General OnePlus 10 pro 5g vs OnePlus 9 pro 5g - 5g comparable - OnePlus 10 Pro

Let me start off by saying I like OnePlus smartphones. They have done in NA what Xiaomi have not with there flagship smart phones. Too bad MiMix....
I'm big into 5g, because anything that is faster is better.
My first OnePlus was the 8T 5g phone. It connected to 5g like any other NA smartphone homologated for my network (Canada). It was fast, and it worked right out of the box for 5g.
I soon upgraded to the OnePlus 9 pro 5g, and right out of the it would not acknowledge not connect to 5g. Ugh! I soon updated the stock firmware and found some work around by modding a file so that the 9 pro would connect to 5g even after rebooting. 5g switching was not necessary. It wasn't that great, it was faster than 4g, but lagged behind in raw speed compared to the 8t 5g (as well as my RAZR 5g, and my son's iPhone 13 pro max). I soon lost the ability to use the modified 5g band file with subsequent firmware updates. So i reverted to the PlayStore app 5g switcher. Still, not the greatest 5g in terms of speed. I know our network up in metropolitan Canada is strong, just was disappointed.
I'm now using the OnePlus 10 pro 5g with the 5g switcher app and i must say the speed and performance on 5g is way better than the OnePlus 9 pro 5g. I guess that one extra 5g band makes all the difference in the world in terms of consistent and fast download speeds.
I would rate the 10 pro a slight notch better in terms of 5g speed over the 8T 5g, and several notches above the 9 pro.
If your looking to make the switch because of the speed on 5g, you cannot compare the two. 10 pro is the way to go. I must also say that the OxygenOS is alot smoother on the 10 pro over the 9 pro (not enough of a reason to upgrade), why is that? And the extra 500mAH of battery capacity the 10 pro has on the 9 pro can get you through a day with less battery anxiety (I sound like one of those EV owners) which in my books is always another feather in the hat to upgrade to the 10 pro over the 9 pro.
Cheers

Unfortunately the OnePlus 10 Pro does not come with a UW band mm wave radio. The OnePlus 9 Pro does. So possibly because your in Canada you don't get UW mm wave ?

Clarification on models, prices and release dates please. A little confused!

I'm trying to understand the comparisons and the best one to go for.
I've recently become aware of the phones since I'm now hunting one for my wife.
I got excited to watch a review about the Redmi K20 Pro until I understood it was primarily for the Chinese & Indian market, and it doesn't support band 20.
I'm in the UK so it looks like I must import one and be mindful of the lack of band 20. Importing is not an issue for me since I've done with my Xiaomi Max 3 when it first came out.
But then I started to get a little confused because the review was comparing it to a Xiaomi Mi 9T and other sites said they were identical. They're not though as the Redmi has a better CPU but it is however, the same as the 9T 'Pro'. I realised (especially because of the title of this forum!) that the two Pros are the same except the 9T Pro is for the European market. Please let me know if I'm wrong at this point.
So, now for me, it comes down to the price versus band 20. Does anyone know when the 9T Pro is being released if not already because I can only find it to pre-order?
Also, will the difference between the 2 phones only be the bands?
I get the feeling the 9T Pro is going to be more expensive, how much I don't know but if it's going to be long time before it's released, I will consider the Redmi K20 Pro instead.
If you can see what my predicaments are then I'd be grateful for any advice about this and recommendations.
Thanks very much.
So i bought the k20 pro a few weeks ago and received it last Friday. The LTE connectivity is good for me in the Netherlands.
A friend of mine bought the mi 9t pro last week trough dutch smartphone seller belsimpel.nl and received his phone yesterday.
The phones are exactly the same, hardware wise. Firmware wise they differ. The 9T pro firmware has support for band 20, like you said.
But in theory the k20 pro should be able to support it band 20 because there is no hardware difference.
At the moment it is not clear yet whether the European firmware can be installed on the k20 pro since it is Qualcomm proprietary software. (this is what i read somewhere on this forum, correct me if iam wrong anyone)
Perhaps someone will be able to find a solution for that, but i don't know for sure whether its possible.

