I have the same thing and tried the different methods (including playing a video that is supposed to help) but nothing worked. Mine is in the corner so I have learned to live with it but it sounds like you might need to get the unit swapped out. Will be interested to hear if HTC obliges.

yeah, my single pixel shows light blue down on the lefthand corner as well. it doesn't bother me in the least.
I got my screen repaired UNDER WARRANTY! You should at least try it.
I heard awful stories how HTC refused to swap devices/screens under warranty, because of dead/stuck pixels, if there isn't like 4-6 there.
But still, at least I got my Kaiser repaired under warranty, just by calling HTC official support. Got a statement there that my provider should fix it, then took down the reference number from HTC case and called my provider, and they agreed to swap it! (gave the reference number, and told that the screen is supposed to be swapped!) I am so happy right now! *Knocking the wood*. Hope I'll really get it back after 2 weeks with no stuck pixels on it anymore.
Of course I needed to tell them at HTC that I think itäs totally unacceptable to have 1 stuck pixel on the screen. As in comparison to 19 inches screen that equals to 15 stuck pixels! Don't know if that affected the decision, or maybe the customer support technician was one of the nice kind.
I had a blue dot on left corner also, i could see only on black screen ! so ... Accidentally i found a solucion... note: in my case works ! with my finger, i just press a little bit hard on the right down corner, and the blue dot Disappeared... but when i press hard on the corner with blue dot, it came back... so, I presume that is a bad connect in same way... i order a new screen anyway, but still use the old one Without blue dot .
p.s sorry my
i have a white dot in my splash screen
and i adore it!!!!

My XDA Stellar has just arrived and it has what appears to be a dead pixel a quarter of the way up the screen about 5mm in from the left hand edge. It's it is lit in blue on a black backround but is white on a white background.
Do I have grounds for a swap or will O2 say it's unavoidable etc?
I returned my tilt to ATT because of a dead pixel without a problem (within the first 30 days.) It was bright WM6 green and it drove me crazy
kaiser
i have a kaiser with a dead pixel not happy about it. been trying to fix it with software with no luck. im very dissappointed with it and htc wont replace the phone with only one dead pixel.
I had a dead/stuck pixel, all I did was massage the screen a bit , apply a little pressure and move your finger up and down over the dead pixel , should sort it out. As per company policy I think 3 dead pixels are required to get a replacemnt. After the massage(which was 20 days ago) the phone is fine without any sign of the dead pixel
Dead pixel
I'm sure this will not solve everyone's problem but it might help a few. I had a pixel that appeared to be always on. It showed blue when the background was black. I powered off my TyTn II several times and the problem was still there. Then I tried pulling the battery and "Bob's your Uncle" the problem went away. I have had this problem twice and each time the battery removal has solved the problem.
Hope this helpful to some of you
Ok I've tried using magic fingers on it and pulling out the battery but it's still there.
Think I will call Customer Services tomorrow and see what can be done. Ideally a swap out at my nearest store as it's a pain in the arse to do returns.
Quite annoying really as I'm dying to H-SPL and get a proper ROM on it, but whilst I'm undecided about what to do with it, don't think it is too wise.

If you haven't noticed it you haven't got one/any!
The pixel doesn't work i.e. it doesn't show the colour it is supposed to. Mine for example is permanently blue, so isn't noticeable on a blue background or a white one (white because red and green are also on to make white), but is noticeable on a black or green background and I would presume a red one too.

Thanks I cycled it for 10 minutes and hasn't fixed it. I'll run it overnight and see if it works, but in any case O2 are doing a swap out on Tuesday.
I wouldn't be satisfied with a dead pixel either. Massaging shouldn't work in this case because the touch sensitive area should not touch the LCD.
I have one dead pixel on my TyTN II. When I called HTC Finland they said I need to have about six!!! to get it repaired under warranty.
I didn't check for dead pixels when I receiced the device (discovered the dead pixel later that same night) and didn't have time to deal with the issue, so weeks passed by.
My dead pixel is WM green and only visible during boot up.
from what i have gathered, the dead pixel problems occure a lot on the kaiser, the screen used are very cheap, that why ppl have noticed, that the kaiser has two different type of screen.
my first tytn 2 had a red dot on the black screen when you open the phone, during normal use, nothing shows up, i had it changed when i found out, and i spent about 1 hour checking through the new unit.
I have two program for checking dead and stuck pixels, one of them actually fixes the pixel problem, but as pointed out 50/50 chance.
let me know if anyone needs the program, and prepare to let it run fir a few hours.

