
I bought flytouch3 from taobao.com. It cost almost 250 USD.
It may be the most expensive one in taobao, but it works good.
It can standby at least 6 hrs, and the GPS works in Taiwan.
Market can show all apps including the charged apps.
I just bought one yesterday from chinagrabber, shame on me? From what I've gathered the information this is the best and most supported chinese tablet there is..
Yes another classic example of somebody not doing their homework before buying something and then blindly attacking it with a soldering iron and hacksaw.
I'm more than satisfied with mine, it's not the fastest piece of kit, but for €150 it's certainly worth the money if you have a good working knowledge of Android and now how to fix a few quirks.
If you read around the forums, there is support for all of them. I have yet to have found an issue that couldn't be remidied in one way shape or form. I bought mine for $150 US shipped. I'm no knocking Ibex. Just merely stating that their pad isn't the only option. Open minded-ness is what I'm getting at. I've heard a lot of bad things about ChinaGrabber's return policy's etc., and that left a bad taste in my mouth. I wanted an inexpensive pad with some support on the US side (I.e warranty issues). I know I could have purchased something else, but this was what I wanted.

I've now been playing with my FT3 couple of days and I'm very happy with it, with Tim5a rom everything works, Market (it shows paid apps if I buy them from my Android cellphone). GPS works well out of the box, it's fast, Youtube, Flash all working. Battery life is very good, I don't keep it on standby as it does eat the battery even without wifi off. If you've ever used a Android phone this feels like home and the performance is the same. Resistive screen just gets a little bit more to get used to compared to capacitive but it's really responsive. Videos play very nicely, only tried 720p but all worked without a single lag.
Hey this thread scared me at start but then it looks like it ended up very good.
cuz i'm waiting for mine to arrive and i wonder is there any complete guide how to speed it up and ect..?
Thanks in advance

Don't.
Market ONLY shows the free apps not to mention all the other problems (something to do with fake sim numbers being too fake and illegitimate). For YOUR OWN sake don't buy this piece. Really if you want an ANDROID tablet then save your money and buy a legitimate Android Tablet from a well known manufacturer. It's the WORST money I've ever spent in my life. PLEASE don't waste your time. And if you do and are satisfied with a cheap poor generic excuse for an android spending hours upon end of your life downloading and installing firmware, then more power to you, have fun. I just wish I would have saved my money than to have given it to scam artists or try to get help from those who need to help sale more CRAPWARE by saying its all volunteer. Really really real. (Now watch how I get called names and treated like dirt for posting this on a thread that is titled: Warning not to buy Flytouch 3 or clones.) It's crazy how easy it is to get caught up by weirdos at crappad tv who act like they are helping the world or something not following any of there own rules. Please DON'T be fooled by the posts that follow this saying how good it is. Believe me, it is not. Save a little more money even if its just 100 or 200 more. Get a LEGITIMATE ANDROID TABLET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hello everyone. .
my dad has been using an iphone 4 32gb right from it's month of launch till date and finally he is getting a new phone.actually he is getting the phone of his choice for free as a gift and i wanted to know whether you guys think it's wiser to get the iPhone 4s 64gb since it's much more expensive at around 4100 Qatar riyals($1125) compared to the note 16gb which sells for 3000 Qatar riyals($823)at virgin and vodaphone stores..he has been using ios for over 2years now and he can still sell the 4s if he doesn't like it and get a better phone later..plus iPhone's don't come defective straight out of the box like the note..if i could trust Samsung's quality then i would never even consider the iphone!!! i really don't want dad to be in the same dilemma that i am currently in!!!
me and my mom both have note 16gb...mom purchased hers from india for 31000 rupees($600) at the month of launch and she also got a nokia touchscreen phone worth 4500 rupees($90) for free from the eBay promotion that was going on at the time.btw this is a brand new in sealed box phone and the cheap price is because Samsung prices its phones reasonably in India right from lauch and my dad purchased mine from doha at virgin mobile store for 3000 Qatar riyal ($823) and sent it over to me in India.. btw he got the money back for it though since it was also a gift from some company
my moms phone is manufactured in Korea and it does not have any problems except for the banding and clipping..on the other hand my phone is manufactured in Vietnam and right from opening the box i noticed many problems with
1)there is a very faint pink spot in the middle of the screen only visible in low brightness with a grey or white background..after i noticed it once it drives me mad while browsing or reading e-books
2)while using the S-pen it registers the touch when bringing it close to the screen..i don't have to touch the screen.when it's brought close even at 3cm it registers the touch.. the weird thing is that it occurs only when using the phone in specific positions like while lying on the bed or using the phone inverted
3)the battery life on my device sucks!!!! my mom gets over 1day of light usage on her device..but she makes around 4-5 hours of voice calls!! i always use my device heavily but 4-5 hours of backup its unacceptable!!!!
when i took the device to a local service center in India they said that i would have to pay money to get it fixed since its out of country purchase!!! WTF IT'S A FRIGGIN' $800 DEVICE AND ITS DEFECTIVE ON ARRIVAL AND SAMSUNG REFUSES TO PROVIDE SUPPORT!!!!
anyway I'm suffering for trusting Samsung and purchasing its device and I'm paying the price for putting my trust and money on a company with no quality control who sells defective devices
i was using an iPhone 4 32gb myself and i got it around the time of launch along with my dads phone and to be frank i haven't faced a single hardware problem till date and now i regret selling it off when i got the news that i was getting a note
i don't want my dad to be in the same situation that i am currently in and i think he should go for the 4s 64gb
what do you guys think???

