As of yesterday I cant open my emails or other messages.
I don't get an error, just nothing happens when I click on either emails or sms.
Also it seems that al my contact are gone :s
I also can't sync with outlook anymore.
Everything else, Tom Tom, IE, calling, games,... works perfect.
I performed a Sprite backup and did a hard reset. Worked fine right after install, but when I put the backup back, same problem.
Didn't install anything new last few days, and nothing strange happend as far as I know.
I don't really care about the messages, but I'm kinda attached to my contacts.
Anyone had this before?
Yup i have the same problem ...... since a week or two .But just with sms/mms and i did NOT loose contacts. i use pocket informant and pocket cm and they dont have the problem. But when i try to open a standaart windows account i cant open the mesages anymore :-( . do u use SPB PHONE suite by any chance ?
I don't use SPB Phone suite.
And I guess it's a different problem. Now that I think it true, everything that's going wrong has something to do with outlook. I think sms is also handled by outlook on WM6?
Is there a way to get an error-log of outlook on WM6? or of WM6 in general? Outlook won't open and I get no error either so it's pretty hard to search for a solution this way.

Hi every1,
Ive been reading around all the faqs and forum posts and have decided to flash my rom from my t-mobile uk one to one of the cooked roms.
Howevere before I do this I wanted to backing my sms/mms messages. After much research I decided to get Jeyo Mobile Extender which I will pay for if and when I get it fully functional.
The Jeyo system tray icon is present, and the phone is fully synced and connected. No problem so far. This verified by me sending an sms it working and recieving one a notification appears near the taskbar with the sms and its details (contents, date, sender...etc).
All good so far, however in the folders it doesnt actually download any messages. Automatically or on demand (by selecting download messages now). It does however when select "mange my sms on my device" bring all the sms up but again when clicking download sms fails. I checked the setting and it is set to sync messages in inbox.
Ive tried installing, reinstalling, ensuring SMSExpress.exe is on and says its connected (on my device), restarting, soft reset and disabling firewall. No joy whatsoever. The inbox in SMS folder (which i believe is a .pst in mydocuments/sms) is empty.
Id be grateful for any advice. I spoke to a friend who has the MDA Vario and said he didnt have a problem using Jeyo which means it is compatible. Ive studied there forum and its little or no help and couldnt find anything on thiis forum.
Running:
Outlook 2003
Standard T-Mobile rom on Mda Vario III (WM6)
Connected Via USB and Active Sync
Windows XP SP2
Kind Regards,
Anil
Fixed, deleted all registries for outlook and jeyo, uninstalled everything and reinstalled.

Glad to here you have it fixed.
I would like to ask, what version of Outlook are you using and do you get the notification on your laptop/PC when an SMS arrives on your phone or do you have to Send/Receive SMS to drag it in?
I lost auto notification when I moved from the Hermes to the TyTynII.
Cheers.

Hi thanutz,
I also back-up my TyTN II SMS using Jeyo Mobile Extender. Now that your Jeyo's working, and you are flashing with the new WM6.1 ROM with threaded messages, may I know whether the back-up still works? Because I'm not sure how the threaded messages will translate into single lines Outlook interface. That's my only concern about updating to WM6.1. If it backs-up alright, I will upgrade to WM6.1
Thank you
the rom i flashed was duttys sual touch v4. Im pretty sure thats wm6 not 6.1 but check the threads.
Multiple message messages, i.e. sms of more than 160 characters move over to outlook fine but dont move back, they get capped at 160 characters.
By Threaded i take it u mean wm6.1 has a feature where a converstaion between 2 ppl appears as one entry in the sms folder.
Try dotfreds pim back up possibly may work....
2007 now and yes i do get a notification, but i was getting that with 2003 also. maybe try what i did.
I also removed the sms****.exe that runs in the background of the pda when hayo is connected and recopied a new version. that may cure ure problem.
Guys,
My org uses goodlink (good.com) as the email service provider not microsoft's push mail. I recently upgraded to a tilt and changed the rom promptly to schapps latest release.
The way the good software works is that it adds its own software stack (email/contacts/calendar etc) which syncs to the my outlook. The problem this creates is that my contacts do show up (the right softkey button leads to contacts which are the goodlink contact list) but are not connected to my dialer.
To be able to use smart dialling i then have to manually sync my phone to my computer to copy the contacts again which is a pain. My previous phone was based on windows 2003 whose dialler showed the goodlink contacts directly.
If there are any ideas or suggestions please let me know.

