Big problems with my Wizard (MDA Vario) - Flash Problem

Hi i have huge problem with my wizard.
Well i bought MDA Vario in germany so WM5 was german but i dont understand german (well maybe , ja and nien ) so i discover this site .. very nice and full of information but when i did a search and i didt find similar problem so here is my problem.
I updated my phone with Qtek_9100_1_6_7_ENG__OS_ONLY and now every time i power on the phone i see (three color) display and some text IPL 2.21.0001 and SPL 2.21.0001 and thats all (when i connect USB i see text in bottom left corner - USB).
If i want to update with for exmple:AKU_3.2_by_ell_3.32.2 my update goes to 99% and thats all (Update tool on PC is 100%).
And when i take the battery out and in again i see three-color display again :S.
What software do i need to use to get my PPC (MDA Vario) working again?
Can i fix this problem my self or i need to take it to the profesional repairman?

You have G4 Wizard (IPL/SPL like 2.x.001), so you can only flash ROM without IPL/SPL. And now you can see bootloader (utility for flashing ROM). That ROM, you used, is not for your device, that's why you can see bootloader now. You need rom without IPL/SPL. ELL's ROM AKU 3.2 is very unstable, and it is not for your device too, don't use it. I can recommend Molski's ROM - www.molski.biz
SO, what to do:
1. download new ROM - http://www.molski.biz/downloads/roms/RUU_Molski.Biz_226102_22610105_022511_G4_WWE-30MB.exe - it is ROM for your Wizard.
2.Turn on, your Wizard - you will see your "three colors" screen - bootloader
3.Connect your Wizard to usb cable and start flashing. It will stay at 98% for a few minutes, don't disconnect it.
This ROM works fine. Give some feedback, after flashing this one.

Jst One little question.
Is there a list of G4 Roms available?
I know for FPT of XDA but some roms are not labled G4,or G3.
So wich ROMS are for G4 Devices.

If the rom is not speciffically labeled as g4 then it is a g3...g4 is relatively new stuff so in the old times roms where not separated in g3/g4..

as is said above i would recommend molski's ROMs ive had 2 of them both excellent and highly stable and he clearly labels them so if u need to upgrade its obvious which file u need

No, there is no list of G4 ROMs (I think) You need ROM without IPL/SPL.G4 Wizard is IPL/SPL like 2.x.001, and G3 like 2.xx. So, you will have to look for ROMs without it. But Molski's ROM is one of the lastest, and works fine. If you want any other ROM, try to search here, but on ftp there is no list of ROMs for G4

try this
Firware an old rom back on the device prefrebly the one you ohone came with and make sure you phone is cid unlocked. Also have you tried a hard reset

Force bootloader mode!

A couple of things to start with. First of all get you device back working. As mentioned by epimazzo above, force your device into bootloader and flash a stock ROM not a cooked one. Read the thread.
Once you have got your device working start reading before making any more rash decisions about upgrading to WM6 (especially when the file name hints that it is for a Prophet and not a Wizard). There is only one leaked Crossbow ROM for a Wizard. This has been cooked a few times (Orwell, PDAViet, Underground). There are many threads on the merrits of each ROM but you need to read read read before you end up with a brick.

Fixed Boot crash problem
Thank you Guys for all the help; I got it back running.
formatted : Push the network button and the voice button and reset then release the rest and you get the balck screen that has the press send button and that formats Wizard and then
Push the Power + Voice + Camera and I get the Red Green and White screen. quickly Update the ROM to the origunal one I have T-Mobile. It worked. You guys are the best. I found 5._Underground_edition_Crossbow_ROM But I was not able to flash it. I need to unlock the CID but I read that I would have to down grade the Wizard and then Unlock the CID. I am still looking for the old ROM.i think I found it. If anybody has a better way to Unlock the CID please tell me.

My MDA Vario(Wizard) is almost dead!! Help please!

Iám Spanish and I just bought a MDA VARIO in GErmany, so I tried to install the spanish rom "2.18.7.8" and i did it. Everything was ok during installation, but when I restarted... The device couldn´t restart. It allway stop on the Qtek screen(with the sky), sometime it change the screen into a white(HTC innovations) one for a second. But it doesn´t work.
I made soft and hard reset, but nothing changes.
I also tried to install an other rom by bootloader way, but the rom sais that is not possible to contact with the phone device.
I´m scared and I don´t know what to do.
Know this is the rom´s I have on my Qtek 9100 :

SPL 1.06
OS 2.18.7.8

With activesync on it will say it won't detect the phone plugged in while it's in bootloader mode. Run the ROM update anyway.