But Iphone 4s too has problems.....A friend of mine is waiting for a replacement for the 4th time for his iphone 4s.Its just 1 week old.Its not at all holding the charge. It charges for almost 12 hours to reach 100% and drains to swith off state in just 20 mins....Its unbelievable but its true. All the four mobiles had the same problem. So be careful if you are going to 4s
"the iphone doesnt come defective out of the box" ask my wife on her 4th ip4s lol. You and your ******* family need iphones. Theres a reason my technically challenge relatives have iphones and blackberries.

why do you even bother asking such a question in a galaxy note forum, people posting here are definitely 'note' biased if not fan boys. ... (including me )
maybe you have already decided to get a note and you simple seek validation....
Did you actually type all that from a Note? (your signature says so~)
Then show that to your dad on a desktop or a laptop, then he himself would buy a Note.

i would ask him to get a note in a heartbeat if i am certain that he would get a device without any problems.. i just think with Samsung it is like a lottery.!!! if you are lucky you might end up with a device without issues otherwise you are screwed!! !!
i personally haven't faced any issues with my iPhone 4 and i used to have an HTC HD2(got wrecked inside a washing machine along with my track pants) and a Nokia N8 which didn't have any problems either...I've dropped my n8 a dozen times!! !! it used to be insured and i normally used it as a rough use phone but still it never had any problems other than slight dents even after i put it through so much

Definitely the Note.
- "old peoples" have "bad" eyesight and 5,3" will help much compared to 3,5".
- Note with S-Pen do a huge different.
- Both u and u mom already having the Notes and why not u dad too?
- See what u dad usually do with a cellphone and get the one that suits his needs.
Loan u Note to u dad, let him use it for few days and see what he got to say. Then get the one he is most satisfied with.
Best thing .. steal your dads phone and give him urs for 2 days, then give him back his iPhone..
You will see him immediatly asking for a Note as th gift
Note for sure.
So iphone too has problems. Alteast note has bigger screen and most important thing, its android
Android = from the people to the people by the people for the people.
ios = From apple to people.

lol that was hilarious...now let me be frank with you guys the whole reason i started this thread is because i personally am in love with the noteand i just wanted confirmation from people who have purchased it recently to tell me that the new production units are free from any sort of defects so that my dad can get 1..i can forgive Samsung once and i might just have been unlucky to get a one of a kind defective device which sneaked past quality control but even after soo many posts and more than 200 views not even 1 person has told me that Samsung now ships defect free units which makes me skeptical