This is not what is supposed to happen. I use GL too. If you sync with Active synch eventually, you will end up with duplicate contacts. Sometimes it takes a bit of time for this to occur. This applies to GL 5. In 4.9, I had to do exactly as you are stating...synch only the contacts with active synch.
interestingly, I have a post regarding Good Mail. I found that using the XDA Live 3.0 (WM6.1) with the reTOUCHED dialpad, my contacts, while in the phone mode, linked to my Lotus notes contacts, not my local ones.
If I'm understanding you correctly, this is exactly what you want to happen (exactly the opposite of what I want to happen on mine).
I have 5.0.3.23 good mail with the above and it works the way you want yours...
Good luck,
MBN

With 5.0 the contacts are shared. If you sync with active sync, they will be duplicated because you are already syncing the mail server. GL 5 takes over much more of the system than past versions. I have found no way to change its behavior at all. If I make changes, it has protections in it that undoes the changes.
thanks for the help guys. I got on IT's case and changed my GL version to 5.0 and a hard reset and the installation of the retouched dialler everything is now working exactly the way i want it. Thanks guys!

Have you tried using Microsoft Voice command with Goodlink contacts? in my search for a solution i found a thread on another forum which said that voice commands/dialling wont work with goodlink contacts and we will have to sync them again. Im going to be trying it anyway but just wondering if somebody has already done the effort.
I can also vouch for that. I am the good admin at my org and the latest 5.0.4.46 works quite nice with outlook contacts and allows for smart dialing.

I use voice speed dial and it works with GL 5 owning the contacts without doing a sync via active sync. Haven't used MS VCMD so ymmv.

Hi all,
For some reason, my TF3D-screen does not show my Outlook emails (the envelopes) anymore, although my emails are still in sync (when I look with outlook, everything's fine).
Instead the screen says: "geen accounts" (Dutch for "No accounts").
Even stranger: TF3D shows when new emails have arrived (the green number in the envelope on the bottom of the screen), so it knows of the existence of my outlook email.
I already tried adding an extra account (gmail), switch to that account and back, as well as some soft resets, but so far nothing works.
Anyone any idea?
Thanks,
Dagmar
i think one of your manila (TF3D) files is corrupted or demaged.
try:

OR
try installing one of the manilas:

more manilas on the forum ->search
or hard reset

..Hi all,
have the same problem after using Sprite Backup Tool. Any Ideas?
Does Sprite Backup cause the problem?
Hi all,
I am experiencing exactly the same problem and right - it started immediately after installing Sprite Backup. Uninstalling Sprite did not solve the problem, though, nor did re-installing Manila. Any ideas other that a hard reset would really be appreciated...
I have the same problem and it was also sprite looks like this app does not backup but rather destroys your phone.... what a mess it also messed up the other menus aswell,
any one know how to get everything back to normal?
RM
i have the same problem too , for some reason my mail wont show on TFL3D, and wont even sync no more even when im connected to wifi or 3G data
Does someone know the registry key where HTC stores the information about the mail accounts?
I used the registry editor, but the "find"- function does not seem to work yet.. :-(
thanks
outlook envelop no more visible

