Please note, this is a TEST ROM and may not work.
I do not have a G4 version Wizard to test on, so some brave soul with the hardware in question is going to have to give it a try. Be aware, while I have double checked everything and this should work, FLASHING THIS ROM MAY BRICK YOUR DEVICE.
Once this is confirmed working on a G4 version Wizard, I'll update this post.
The contents of this ROM are functionally the same as the standard Mr. Clean ROM. For more information on Mr. Clean please read the original Mr. Clean thread:

Mr. Clean AKU 2.3 ROM v2.24.0001a for HTC Wizard (G4 version)
-------------------------------------------------------------
The ROM of choice for tinkerers and hobbyists is back, and this time the big baldy is ready to take on the G4 variant of the HTC Wizard. Because this ROM is designed specifically for Wizard units with the G4 flash chip it WILL NOT WORK on the original Wizard. If you have an original Wizard, you must use the 2.24a version of Mr. Clean.
---------------
WHAT DO I NEED?
---------------
-A CID Unlocked HTC Wizard with a G4 Flash Chip
-Windows PC with a USB port
-ActiveSync 4.0 or higher installed
-MrClean_RUU_WIZARD_2240001a_AKU23_WWE.zip
-------------------------------------------------------
HOW CAN I TELL IF I HAVE A G3 or G4 VERSION FLASH CHIP?
-------------------------------------------------------
There is an easy way to tell which version flash chip you have in your Wizard.
Simply look at your boot screen and check the IPL/SPL version.
2.xx = G3 Flash Chip
2.xx.0001 = G4 Flash Chip
-----------------------------
WHAT DOES CID UNLOCKING MEAN?
-----------------------------
A CID lock normally prevents you from using any ROM aside from an official ROM provided by your carrier/OEM. Trying to upgrade a CID locked device with an unofficial ROM can damage your Wizard. DO NOT try to upgrade your Wizard if you have not CID unlocked it.
If you wish to search for a free solution, please check the forums on http://xda-developers.com. Be aware however, that free solutions are only available for certain ROM versions. As of this writing there are no known free solutions for the G4 series Wizard, but this may change in the future.
A viable alternative to waiting for a free solution is to visit http://imei-check.co.uk. This company charges 20 British Pounds (approx 40 US Dollars) to perform a SIM and CID unlock on your Wizard. It claims to handle all versions of the Wizard hardware, so if you have a G4 version, this may be your only option. It is generally accepted as the place to go for SIM and CID unlocks.
*Note - I have NO affiliation with IMEI-Check. I am simply including the information as a service to the reader.
---------------------------------
HOW DO I FLASH THE Mr. Clean ROM?
---------------------------------
1) Unzip MrClean_RUU_WIZARD_2240001a_AKU23_WWE.zip to a folder on your hard drive.
2) Make sure your Wizard has at least a 50 percent charge on the battery.
3) Connect your Wizard to the PC via the USB cable.
4) Run the program ROMUpdateUtility_Wizard_NoID.exe in the ROM folder.
5) Follow the prompts to update your Wizard.
6) When you get to the UPDATE screen the version listed should be 2.24.0001a_MRC. If not STOP NOW. You have the wrong ROM.
7) Once you start the upgrade, your Wizard will reset to a rainbow colored screen. This is normal.
8) The Wizard then switches to a blank screen with a progress bar. It may pause for a few minutes at 98%. This is normal.
9) Once the update has completed, the Wizard will reset and present you with the initial configuration.
10) Calibrate the touch screen and let the customization option complete.
11) After the customization completes, the Wizard will reboot a final time and the upgrade is finished.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
WHAT IF I HAVE A WIZARD (G3 VERSION) AND WANT TO INSTALL MR. CLEAN?
-------------------------------------------------------------------
If you have a G3 version Wizard, then you need the file MrClean_RUU_WIZARD_224a_AKU23_WWE.zip.
When i reached step 6 of "How to Flash" i get this:

Maybe there's something incompatible with the noid version of the uploader that is refusing to let us upgrade?
allo gamescan;
correct if im wrong:
but if u try to install this rom into a g3 wizard a dont see how it could brick it.
because the rom checks the machine chip before flashing as the official roms that include the 2 versions.
so if u flash this rom into a g3 the only thing that not gets updated its the bootloader.....as it would not be compatible.
are you using the g3 update utilitys in the g4 roms?
because it coud be potencialy fatal.
as the haked update utilitys that we can find were made from roms prior to g4.
for the testers;
unless this rom has a 2.5 or above haked update utility u need to have the device cid unlocked because it will be no way u will be able to install it.

faria: my device is fully CID unlocked with the imei-check solution, as I can flash the 2.x versions of the imate and tmobile USA roms on my tmobile UK device.