I cant understand how people use 3.5" screens still !
HTC one X could also be a choice if Note is not at home ....
Used to own IP4 and IP4s and sold them even when jailbroke there not much you can do to it. Only gay theming and little tweaks other than that if you buy one Apple owns you they are so cheap to do hardware upgrades which they should have done after Iphone4. Note is way better than any iphone releases I will even pick S2 than iphone4 or 4s. Only reason I kept my iphone before is because of my free apps but the way I see it now Market is improving and seeing more apps and games available for download.

now now. my dad runs a few mobile phone shops in malaysia and i have used almost any mobile phone that was available in malaysia. to say that samsung is like a lottery doesnt sound right. honestly, buying every phone is like a lottery. we had customers who bought their phones for less than a week and come back with problems after problems after problems and you just cant help but feel sorry for them. when iphone 4s was first launched, my dad sold 2 straight to one of his friend. 2 weeks later, both screens werent working at all. some complained that the battery life was worse than 3gs some had no problems.
saying N8 is a tough phone hmm. i have dropped my iphone 3gs many times and no problem with mine either. one of the lucky customers accidentally dump his phone while holding in his hands onto his car and the whole screen was gone.
so far, i havent heard of any note with problems from customers. my dad is using note since the first batch and i just got mine yesterday. so far so good with no problem for mine and his. maybe yours was just one of the lucky ones? my dad is samsungs priority dealer so we get to have all the samsung mobile phones first hand and that means we sell the first batch too.
IMO, get what you think is best for him. let him try yours and see if he likes android or iOS. What we think is good may not be good for him. consider this, will he be able to port from iOS to android? does he just want a simple phone to just make calls and text just like the way he used to? or he wants something more.
i would go for note anyday too.
stability and usability: iphone 4s
functionality: note

Today, I had a chance to test for awhile new Nexus 4 phone. It was demo version in Carphone Warehouse.
I have been told, they selling only this phone with a contract, so I haven't asked more as we know Google is selling it with "no strings attached".
First impression was really good, nice phone, big enough but not so big, light weighted.
Screen is very responsive, considering it has still protective film on in. I had no chance to test WiFi as well as 3G connections, as this phone has no simcard. During the test once appears one white artefact on the bottom of the screen and suddenly disappear once I touched the screen.
I hope some of photos tell more than I wrote.
I would like to thank for people from Carephone Warehouse in Croydon, where I was able to test this phone.
Your test was all wrong, you are meant to come back and tell us every little fault with the phone and moan about how terrible a company Google are. Tell us to never ever get this phone and go on for 3 pages about the lack of LTE (even tho useless in UK) and micro SD card
@roughavoc why shall I moan about this? I'm considering to buy this phone, but as we know it's not available right now. Yesterday, sale was started and finished immediately. Lack of LTE? That's true - but as Three network user, I will not need LTE for year or even longer.
There's no micrSD card... but it's microSIM... how wonderfull
Seriously, there's no reason to be disappointed, besides the first impression was really good - considering the price of this device.
He was being sarcastic
If a 'first mini test' means picking up a display handset in store, then god help us.

Realized I bought a fake galaxy s5 earlier today. I didn't know there were so good fakes out there now, I haven't kept up with cell phones since the HTC EVO 3D. I'm mad, I bought it for $325 . I am so ****ing pissed at myself for being so stupid. I should have come on here first and done some research but I was dying for a new phone since I have been on the Nokia Lumia 900 for the past year and its on its last legs, saw the 325 price tag on CL and jumped on it thinking I got a good deal. Never again will I let impulses get the best of me. This is more of a rant, but also here is this guys information in case any of you are in the Central Florida region (this is a copy and paste of a CL ad I just made warning other users on CL):
This mother****er sold me a fake Galaxy S5. His ads are the following links:
links are blocked because I have less than 10 posts
His phone number is: 7862021013
And he calls himself T. He is a tall black man that drives a sedan. He will ask you to meet him in front of Walmart on Turkey Lake Rd.
DO NOT BUY THE GALAXY S5 or any phones from him, no matter how low he is going. The S5 is 100% fake. Run CPU-ID app on phone and you will see that it does not have a Snapdragon process but an ARM Cortex old ass one. It also does not have 16gb memory but 1.7gb. Also if you look at the box you will notice that it says 3GB of RAM when the original Galaxy S5 really has 2GB. This man is a lie and a cheat. Do not get conned like I have. I gave him $325 and am stuck with a fake ass replica.
This is only fair warning to other CL users, I would hate to hear of others fall victim to this con.
**edit: Updated with pictures of the fake s5. I should have looked at the box itself more closely, right there it said 3GB RAM, Fell so stupid.