Thanks, but it doesn´t work. The Rom software said that is unable to connect with the phone.
I just tried to install the vanilla WM6, and with zhis rom, the installation could begin, but at 95% it happen an error... and i need to reinstal an other time the vanilla WM6.
I tried an other time, but the same error on 95% :-( And i can´t instal others rom.

did you CID unlock?
enter bootloader and flash the original rom from that screen, then start again. if you don't know how to get into bootloader screen or what CID lock is, read the wiki and the stickies in the forum. Don't worry, it is not a brick

Thanks a lot for our support! I still tnhinking I have a brick :-S... Now It only apears the bootloather screen(three colors bars) due to the incompleted vanilla WM6 uppdate.
I think the CID is unlocked. I runed the Lokiwiz, but now, I am not sure if It worked... And now, the phone is without battery!!
Where I can find my original rom? The device is from T-Mobile and is a MDA VARIO. From Austria. I have 2 CD´s, one with windows 5 applications, and other with software... I can´t fin the rom.

there is a link to the US tmobile ROM in my signature. it may work, i don't know.
as for the dead battery, you have a few options,
1) charge the battery in a desktop charger such as this one from ebay.
2) try charging in a friend's wizard
3) i have read references to charging the battery with a n-i-n-e v-o-l-t battery and a p-a-p-e-r-c-l-i-p (i've typed it like that because there are getting more and More references to things than actual solutions when you search) battery many times, try googling this site for that (again in my sig).
the ROM is not on any CD they give out with it because they don't want people flashing their devices and ending up in the situation you are - why do you think they are locked.

I can charge the battery with the normal charger to 220v.

did you buy it from tmobile or ebay? (is it german tmobile or just bought in germany?)
go to the tmobile site and look for firmware/software updates for the mda vario. i don't know german so i could not find the mda vario on it

I bought yesterday on a T-mobile shop from Austria. I downloaded it´s roms... but the same problem.
I will carry the device to the shop...

I got a similar problem.
I wanted to install the latest AkU 3.3 on my MDA VARIO but it stopped at 95%.
So I tried to install the oldest version available from T-Mobile Germany.
But now my device restarts again and again.
It says
IPL 1.06
SPL 1.03
OS 2.24.2.8.
and restarts.
Sometimes (with the oldest software version) I can calibrate my touchscreen and then the device installs the T-Mobile software. After that it restarts again and again.
I also tried softrest after the message: in 3 seconds .... software will be installed. Then it reboots and sometimes wm5 starts but is running VERY slow. I can't switch it off using the power buttom.
I unlocked my MDA Vario using Lokiwiz. No CID Unlock just Unlock.
What can I do?

Plz be specific from where did u download the official rom,which u said u tried to flash.was it from official i-mate club ftp site and what was the version of the rom u tried to install,cuz they don't have any upgraded version on this site apart from the last wm5 dated year 2006. i-mate is not offering any wm6 upgrade to any of its products.
secondly, which other rom u tried to flash afterwards?
as far as ur attached pics r,if u can reach to this screen than do not worry about the upgrade info,as it's sometime displayed and sometimes not,just hit the upgrade.
if it completes than it's alright,but if it stucks for a very long time and displays any error message.it means it has not upgraded.

ur phone's ipl/spl 2.16,it's a AKU 2 version,therefore check the rom with which ur trying to update shud also be aku2.the update rom shud be newer than the one already on ur phone.

can you tell what exactly is the problem you are having at present is it that:-
1. you are not able to complete flash,it stops and give some error,if so then what error it shows ?
2.RUU starts to flash,but when it comes to the screen where it verifies the updating rom's info,there you don't see any info,as per your first post,than you discard the update?
3. is the version of the rom newer your are trying to update with then the one already on your device
plz verify these ?

Ok,lets try this way out,try to do a hard reset,to perform hard reset :-
1. Press and hold the Comm Manager button and Voice Command button on the device,than
2.While keeping the two buttons pressed with one hand, and at the same time,with other hand,use the stylus to lightly press and hold the soft reset button.
the device will reboot and restart again,see if it starts to work alright.If still freezes at the splash screen,than I'll suggest you do this,it really sometimes help and I have solved my problem so many times by doing this :-
Reboot your PC, run disk clean on Drive C:\,delete all the Temporary internet files,Temp files rather check mark all the options in the disk clean wizard option and hit ok,this will delete all the junk files from your PC,now delete all the cookies in the internet options,after doing all this,switch on your phone and go into Bootloader mode(tri color screen),when there than connect your phone to the pc using usb cable but don't active sync your phone,cancell active sync if need be,when you connect your phone with pc via usb,look at the screen of your phone you will see a little usb shown at the bottom of the screen.
Now open the rom which you downloaded and execute the Ruu..,it will start to flash,let it complete ,it will confirm flash and reboot,it start now and work normal, I hope,it will solve this problem remember don't do anything else with the pc like browsing the web or reading e-mails,playing games or working on Microsoft office,don't touch you pc and phone while the rom flashes.
Well,there is another way also,but as you want the official arabic version rom on your phone,do it first as i told you above,if it works,good,otherwise we will do the second method good luck

