well after trying the 10th time to upgrade/downgrade - I need your assistance. For the Blueangel the upgrade procedure advises in order to come to the first selection menu in WM5: "If you have a PH20B1 device such as SX66 * Quickly press Record+Windows Media before the versions appears at bottom right * OR, press Power+Softreset+Windows Media Player button+Record at the same time."
If I do so I always end up in the bootloader mode again, no way to get into: "You'll see three options; change the second and the third to "yes"" - just bootloader.
Are there other button combinations for the XDAIII - Blueangel?
thanks
Christian
another addition, I have pressed the buttons Reset, Media Player and Record for max. duration of 8 minutes, until I could not move my fingers anymore.
When I add the button ON/OFF - I end up in bootloader mode.

Yes you did. But another thing is that you may not have understood that it was what you read. Look at this quote from the Wiki upgrade part, instruction number 11:
Hardreset based on Screen Information
When you are done, remove your device from the cradle.
Press Power + Softreset, and when the colored stripes (well, this is the bootscreen )shows on the screen.
If you have a PH20B device such as MDAIII, QTEK 9090, XDAIIs, PDA2K etc.
Quickly press Record+Camera before the versions appears at bottom right
OR, press Power+Softreset+Camera+Record at the same time.
If you have a PH20B1 device such as SX66
Quickly press Record+Windows Media before the versions appears at bottom right
OR, press Power+Softreset+Windows Media Player button+Record at the same time.
Either way mentioned above should work.
You'll see three options; change the second and the third to "yes".
If you have a PH20B device such as MDAIII, QTEK 9090, XDAIIs, PDA2K etc.
You can do that with the camera and the record buttons.
If you have a PH20B1 device such as SX66
You can do that with the Windows Media Player and the record buttons.
If you are done, press the mail button, it'll show a white screen for a while, just wait.
If the bootscreen, aka. the colored stripes is displayed, Wait more, you are booting.
The welcome screen to set up your device should appear soon.

