I've decided to sell the XDA - I'm using the Sigmarion III way too much to justify keeping the XDA. Check it out here on eBay - its a great deal considering all the extras..

Prefer integrated GSM & WIFI above nicer look & WM20

Yep, otherwise it's not worth selling my xda IIi when no Wifi or no GSM integrated. I don't gonna buy it for its compacter look & windows mobile 2005. Just nicer icons, tested it on MDAII, battery runs down faster also.
Will have to wait some time

Does T-Mobile already have the phone??

Does T-Mobile already have the phone?? How does some people already have the phone?? I have Samsung Galaxy S 4g I love the phone but not liking the internal memory shortage issues. I hope G2x doesn't have the same issue.
Phone comes out in eight days from today on the twentieth ... some people have it because they either have direct access to it or know someone who does

Think online sales start on the 15th. It's in the stores on the 20th.
Not to throw a spanner in the works but this was just released. Coming soon HTC code name pyrimid or real name Sensation. link
I was all set on getting the g2x but with the not insignificant issues, I'm now not sure. I could be returning to HTC
Android 2.3 Gingerbread / New Sense UI (Like the one on the EVO 3D)
4G Capable
1.2 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snaptdragon processor
768 MB of RAM memory
4GB of internal memory / with 8GB microSD card included (microSD up to 32 MB)
4.3-inch S-LCD capacitive touchscreen / qHD resolution at 960×540
Gorilla Glass
8 MP rear-facing camera (1080p recording) / 1.2 MP front-facing camera
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, along with bluetooth 3.0
yes, saw that too but i still think i will get the LG. Do we know if the sensation bootloader is locked?
Don't know, but that is one of the reasons I'm not really worrying about it and looking at the g2x
I'm still getting the G2X. 1.2GHz? Please, we'll have a modified kernel sporting 1.2 in no time. As for the ram, it won't be too noticeable since what's actually available to the user is what matters. You can check that using Advanced Task Killer. Also, from the vids, the G2X looks quicker and smoother when opening apps and home screen transitions. That's because it's running pretty much stock. I can't wait to see how blistering fast it is when it gets GB. A couple other things to note, G2X gets two speakers and sensation only gets the same crappy one on the back, that whole "unibody" aluminum surrounding the phone is actually all on the battery cover.
Yeah I know that was harsh lol
EDIT: This is pretty funny. It's the O2X vs GS2 gaming.

Paul of modaco asked HTC and they replied that htc sensation will have a locked bootloader.
I still will prefer g2x cause i do not like sense. Sense with all of its 3d effects and unnecesary features are such big memory huggers. Anyways i can easily oc my 2x to 1200 without any side effects.
And 4.3 inch are not my type. Too big for a phone and drains more battery. 4 inch is better for me. And only 1 gb internal memory is not good

However, unlike the Tegra 2, the dual core Snapdragons can clock cores independently of each other. This will improve performance and battery life.

I'm one of the first people to say "Unused RAM is wasted RAM", and 512mb has been more than enough for most people. The big question mark is what kinds of requirements apps and the OS will have in the near future, once Ice Cream drops. Also, I hope you aren't advocating the use of task killers
Not to take anything away from the G2x, it's still a great phone, and one that I'm planning on getting if it ships with an unlocked bootloader.
Am only considering the G2X over here (US) because of the additional AT&T data bands. is still a toss-up as to whether the AT&T gets done, but I will not be getting anything on TMo over here with only their frequencies until whatever happens is final.
If I decide to keep G2X after the return period is up, my MT4G will be heading promptly to eBay. Buyers will have choice of fully rooted with CM7.0.0 or stock - rooted or unrooted - lol.
I posted this in another thread comparing the two:

Looks like a nice phone but looks like a summer release, which means Sept or Oct if I actually were to wait on it. It does look like the big brother of the N1. It has lots of nice specs too aside from Sense.
The Tmobile G2X is available online in a few days, dual core, 4" screen, HDMI out and it has stock Android. I believe the phone is unlocked and easily rooted. Looking over at the LG thread they already have custom firmwares and kernels etc. CM7 is already in the works and should be here shortly.
I've been doing a lot of research and I think I'm sold on the G2X mainly because my Nexus One has crappy download speeds on 3G and they just released 4G in my area. I've been looking at the 4G phones for some time but have been waiting for a Tegra 2 chipset.
I've been searching on the different GPU's involving the Orion SGS2 and the Snapdragon 2... and I think Nvidia is really pushing mobile games and with NVidia support will only equal it being around longer. Plus the Motorola Xoom is Google's main platform for honeycomb and it uses the Tegra 2 for GUI acceleration.
So Game and OS acceleration = Tegra 2

Here's my 2 cents/rant:
I love the 4.3" screen over the 4". However, HTC has ruined the Sensation. How? First, I do not like HTC Sense, which wouldn't be a problem if I could load whatever firmware or ROM I wanted onto the phone. However, if the Thunderbolt teaches us anything, it's that HTC is going to become more and more like Motorola--who knows if the Sensation will have an encrypted bootloader?
So for me it's the (IMO) superior screen but awful Sense versus the inferior screen but the ability to do what I want with my $500 or $600 mini computer/phone.
And might I add that Sense is even more intrusive now--have any of you seen how HTC has destroyed the pull down menu on the Thunderbolt? WTF?!
Now to continue the rant: why should I even stay with T-Mobile? AT&T is simply and utterly terrible. They ought to be sued and investigated for their false advertising of 4G speeds. I went into an AT&T store the other day to check out the Atrix. I ran speed test on the Atrix and got around 1mbps down and only 0.3 mbps up. On my Vibrant, which technically isn't even HSPA+, I got 1.5 mbps down and 1.2 mbps up consistently in the same location. So [email protected]#$ AT&T, why would I want to stick with T-Mobile only to be forced to have AT&T take over my contract? AT&T purposely cripples the upload speeds on their phones advertised as 4G. [email protected]#$ them and their awful customer satisfaction and rate plans.
My friend has it simply because he works for tmobile and he finished yhr special class/training course

The HTC Sensation will have a 4GB Rom however 1gb will be allocated to the data partition for apps, the rest will be allocated to the system, cache, recovery partitions etc.
http://www.htc.com/us/products/sensation4g-tmobile#tech-specs
Kind of like how the desire has a 512mb rom but only ~130mb for apps

No no, task killers are definitely bad unless you have a G1 like me. They are useful for telling someone how much available memory their phone has, though.