USA Buyer Alternative - OnePlus 7T Plus?

I'm just wondering how many of you are considering this phone instead of the ROG 2. I'm considering it because I believe it will have complete USA LTE band support and better development. If the North American version of Rog 2 comes out first I would definitely consider it as well but I feel ASUS doesn't release their phones for months after they announce it...such as the Zenfone 6. There is also the Red Magic 3S but it's only available in Asia.
Basically I'm considering any phone with the Snapdragon 855+
Rog Phone 2 should be widely available by next week if I'm mistaken and the international models have more bands than the China tencent models. I guess Asus was not prepared for the ZenFone 6 demand. OnePlus will have way more development. Red Magic 3 software was trash, Rog phone > rm3s pretty much every way.

I considered both but ultimately the curved screen, significantly worse battery life, and higher price tag drove me away from OnePlus.
Other options in the US for reasonably priced flagships are the Axon 10 pro and pixel 3A (if you haven't tried one of these you really should, it's shockingly good, much better than the proper pixel 3).
The oneplus pro 7t may not come to USA, but Verizon has apparently signed a contract to allow the oneplus pro 7t McLaren edition prob Jan 2020. This will be my backup in case Verizon wants to be an a hole with Asus.

Question Poco m3 pro or Redmi note 10 5g?

Do you know the difference between poco m3 pro and note 10 5g?
M3pro exists in 2 versions 4gb and 6gb and note 10 5g only 4gb.
You can buy m3pro 6gb for the same price like note (or cheaper, I paid 170$).
3 years ago I bought last device with 4gb. Today this small ram does not have a sense. Is redmi note 10 5g absolutely without a sense?
How can we classify the m3pro\note ?
It is comparable to redmi note 8 pro, and this is not budget level, where we have redmi 9a, m3 ... We can not compare it to redmi 9. There is shorter way to device with snap 71x.
Why I see many news titled: new budget 5g smartfon?
It should be reserved for snap 480 devices like new announced one plus.

At the moment all telecom company in my country are testing 5g in some important place like Hanoi, hochiminh, Huế city. I'm live in Hanoi and also can try 5g for free
All the spec in the both the phones are exactly the same expect the RAM, which makes the Redmi Note 10 a bit expensive! If you need storage you can go for Note 10. Other than that there is no special specs..

Question Cant get 5g in 5g area with Eir Mobile, Someone said updating the carrier policy document on the phone would help

Hi guys. Came here as im having problems with my Redmi Note 10 5g. I was with Three Ireland and was able to get 5g but the signal in my home wasnt the best, Someone told me that Eir 5G had much better reception so i switched my network to them, However now i cant get 5g at all with Eir. Im on a 5g plan and my area is covered for 5G. I seen posts about the Oneplus 8 pro 5g having same kind of problems with Eir and users said that by update the carrier policy document on the phone with Eir 5g settings enabled fixed it for them. However i cant find anything like this for the Redmi Note 5g.
I was just wondering if anyone here could maybe point me to a guide or in the right direction to do this for my phone?.

Question 5G now available in my city...but,can't able to use because of the awaited Software update...when can I expect this?

Expecting a fast update...

Patience is key although pestering on Samsung members might help
FWIW, 5G is all but gimmicky. I had 5g enabled for a few days and then came to realize what's the use of having 5g to get emails and whatsapp messages. 5G makes sense if you download a lot of stuff/ if you watch 8k videos on youtube or you'd like to see crazy download speeds in the speed test app... I hit 1200mbps download once on the app... Anything else, 5g is only going to drain your battery and trust me you will revert to 4g once the vanity wears off.

Agreed, it's not only drain battery fast but it will consume the data like hell, for sure after a while I'll also going to switch back-forth to 4G-5G
I guess they will have to update the modem config. so maybe soon. This is similar to my country, it take quite a while for samsung to enable N28 SA band and 5G CA despite that the phone hardware is capable of N28 SA (but actually 5G CA is a surprise for me because I don't think that the hardware will be capable of)
