Firestick Stuck on white Amazon boot logo - Fire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My Firestick was running very slow this morning so I used the shutdown/restart option in the setting menu. When the firestick started its reboot, it got as far as the black screen with the white Amazon logo. It is 2nd generation firestick.
I waited the 25 minutes recommended for reboot/update. No change.
I tried holding the right navigation button along with the back arrow key for the ten seconds recommended. No change.
I plugged a different firestick into the TV and it worked normally with the original power cord and extender.
I reinstalled the old firestick and then checked the TV "Source" for the firestick (DMI 2). The firestick isn't shown.
I moved the firestick to DMI 3 and checked source again. Firestock not shown (even though it must be detected if the Amazon logo is making it to the TV).
I'm confused:
If the firestick is plugged into the DMI port, it is normally shown when I check source.
If the firestick is dead, then why is it getting as far as the Amazon logo?
I know that a replacement firestick is inexpensive, but it is frustrating not knowing why it would die at the same time I did a simple restart.
Any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks

[SOLVED ]Chromecast keeps factory resetting when plugged into TV

Got my chromecast day and tried setting it up, first few attempts failed. When I plugged the CC into my TV, the screen shows the 'home' or default CC setup screen then it goes blank.
Eventually I managed to set everything up without plugging the CC in, it updated too. Then I tried casting from youtube, it found the device no problem but when I plug it into the TV, after about 10 seconds or so of casting the device 'resets' and then the CC logo appears and it says 'restoring factory settings'
Bought this brand new off eBay, unboxed. Seems bust to me. Anyone else had these issues? I've tried different HDMI ports and using the USB/AC power. The TV is a Samsung.
TLDR It works fine until I actually plug it into the TV, then it resets itself and I have to do the setup over.

What is the first 4 of your serial?
Some units have buttons that tend to get stuck in the pushed position, which will cause a settings reset like you describe.
You can...
get a piece of weak tape (scotch tape, painter's tape or light duty masking tape) and stick it to the button, then pull it off
push on your reset button firmly (but not crushingly), wiggle slightly, then release to see if it pops back up
flick the button with your fingernail
That's done it! The button didn't seem depressed but I pressed it a few times to see if it 'clicked' back out, didn't seem to make any difference, but when I tried the setup again it ran smoothly!
thanks dude!
:good: Funny little buttons...
Wow didn't know someone posted this same problem. I've had my CC for a bit....and it frkn did that all the time. I got fed up with it and haven't used it .....I will try above suggestions. ...thanks....I'll let you know if it worked for me..If you want to know lol

[Q] help with Kindle fire X43Z60 not booting up

I see some similar threads in this forum but nothing that was suggested helps, so I thought I'd create a new question:
I got a kindle fire X43Z60 that is stuck at boot. I was told it had a problem with the charging port that needed to be replaced. I'm assuming after a while a lot of jiggling was needed to charge it and even that stopped working after a while.
I purchased a main board off of ebay, the board was described as from a broken kindle and but was tested and was in working condition. I replaced the old board with the new one but the symptoms are exactly the same. Then I bought a replacement battery off ebay, but new battery did not help either.
I don't have the original charger for the kindle but have multiple micro USB chargers and I assume one of them would work (from Galaxy S4, original nook, others).
The way it looks (with new and old, battery and main board), is that when I press the power button initial "kindle fire" shows up and then disappears. When I press and hold the power button, the "kindle fire" logo disappears, I let the button go, then the logo appears again, disappears for a second and it appears again but now there's this graphical effect rolling over the logo as if it was booting up. At some point after it just powers off abruptly. Occasionally I'm able to boot it up all the way using that method and it would stay on for a minute until a message would appear "are you sure you want to power down" and it would power down without me having a chance to respond. It kind of looks like the battery is drained. When I do boot it up all the way the battery indicator shows it as not nearly drained.
When I hook the kindle up to a PC using USB cable, the initial kindle fire logo just appears and disappears in a loop. I dont see the kindle being visible to the PC.
What else can i try to fix it?
Is there nobody that knows solution to this, or at least give me a hint where to look?

I think you have to call Amazon's Customer Service.

