Resco v7.03 & slow wifi drive access

as subject, i have speed problems with resco, it download files from my pc through wifi at max 39kb/sec.
Notice that a speed test with internet explorer, retrieve very good results. Has someone the same issue?
Same here
I have the same issue... it's unbearable to transfer a file over wifi from my home PC to the phone... a problem I didn't have with my old DELL Axim x50v or my Qtek 9100...
Haven't found a solution yet, please help!
try to upgrade to v 7.05 and set wifi power to BETTER peformances
Is your wifi set to best battery or best performance as this changes speed from 120kbps for me to 320kbps.
Also how good is your signal. The diamond has a very small and weak antenna, even right next to my router I dont get anywhere near full signal strength.
How much do you understand about wifi? Basically, the weaker the signal the slower it goes. To get the full 54mbps you need to be close and in clear line of sight. As the distance increases and the signal gets weaker it slows everything down to keep the data integrity and can eventually go as slow as 1mbps.
The best you can usually expect is 34mbps real world speed.
Also, for each drywall the signal is weakened by 25% and for each brick wall it goes down by 50%. So those who expect the range to be the 100meters written on the box are often left dissapointed. Generally it will cover your house and nothing more.
Also note thats 54mbps (Mega Bits Per Second). Most seem to think its megabytes.
Solved!
All right! Switching to BEST PERFORMANCE instead of BEST BATTERY improved the transfer speed over WiFi from 30Kb/s to 250 Kb/s!!!!
Thanks to everyone who replied!
my max is 520Kb/sec (peak of 5-6 sec) with a Belkin router + ddwrt firmware.

Increase Wifi range?

is there a way to increase my wifis range? I know other people who could get better signals than me and i was wondering if it's possible to increase the range by doing curtain things.
Well there is a screen to setup the power save function for WiFi and you can set it to max performance but I don't know if that increases the signal range. From my experience, I don't get 100% signal from my own WiFi router unless the mobile is literally a few cm away from the antenna. As soon as I move to the next room the signal frops to 40% or less though still works fine for web browsing.

Very poor wifi performance

For an unknown reason my diamond performs really poorly with wifi ?
My iphone and ps3 always have a 100% signal but on my diamond im lucky to get 2 bars. Even when I have 4 its still very very slow.
Any ideas ? Dodgy wifi in the phone ?
My Diamond is set to best performance therefore that cant be the issue

What ROM do u Have?? Radio???
Latest radio ROMS are pretty good. For example, the .07 and .08 are good Radio Roms with great reception. I like .05 which save a little more battery and still i have 5 bars no matter were i am

Hi, the radio .18 are good? improve wifi?
I have the same problem...thanks
Have you tried to set the power setting of your Wifi to "best performance" (away from "battery saving mode")? that should help, i guess.
Hi
I have the ROM that comes with the Orange Uk fones.
I believe its the 1.137.405.1 WWE ROM
and
1.00.25.03 Radio version
I have no trouble with signal strength with my diamond, but when I go into the properties for wireless while I am connected to my Linksys 54g Access Point, the Diamond shows me as having a 54mbps transmit rate and only a 1mbps receive rate.
This happens even if I am standing beside the access point. I could careless about how fast I send data, I want to be able to play movies via the wireless from my mediacenter box. But obviously with 1mbps it stops and starts all the time while it buffers the data.
Should I have 54 on both send and receive assuming signal is good. Is there anything in the Router that could cause this, I haven't noticed any issues with my 2 laptops.
Is there any software that can show me what the send receive rates individually are in Vista, so I can compare ?
*BUMP*
Does anyone have an answer/tweak to this? I'm also suffering from this issue.
TIA
Angus

Reception Problem

Hi, I have a kaiser that has been dropped and there is really weak to no signal reception whatsoever and also the wifi reception is weak as well. What do you think is wrong with it? Is it the internal antenna?? Also I have the service manual, but I was wondering what the reciever was? Was it for the gps or wifi or phone reception? Please help and thank you.

If you know anything about electronics, there are some disassmbly pictures here and here. You might be able to see something loose of disconnected.
Thanks
Dave

Are you happy with WIFI reception?

Today I try register TD2 on my university's WIFI system.
The authentication of this system IEEE 802.1x so I need to type ID and password for log-in.
When I used P3600 (trinity,wm5), Registry was okay and I can use in its coverage well.
However TD2 has trouble, when I loged in the wireless system, it suddenly disconnected during type ID or Password. (I solved it by ID copy & Paste) Also, I feel it does not catch WIFI signal well.
After then, I try test two device in my home.
My home has BT Broadband hub1 and I compared Signal Quality graph.
At the weakest aerial area, I cannot see any graph on TD2 but P3600 shows short green graph. By the way, TD2 catch the signal earlier than P3600.
Ok... This situation might be understand but when I put two mobiles in front of Hub (Wireless modem), I found slightly strange result.
The graph of P3600 is full-filled as expected but the graph of TD2 isn't. I think the graph of TD2 is reached almost 80%.
I wish it should be covered by Rom update but if this situation suffered just my device, I concern MY 2nd TD2 has problem. (Of course, I believe I over-worried)
How do you feel the WIFI reception of your Touch Diamond 2?
(P.S.) Sorry, my English is not fluent.
I received my D2 today and have been playing with it by having it connected to my home wifi network. The reception seems fine but occasionally I do see it resync. Suppose it could be better but it hasn't failed on me, so I'm happy neither the less.
EDIT: I had further play with wifi and yes I agree the reception is poor
I'm not saying this is an answer but have you played with the wifi strength slider? The one that is for better wifi or better battery. It's still there under the bonnet.

The condition of test was same condition as possible.
Strength Slider is same 'Best for Battery' and P3600 graph is better than Touch Diamond2.

Yeah gave that a go little to no difference mate.
I've got my TD2 since 5 days, and while I am very please with it overall, I agree the wifi reception is poor...
The signal strength is much lower and I loose connection much faster than a laptop...which is probably normal, but reception is also poorer compared to my "old" acer n311 PDA, which is about 2-3 year old...
Reception seems to improve when antenna is not covered by your hand, but unfortunately, as the antena is at the bottom of the TD2, near the mini-USB connector, your hand is almost always over it when you hold the device in one hand....
I have also observed the "never-perfect reception" phenomenon, I can go 1m from my wifi router and be at 80% signal strength only...I would have maxed out signal quality of my laptop much much earlier than that of course...
I hope it will get better, maybe with a radio update, but I fear this is purely hardware driven, so I will just to have to live with it. Too bad, as I typically use my phone/PDA in "wardriving/warwalking" situation, trying to pick the occasional free wifi to download emails and browse during hollidays. I usually have a laptop in situation where I have a secured wifi acces with clean signal...and at home/work, nothing beat a wired gigabit workstation LOL...
Personally, I haven't had any issues with WIFI on my TD2. I have the wifi battery slider set in the middle and I connect first time, everytime to the router at home and at work.
