Good evening, guys!
I have a very strange problem, I'm new to PPC scene and bought a HTC TyTN II for christmas. I flashed my ROM and I'm using Dutty's Rom... I noticed that the "green phone" hard key isn't working. I think it worked before flashing, because when I pressed the button it opened my Contacts, now nothing happens, even the light of the pad doesn't go on. Is it a hardware issue or software? I really don't want to do a hard reset, because I did it a couple of times...
No suggestions?
I did a hard reset, but the problem's still here.. it might be a hardware issue.
But how could I know? Or maybe it's the radio?
Please help me!
I've changed the radio to 1.27.12.17 but the problem's still here... I'm really confused. When somebody calls me there's no way to answer him. Very strange. Is there a button mapping program, that can change these buttons? I'll be happy if I can use the start button as the "green phone" button if there's no solution...
I dont know how to fix your button problem but as to answering phone calls, when someone calls it should say answer on the bottom left corner of your screen and you can press it to answer.

Thanks. I noticed that it's a hardware problem... when I press it very hard it works... strange. Do I need to change to the default HTC ROM if I want to give my device for fixing?
Yes. Look at the Wiki and the sticky threads. The process is detailed there.
I'm not sure why but every time I do a soft reset on my MDA Vario III, I lose all the assigned quick dials. Also, the contacts on HTC Home disappear.
Can anyone tell me why and if there is a way to either stop it from happening or at least backing them up so I don't have top keep setting them up each time?

Please read and use the search in the future. No flaming intended.
If you use the cube, u can enter them in thru there and they will not disappear after each reset. This is but one fix. There are a couple floating around.
I have a T-Mob MDA Var 3. When i make a call on battery power the backlight doesn't stay on. annoyingly, the only way to turn it on during a call is to hit the power button.
This seems silly as I might want to place someone on hold or start a conference, etc. I have set the backlight defaults not to turn off on external or battery power.
Does anyone know how how I can stop the backlight turning off during calls?
Thanks
Disable fast sleep and sleep ...
Use KaiserTweak below:

Thanks for the quick reply - i will try that!
Not another lazy noob....
I've tried Kaiser Tweak, and verified the registry settings. I've used google, the XDA Forum and the XDA Wiki. Still, my backlight/call end problem persists. My ROM is the most current version.
Can anyone help? I really like the Kaiser, but this problem makes it all but unusable.
Thanks,
brianb

Mine does this. very anoying especially when calling voicemail or an automated call system where you have to press keypad numbers. Have to keep turning the phone on to press the keypad.
Hello all,
First, you guys are great. This is my first post because I've been able to figure out just about everything by just searching and reading. So thanks to all of you!
Second, I'm going crazy trying to figure out how to assign a hard button to silent my phone (not set it to vibrate which vibra switch does wonderfully). I have AEButtons and I have found that HTC Home has the silent function I'm looking for within it, but can't find the command anywhere so I can't associate it with a button.
I have searched for a while and have only found threads concerning silencing an incoming ring but not any that say how to silence the entire phone via a hard button modification.
If anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks!
you could try using MortScript, which i assume u will find ok
Hi Everybody,
I've got a MDA Vario III bought back in Dec, didn't had any problems till now. But yesterday my MDA didnt started and when it did, I came up with problematic keys on its face !!!
The Keys for: Making Call, Ending the call, Windows Key and OK key on the face of the handsets, when pressed overrides the function of itself by the function of the key near to it !!!
For e.g. If you press Call button, it will automatically start calling the last number (which shouldn't be the case, it should just open the dial pad!) and on top of that it opens the Contact (which is the Key beside Call button). I've tried formatting the handset twice and I am no way pressing the two buttons at same time !
Please do help me to find where the problem lies and its solution. Its kinda urgent please. Thanks in Advance
Please Help Me Folks
Please Help me folks, what can I do with it to get it working properly ?
try SK Tools I always use autoclean and free-up RAM and that helps me settle this sort of problems. It actualy does the same as a soft reset.
this was the lazy version of the answer