For $325 for an S5 you should expect it to be stolen, Broken, or bad IMEI. Or in this case fake. I NEVER use craglist anymore due to this happening to people with any & everything. I also Highly Recomend Swappa.com I see fakes sold ALL the time on Cragslist. I Usually send harassing texts about to them as well. lol.
But could you not tell it was fake? I know they have gotten better at making decent knock offs but usually at first glance of the front and or software / Screen I can tell easily.
That wretch, I feel for you! Just make sure when you get the S5 get the new one with more memory. Just chalk it up as a lesson learned, heck you have a little toy to play with now.

Orlando Police are jokes. They don't do squat EVEN if you give them all the evidence they need. I only have his phone number, I don't have a pic of him or his car plate. I should have been more skeptical when I saw him take out a burner phone...so stupid. I also put up pictures just now to show you all what I got.

You have a phone number and a CR add, they could easily find him.
Dude, be honest here, you were buying a new phone for $325 from a dude in a parking lot. You KNEW you were likely buying stolen property and didn't care. Your not calling the police has nothing to do with their competence .. or lack there of.

Doesn't hurt to call and talk to PD.
Are you sure ?
Hi, Sad to hear that... But you 100% sure that its fake ? did you factory reset it once before use ? coz everything else its pretty perfect did you check camera before buy like selected focus n hdr ??

No man, I just thought I got a good deal lol. 325 is still a lot of money for a stolen/fake phone. I have gotten good deals like that in the past before, and have met ppl in a parking lot, so this wasn't very off to me. But I think I probably will call them tomorrow.

Ya, you can tell just from the CPU-ID pictures I have there, the processor isn't the real one and theres only 2GB of usable memory...100% fake. Also the outside cosmetics are off. I wish I had researched this before I bought it. Stupid me. And no I didn't check the camera, I was actually in a rush to leave cuz it was 96 degrees out here today and I was sweating balls lolz. Next time I'll meet people in a starbucks or something and take time to look over what I'm buying
For me the first thing that popped was the led flash. In every fake cell phone it has that look/texture whereas in original phones it has a totally different look. For the author of this thread, this is something to be learned. Even if the phone is sealed in a box, open it, check it, look carefully at the exterior and then look in the phone info. If the seller does not want you to open the box simply pass, there are enough phones out there.

I just took a look at the home button and it is black, from the outside it does look remarkably well done! But I would never buy on a parking lot, that is always fishy, no matter where you are from.

Well lesson learned. Be glad it's only for $325. Please call the police and see if they can do anything. Thanks BTW, I just downloaded CPU-Z, nice app, everyone should use it when buying any used phone.
Damn that sucks bad man. I never buy on craigslist, I only sell. I feel for you buddy. Lesson learned for all of us.

Incorrect. The S4 had silver, are you thinking of that? If you have a black S5 and your earpiece is silver, it's you that has a fake lol.