this tools does not work for me....
im using with 3 button ... its works... anyway thanks man....
I tried it, and it didn't work on my BA.
Hello,
I'm following these instructions:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_Downgrade_WM5
However, these two pages:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_Versions
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_Upgrades
Are simply returning no data to my web browser, either in Firefox or IE. So I resorted to trying to take the NBF's off this file:
ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/BlueAngel/BlueAngel_Roms/BA_1.40_radio_1.20_untested_extrom/
I also tried another cooked 1.40 rom that I still have from before I upgraded.
In both cases, the upgrade utility shows no information about the previous or to-upgrade-to version when it displays that info (all the version fields are blank), and when I click upgrade, it runs for about 15 seconds then says upgrade complete. Help! I need to get back down to 2003SE because I have software I need to use that doesn't run on WM5.
Thanks
I have the same problem ! In fact, it does not connect to the ppc. Remove it from the craddle and you'll get the same message. Idea anyboy ?
Downgrade to 1.40
Just put your pda to "boot" mode. This can be done by pressing the power button, the "soft" reset hole and the record button. Then downgrade.....
I did that... followed the wicki (the gray screen with usb and the version on the bottom).
I was having this problem as well. I solved it by downgrading to my manufacturers latest ROM 1.3... I am very relieved.
Hi
I am really desperated
I have upgraded my PDA2K to wm5 and was working ok until today that freezed on the bootable colour screen.
What should I do? Please help me
NO WORRIES at xda-developers
All you need to do is go to the (Boot options) Just reset the device, as soon as it starts quickly press Record and Camera button together before the version appears at the bottom. Use the record button to scroll up and down and camera for switching it to YES or NO. Leave the top one (Enable KITL = No) and the rest of two i-e (Clean Registry Hive) and (Format Storage) change both to YES. Then press Mail button. You will see a white screen, wait for a while, you will see a start up screen for the fresh setup If the problem still exist then put into Boot Loader (Record + Power and Reset) the device will show you Serial and USB when it is docked with the cradle. First install the W 5 again, hope this will work, if all this doesn’t works, Downgrade it to 2003 SE, Only by installing the correct ROM (available here at XDA-Developers that is without EXT ROM) cause other shipped ROMs won’t work that are provided by vendors. This will work for sure. Later you can upgrade it again with W5. And yes if you want to stick with 2003 se, just unhide the Ext Rom and simply update it with you shipped ROM provided by your device vendor. Good Luck
I'M STILL IN TROUBLE - PLEASE URGENT HELP
Thanks for your kwik reply.
I have tried all that you have porposed but still nothing.
I have tried "Just reset the device, as soon as it starts quickly press Record and Camera button together before the version appears at the bottom. Use the record button to scroll up and down and camera for switching it to YES or NO. Leave the top one (Enable KITL = No) and the rest of two i-e (Clean Registry Hive) and (Format Storage) change both to YES. Then press Mail button. I have tried to downgrade following the intructions but when should recognise the ROM comes completely in blank.
Please help.
More info please
Finally I was able to downgrade it. Will leave it like it is. Thanks for your help.
But now I have another problem. is crashing all the time, what can i do?
Prefer (HTC_Blueangel_WM5_Wizard with 1.5 Radio)
 no problem dear, just upgrade it again to W 5 Prefer (HTC_Blueangel_WM5_Wizard with 1.5 Radio) and this time make sure you stop all these services. rapimgr.exe, outlook.exe, winword.exe, wcescomm.exe, wcesmgr.exe.
(Right click on taskbar -> Task Manager. End the mentioned processes) Do Not Install Resco File Explorer cause it hangs!
Hope this time you will be more prepared to face these kind of problems.
And if you really want to stick with 2003 se, format your device with 60 kb and unhide the Ext Rom, when you see the extended Rom in (Settings -> system -> Memory -> Storage Card), then just reinstall your The Original Shipped Rom (2003 SE) that can be downloaded from the carrier.
ROM version: 5.03.02 WWE
ROM date: 03/02/05
Radio version: 1.15.00
Protocol version: 1337.45
ExtROM: 1.1.9.106
Where can I download that from?
thanks for the reply
Where can i download the HTC_Blueangel_WM5_Wizard with 1.5 Radio from?
good decision
Use the current avaialbe Wizard ROM, later upgrade Radio available at http://buzzdev.net/component/option,com_remository/func,fileinfo/id,225/. Just run MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe in Bootloader mode.

Hello I have a blueangel Ph20b2 aka Qtek9090 try an upgrade of the rom and ruling .. I was just turning on the device with serial and V2.07 I can do .. I have read by the network that has been left without the Romany and non interacts between soft and hard .. There is some system to revive .. Some software anything .. Since connect the PDA at the base i usb of the laptop does not recognize no nothing.
Eeeeehmmmm, yes, nice. But we do not understand a word. Was it google-translated or something?
If you did something wron during upgrade, just do the upgrade again. Follow the procedure step after step, do not omit even one step - try to understand what are you doing and what for.
Without more understandable information (about what were you doing and what is happening) we cannot help you.
Stupid mistake - Serial 2.07
Reading between the lines of the original post I suspect the author has done the same as me - or at least ended up with the same result. Anybody know of a fix.
Cause; I attempted to restore from backup over wifi (yes wifi - I was desperate & didnt have the cradle available).
Result; my XDA 2s went blank and now displays a screen displaying "Serial V2.07" (or "USB V2.07" when in the cradle). No amount of re-attempting to re-connect to the device works. I'v tried soft / hard resets / battery removal etc. I'm using Microsoft ActiveSync V4.5. The XDA is an O2 badged variant.
I suspect I'm looking for a boot strap load program that will repair the xda rom such that i can subsequently reload its operating system. Any positive suggestions gratefully received.
just found reference to putting xda2s into bootloader mode "soft reset button, power button and center of D-pad button together" - this still leaves the screen saying "Serial v2.07" - Am I already in bootloader mode? - if it is what do I do next?
Fixed
problem solved - I went back to the 2nd posters answer and attmpted from the begining to install Xda_IIs_Upgrade_v140242.exe, ignoring what was on the xda screen & it worked.
I now have a functioning xda - but I still have with the problem I was trying to solve in the first place.
After a the xbackup restore, the xda desktop isnt re-written cleanly, it overlays semi-transparently on top of the last program run. The desktop accepts stylus commands to run programs which open and display cleanly. How can I clean this up - I dont want to loose O/S DBs e.g. my messages etc. - I dont see a way I can port them across upgrades so I can not just stick with the Xda_IIs_Upgrade_v140242.exe
I feel if they have not understood anything written .. I do not understand Spanish and in English .. I have the problem of serial V.2.07 screen .. Where can I download a rom for qtek9090. In my pda you do a hard reset buttons with record power + + reset and still continues to do nothing with serial on the screen .. If there is any mistake in what they write what I am using the translator google
i got the same problem ...screen saying "Serial v2.07" - Am I already in bootloader mode? - if it is what do I do next?
hate to throw my phone in the garbage can
please someone help meee

