https://www.google.com/accounts/Ser...k96igf4806cy&ltmpl=default&ltmplcache=2&hl=nl

Do you know if it's possible to still get a gmail account rather than googlemail ?
i.e. [email protected] NOT [email protected]

i logged out of my gmail account and went to this link https://www.google.com/accounts/Ser...k96igf4806cy&ltmpl=default&ltmplcache=2&hl=nl
and i tried i could still create an gmail account instead of google-email
just goto aanmelden voor gmail click set youre language to englisch
and youre account wil be [name]@gmail.com

I believe this started when google created their mail client but had a dispute over the gmail trademark in the UK so started using googlemail.
You could try going through an American proxy and give an American address?

were you not aware that gmail.com and googlemail.com accounts link together??
so if i send an email to [email protected] and [email protected] they BOTH get delivered to the GMail account of "user".
also - you have more than two email addresses with google...
I can also email [email protected] and [email protected] and they'll still deliver.
Try it!
It's great to stop SPAM - just register to newsletters with [email protected] and you can then filter the spam.

As far as I remember, that has always been the case - everyone with a [email protected] account has been able to use [email protected]
All Google did in the UK and elsewhere there were trademark disputes is drop the gmail.com, not add googlemail.com

WOW !!
Thanks for the insight.
The links always went to a googlemail sign in, this must be because of the reasons listed in the posts.
I'd also read somewhere that gmail had become an 'invite only' process following the change to googlemail.
So ... I emailed my googlemail account using gmail instead and ... woo wooo woo It arrived as you guys said it would.
Many thanks.

Get Your Live (Hotmail, Live, MSN, etc.) Email Without Using Live

Microsoft FINALLY opened up the POP3 ports for Hotmail, Live, MSN, etc. accounts. That means that we can get our email on our devices again without installing that stupid Live program.
This is especially great for me because the newer version of the Live Mobile program was crashing my Manila and freezing my email tab so I had to uninstall it.
I just set up my hotmail account and it worked immediately.
Here's what you need to do:
1. Create a new mail account
2. Don't put the real domain. For example, for hotmail, I put "hormail" because the device will automatically tell you to go to live.com to set it up. You can change your email address after you put in the server settings.
Here are the settings:
POP server: pop3.live.com (Port 995)
POP SSL required? Yes
User name: Your Windows Live ID, for example [email protected]
Password: The password you usually use to sign in to Hotmail or Windows Live
SMTP server: smtp.live.com (Port 25)
Authentication required? Yes (this matches your POP username and password)
TLS/SSL required? Yes

Click to collapse
Do all of this and click "Finish" then go back in and change your email server back to what it should be.
Click Send/Receive and you will get your mail.

This is great! Thanks for posting this, now I can free up a few megabytes on my device. I have always hated that I couldn't check my email on older devices that didn't support the live application, like my Mobilepro 900C. I was never a fan of the live app anyway, as I could never choose what happened to my mail on the servers if I deleted it on my device. Thanks,
Dave
How to get *all* sent emails to show up
Thanks for the heads-up regarding this. I'd heard Hotmail were going to offer a more standard form of POP/SMTP access one of these days. I've configured my Kaiser accordingly and it shows all my received emails fine and emails I've sent from my Kaiser fine but emails I've sent from my desktop PC do not show up in sent emails on the Kaiser. Is this what others are getting as well? How do I get all of my sent emails to show up as well?
Yea, only emails sent from the device will show up.
Glad to see other people find this useful as well.
You're welcome.
thank you so much
thank you so much i have wanted to have both of my hotmail accounts on my device for ages.

No problem. I'm really glad to have my hotmail back also.
For some reason, I can't get this working in Thunderbird on my laptop though or even on Outlook.