I think the discrepancy is due to the differences between the T-Mobile version and the international version. I mean, look at the specs of the Desire vs. Incredible vs. N1.
Good catch. I read an article last night that clarified the 1 GB was actual user addressable available space.

It is out now - ordered on. I have 20 days to try it and return it if not satisfied. I want to see if "8 GB storage, 512 MB RAM" is going to be a factor. I will be rooting it and installing a different ROM and moving the larger apps where possible over to the SD card.
Game on!

Wow, i would ask how u get them at that price but i dont think i wanna give away that secret
Correct me if I'm wrong as I'm not from the states but aren't all those prices that the guy listed what you pay to get those handsets up-front on a contract?
Seems rather coincidental IMO
I'm in the states and those prices in USD are cheap for devices, they are what you would pay if you had to sign contracts. But i just noticed that he posted VW (verizon wireless?) might be different, i only keep up with gsm.

I traded a Motorola Droid X for a Mytouch 4G and I never looked back.
What happened is...
I got the phones at the price of a 2 year contract ... Without the contract (from an authorized VW dealer)

[Q] Want to upgrade from Galaxy Note in the UK - Options/Analysis?

So. I'm currently running a CM10 Galaxy Note (which I only recently upgraded from CM9 and I have to say, the difference is awesome.)
I bought a Nexus 7 a little while ago, and I was thinking about waiting for a Nexus 4 to replace the Note. However, with the instant sellout of the Nexus 4 and the concerns about a few aspects (performance, throttling, durability, etc. etc.) I am considering other options. As of now, they are:
Note 2:
+ Size, Processor, RAM, Storage Capacity (already own 64gb micro sd card in current note)
- Price (will be approximately £200 to upgrade)
HTC One X
+ Size (still a decent sized screen, at least compared to Nexus 4), Processor, Price (approximately £50 to upgrade)
- Only 1 GB RAM, No external SD
Nexus 4:
+ Processor, RAM, Android Update Support, Price (approximately £100 to upgrade)
- Screen size, Questions about quality issues, lack of supply means value of Note will drop as I wait to purchase, No external SD
Galaxy S3
+ Size (bigger screen than the non-Notes), Processor, RAM, Developer Support, Storage space (SD card)
- Price (approximately £100-150 to upgrade)
What would you do? The fear is that the longer we go, the more the value of the note will drop. The values of all the others will drop, whilst the Nexus most likely won't.
All input welcomed!
Install VoIP software on the Nexus 7, e.g. CSIPSimple, and get an account with some provider. Three allow VoIP on their data SIMs.
Oh. It's wifi only. Not that this inherently a massive problem but it does limit its usefulness somewhat. But thanks for the suggestion. ^_^
And I still have a contract with my note, so this is why I am not simply signing a new contract to get one of the phones above. Should have mentioned. Sorry.

You guys have lost me completely !
I'd not go with the Note2, as there is no official CM support for the device(a deal-breaker,at least for me)
Neither the Galaxy S3 bcoz it will be old and you'll get the itch to upgrade as soon as the S4 comes out (oh, and that won't have official CM support too if it uses Exynos)
Nexus 4 - No idea, I don't care about a phone that has only 8 to 16 GB of memory no matter how good its other specs are.(Come to India and check out 3G data prices, you'll see why)
HTC 1 X - Still no memory but at least there is a 32GB option available ( although if the 64 GB card is anything to go by, it will be less for you....and me too ).But I guess you can use 4G for your data needs(I heard the carriers in UK were rolling out 4G soon).
My advice would to be wait it out with the Note and see what the next year brings to the table.Sony is releasing the Xperia Yuga and Odin models with 1080p screens.Check them out.HTC is also coming out with a 1080p phone. All of these are practically guaranteed to come with the S4 Pro so they will get official CM support.I'd go with Sony, seeing as it is XDA's top OEM of the year 2012.
Just to make it clear, I'm not a Sony fan as I've never bought a Sony phone in the past.

Migrating to LG Nexus 4 (from Galaxy Nexus) - What Should I Expect?

While Ye Olde Reliable GNex is not my daily driver any more, it's still in use (just not as a phone; instead, it's used as a tablet-alternative). I'm looking to the Nexus 4 (mako) in the same role. The why is rather obvious:
1. It is in the same price range as the GNex was (currently it's $125 on Amazon - including a Tracfone triple-punch SIM card pack for all of the Big Four carriers - something I know works from using it with my current default - the S7 that I use on Tracfone/T-Mobile's towers today - so if I NEED to move it, I can).
2. Except for Oreo, I'm familiar with the ROM choices for mako from using most of them - if not all of them - with tuna. (That is because tuna, let alone toro, does not support Oreo.) There are two differences generally - two more cores than tuna/toro (same learning curve I faced with S7 on that score) and an expected resultant performance gain for the same reason.
Any other surprises I can expect good/bad?
