bad pixel repairing

in the middle of the screen i have a very annoying one (blue) bad pixel
i can see it only with a black background
i rty to fix it according to the following instruction....with no success

can someone recommend a different action ???
or maybe a software that can help with this issue ???

I have the same thing and tried the different methods (including playing a video that is supposed to help) but nothing worked. Mine is in the corner so I have learned to live with it but it sounds like you might need to get the unit swapped out. Will be interested to hear if HTC obliges.

yeah, my single pixel shows light blue down on the lefthand corner as well. it doesn't bother me in the least.

I got my screen repaired UNDER WARRANTY! You should at least try it.
I heard awful stories how HTC refused to swap devices/screens under warranty, because of dead/stuck pixels, if there isn't like 4-6 there.
But still, at least I got my Kaiser repaired under warranty, just by calling HTC official support. Got a statement there that my provider should fix it, then took down the reference number from HTC case and called my provider, and they agreed to swap it! (gave the reference number, and told that the screen is supposed to be swapped!) I am so happy right now! *Knocking the wood*. Hope I'll really get it back after 2 weeks with no stuck pixels on it anymore.
Of course I needed to tell them at HTC that I think itäs totally unacceptable to have 1 stuck pixel on the screen. As in comparison to 19 inches screen that equals to 15 stuck pixels! Don't know if that affected the decision, or maybe the customer support technician was one of the nice kind.

I had a blue dot on left corner also, i could see only on black screen ! so ... Accidentally i found a solucion... note: in my case works ! with my finger, i just press a little bit hard on the right down corner, and the blue dot Disappeared... but when i press hard on the corner with blue dot, it came back... so, I presume that is a bad connect in same way... i order a new screen anyway, but still use the old one Without blue dot .

Badly damaged screen - need advice

i bought a htc hd7 in january this year from a tech mall in hong kong. im now in perth australia and the hd7 is not available here yet.
anyway the phone was great right up until one of my friends dropped/threw my phone into the ground with a decent amount of force. at first i was happy to see that there was no damge to the phone on the outside, the screen wasnt cracked and the casing was fine. the touch screen still worked fine but now there are these lines everywhere. all over the screen. on the right side, there is a strip of just black. im assuming that bit of the screen is completely dead. it gets rid of the last number and continues like that all down the screen. there is also a ugly shade of grey that has the shape of a backwards "l" around the bottom right corner. the only way i can use my phone without these lines is if i set the theme to white, but even then it is extremely dull and greyish. when the theme is on black, everything that is coloured white, such as text or images sends the lines all the way down the screen, perfectly aligned with the white text or image all the way down the screen.
im a little unsure if this is the screen or something more internal. most importantly how/where can i get this fixed?

do you think if i bought the parts and took it to a phone repair shop they would fix it?

I would call the repair place first to see if they'd use the parts you supply & if it'd be any cheaper than just having them use their parts.
I'd say try to find someone in your area who has done screen replacements before who do it for you for a small fee. I've done a few of them, it's not that hard. I've replaced them on the HTC Kaiser & Excalibur. The HD7 should be easier to do as it doesn't have a keyboard.
NOTE: This will void your warranty, so you may want to upgrade the SD Card at the same time if you want 32GB of storage.

well if my phone is covered by warranty then wouldnt htc replace it?

No, warranty doesn't cover damage caused by the user or this case, user's friend. You'd have to of paid for the accidental damage insurance for them to replace it.

[Q] Samsung galaxy Note-Right hand corner of the screen is unresponsive.

Hi all.I bought my galaxy note almost 2 months back.This is my first android phone.I have used iPhone 4 before buying this beast.I must say its awesome.However lately i have started experiencing a little problem.I have noticed that at times while typing my note's screen( Right hand corner) became unresponsive. I had to press the screen a lot of times to actually type a single letter( it was the GO button actually.) After struggling with it for 5-6 minutes it started working fine.After a few days i experienced the same problem again.I took my handset to the service center but the screen was working fine then.
I face this problem sometimes . i noticed that after locking the screen and then unlocking it solves the problem for that moment.Is this a software problem or hardware.
I wasn't able to convince the service person that my device has the problem.How can i make him convince and get the handset replaced.
Any help would be Highly appreciated. (The problem area is actually the place on screen where application icon is situated.)

Is the problem there only when you charge it? Because, there are known issues with many smartphones where that is the case. If it is, then I am right there with you, and trying different chargers I heard will alleviate the issue.

No the problem is not when i charge the device.I face this problem very rarely but not when charging.I would like to mention that the charger provided with the device was very slightly bend on the charging end as if it was forcefully inserted in some device.Though it charges the device without any problem.

However the minute I pick it up in my hands, the problem goes away. Strange. I had my note replaced under warranty, only to find the problem re occur on the replacement phone after a few days.

