hello am tattootroy and new to the forum. i need to know if i can downgrade my o2 exec uk. to windows mobile 2003se as i find this a bit slow and loggy i have taken off all the o2 crap with the hard reset enter code feature. and its still not fast like my mpv m2000 which has a slow 400 mhz cpu and tomtom runs nice on it ..
1.can it be done ,if so
2.will all the bottons and stuff functios work?
3. how do i go about doing it ?
ps i did search and read lots of post but found no info.

No you can't.
Well, actually if you have a lot of time and expertise them you could hack a WM2k3se Rom (like the BlueAngel guys did to get WM5 and is currently being done with the AKU 3x Roms) but I doubt it would be worth the effort.
Just overclock the sucker.

I have a magician pda (o2xda2mini running on WM 2003SE).I wanted to go for a new one so i found HTC - P4350 to be good.I think its HERALD..Before that i have some quires.If u can plz spend some time...
1.It comes with WM5..Can i upgrade to WM 6 or 6.1?
2.Can i get all those cube and sliding effects like diamond(by installing softwares from xda...)
3.Is it a good phone(speed) coz its only got 200Mhz processor where as my present one(O2 XDA2 mini has 416 mhz)
4.How is the reception?coz my xda2mini sucks
5.DO u have any other good pda's to suggest?TYTNII is too costly.
Plz help me go for a good deal..

1. Read all about HARDSPL and USPL but you have to know that there always is a risk that you might brick your phone so yes but risky. If you follow all the instructions though there is a high percentage you can do it but read at least like 6 hours b4 you do anything ^^
2. Yes and performance is good.
3. You can use batterystatus to overclock the cpu to at least 260 thats always stable and it's a nice phone everything I use works flawlessly and the 25ish RAM you got after installing some progs is most of the times enough too.
4. With a custom ROM that has a new radio built in it's perfect never had no reception anywhere but I'm living in a big town in germany so dunno if it's different on the countryside.

hey Karkalanand,
i bought it from Chandigarh and ROM version is 1.37.720.2 WWE , the only problem i face is of it being slow after sometime, requires a soft reset everyday other than that no problem and its matter of getting used to the onscreen keyboard. i did install .net 3.5 framework which i guess has better memory management and looks like it improves responsiveness a bit.

Depends on provider etc etc. I guess most people use 1.11.25.71 and 1.11.25.76. Just try and see which is the best for you
25.71 is the best so far.. 25.76 drains the hell out your battery.. u will be disappointed with your xperia in no time if u use 76.. i recommend 71..
My X1 has this heating problem..its a brand new phone and hope the problem doesent escalate....Wi-fi, many calls, etc..all heat the phone up..
so was wondering if there is a way to solve this heating problem in any way, ROM upgrade, OS upgrade??

No. Heating up is a widespread issue and will not be changed by a ROM. Flashing a newer radio may help some, but the more you use the radio at once (wifi,calls,data...etc..) the hotter it will get.

the x1 cover was made by metal, so it is usually hotter than other fones, but it will keep your fone cooler.

Well, I use a higher capacity battery to lower the temp. Also, using Christians Clean Rom up to version 28004 was great. The latest 28011 made it significantly hotter again! So now waiting for his coming release of 28014 which hopefully will bring it back down again
When is the final X2 ROM going to make an appearance on XDA???
I really want a clean, un coooked, no frills, as-is X2 ROM.... when and where can u get it, also, i dont want the ROM that has a start menu at the bottom..i want theone on the top...

It is not dificult to try the new radio by yourself.Just download and flash.It only takes 5 minutes.If you dont like then you can go back to 1.14 radio.
After a lot of rom i now use

Its a great rom.Try with 1.17 radio or 1.10.My x1 not warming like before after daily hard use(lot wifi-3hrs phone calls-sms-emails)
Try this combination rom and radio and let me know.