Do you still have the T-Mobile 2.24 BETA ROM that I had you download the other day? If so, I'd love for you to try a few things.
First, upzip the T-Mobile ROM and the Mr. Clean ROM to two separate folders.
Now, make a new folder and *copy* the Mr. Clean ROM installer files to the new folder.
After than, copy the RUUGetInfo.exe from the T-Mobile folder and overwrite the one in the new folder. Click on the RUU Wizard (NoID) and try to run the upgrade.
If that fails, I want you to copy the RUUGetInfo.exe from the Mr. Clean folder and overwrite the one in the new folder. Now, copy the RUU Wizard from the T-Mobile folder into the new folder. Click on the RUU Wizard (DO NOT click on the NoID version) and try to run the upgrade.
If that fails, I want you to once again copy the RUUGetInfo.exe from the T-Mobile folder into the new folder. Click on the RUU Wizard (DO NOT click on the NoID version) and try to run the upgrade.
What were're trying to do here is track down where the version info is getting conflicted. I suspect it is because the hacked RUUGetInfo.exe is setup to always report a low version of the ROM so that the upgrade utility will allow downgrading. However, if the upgrade utility sees a G3 ROM on the device (which it always will with the hacked RUUGetInfo) it'll freak when you try to flash a G4 ROM to the Wizard. At least, that's what I'm going with right now. By swapping out a "normal" RUUGetInfo, I'm hoping that the upgrade utility will be happy because it will see a G4 ROM on the device and know that it is flashing a G4 ROM. The only "catch" that I foresee with this is that because it will be able to read the true value of the ROM, downgrading to earlier IPL/SPL versions will not be possible.

Yes. If someone manages to flash this to a G3 based device IT WILL BRICK. The software should prevent the flashing, but if you manage to override the safety check and force the flash, IT WILL BRICK.
It is foolish to the extreme for someone to try to flash this file to a G3 version Wizard.
As I mentioned earlier, I don't believe the flashing utility is the issue, I believe it is in what the RUUGetInfo utility is reporting to the flashing utility since the hacked version of the RUUGetInfo utility reports a fixed version number all the time.
Hopefully with Sporkguy's testing, we'll be able to successfully package a ROM that can be used by owners of CID unlocked G4 version Wizards. Of course, once the specifics are known, then that will also make it easier for others to package up custom ROMs for the G4 version Wizards as well.
thanks for the reply gamescan.
lets crack this....
it is my belive that there is an eazyest way ....
as far as i know the only diference betwin the g3 and g4 devices is the bootloader ipl/spl ,so we can take any rom and remove the ipl/spl ,therefore the rom would be OS+EXTENDED-ROM+RADIO+SPLASH AND HTC LOGO, and so we would be able to install this rom in any chipset version because we would not touch the bootloader and then we would have 1 rom for all ,and avoid confusion ,specialy to newbies.
the proof of this[as you know] is in the newest official roms ,after we take it apart it contains 2 ipl and 2 spls ,so that tells us that apart from the ipl/spl there is nothing diferent about the roms, since the official rom install in in the g3 and g4 chipsets.
forgive me if im wrong.
If you check the prior thread, you will see that did not work. A flash of GSM + Splash + Ext ROM failed with the same error 300.
The only way anything is going to get solved is with testing and careful deduction. Random guessing or untested assumptions will only confuse things.

a just flashed the latest 2.24 rom taken from an official rom that contains the 2 ipl/spls into a g3 wizard without probems[without the ipl/spl].so its not an random guess or untested assumptions. he got the error 300 because the wizard its locked.
i will be posting the rom soon ,i just nedd to finish integrating NETCFv2 into it .this should also work with cid unlocked g4,
godbye.
I'll try the above shortly - i'm just waiting on getting a copy of Sprite backup so I can come back again. (I'm getting tired of reloading all my stuff back onto the device every other day!)
Will let u know how it goes!

Ok, so i've never flashed my device bofore, and i'm dumb and i overlooked the first step of checking to see if i had a 3g or 4g.
I downloaded the program, and updated the rom. It installed, and it loaded up, i saw the pretty MR clean bootscreen (at which point i realized how dumb i was but i looked at the version in the loading screen, and i did say it was 4g, but this was AFTER the flashing of the rom, so i donno if that was just changed cause of hte flashing), and then it started installing the customizations. Then, my mind rests and i chat away for a bit with my friend on aim, and i glance over my phone. Its off, hmm i guess it had to restart, ok lets turn the baby on! umm why aren't you turning on? Huh? Before looking into it being a more serious problem, do you by chance know what your battery charge was before starting this escapade?
The phone won't charge via USB when it's in bootloader or flash mode, and flashing has a decent current draw, so...could it have hit empty?
heh, it does say several times, in this very thread, that this rom is experimental and intended for G4 chips ONLY.
Hell, we've even been discussing why it doesnt work on my G4 device yet, and you still tried it? Brave, man, brave
I'd Probably try flashing it again by putting it into bootloader mode (take out battery, put back in again and press and hold the camera button whilst plugging in USB) - and sticking an older official rom on there.
Best of luck lol
Yeah i don't think brave is the word, dumb and impatient sounds better i think.
Well i don't think its the battery cause it did load, and I calibrated the screen and everything, and then it started installed the customizations, and then it went blank, so it did have a chance to start charging again.
I did only have a 60% charge though, i'm gonna try to sawp a battery a guy at work who's got a similar phone (its not the same, i hope htc uses the same batteries for its models)
At this point, NOTHING WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No buttons, not plugging in pressing the reset buttons, nada, nothing , zip just a blank dead piece of plastic. I took ou tthe battery countless times, ahh i'm lost
I broke my pretty thing