I'm having the exact same problem and thinking of taking it back to the service point. However, could it be rom related?
I'm running LA4. GOing back to a backup of KK5 alleviates the problem.
Something else I've noticed is that when left on a surface the application
button rarely responds but as soon as I touch it on the sides it works and when Ialso plug the usb cable it also works flawlessly.

A friend of mine has the same issue, but it only occurs if the device is laying flat on a table which is odd, he plans to have yet another screen replacement but will probably wait a few months due to shoddy quality control.

But the issue went away after I flashed Abyss kernel 3.9 via cwm. Now the right bottom corner is as sensitive as the left bottom corner. You might wanna try a different kernel 1st before sending to the service center...

If I remember correctly one HTC phone had similar problem, screen was unresponsive when lying on table but as soon as u pick it up it worked fine. It had something to do with screen/digitizer not being grounded properly.

I got my handset replaced last Saturday, but i am facing the same problem with the new handset.Are you sure that by changing the kernel the problem will be solved.If yes then how can i change the kernel of the handset ?

Definitely a hardware problem because when I took it to Samsung service centre, the first thing they did was to flash the phone firmware. Only when the problem persisted, a replacement was given.

shot in the dark here, do you have a case on your note? I was going nuts on the first few days with my note using a flip style case only to find the damn magnet was causing the touch response issues. Took the case off and haven't seen the problem since.

After further testing it seems in my case at least it was definitely a kernel issue with cf-root kernel la4. Replaced it with a different one and problem solved.

Same problem here, put it down and bottom right corner doesn't respond, pick it up, responds instantly like rest of screen. I thought I had some kind of insecure Note that needed to be held or something. Last few days it was really freakin me out to the point I was purposely putting it down and then pressing and pressing and pressing the back button...nothing...pick it up...works with one slight touch, I was like WTF? What the hell could cause that???
Somewhat relieved to see I'm not the only one with a clingy Note. I'm going to wait and hope ICS fixes the issue, if not I'll guess I'll have to learn how to flash.

Thank goodness I'm not the only one in the world with this problem.
I first observed the problem when i upgraded to LA1. I was loving the improved battery life like a puppy until i noticed the bottom right part of the touch screen was as dead when placed on a flat surface. It started working again after I had picked it up, making me wonder if it had a "Hey I'm being hand held" feature, but it would still trip out when i'd type an SMS or email.
Called the Samsung service center to ask about it. they said they've never heard of such a problem and that I should just bring the phone in for software downgrading since my Note was ok till I upgraded it. For them, it was a firmware problem so replacing it was not on their priority list.
I ended up downgrading myself to KJ3 (using odin) which works fine. Unfortunately, i no longer enjoy the improved battery life or one-handed keyboard config.
No choice now but wait for ICS and hope it works flawlessly.

This is definitely a problem with screen. I got mine replaced an hour ago and did the LCD test. The new one is working perfectly fine (with and without flip case).
Try the LCD test . *#0*#.If the test fails get the hand set replaced.

What software version are you using?
Tried the screen test and mine works flawlessly on KJ3. Since I'm from southeast Asia, I don't have any other updates available except for LA1 which is buggy on my Note.

I have this line in my screen, I try to update and restart the phone and nothing work...
This line can dissappear for a few seconds but appears again, I call Huawei and they will repair the phone, but... anyone with the same problem?

The line isn't clear at least when looking at your pic on my tablet. You might want to post a shot against a dark background so it's easier to see.
If it's a vertical line from top to bottom that is always in exactly the same place I have seen that type of thing when a phone was repaired but the display wasn't reattached to the motherboard properly.

This line always see in the same place.
If I use a dark background this not show, because AMOLED system don't turn on pixels.
This show in vivid colors, I can't shot better photo because this is very difficult.

I think only a black background doesn't turn on pixels--dark backgrounds still emit light. In any case that sounds like a defect but I haven't read about others having that issue. I did read that Huawei swapped out the displays on some phones returned with LG displays and put in BOE displays. If there's any chance you have a refurb instead of a brand new phone that would make the problem you are describing a lot more likely. You could try doing a factory reset but it probably won't help. If you have a warranty you should return your phone or get it serviced.

It's not green gate problem, this is other problem.
I can't test more because I sended the mobile to Huawei Care.

Are you talking about folded amoled displays because slightly curved displays have been around for years and I never heard of what you described being a common problem.
In any case at least you're getting it resolved.

A friend told me that in your samsung galaxy S7 (folded amoled display) haved the same issue, but he didn't have a warranty, as I do ...

Hello every one, 2 days before i noticed a line on my m31s. I have done nothing in my phone not even charging. Just i wake up at morning i see lines through my display. Actually the out side of the screen not even had a scratch. Some thing happened on the inside of my screen and i dont know why.And today the lines had developed into pink and black colours on bottom of display. It is manufacturing defect. Phone is only 25 days old. What can i do. If i go to service centre will they replace my phone? What will be the reason for this and what parts of phone needs to be replaced for this. Please help.....