My answer to the original question:
NO!
On a device with a very low resolution screen such as the kaiser, a single dead pixel is not acceptable. Manufacturers who make LCD displays with millions of pixels typically have limits of 3-5 dead pixels, but this device has only a few hundred thousand, which makes a single pixel stand out like a sore thumb.
HTC should be ashamed that they can not support their devices. If my tilt had a dead pixel, i'd have taken it back to AT&T immediately. Contact your vendor and demand a replacement. If you've purchased it recently enough, and they refuse to take it back, send it back to them via certified and signature confirmation mail (tell them it's coming), and after it has been received, call your credit card company and revoke payment from the vendor.
Remember, unless the vendor had a highly visible disclaimer about dead pixels, if you received the unit with dead pixels it is defective and NOT what you paid for.

I'd love a link to the programs you used.
How can I tell if my phone has a dead pixel or a stuck pixel? It is just one small white spec and it's annoying the hell out of me.
HTC has a serious quality control issue with it's new Kaiser. This is my 4th and I will exchange it again if I have to. It's just sad that I actually miss my 8525.. I might even give up and buy another 8525. It was a solid device imo.
Check this out if you DID NOT get the stuck pixels go away with the links posted above! The video really can help, and the other mentioned methods.
They didnt work for me, so here is my way out. I got my screen repaired UNDER WARRANTY!

I just got my tilt two weeks ago and one friggin pixel went blue on me right in the middle. i was about to return the phone but "massaging the screen" trick worked.
im pretty disappointed with the quality of the screen.
Dead pixel came...dead pixel went
i've been using my store bought tytn 2 since may 2008 and i encountered a deal pixel today...
it was blue on black background and white on white background...near the today screen clock's last digit in portrait mode...
i kept my cool...the idea of massaging came to mind so i did a couple of finger swipes over the pixel...10 seconds into the problem but the dead pixel was still there...now i panicked a bit...but then i flicked the side of the phone near the power button and viola...the dead pixel is now alive...hope it doesn't recur...(fingers crossed)
maybe "flick from the side method" is worth mentioning in the wiki for other people experiencing dead pixels...?
Hi guys i have a question ,i bought a Samsung Galaxy S and i notice a tiny green line going all the down of the left side ,there is no on right side top or bottom ,is this a hardwere issue ?do i need to return my Galaxy S for fix?

yes,its hardware issue.
So my Galaxy S is broken
Is it really a hardwere issue ?
I have this too, but i recently had my screen replaced, I don't remember noticing it before (maybe i forgot). I think it is normal due to the sub-pixel (RGBG instead of RGB) make-up of the screen.
I have searched for it and it appears most people have it or don't notice it (We must be very eagle eyed). However I would like confirmation from someone with a SGS that has bought it new without a screen replacement.
Btw Rider17 is yours new? Has it had the screen replaced at any point? Can you post a picture? (I can't find my charger for my camera )
I bought it new,and if i notice i don't think so that it was replaced ,also i checked on google, and most if SGS users have this,i will take a picture and post it .
I have it on my Galaxy S, but the line is so small I barely notice it unless im looking for it.. and i only notice it on white backgrounds. But my screen is a replaced one and I cant remember if I had it before. But maybe your line is larger.. do you notice it on black backgrounds?
No it's only on white background noticeble ,it so tiny i hope it stay tiny
Go take it back. Why should you have to deal with a hardware issue if it's still within warranty and your warranty covers it?
Yea i have warranty but the line is not noticeble only if i put phone 1cm/inch to my eye,i read that a lot of users have same thing.
Hey guys, have a look at these stuck pixels. The occur only on a special grey tone but they happen... Especially on the flashlight app or the topbar of the (old) playstore... I made some pictures of it.
The funny or strange about them are that they dont appear on various pixel tester apps. That means: On a clear Black, White, Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Cyan OR Magenta colored screen they are not visible. Just only on some special grey mixture which i couldnt clearly reproduce because the screenshots the htc make are very low quality.
If you look closely, especially the foto of the playstore. the stuck pixels are only in special rows
Here you go:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/2grh2gjwvud0sli/P_0O7jhs1J
what do you think about that? fixable or not?
The SN begins with HT343
I would do a factory reset and if that does not help ask for an exchange.
Factory Rest didnt help and i made one earlier this morning. I'll change it. I dont know what it is and it seems that this kinda problem never occured anywhere so the safest way is to send it back and get a new one
if it was a computer i would say the problem is at the hardware on graphics chipset. in this case looks like hardware fault too but hope you can handle it with software.