Exactly the same thing happened to mine at exactly the same stage (customizations), my battery was at 100% before flashing and have tried another battery too. It was totally dead, no flashing LED's even when left on charge, couldnt get into the bootloader by holding the camera button and plugging in the USB cable either. Luckily it was swapped over for a new one within a few days....
Oh mine was on the other rom the ""Mr. Clean" AKU 2.3 ROM" but the same result.... so put very bluntly, you are buggered

I have never flashed this phone with any kind of alternate firmware, yet when I go to run the official one from HTC, I get this at 8-% exactly, on 2 diffrent phones:
_______________________________________________________________

Then the phone turns into a brick. All it does is show the Tri-Color test looking screen untill try to flash again...
Any suggestions?

If you are attempting to flash the official ROM on an 8125 and getting this error, there's some bad juju goin on.
Just to be sure, you got the following ROM, correct?
http://www.htcamerica.net/support/software_downloads_8125.htm
I’ve downloaded that so many times my browser is upset at me. There must be a lot of bad JuJu... because It has tanked 2 different phones.....
I’ve taken your 2.3 update, and ran it... It went though... got to 98 and turned red on the phone... finally went to 100% and rebooted... but it was still at 1.8... but at least the phone works again... I really need the push e-mail though... and would prefer to use the official update... or a close derivative..
You should CID unlock first before you apply any ROM found in this forum.
If your phone is virgin, i.e. never been updated to a non official ROM, you will be fine going from 1.8 to this ROM and you would not need to CID unlock. I have gotten an nbf error before, but it was from an attempted downgrade to the stock 1.8 ROM from Summiter's 2.17 release.
Check your OS version and report back.
I know it says you have never upgraded before... If you're still having problems, just take it back to the store, we bricked a phone stuck on the 2.17 ROM and returned it with no problems. Apparently the 8125 does not like animated themes (not my idea, but it did have entertainment value).
Could there be something up with my PC if it bricked 2 seperate phones? WOuld it be possible to fix em with a diffrent PC? and do you think a Cingular store would update the firmware on the phone if it wasnt broken already?

There's always the possibility of a virus causing issues, but it's exceedingly remote.
If the phone is working you should be able to bring it into any Cingular store and have them do the update for you.

I concur with gamescan that it might be a virus, or some crappy spyware. I don't think however that you've "bricked" your phones as you WERE able to install sumitter's 2.23 OK. Of course since you didn't SID unlock you didn't get the full upgrade. I disagree with those who insist that you don't need to unlock. Mayhaps you don't need to but I know that sumitter and the other ROM gawds here have always suggested so. If I was you I'd downgrade to the 1.05, unlock, then upgrade. I'd also scan your PC with Spybot, maybe AdAware. Also I'd delete my temp files, in the c:\documents and settings\%username%\local settings\Temp. Also empty your temporary internet files. I've seen large temp folders on PC's create all kinds of grief. Just a suggestion.

Well... I appriciate all your help thus far.
I called Cingular Yesterday ant they sent out 2 replacement phones for free, and I got them today... With the update already in place, so I dont think I'll be playing with unlocking again LOL... But this information is very helpful, as my Uncle has the same phone and needs the push email more than I do. If his phone gets toasted, Ill be here with the results...
Thank you all very much... this is my new favorite place!!!
Not A virus .... its the phone
Apparantly the newer phones have a new flash chipset G4 which is not compatable with the current crop of cooked roms on this site. I think summiter has one that will work but it didn't work for me. I returned my phone for a replacement hoping to get the g3 chipset but to no avail all the new ones are G4 and are unable to be flashed to the custom roms. also you should be able to sim unlock with no issues but to cid unlock you may need to look elsewhere

