Where is AP_PS_HOLD on Galaxy S7? - Device Repair

In the service manual for Galaxy S7 (SM-G930F), step number four in the flow chart for troubleshooting power-on issue is to check the voltage level of a "signal".
Check the signal of AP_PS_HOLD = 1.8V

I had a very hard time locating this. I didn't understand what it means to check for voltage of something by its signal name, and it's location was not described in the service manual (not that I could see in my four chapter excerpt of the complete manual). Then I learned that this signal name needs to be translated into a test point (TP) ID on the board. This is unlikely to be referenced in a service manual. So unless you have circuit diagrams for the phone, you will have a very hard time knowing what signal name translates to what test point on the board.
In my search for a test point for this signal, I have found where it's located on the Galaxy S2 (GT-I9100).
This is where it's at on Galaxy S2:
I think I have located a test point for it on the Galaxy S7 Edge (SM-G935F) and the Galaxy S7 (SM-G930F) as well, but I'm not sure if I have the right idea on how to probe it.
This is where it's at on Galaxy S7:
This is where it's at on Galaxy S7 Edge:
Can someone confirm please? Is TP7002 the test point for AP_PS_HOLD on Galaxy S7? As you can see, on the Galaxy S2, the test point looks like a proper test point, in the form of a copper contact pad. But on Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, it looks like it's protected by a layer of paint/coat, if it is a test point at all. So I'm thinking about scratching or scraping that layer off so I can get down to the copper. Is that the right idea here? I have never seen a test point looking like this, and I know what a test point usually looks like. @Renate I would appreciate advice on this.
I could not find a good picture of the Galaxy S7 Edge board. And I only assume that TP7002 serves the same purpose on the regular Galaxy S7. I don't know this for a fact. I don't know most of these things for a fact. Also, if it says to "check the signal", does it mean to use an oscilloscope? If it needs to be a steady 1.8 V, can I not check it with a multimeter? I don't need to see what the signal looks like?

Gear vr?

Hi,
I had 2016 gear vr to work with my note 7, I've now got the note 8 and found sadly that it doesn't fit the 2016 model. I've got a suspicion that I have been brought the 2017 S8/S8+ model for christmas but concerned if that is the case that the note 8 still wouldn't fit. It's annoying that there is no definite information. If you look on amazon at the model number Samsung SM-R324NZAABTU it states that it will not work with the note 8 but then if you check samsungs website around half way down the page it says "*Gear VR with Controller requires Samsung Galaxy Note8, S8, S8+, S7, S7 edge, Note5, S6, S6 or S6 edge+ to operate" but doesn't specifically say whether it would fit or not.
Could Someone please confirm if it actually fits properly in the 2017 gear vr or if it is no different to the 2016 model? I'm aware other posts have covered this topic just want further clarification.

I have the note 7 vr and the only thing that makes the note 8 not fit is the connection port which can be changed as note 7 and note 5 use different usb ports.
The usb c port is a tiny bit too narrow as it was made for note 7 fit which means that the note 7 was slimmer then note 8.
If it is possible to get the port made for note 8 separate instead of having to buy full vr set.
Or maybe Samsung thinks that all civilians have money trees growing in their back yards and therefore can afford to spend money each year to buy extras that should have been able to carry on from previous models...

Hello!
I am using a SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 8 Exynos Version 64 gb SM-N950F running on 1 October security patch.
I am waiting for a fix but nothing seems to be fixed.
To explain Black crush in few words: Area with Black pixel where it should show shadow gradient.
Colour Banding:
Gradient colour are not transforming smoothly into another one.
My phone's screen is ridiculously bad to even look at after this. Because let me get straight i bought this to see beautiful AMOLED screen; not to see this bloched screen.
Anyone facing this issue please comment below as it will be helpful.
And please note that a screenshot will not identify this problem as other display's on earth are perfect. So you have to take photo with a camera of your NOTE 8.
I have attached some photos with links to explain it better. This is happening as well as with gradient wallpapers but i can't get focus even on my crappy G5 plus camera. And looks so much worse in real world.

Here is a link from a XDA thread to show how bad it looks and what is exactly happening here. The post is by GALAXY s9 user which is exact same problem for my GALAXY NOTE 8 now...Weird!

Thanks to SAMSUNG Customer Care India for replacing my display BUT the problem still persists. I can't even use this phone on regular basis. I am using my broken G5 Plus. Atleast the screen is not that messed up.
Please SAMSUNG fix this ASAP.

Please comment below if you have this issue.
ended up selling my device for 100$

Screen Replacement

Would anyone recommend where to buy new screen for rog 3 in Europe ?
Broke my one after nearly two years :/
Had a similar problem with my old Zenfone...
Usually best chances are ebay and AliExpress.. but depending on how new your model is, it might be costly. And adding insult to injury: It's a real pain to do that yourself (hairdryer and all).
EOD: I gave up those glued crap phones altogether and went for fairphone instead. And I don't regret that choice
PS: I don't know if that applies already but wasn't there some EU directive demanding manufacturers to provide spare parts? Perhaps the Asus people themselves will help you?
Left question on Asus board as well. Will give it 24 and order one from aliexpress if no one had a chance.
I hope you get screen protection proper this time as well
Nah, just kdding - my last screen protector covered everything, almost everything, except for about 1mm on the sides... of course, it fell on such unprotected spot.
Good luck!
BTW, did you ever change a screen before?
I’ve done dozens iPhones X included. Familiar with small screws and hands still not shaking
Found one in Germany looking for the phone itself...

Compared to that a fairphone screen is "cheap" with the original 89€
It wasn’t cheap but defo worth it.
Already on it’s way to Ireland with DHL.
Same Phones starting at 450+
iPhone screens are cheapest on the market