The bootloader is included in the ROM that you flash onto the device so that is not the issue. You must press the two buttons and hold them until the menu appears. It may take several attempts to succeed. The R that you are referring to represents Radio and has absolutely nothing to do with anything other than GSM operations.

okay... thanks for you info, but...
if R 1.10.00 is not the version of Bootloader i got no other on screen.
I pressed the record and media button while reset and after.
I pressed the buttons similar and step by step.
I pressed the buttons after battery reconneced.
I wait after reset without pressing buttons... nothing more happens then a screen with stipes an "R 1.10.00" is displayed in right bottom.
Buttons were working fine while i used WM2003 SE on the device, so i think bottons are not the problem... but where is the bug?
I am getting crazy... ???!
Maybe i should use a other rom?
Or try to use mtty? (see above)
iso
Added:
I used mtty like discriped in http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_FAQ_STUCK_AT_STARTUP but after Reset no difference... :-(
So, in the three stripes screen you only see R 1.01.00 and no G xxxx.xx nor D x.xx.xx.xxx ?
Maybe that means that you have no OS installed. Have you tried reflashing the ROM ?
Also, which ROM and program are you using to flash ?
JP
i dont know about R G and D terminologies...
but we think "R 1.10.00" stands for your RADIO Version... not the ROM.
and since you're not showing the "G xxx.xx" and "D x.xx.xx.xxx"...
i second JP... it's a bad ROM Flashing...
try to flash back the old rom and retry the upgrade.
Used tools..
THX for helping me...
I only used the tools of "HELMI_BA_WM6_R0_Public" archiv FLASH.
GetDeviceData.exe
MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe
RUU.conf
RUU.dll
EnterBL.exe
nk.nbf -> wm6-rom
and i have installed MS-Activesync 4.5.
I flashed the original o2-rom back and it works. WM2003 SE booting.
Than i flashed the HELMI_BA_WM6 and it was completed with 100%, no errors, but then after hardreset the same screen with stripes an R 1.10.00
Any more ideas?
iso
Same for me.
Any solutions?
Maybe this is helpful for you

Guys i think i have a similar problem.
I flashed my BA many times and it worked, back and forth WM5 to WM6 and so forth, until on Fri. I had accidentaly moved files and then deleted them from the windows dir. When I flashed the then WM6 to downgrade to WM5, it worked. When I used DOC resize tool to format my storage (didn't know about th mentined method) as usual (this worked many times before) & flashed to to WM6 then it got stuck at the 4 colors.
I tried what is wrote here and I am stuck at the white screen. nothing happening. It's been like that for an hour now. If i soft reset it, and try again it's the same nothing has changed.
any ideas?