First, the OP was using the OFFICIAL CINGULAR UPDATE not a custom Rom.
Second, He was upgrading from 1.8 which is a 1.x Rom, this means his phone is indeed a G3 variant as the 1.x Roms only have G3 IPL/SPL.
I had this same experience from a virgin HTC 8125....
I had stop all apps running and recharge my battery. Then disable my sleep and screensaver then it worked.
I recently attempted to update the ROM in my Cingular 8125. The process stopped at 95% and I received an "Internal Error". Now, when I turn on the phone, it gets as far as the color RUU screen, and nothing else.
How can I find out if I can repair this situation myself or if I need to take it back to Cingular.
Hopefully you'll give Cingular a little more info regarding this than you gave us.
My psychic advisor is STILL on vacation so I can be of very little help to you, sorry!
What ROM were you running before and what ROM were you trying to flash it with? Did you CID unlock before you flashed?
Sorry - When I posted the 1st message, I was in a hurry...
I am not sure what ROM version was on the device before I attempted to update (I know, I should have paid attention, but I was not). The phone was new from Cingular and I had not done anything else to it besides load a couple of apps (Skype & Agile).
I attempted to run the file RUU_Wizard_225111_22511102_022511_CWS_WWE_Ship.exe that I downloaded from the HTC site. The update go to 95% and I received the error "ERROR [326]: INVALID COMMAND" - This NBF file cannot be used for your PDA Phone. Please check your NBF file." (I have attached a screenshot of the error to this post).
I am not sure what to do at this point.
Thanks,
Chris
Some folks at the Cingular forum are having the same issue with no solution offered.
I'd suggest putting the device into bootloader mode (Holding Record and Camera buttons while soft reseting) and then reflashing. Make sure not to launch any programs while flashing. I also don't touch the device at all as I've noticed the USB connection might slightly disconnect.
Good luck and let us know what happens.
I just tried reloading from the bootloader screen - no luck. Exact same error at 95%. Would it work to try to reload an original earlier ROM? If so, how would I go about trying that?
Chris
I had this same problem.....I went to the cingular site after having the problem. Before installing I stopped all applications then soft reset.
THen after it boots up install the file from cingular. It worked from their site. Not sure what changed but I am not having any problems now with the new ROM.

I have re-downloaded the ROM file from the Cingular site (actually it just redirects to the HTC site). Same problem. I cannot get to the point to even shut down any programs because the phone OS does not even load at this point. When I do a soft reset, I get the following (sorry for the blurry image - as you can see my good phone with the good camera is dead...)
I had a similar problem. I posted the fix on another thread and ppl said i was wrong, this wasnt it...but heres what worked for me.
Are you using a usb port on the front of the computer? if so, try pluggin into the ports on the back of your computer. I tried flashing the official rom from cingular a few times using front port and it stopped at the exact same % each time. got the same thing as you, colored bars.
Someone had mentioned to me that front usb ports don't work as well as back ones. give it a try. good luck
from the picture, it looks you have the G4 chip(u can see 2.25 0001)
Thanks to everyone for their input. From the suggestions above, I have tried various USB ports on my laptop and I always get to the same point. I have also called HTC tech support and they are pretty sure I have bricked my phone. I talked to Cingular and they have agreed to replace it. I have also researched the G4 chip issues (looked at the post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=56408).
Now I have the following question - When I get my new phone (which I will assume will have the G4 chip as well), the Cingular rep told me that it will already have the latest 2.25.0001 ROM on it. What are my options at that point to SIM unlock my phone. Will I be able to? From the post I referenced above, it sounds like I may not be able to with the G4 chip.

I second this observation!
This makes a major difference on wether or not you can even upgrade.
Search for G4 issues.
The .0001 in the IPS/SPL number will tell you which one you have.
The way I understand it is:
2.25 - G3
2.25.0001 - G4
I think this is the proper way to identify it.

Chris, LokiwizMSL ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=50768 ) can SIM Unlock your device. Be sure to read the instructions.
Well - Now I have a new problem. So far, Cingular is refusing to replace my phone - saying that the ROM upgrade voided the warantee. I am still fighting that, but just in case I loose, is there any way to get my phone fixed once it has been "bricked"?

If you installed an unofficial ROM then they are correct. You should never admit that you used a ROM that was not provided by HTC.
There are warnings all over this site about VOIDing your warranty.
Since you used the Official Update they are wrong.