Kindle Fire 7" - 3rd Generation (Soho) Stuck at Logo Screen, Possibly Bricked

I was given an old Kindle Fire HD 7" 3rd Generation KFSOWI - Soho completely stock and was playing with it a bit and decided to try the KingRoot app (NOT KingORoot). It was going along and got to 35% then said it failed and asked if I wanted to try again. I clicked try again. Thats when everything went downhill. It rebooted on its own then displayed the all white Kindle Fire logo then moved to the brighter white and orange logo with the glimmer moving across the screen. There it stays now. It wont go any further.
I have tried to use Vol - and PWR with it turned off to try to get to Recovery or Vol + and PWR for Fastboot but after the all white logo it just shuts off. Its as if the recovery utility is no longer there.
I do have a Fastboot/Factory cable I made a while ago and when I plug that in it does get to Fastboot mode. However in ADB on my desktop it wont see it there. If I plug in a standard USB cable to the Kindle and let it go to the white n orange logo then ADB will see it and brings up the Serial number but instead of saying "device" it says "unauthorized".
I am seriously at a loss right now as I have been googling to to fix this since it happened and all the ready made utilities are for other generation devices.
I have tried the usual holding the power button for 60 seconds to turn it off and then try turning it back on but nothing works.
Im just not sure what can be done with I cant get to recovery and ADB either wont see it or says its unauthorized.
PLEASE HELP!

Classic FireOS boot hang. Tough to fix on older (pre 5th gen) devices that do not offer a way to reload FireOS from stock recovery.
Unfortunately, this is not the correct forum for your device (this thread is for 5th & 7th gen Fire 7). You'll want to repost your question here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/kindle-fire-hd

Boot powered off device directly into Fastboot mode

Hello,
I'm attempting to use hardware key combinations in order to boot into Fastboot mode, e.g.. Power + volume up & power + volume down.
The phone is unresponsive. But the phone boots normally when only pressing the power button.
I've read the tutorial about launching Fastboot through a PC connection here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/rog-phone-2/help/howv-to-phone-fastboot-mode-screenshots-t3966727
But in this case, that wont be an option since my display doesn't work, hence there's no way to accept ABD-permissions when prompted on the phones' screen.
I was initially trying to pull all the data from the phone through ADB. When I realized I hadn't accepted my PC's ADB permissions on my ROG Phone, I had to rethink..
So I thought I could plant my PC's RSA-key (for accepting ADB) in my ROG Phones storage through Fastboot, just pushing the file.
I was dumbfounded when I discovered my ROG Phone 2 to be the only android device I've owned, which seemingly doesn't allow for a raw manual boot into Fastboot? CAN THIS REALLY BE THE CASE?
Any input would be highly appreciated
EDIT: I've ordered an USB-c hub for inputting kb+m & HDMI, which should allow me to accept the permissions. Although some of the data I'm trying to reach are time sensitive, any second rescued would be of value!
Similar problem
Hello,
I have a similar problem. My display is broken but the phone seems to still work. I bought an USB-C hub, but when I connect the phone to the TV (via the side USB port) it only shows a white "Asus rog" logo for a few seconds and then vanishes. When I click the mouse the logo reappears again for a few seconds.
Did it work with the hub you got? Do you have an other idea? I need the data that ist sadly still on the phone.
Thank you for your help.

I did work with the usb-c hub. Never saw any white ASUS ROG logo, I'm not sure what's going on with your phone. Also I later replaced the screen third-party, since ASUS charges a lot of money and insists on factory reseting the phone. So you could always do the latter if nothing else works. Send me a PM if you want the display I got.

Watch wacked out and now will not boot.

First, the watch stopped responding to touch and the buttons out of nowhere, but the bezel worked. Then it entered a boot loop for about 18 hours. Still, since the buttons did not work I could not break the loop. As per youtube.com instructions I tried to reset the device to fix it to no avail. Then it spontaneously would select accessibility screen reader on the Setup screen except it would read only a few words from the paragraph's selection. It did this on and off for about 3 hours. Then it entered Wireless download mode. After a short while, it turned off and is completely bricked.
I cannot de-brick it with net odin because the buttons still do not work, even though; if charging; the top button (not the power button); will show and hide the battery percentage.
I have a crazy suspicion my neighbor has something to do with this. He is an admitted sadistic psycho/sociopath (and he passes the test.. I've read 10 books on identifying psycho/sociopaths.) He is high-functioning and a genius. He has even admitted to hacking my computer. I went back into my house and my computer was, indeed, hacked.
I saw a youtube.com video where a user soldered a USB cable to the watch to connect it to his computer for Odin. Is this my only hope?