same problem here any idea?
This keeps happening once i install sprite, does anyone have a fix for this or know how to get the email to display back in Touchflo? I do not want to reset the phone it takes too long to restore, and without a backup makes it even harder,
please advise...
RM
Same for me. I have 2 accounts in Messaging: Outlook (Exchange Server) and Gmail. Both accounts sync fine in Messaging app, but now only Gmail shows in TF3D. Tried to remove and recreate the Outlook account, but it didn't help.
I also have Sprite Backup, but I did not have to restore anything before the problem started.
i noticed when using PIM backup, that by default it removes what you backup!
can be changed in options
may be the problem? (havent used Sprite Backup)
Hi Guys,
I managed to get the Outlook Envelope back after flashing (same version) my Diamond. It was a headache trying to figure out the source of the disappearance.
Cheers...
Me again - another annoying thing is that there is also no more possibility to get a working ActiveSync-Connection via Bluetooth if you delete the pairing information (ActiveSync Partnership). The Option to add a Com Port to the Device is gone.
Now i will hard-reset my diamond and never use that creepy little s**t of Sprite Backup Software again.
Is there a way to fix this without a hard reset???
I am having this same problem. I use wireless sync. I get the notifier at the bottom of the screen with the number of new messages, but they do not show up in the envelope in Touch Flo...if I go to menu accounts, the messages are there.
Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this?
same problem on TP...
anyone find a solution to this?
I am still looking for a solution, too.
Bump. Im in the same boat. Anyone have any ideas?
This happened to me before and I couldn't figure out what was wrong. I later realized it was due to Sprite Backup. The backup somehow did not complete or restart properly. Unfortunately, I really can't remember what I did. I think I may have just restarted Sprite Backup and there was some kind of error stating what happened, which it performed a soft reset on the device itself. After the soft reset, everything was fine.
I am using a Treo 800w.
Hi all,
Just recently i re-formatted my hard drive on my laptop and put vista back on it. Now i went to connect my Diamond to the laptop...it downloaded some updates etc and installed and also installed the windows mobile device center.
Anyways the phone synched but it didnt give me a chance to specify where and what i wanted synched etc. So anyways it seems like all my contacts that were on the phone have gone missing...which annoys me to no end as i had no back up. Usually i have my contacts backed up on my outlook email program.
Now it must have synched the contacts somewhere but for the life of me i cannot find where. So does anyone have any ideas as to where my contacts have gone??. They arent on the sim card as i usually keep them on the phone memory. Ive checked through the phone memory...checking through all the files and cant see where they have gone...they have obviously been taken off the phone when the stupid thing decided to synch itself before i had a chance to stop the synch. I dont know how it synched because it only installed the microsoft stuff after the first synch.
Anyways really hoping someone can help as i cannot afford to lose all these contacts that i have had on the phone...
I would say that it synced all your contacts from your laptop to the Diamond i.e. nothing. It is usual to sync this way when first connecting.

Did you never synct your contacts with any Gmail or MSN account, or did you never create a backup of your system with SPB backup, if you have then there must be a way to import them again in Outlook and sync them to your phone, an other way maid be easy recovery, with this program you maid be able to find your .pst back at your harddsik important is that you install as less as possible during the time you didn't found it back cause everytime you install something at your pc the possebillity to overwrite the .pst files gets bigger.
Sucses

Thanks for all your help...ive managed to get all my contacts back. Good thing i had them on my nokia 8600 Luna so i just copied them from there to my laptop then onto my Diamond.

I did something very similar and learnt my lesson the hard way. Good news was I recovered quite a few contacts from old phone and even better news is that I've cut down my contact list to people I actually contact, rather just accumulate!
Hello, Please forgive me if this is anywhere on the forum, but I have searched everywhere and cannot find it.
I have lost the ability to get any emails and messages. This is not just a problem of not being able to send, I can no longer even see my email and message accounts. When I tap messaging or email, on my front screen in programs or wherever else, there is just a brief pause and then nothing happens.
I am using Mobile 6.1 on an unlocked Tilt (kaiser). I have a number of SPB programs running. I upgraded the ROM about a year ago, but I cannot remember which one it is. I have tried using a backup of the phone that I saved with SPB plus. Nothing.
I've tried hooking it to active sync and then trying to sync the emails. Not only nothing, it cannot sync--though this was a problem long before.
There are a few other quirks, too I use Tmobile and there is a signal that you have a phone message. I go into voicemail and there are no messages, but the symbol still remains.
Also, when it boots up, it tells me that there is a problem with my voice command program.
How do I get email and messaging back without reinstalling everything?
Has anyone ever heard of not being able to access the email and message functions of outlook at all-- and have them just stop suddenly.
Thanks
Fized the Problem
I am not sure what fixed it, but I went all around the site. I decided to try two things before reinstalling everything. First, I deleted any of the new programs I had installed recently. That did not do it. Then I popped out the storage card and rebooted. That did it -- but then I had a lot of memory problems. (I don't mean in my head, though I do sometimes.) So I uninstalled some of the larger programs, such as the SPBs. It is finally working again.
I'm not sure what happened, but if others are having this problem, try this first and see if it works.
PS It is fixed, not fized. Sorry about that
I'm not sure if I got that right or not, but is the problem that your inbox doesn't even open or it opens but the mail sync isn't working??? for me i had a problem in my mail sync and it wasn't solved except when i changed which internet connection type the programs should use.
Outlook not opening .. fixed

I had the same problem with Outlook not opening for email or text messages. The problem seems to be that there were several messages in the outbox which would not send. I had specified that attachments be placed on the storage card when available.
To solve the problem of Outlook not opening I first ran the Microsoft Installer Package “WindowsMobile61-KB958639.msi” to correct the SMTP email sending problem. Next I removed the storage card and rebooted the device. Outlook then opened and I did a send and receive which cleared the outbox. Then I replaced the storage card.
The problem of Outlook not opening appears to be fixed.