"Error [326]: INVALID COMMAND This NBF file cannot be used for your PDA Phone. Please check your NBF file."
When I reset the phone I get the RGB bootloader screen and nothing else.
My phone is a G4 and was running ROM version 2.25.11.1 WWE before. The reason I tried to apply this ROM is because there was apparently no Extended ROM. None of the customization cabs executed on a hard reset. Also, in Device Information, there was no "ExtROM" listed.
This is the second phone that this has happened on. I thought the first time was just a fluke thing and I had a bad phone. But now I think there is an issue with this ROM.
Anyone have any idea what is going on here with this ROM? Does the fact that there was no Extended ROM have anything to do with this ROM not flashing properly?
Is there anything else to try or do I need to try to return the phone (AGAIN)?
how to fix the problem
read this thread carefully. The upgrade problem seems to be occuring on G4 chipped Wizards with the most current IPL/SPL.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=56088
take the official update. run it, when it finishes extracting look for the extracted NBF file in your
C:\Documents and Settings\yourusernamehere\Local Settings\Temp\the newest directory just made
find the NK.NBF file
extract it using the tutorial in the post above you will be flashing with the official cingular components sans IPL/SPL.
flash it and your are back up and running
I would have posted this earlier but i had to make sure it worked and was repeatable.
I think the problem with the new update is the new IPL/SPL version checking. It seems that if the patcher sees the same version already running it will give you that error at 95%. I've seen it on 3 phones already and I have been able to fix them by doing what i've told you above. You are already in bootloader mode and your phone is ready to accept a new rom anyways. My solution may not be the best for your phone and take no responsibilites but you are already desperate and need a fix. Good Luck!
Thanks for the reply, evilito. Since I hadn't gotten any replies for a few days, I decided to go ahead and try to exchange the phone at the Cingular store. They were baffled that this was the second phone I had returned for the exact same problem, but gave me a new phone anyway. I wish now that I had waited so that I could try evilito's solution to see if it works. As it is now, I am too scared to try any flashing on this new phone after my results with the first two. I would really hate to have to try to return a third phone
Can anyone else verify that there is a problem with the latest Cingular ROM when flashing a G4? Or did I really have two bad phones?
slapper said:
Now I have the following question - When I get my new phone (which I will assume will have the G4 chip as well), the Cingular rep told me that it will already have the latest 2.25.0001 ROM on it. What are my options at that point to SIM unlock my phone. Will I be able to? From the post I referenced above, it sounds like I may not be able to with the G4 chip.

Thats good to know, I thought that when we unlocked it and updated the ROM we lost Warentee Support. Where can you get the official Cingular 2.25 ROM. I am still on 2.17.
Hi, After the soft reset comand, I removed the battery from my Wizard. After that the followin problem was appear: the phone is bringing up to the splash screen and STOP on this position.I have tried to download another Rom but the problem still is the same. My Phone is not CID unlock and before this, I cooked own rom like is writen here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=271043 . So any idea how to wake-up my phone MDA Vario.
Ok forgive me if I'm wrong here, I don't really want to judge before I know the full story, but seems to me your brain went on strike momentarily. First rule of flashing any unofficial rom CID UNLOCK YOUR DEVICE. Anyways sorry, I just wanted to say something so it doesn't happen to you again, that said, what rom did you try to upgrade to? what rom did you try to downgrade to after that? is your device a G3 or G4?
If your device is a G3 I would recommend downgrading to this rom by xelecin
ftp://xda:[email protected]_RUU_Wizard_1081002_108_10910_ENG_US.exe
it will ask you if you want to CID unlock your device at the start so you shouldn't need to worry about forgetting this time , if you can't connect your device to activesync just go into the bootloader (hold the camera, voice dial buttons while pressing the reset button) and once it connects run the set-up.
Oh another thing before I forget..... do some searching and read up a bit, because this is a pretty common topic on this forum, best of luck and hope everything works out ok. If not, report back.
*edit* I just noticed the thread that you linked to, I actually wasn't aware that this was possible, but anyways I think it's still much safer to CID unlock your device if possible, and another thing you might try replying in that thread if it doesn't work out since they should be more knowledgeable in the matter..... and that would help keep the forums less cluttered *edit*
Thanks, for your help, Unfortunately you are totaly right for my stupid act (again). At first i tried to solve the problem alone , but whole day I roam through this forum to find solution but I can't find the same problem like my. Maybe because of my ..... brain .Anyway I am with G3. NOW I have
IPL 1.0
SPL 2.26
GSM 01.09.11
OS 1.5.4.2
This is after this procedure http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=263116
I tried also to download also and Molski's 2.26.10.2 AKU2.3 Rom a.k.a. 2.26.10.2 Final Edition Rom, but the problem is the same : The splash screen is running and STOP and.... nothing.
I can go to bootloader and can download new rom, but I can't start fhe phone.
Yeah I know these forums aren't the easiest in which to look for info. So you can go into the bootloader, that's good. Don't try to go to a AKU2.x rom or later, keep it under that, so no 2.26 roms at all. 105, or 108 roms should be good.
Did you try the rom from the link I provided or the one on the thread? and afterwards did it go into the phone at all? My friends MDA had a similar problem last week, caused by the same thing, though in your case I see the SPL isn't updating when you install new roms on his it was the os that wasn't updating, but as soon as I installed that rom I recommended it booted up fine, then I updated his device to molski's 2.3.
I'll check back in a few so let me know how's it going.