Hmmm, sry to say I observed you joined this forum on Dec,2006 and posted 57 times,just went through your posts and was amazed that you already have gone through this unlocking and upgrading on different devices,well you seem to have quite knowledge about all this,than how come you are stuck with this problem now ?

ok, what is the present status of your phone ? what ipl/spl...? it shows in bootloader mode ?
as you posted in another thread that you tried to flash wizard_love_rom,but did not succeed,earlier you only wanted to upgrade to an official arabic i-mate k-jam rom.Now do you want to upgrade to any rom ? by unlocking the phone ? or just want your phone to work by any means ? if yes,then there's another option to get your phone working,I really hope so.Plz confirm what you want to do now ?

ERROR [294] : INVALID VENDER ID
these error messages appear when you use the wrong RUU to do the upgrade. RUU will check if the Model ID and Language ID are compatible with the device.
Well, as I can think,you had an Arabic rom version OS 2.16.9.1 Arabic on your phone before and tried to flash a wwe version rom.the bootloaders verified and did not accept the rom.So a bad flash and splash screen got freezed,the only way is to flash and try to downgrade to IPL/SPL 1.xx and CID unlock the device and upgrade to another rom to start working, or flash the official stock Arabic rom to bring back the phone to it's default status,but the official rom you downloaded and tried to flash was of the same OS version didn't flash correctly and got splash screen stuck.Therefore,the only option left at present is to try and downgrade it to IPL/SPL 1.xx.The options are :-
1.Try to flash again button's rom 'CUSTOM__RUU_Wizard_1050412_WWE_101_11210_WWE.exe ' Which you already have with you,a couple of times more and see if it might work,
2.Otherwise download this rom from the link below and flash,hope it'll work :-

If successful,good,but if still fails,
3.there's still another option to flash the rom with replaced 'Romupdateutility' in the rom,which I'll explain how to do it later,

Is my K-Jam totally bricked?

Is my K-Jam totally bricked?
It is now stuck up in bootloader screen.
I am able to swtch it off with power button. I can also have first flash screen.
On connecting with USB port, it shows yellow light indicating that it is charging & that over a period of time, goes green.
Earlier I had flashed TNT ROM but while reflashing newer it got stuck up as after flashing, I tried to hard reset [mistakenly thought ROM is flushed fully] & could not go further after initail first screen.
Other details:
IPL:2.16
SPL:2.16
GSM:02.07.10
O.S.:11.0.0.2
May some one help?

Nopes ! its not 'Bricked' just had a bad flash. As long as it gets into bootloaders ,its perfectly safe. Perhaps,your phone is not CID unlocked ?
Download the official carrier's rom from its website and flash it in the bootloaders,it'll start to work fine.Then read the guide to cid unlock and upgrade.

i am having serious problems with my kjam.i installed black diamond's rom and now my phone boots upto the splash screen where it shows window mobile 6 and gets stuck there.
i have tried a soft spl, but it doesnt help as the phone cant connect or move from the splash screen.also, i can make call or do anything with the phone.
can someone assist me and also point me to a place where i can find the lastest tnt rom.

Always post vital data of the phone,which is your device G3 or G4.Have you Tried Soft Reset or Hard Reset.it sometimes help.
Well,if it's a G3,is it SIM/CID unlocked,cuz its required to get the phone CID unlocked to upgrade to wm6,but if its a G4,then use method 'SoftSPL' or 'HardSPL' as it cannot be CID unlocked.
Post IPL/SPL...? of the phone here.
You can find all the latest wm6 Roms in 'Wizard Mobile 6' forum.

'Hard Reset' the phone,hope it'll work fine.
Well,I assume,you cudn't do the SoftSPL correctly the first time,try to apply the SpftSPL again correctly,if it works,ok,otherwise you can upgrade to wm6 with HardSPL method.

2- I couldent remember but this phone approved by uaelab company [TA-2005/453 approved][E05/14/40225/g]and I flash with different official rom which you mentioned at ftp://ftp.clubimate.com but nothing happend ,maybe I do somthing wrong.

3- yes correct I did softspl with whit coulor screen then connected to pc and did toast that .
also I have problem to connect wst 4.2.2 to my ppc.
I download it and run, but the software couldent detect my fhone I dont know why .I connet it from bootloader 3coulor but nothing happen and so on.
could you please to explain how can I work with wst 4.2.2 also very important how to connect that because it says I have to connection with activesync .