It's the white S5 I have and they do have silver earpiece, but maybe you right about the black version.
I've had a lot of devices. Maybe thirty phones in the last 15 years. I think I know what I'm talking about.
Because I've been intimate with them. I've used them daily for years on end.
And then I go to the tech shop or the phone store or the market. And it just seems to me all these guys, the ones behind the counters talking about battery quality and never getting any returns, are they for real?
The do get to see a lot of phones. But do they USE them? Are they to be trusted?
No one is to be trusted. Trust your own judgement, don't even trust that fully.
Those shopkeepers are trained to come at you with a rehearsed sales pitch. They have 5% technical knowledge and 95% marketing knowledge. They typically only know enough about the devices in thier shop to be able to sell them.
But that's the nature of it. Buyers are responsible for doing thier own research before even setting foot inside a store, and should be aware that it is a salesman's job to sell you the stuff in thier shop.
It's easy for people like us to assume that everybody knows at least the technical basics of these devices. Most people do not. Not even people whose jobs are based upon these things. Assume that you know more about smartphones than anybody you come in contact with. 99% of the time, that assumption will prove correct. It's not thier fault. We are XDA geeks, they are not.

No one is to be trusted ha I love that.
Bot those guys aren't ways just pitching you know. You can engage them in conversation... Frustrating at yes, enlightening at others.
In my experience its always the guys at the tech market, the small importers that know best.
Theres only one shop around me where they sell unlocked and refurbished phones, the rest where I live are carrier stores like sprint or verizon shops.
The guy at the independant shop knows a ton about the hardware side of things, more than I know even. He makes most of his living repairing usb ports and replacing cracked screens and such.
But even he knows very little about the software/firmware side of it all. I used to do some things to some of the used refurbished phones he sells, so he could make a little more money off of low-end devices, but I showed him some basics of how to do what I was doing so he could do it himself.
You're lucky to have even a few shops around you with knowledgable staff. I just have the internet and lots of friends who want me to 'pimp thier phones' for them lol.

They're hired for their sales skills, not their technical knowledge. The same goes for most customer support personnel.
If they know anything at all, it's usually about iPhones.

Sales is only good initially and you will get paid. This will become boring tasks sooner or later.
I remember as I was moving away from the 3 network using my HTC M7, the 3 person from the other side kept trying to sell me the Samsung Galaxy S5 and I was telling him the actual specs of the device as he didnt seem to know !

Case in point. Went yesterday to the market (the food markets in russia usually also have hardware stores in the vicinity) to get light bulbs for the office. Went to the lighting shop where they sell every kind of bulb and led strip imaginable. Quite handy.
Asked the guy about his experience using german made versus russian made bulbs. These are speciality bulbs for workshop lighting for artists.
He had nothing to say. Oh he knows about luminosity and color gamut sure. But he knows nothing about their exploitation. In his own words "i just sell the stuff".

Fortunately i know my light bulbs. But i was still curious - in these "difficult" for russia times - what he would have to say on the matter.
The wub you see is a simple one. You may buy german made, imported light bulbs at a 20% markup to russian made ones. Now on paper that sounds like the german ones are better.
However, the ones made in russia are made by license on german production lines by german trained workers.
For me the point is moot. I wont pay 20% more for imported low tech goods in general. But the fact that a guy who works exclusively in a light shop and knows the details of the lighting he sells doesnt have any experience using the bulbs is disheartening. To look at him, hes the consummate general store guy. But alas...

I think my point is that shopkeepers vary. Some are knowledgeable and worth engaging in conversation in order to increase ones own knowledge. Some not.
Another blunder - i turn up at the shop to get my new nexus 9 and the guy keeps telling me he wont let me open the boxes to see the display quality until i buy. WTF is that???

Ask him a demo model if available. Also, he is correct on his point. What if you dont buy the device afterwards and no one will take an opened box(at least not me) as they will feel its 2nd hand or something. The shopkeeper doesnt know you and they do not trust anyone....

Oh sure they do, the one on display is perfect! But the one i get in a box is not and they give me a choice:
1. take your money back and go away
2. leave your nexus here, we will send it to lg for expert evaluation and then either give you a new one (in which case if you still have a crap one, repeat) or you can also take your money and go away
Option two takes ~1 month. No choice at all when youre buying a device that came out a week ago is it?