Synchronizing folders
I'm can setup my MSN e-mail accounts using the method mentioned earlier.
However, none of the my personal MSN e-mail folders show up for me.
They do if I set up the MSN e-mail using HTTP protocol (and use Adrian HTTPMail Provider) instead of POP3 protocol.
Does anyone know how to get the personal e-mail folders to show up and synchronize using POP3?

Will check it out. My apologies. Back to the subject... My 2 cents view is that you would have to offer some kind of top-up to entice anybody to agree to swap Cleo for Athena.

Well I know for sure Gmail stands for google mail. But i am yet to see an account using googlemail in full. They are simply Gmail. That screen shot you added just adds more confusion to the mix. Have you noticed that there is no . (dot) after googlemail....... If ouare right should it not be [email protected] and not [email protected]
i never noticed dot before just seen it after taking pic
you can make the account by going to google search engine and clcking mail.
some one has agreed

I can vouch that googlemail.com as email in full exists as I have one but mine is very, very private . I only use it for family matters so I will not do a screen dump proving that it exists because it sucks to have to prove to people things that are just there! Outside the USA and the Americas one would get a googlemail instead of a gmail right in the beginning, I don't know how long ago. I don't know what gives now.
It actually doesn't matter if you type googlemail or just gmail in the address, the email will get through either way.
Yea! I've never noticed that! But it is true.
it is true just tested it .it dosent make difference

Hotmail usp.edu account

So I go to school at USP (university of the sciences in philadelphia)
Just a quick question, I have a college university email that is ex: [email protected]
I log in through hotmail.com
Does my school have the ability to go through my email because it's an usp.edu account? Or they cannot because it's a hotmail account?
I have no idea, but who uses their school email for personal stuff? I'm glad I have it to receive discounts online.
The fact your asking this should hint at to not receive anything on that account which can put your education in jeopardy. Use your personal email address. And to answer your question, yes they can look.

Doesn't matter which "client" you use to view your emails, whether it's Outlook, Hotmail, or any other...all your emails still go through the Uni mail servers and are still able to be accessed the same way by the powers that be.

Why won't my emails work?

At first on the Note I used the Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail apps to get my emails rather than use the stock email program. I tried today to set up my yahoo email, made sure it was configured online for pop3 access yet on the Note when I go through set up and enter the email address and password I get an error saying incorrect email address or password which cannot be as they are correct.
Any ideas why this is happening?
other than making sure that you are typing the email address and password correctly.... i really do not have any argument to make. different yahoo address like .co.uk use different pop3 and smtp address. regular users need to subscribe to plus services.
Yes yahoo pop access is paid service, you need to subscribe plus service.
Juast try to use imap service in stock email application, not sure but may work. If you are not happy with yahoo mail appl, find seven 7.54 apk on xda, i have uploaded few time back, one of good n real push support for yahoo.

My OP3T is also sync with my office exchange for emails, contacts & calendars. When you want to call or send email, if you begin to type the contact name a live search is made on the exchange directory.

Thanks for your answer. May I know which email client are you using please?
I am using Gmail to sync with my exchange server and it seems to only search for my 500 contacts but not the exchange directory.
As for calls , do you mean once you key in the 1st few numbers it will begin to search for those in the exchange directory as well? Doesn't seems like mine is doing it though.

I also use Gmail email client with Exchange. Your personal contacts and suggested contacts address book are localy sync on your phone.
GAL sync is a contact provider, so the search work in all apps with the contact capability. GAL contacts are search online.
I am the Exchange sysadmin of my office and I already seen some issues like this. Exchange can handle a limited number of activesync devices (10 AFAIR).
Ask you Exchange sysadmin to clean your devices pairing, delete your Exchange account on your phone and add it again.
Hope that help.

Ho I forgot it. You can clean your devices yourself.
In a web browser, open your exchange account in Outlook Web App (exchange webmail UI) of your organization.
On the top/right open "Options" menu, and click "see all options". it will bring you in ECP (exchange control panel).
On the left you have a phone item, select one by one devices and the black cross (delete).