Ok, but tell me how to solve this :
"qiote"
8. Open ActiveSync, Explore and copy enablerapi.cab from your PC's C:\ (remember that's where you extracted lokiwiz to...) to you device, I don't care where.
9. Pick up your PDA, File Explorer, find the enablerapi.cab and click it.
"quote"
I don't have access to the phone explorer and phone at all.
masr1979 I have tried the rom you give me, but it look like there is some things I don't understand: When I start the exe file i have choice <continue> .Whet I type <c> 2(two) time the soft tell me <no device found> and order me to continue with copy ???. After few seconds tell me that Unlocker ..... Done!, and start HTC wizard Unlocker and NOTHING !!! Stop on this position more then 15 min. and only the led for charging on the phone is active.
Forget all about unlocking. Until you can boot the device completely it'll never work.
Try and install an official 2.x ROM on your device.
My suspicion is that you originally has a G4 device, which is bad because if you DID have a G4 you have a brick now...
Can you remember your phones old ipl/spl? for your sake I hope it wasn't something in this format 2.XX.000X.

Of course I'm not sure, but I thing it was 2.21. Anyway did you think that is posible to cook my own rom in G4? I'm totally confused.
Every time when I upload new rom I have this:

Thanks, but I try to find oficial rom but without success. And very interesting thing I found.. when I start to upload new rom the soft start to check my old rom and after that tell me that i have GE (german) language, but my old was WWE ?
Is it posible some one to give me some link to official 2.x ROM but for T-mobile german language.
Well the other day I tried finding that german rom for a while.... that search was going nowhere, I saw this thread, I don't know if you might want to check into it and maybe try it out. There's mixed results apparently but who knows

Aloha everyone,
I have tried to not post for about 3 weeks but I just can't move forward. I have read and tried to follow everything on the site but I am just confused. I know this is a developers site and I am very intimiated to be castigated by you guys but...it's the internet so what the hell.
I have found numberous instruction threads pertaining to updating ROMS on the Wizard. It seems that up until recently there was only one way to do things but now there are many. As I try to answer questions I come into conflict over which way I shoudl be heading.
I currently have a working WIZ100 that boots with IPL 2.21.0001 SPL 2.21.0lip with GSM 2.25.11 and OS 2.25.11.1. I somehow got to this point, I think by following the instructions to get hardSPL on my device and booting on startup. I did not know if I next needed to find a ROM and if so then how to get that ROM activated on my device or what programs to do this with. I know that the threads spell it out but the threads pertain only to direct assumptions; the assumption that my head is not in my ass.
I wanted to attempt to put a new rom on here, for fun and to play around with something new. Perhaps increase reliability or to get WM6 going. I am stuck now though. Part of me wants to turn back and load the original ROM from the HTC site and the other part of me wants to try a new ROM as I already have this thing booting to the 0lip SPL.
Is anyone out there willing to help me either via this thread, personal message or IM?
Since you have already installed Hard SPL you should be safe to go ahead and pick virtually any ROM you choose on there. I don't have a lot of experience with Hard SPL yet, except for installing it on my kaiser, but the one thing I would guess that you should make sure that the ROM you want to flash doesn't have would be an IPL/SPL update included. As far as I know, I don't think any of the public ones that you find on here have them but make sure you read the chef of the ROM's entire post to make sure. And, if you magically happen to find my ROM somewhere, which you shouldn't since I only gave it to 2 people to try, don't flash it because mine does include an IPL/SPL update.
From my best understanding you have already loaded HardSPL and now are CID unlocked. If this is the case then I would recommend going forward and flashing a new rom to your device. Just go to the Wizard Mobile 6 thread and find one you like, and flash it.
Simple as that.
I appreciate your replies.
1) I am clarified like butter! What program do I download and use to flash the ROM to the Wiz, this has been a source of confusion for me.
2) If I download and install the HTC Cingular ROM from HTC, will that overwrite the HardSPL and return my phone to Factory Default, including the radio areas? In other words do I rid myself of 2.21.0lip?
Thanks for not beating my head in...very polite you devs are...
I like beating people's heads in, and you are far too polite, that I am actually having a very slight guilty twinge! Damn you. I have a G3 myself so I cannot help much, however, I found this sticky which may help.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=332320
I do know that once you choose your rom, you open the folder and run the item marked as ruu.
Now if you only had a G3, then I could fry you like the noob you are.
I suppose at some point, I should make a point of reading/learning about G4's. I know they are a far different animal from my G3.
That's the reason I said not to flash a ROM that contained an IPL/SPL upgrade since there is the possibility that it may overwrite Hard SPL, although I'm not positive of that, but better safe than sorry especially if it it's not an official ROM that carries the correct IPL/SPL format for a G4. If it doesn't contain the correct format for a G4 it could ruin your phone. If you flash an official ROM though and it overwrites it you can always just reinstall Hard SPL again and keep flashing. I hope this makes sense.
As for the files you need to flash a new ROM, they're usually included with the ROM. If they're not then just let me know and I'll upload them for you.
Good that you asked before damaging your (expensive) device...
Every Flash version comes with a RUU (Rom Update Utility) you just run that proggy and it does the rest.
To make it easier, look for a rom that states it's G4 safe (no IPL/SPL included), so you don't have to mess around with the inner files. If you want to, begin your tests with the TNT series, the latest build, stated in my sig is G4 safe, after that you'll be able to know the initial procedure.
Good Luck.
Thanks for the info.
Do I execute the ruu from Windows XP or from the SD card ont he device?
Why am I have a hard time searching for and finding TNT 5.2.1921 TouchFlo ROM?
The rom update utlity gives me an error when I try to update. Should I try to do all this from the sd card?
Well, I am plugging along. I rebooted after an error 300 came up on the rom utility. Any suggestions for me?
I found this thread, back in business, thanks for your help guys.
I guess my only unanswered question is...if I use the HTC ATT exe from htc.com will it kill the hardSPL and restore the computer back to normal?
If you have ROM on your desktop, Connect your phone to your computer via USB, open up Activesync, uncheck the check box in settings that allows USB connections. Make sure you have at least 50% battery, then put your phone into bootloader mode. (soft reset while holding down the camera button- keep holding the button for 5 sec.) a tri-color RGB screen should come up. This is boot loader mode. Then run the rom update utility program, and everything is automatic from there on. once it is done flashing the phone will restart itself.

