Hi all,
Just this morning, my back button on my I9000m seems to be acting funny (Phone is only about 3 days old). When I hit it it seems to get "stuck" for a pretty good time, (i can reproduce it by hitting it twice, will get stuck most of the time on the second hit; or even when trying to back out of multiple things.. will hang).
It'll eventually "unstuck" itself after like 10-15 seconds or so..
I can force unstuck by locking and then unlocking the screen via the power button..
Have tried restarting the phone, battery pulling it... only thing left to try is to flash the bugger..
I don't think it's hardware, because it is functional, I get haptic feedback and what not.. it almost feels like its waiting to do something....
Running Stock JH2 w/ OCLF...
Help?
Hey guys, I got my Incredible S a while ago. It's a splendid phone. My dad gave it tome as a gift, he bought it from Singapore. I rooted and installed many roms over the course of having it. Up until today I was using the Revolutionary 2.3.0 rom. I was browsing a Diablo 3 app on the phone when suddenly my volume down button (without me pressing it) began to function on its own. I was like "Ok, just restart the phone, probably something bugged." After the restart nothing happened for a while until after 3 minutes its started vibrating in Vibrate mode (Displaying the volume rocker on-screen) I decided to change roms since I have some .zips laying around. I installed MIUI 2.1.16 (a fairly old version I know for certain is working) Still, the issue persisted and after another restart I cannot get past Hboot. My phone is stuck in Hboot cycling the options on its own (without entering them). All my other keys function perfectly except the media button. If anyone has experienced similar issues I'd love to hear some feedback. I've also searched other threads on here, NOTHING found so far.
Cheers,

Take the back cover off and examine the actual hardware button that sits under the rocker switch. Perhaps it is stuck in the down position. See it you can get it to pop back up.
That was the first thing I did, the key is not stuck and I can freely press it. As a last resort I can send it to a local service shop but I'd like to see if I can manage this at home first. =)
Ok, fast update: by pressing the Volume UP button while pressing the Power button I managed to boot my phone into the rom itself. Now the Volume Down button does not function at all. I'll just run it through a local service shop and see if they can fix it. I was looking to buy a new phone anyways. Might keep this one as for my other carrier's sim card. =)
Alright, I am in quite the pickle right now with my device. I have an AT&T M7, I picked it up online used. The volume down button is pretty much broke and only works very, very rarely. I was having some reception issues and figured I'd do a complete wipe in TWRP, system included and I was pretty stupid that I accidentally rebooted instead of pushing a rom to it. Now I'm stuck with the HTC boot up screen when I turn it on, and I've been trying to catch it at just the right time to boot into the bootloader by holding power and volume down, letting it shut off manually and waiting for it to reboot but to no avail. I scoured the internet before coming here as a last resort, to see if anyone could help. If it's completely screwed I'm going to just sell it for parts. Thank you all in advance!
My GF was making a call with my Note5 and it popped up Process System isn't responding - OK, Wait - neither of which did anything. also it was vibrating every second or so, probably while trying to bring the system process back up and it crashing again.
Holding power didn't seem to turn it off but eventually it restarted to SAMSUNG screen, where it CONTINUES to vibrate every second and never progress.
Holding power does not shut it down.
What the heck do I do now!?
This is a relatively new phone but I bought it from some guy who I can't get back in contact with. It had been working fine for a week, rooted, running Dr Ketan rom.
edit: OK, after about 5 minutes of it vibrating at the SAMSUNG screen I tried holding power AND vol down, this (perhaps coincidentally) then rebooted it and it seemed to come up fine this time. It's a real pain not having a removable battery when something like this happens.
Hello forum,
I try not to post on forum for help unless I run out of options. I used to encounter loops before and managed to fix them but this one is really weird. So a bit of background : I was running stock ROM + TWRP recovery and everything seemed normal till one day when I encountered my first loop after opening up newly installed app ( although I don't think it relevant to this case ). But anyway, when I opened it, phone restarted itself immediately and kept doing it (didn't get pass the logo) for around 5 minutes when finally booted into the OS. After that everything seemed fine for...about a month when the same loops started to happen more and more often. They usually happen when phone has it screen turned off and I press power button to wake it up, it then gives me 3 seconds as If I would hold the power button and volume down button prompting me that it's about to restart itself. So I thought, that there has to be some junk apps that are fighting with each other causing these loops and I went for the recovery. But (stupid me) instead of wiping only the apps I got rid of the whole ROM with recovery ( ). So this time I flashed a custom ROM (ViperOne+9.0.0-fix) using ADB (adb push etc etc) and TWRP thinking that maybe the previous ROM was the issue. (I forgot to mention that even when there was no OS on the phone it was still looping.) After a while when the loops stopped, I got into the recovery and flashed ViperOne with no problems at all. Phone booted itself into the OS, everything seemed normal to the point where I left it for couple of minutes, pressed power button and it went into to eternal loop where it only stopped when the battery was drained. It was literally loopin the whole night (couldn't sleep). Now when I connect it to charge it doesn't go into charging but goes straight into the loop. I can get as far as the bootloader and selecting to go to recovery and after I press power button to select it, it goes into the loop. NOW..this might sound like there is a hardware issue (the power button) but I highly doubt it. Ill appreciate any kind of solutions. :silly: Thanks in advance.