I send it back one hour ago. If it makes things like that after a day, what will it do after a year?
Hi I recently purchased sealed Uk Vodafone htc one 801n m7 factory unlocked . 7k cheaper or you can say around $110 usd cheaper .
Its camera didn't had any issue out of the box on 4.1.2, but as I updated one patch maybe was for camera and then,4.2.2, 4.3, and now on 4.4.2 , still It has the purple tint camera issue which comes on the edges of the screen just indoors in normal or low light, if kept flat on table then screen becomes purple clouded and not all black . Camera though is awesome in day light images .
Please note I did the saturation, iso tricks but still nothing
It had one more issue before that when I used to click middle menu button, it used to show black shadowed icons, then pressing menu button again to go out and pressing again to go in, then they used to get fine . I Got scared if it was a hardware issue!
I did reset from settings and issue was still there and still unnoticeable issues/bugs were still there like removing any blinkfeed service (when sliding to left for blinkfeed highlights menu or whatever we say to it) but it was still there on the highlights menu .
So I found the best way to reset is to do it the volume down and power button way, after I did that .... I havn't faced yet (touchwood) any such menu icon issue . And what I select is only shown in blinkfeed menu now and others are removed If not selected . Even facebook connected a different stylish way when I logged in for firt time after this way reset .
I will strongly recommend to all to only reset the volume down and power button way for proper reset, and not to do it from settings specially for our awesome m7 .
Just the camera purple tint is still there and to get it repaired I will need to send my phone in the uk (as warranty is valid there only) which I cannot do, so any hopes still that an upcoming update might fix the camera issue or something ?
Other than this phone is awesome now and no bugs .

The camera is a hardware issue, not a software. I was a victim of this as well. You have only 1 solution- to give the phone for a camera replacement. I did the same and now its perfect.
Now, the issue is that u don't have local warranty. My suggestion would be to ask HTC India if they would repair it at a small fees. Shipping it to UK would be costly and would take time as well.

thanks for the reply. I will never give it for repairs , its a lot of tension dealing with illiterate service center people here in delhi , might also put scratches or dents to my new phone ... Htc service centers are private here not officially owned by htc , else international warranty would have worked for me here . But I had a word with them , they told it will cost Rs. 4,500 and first will open the phone and will check if have that particular camera part or not . As my htc one is 801n lte 4g , lot of hassles so not dealing that way .
Wish someone still gives me hope that it might gets fixed via update , as it was all fine when I checked it at the shop without doing any updates on it . I mean doesn't makes much sense .

Ya im Indian, I know how it is
Here, in Dubai also, HTC also outsources its repairs to another private company. They polished the phone and everything and returned it a better state as compared to what I gave it in.
IMO 4.5K INR is worth it

This along with turning the iso to 200 really did help my spare phone
it's actually usable now, albeit lower quality
My HTC One M7 was bought an year ago (India). Had purple tint even at that time. But bearable, it became worse day by day. Gave it to the customer care center as the grace days of my phone's warranty. Got it repaired after a week, works perfect! No purple tint. HTC Fanboy Foreve'!
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Mobile App.
I recently discovered my HTC ONE M7 has dead pixels on the top of the screen (notifications bar, which sucks as you cant access any shortucut to the notifications and need to look for the app on your own) and in the middle of the screen (when there is something to click on that spot i have to scroll up or down where the screen actually works. In some cases the page can't be scrolled down or zoomed therefore I am just screwed without options).
Turns out this happens 6 months after I got this phone exchanged by HTC (because the original phone I bought had a defective camera with purple color bug). This means the screen of the "new" phone I got has a life span of 6 months without defects only. SIX MONTHS!!
It seems when HTC replaces your phone for a new one they are just giving you defective products or refurbished products, which will break shortly after.

I have this line in my screen, I try to update and restart the phone and nothing work...
This line can dissappear for a few seconds but appears again, I call Huawei and they will repair the phone, but... anyone with the same problem?
(Sorry English, I'm Spanish)
Regards.
The line isn't clear at least when looking at your pic on my tablet. You might want to post a shot against a dark background so it's easier to see.
If it's a vertical line from top to bottom that is always in exactly the same place I have seen that type of thing when a phone was repaired but the display wasn't reattached to the motherboard properly.

This line always see in the same place.
If I use a dark background this not show, because AMOLED system don't turn on pixels.
This show in vivid colors, I can't shot better photo because this is very difficult.
Sorry.

I think only a black background doesn't turn on pixels--dark backgrounds still emit light. In any case that sounds like a defect but I haven't read about others having that issue. I did read that Huawei swapped out the displays on some phones returned with LG displays and put in BOE displays. If there's any chance you have a refurb instead of a brand new phone that would make the problem you are describing a lot more likely. You could try doing a factory reset but it probably won't help. If you have a warranty you should return your phone or get it serviced.