Try it and find out. I'd kind of like to know the answer to that one too, although my phones a G3 and already CID unlocked anyway. You can always reinstall Hard SPL over again if it does.
So this worked out well for me overall. Installing HardSPL to my G4, and then using a correct bootloader with the right ROM (to review).
I am having one issue.
I have the OEM ROM, however the RUU gives me an error. Is there a documented way to restore the phone to an original status? Is it even necessary?
I ask due to problems since my upgrade to the TNT rom. I am noticing a lot of missed calls and people have complained. Is this an issue with the 8125 and the particular ROM?
I don't know what to ask, or how to search for this. Thanks for any input you can offer.
Otherwise the TNT rom is awesome. I do miss the voice dialing though. Thats another search.
Actually, that's usually an issue with your radio version. Try using either version 2.19 or farias 2.69 and see if that fixes your problem. You should be able to find both of them in the wiki and you may want to try both of them and see which one gives you the better reception because sometime one will work much better than the other for you depending on your location.
By the way, you don't have to be CID unlocked or have hardspl installed to update your radio so you shouldn't have an issue with the RUU giving you an error. If you do, let me know and I'll upload a different RUU for you to try.

So the Rom is broken up into major parts. Those parts must ineract with one another, so that would be why my radio version may be at cause?
Yep. The ROM can contain the IPL, SPL, OS, Splash Screens, GSM (the radio), and extended ROM, any of which can be changed or upgraded individually without affecting the other parts of the ROM (for all intents and purposes anyway). That means you can change your radio version without it deleting all of your settings or your installed apps in your OS, etc etc.
Since you still upgrade each individual part using a RUU that is able to update any of the parts you still get a warning when you run it that it will delete all of your files, but as long as the update that you're running doesn't include a new OS you can ignore those warnings.
I decided to back out of the entire upgrade and move back to WM5 Official Cingular HTC ROM. I am stoked that I now know the full process of taking a G4 through hardSPL, ROM updates and restoral.
I was too scared to try any radio updates or fixes. Maybe when I upgrade phones I will come back to playing with the 8125 but for now, I just need a good functioning phone for work.
Do these Cingular radio fix cabs apply to a standard phone or only to upgraded ones?
ok, im inbetween a newb and a full out destructive force to any type of moddable device and im having a little bit of trouble with my cingular 8125. ive had this phone for a few months and i am having the hardest time dealing with the rom on the phone now. ill give a quick breifing on it:
got it with original cingular rom, not sure what spl or ipl on it but the first thing i did was unlock it by myself, cid and sim unlocked, and then updated to a jaguar wm 6.1 rom which worked fine. decided i was going to unfortunately sell this phone so i decided to upgrade it one more time to see if i really wanted to sell it, i then bought the upgrade to go past my 2.21 ipl and spl. i got my unlocker and followed my instructions and got a brick. but not a full brick. its stuck in the bootloader screen. after reading countless threads, i learned that i should be able to just still update a rom to the phone with no problems which actually works, but as soon as a rom completes it goes right back to my bootloader screen so help me! please cuz now thats its a challenge again, i want the phone! plus all my info is on the phone still back up
Flash the official stock ROM first, then use Button's ROM to downgrade your IPL and SPL before unlocking CID.
post the present IPL/SPL it displays now.Which rom you are trying to flash now ?
ok when i try to put the most current 8125 rom on my phone (2.25.blah) it tells me that its not the same phone which is weird but thats preventing me from putting the original rom on the phone. however if i try and put the buton rom on the phone now, it will go through completely and say it put it on the phone, but when it restart, its right back to the bootload screen...
and im running IPL 2.21.0001 and SPL 2.21 with a previous installation of a jaguar rom, dont know exactly which one, but i know it was a jaguar rom. but right before i tried to upgrade the updater, i went back to my default WM5 rom so i guess it was te basic 2.21 rom on the phone with WM5

WEIRD !
You got mixed Bootloaders of G3 And G4,IPL 2.21.0001 is G4 and SPL 2.21 is G3,as you posted, well, can't say which was original, only you can tell, but some how its mixed Bootloaders,in this situation no Rom will flash, its a 'Brick'.
If as Zabardast says its bricked then you have three options:
1. Get a new Wizard
2. Get a new Wizard Motherboard
3. Get a Wizard with broken LCD from eBay and replace its LCD with your current one and Enjoy!!! (Cheapest)
lol this is tough! but no worries, ill be back with some other pda at some point and time and then ill try and take this phone apart! but the weird thing about my wizard is that this only happened when i tried to update the phone with the CID unlock program that you have to pay for!
lol it was perfectly fine until i tried to do it! oh well, back to my crappy p168!
May be that CID Unlock program was not meant to be for a G3 and you were updating a G3 so it mixed you IPL/SPL and caused a kinda BRICK. So please be careful before doing flashing things because if you dont be carefull then your PPC may become a heavy paper weight, and a costy one too. LOL. TC

Ok guys i am really pissed i have been looking for three days and cant find it, first off my IPL is at 1.01 and the SPL is at 2.25 and i cant fix it i wanted to install the original 2.25 again and start from scratch but can not find the damn thing so if anyone has it can u just upload it fo me and give me a link that i can get it at please i am sick and tired of waitnin i really like this phone and i dont want to risk bricking it thanks.
Ok, grimgod, aggression is reaaaallly ugly and no freakin one will help with that sh!t attitude (pardon the language, mods). The senior members do everything they can to help the noobs. Have you tried reading the flashing guide, wiki, or tutorial? I'd bet even money you haven't. Have you CID unlocked? Did you flash the button rom twice ( as the guide suggested to get ipl/spl both 2.xx)? Did you flash the official tmo rom (found im the flashing guide)? Have you done anything other than sit on your hands and wait for it to be handed to you? READ AND SEARCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=310831 <HERE!!!!!!!!!! Should I flash your device, too?
Similar issue... need some Wizard Expertise
I picked up a coworkers old Cingular 8125 that he'd had in a drawer for about a year. Battery was right dead so the phone wouldn't boot. I charged the battery on an external charger for a few minutes, put it back into the phone, and plugged it in to the charger until the LED went green indicating a full charge.
When I power up I see the T-Mobile splash screen (light gray background, some square dots, and the "T-Mobile" logo). And there it stays indefinitely.
Tried a hard reset (Comm Mgr + Voice Cmd + Soft Reset), and it said "Press Send to restore factory default". Pressed the green dialer key (I assume that's send), and it says Format FAT partition, FAT partition complete, and then returns to the same T-Mobile splash screen and hangs there.
So then I tried putting it into Boot Loader manually (Power On + Camera). No problem, shows IPL 2.26 and SPL 2.26. Plug it into the computer USB port (running XP Pro), and then the USB connection shows on the phone. Attempted to flash the Wizard Love ROM to get this thing back to square-one. Error 260. Attempted to flash the T-Mobile stock ROM. Error 260.
Between each flash attempt, I'm pulling the battery out and starting fresh. I think I've followed all the steps I'm finding in multiple threads. But for some reason I'm not able to get this thing to communicate via USB. All RUU's give an Error 260. Am I missing something?
Forgot to mention I'm following the steps outlined in this thread from Dr P. To the letter!
Also did a little reading up on using the MTTY method in this thread by Drug_Store. Thought maybe the existing ROM might be intact, and I might be able get it to a 256MB MiniSD, then write the backup ROM from SD in boot loader. Well, for some reason I don't even see the USB connection option when I use the MTTY - can't ever get to a point where I can issue commands. Again, I think I'm following the instruction. But still no juice.
Nudge, nudge. I'd donate for a solution that works... otherwise I have to keep letting my 10 year old play The Quest on my phone.
