Hi friends, i'm going to buy diamond, when it's get's available from next friday in India. I have been using only Nokia NSeries phones for past few years. I have backed up my sms since last 5years through Nokia Lifeblog software on to my Laptop.. The HTC Touch Diamond will be my first WM phone..
Is there a facility / Software by which i can archive my sms onto a PC from the diamond? Read in reviews WM / HTC can't do it..
Have liked so many features of WM, but this one is a crutial feature, i would be too glad if we can do it..
Thanks in advance..
I use Jeyo Mobile Extender with Outlook.
Regards,
Chiron
Thanks Chiron83.. I'll Keep that in mind..

Hello there,
I'm a previous WM device owner, last device was HTC Wizard.
I currently have a Nokia N95 and i'm planning to get the Diamond when its released on T-Mo in a few weeks.
I connect the N95 to the laptop a lot to get internet on the move, can anyone confirm if this is a featrure supported by the Diamond / WM 6.1
I don't recall having this ability on my Wizard, i have to be honest though.. with it being purely GPRS i would never have tried.
I appreciate this is a bit of a noobie question but i've been out of the Windows Mobile scene for a while so things have changed a little.
Thanks in advance.

There is a program that comes as standard in WM6.1 called "Internet Sharing" that allows this... T-Mobile might not though (in the UK, Web'n'Walk Plus/Max do allow tethering, the basic one doesn't though).
Hey l3v5y
Thanks for that, I'm on the W'n'W plus package, so thats all good
Thanks for the quick response!
I have just bought an HTC TYTN II, I would like to install the O2 Windows Mobile 6.1 ROM, I prefer the O2 ROM as all the settings are pre-programmed and the layout are as O2 expect them so I can call them for Tech support.
Unfortunately, I cannot access the file as I don't have the O2 version (the XDA STELLAR) and you need to enter your O2 XDA STELLAR Serial Number to access it.
Is there any kind person out there that might be willing to PM (message) me with a serial number of an XDA STELLAR that I could enter to get the file please.
Hoping someone can help me,
Thanks Folks,
wirralot
PS: Isn't the TYTN II / XDA STELLAR just the BEST phone ever!!
i would just put on a cooked rom from the many out there, first read the wiki about spl etc
the settings are on a automatic send once you install a new rom and turn it on,
as for tech help,i would say heres your guys use the search and you will be fine.
iam on o2 and its fine tryed many roms now and still ok.
TyTN IIs Connection Wizard/network will automatically set it up
The HTC branded TyTN II has a connection wizard which allows use on different networks and in different countries (especially useful if you're going overseas and want to use a PAYG sim for example. Also, as already mentioned, when you turn the phone on with your O2 sim already in it, the phone will automatically set itself up for your network - that's how it was with me and Vodafone. There's no need to go to the trouble of flashing your ROM and should you need any tech support, any instructions for the Stellar are likely to apply to the TyTN II as well. The few times I've spoken with Vodafone staff, their V1615 (vodafone branded version) feedback has helped (they even sent me a V1615 manual so I can compare the two).
ps yes it's the best ever as long as you have the WM 6.0 ROM and don't expect very good video playback!
Thanks for the input guys,
I should be receiving the pda in a day or too.
I believe it's on Windows mobile 6.1.
You say :" ps yes it's the best ever as long as you have the WM 6.0 ROM and don't expect very good video playback!"
Is WM 6.1 not a success for the Tytn II?
This is a great site, full of other people like me who couldn't live without their PDA!
Cheers Folks,
wirralot
O2 Wm 6.1 Rom
Here is a link to download the ROM. Its in the Kaiser Wiki, just scroll through the list and you will see it under HTC WM 6.1 ROMs.

I can only write with experience of the HTC branded TyTN II and their official ROMs here in the UK but IMO HTCs WM 6.1 upgrade for the TyTN II is more trouble than its worth. It introduced many bugs which I'd not noticed or experienced under WM 6.0. These included the default ring tones going silent unexpectedly, untidy file structure with WMP program files being where they shouldn't and of course GPS performance issues (which it appears are also plaguing its successor the Touch Pro). I wrote a multipage letter to HTC about bugs with their WM 6.1 upgrade and their handling of them so in short, no, I do not consider HTCs implementation of WM 6.1 a success (in its current state) on the TyTN II
Hello folks,
I just want to give feedback of my change to a new phone. My first WM phone was a Tytn followed by a Tytn II. The last year I tried to get the most out of the phone as i could. I call myself a poweruser doing all my stuff with the device. I used BlackBerry Connect in combination with WM 6.1 and so I could sync my malis, contacts and calender. In edn of 2008 i got completely fed up! I tried ALL the custom roms out there .. and I have to say all of them are better than the stock roms, but among them they are all the same, one with more bugs others with less.
In combination the Tytn II with Blackberry the system is to slow! Sorry to say that.
Now I use a Blackberry Storm, and I have to say I am not regretting it.
for me the main features are :
click touch display !!!!
speed
comfort
For all of you who might want infos from me dont hasitate contacting me !
For all who use the phone for private use I think the TyTn will be the better choice !
Hey guys,
I have a little problem. I did a bit of searching, but no luck in finding a solution.
Is there any way to access all info like contacts and sms on an AT&T Tilt with a completely broken screen? I would use pim backup, but all i see is a white screen with cracks through it.
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks!
Can you sync it with your PC? That would allow you to transfer the information.

One solution. I purchased it already and it came to me in one piece and i am satysfied. Sending is for free.
When I broke my screen I had the same problem. Quick fix is using http://mymobiler.com/ to control your phone through your pc.
To fix and replace the screen, I bought this one
http://www.fonlogix.us/ATampT-Tilt-LCD-Screen_p_70.html
Shipping was very fast. I bought the tool kit from the site also. Makes it 100x easier to open. I believe the total process took me about 45 minutes to take apart and re-assemble.
Good luck. Look on youtube for videos on how to take apart.
When my screen broke I sent it to these guys
jet city devices
They were startlingly fast. I received confirmation of delivery from them and within four hours they sent my fixed devices back out.
Great service. I'm not terribly happy with my kaiser anymore. Windows mobile is just too poorly constructed as an operating system. I don't regret fixing my phone. If I had opted for an iPhone (or at the time an unlocked hero) then I would have been another $500 in the hole.
Thanks guys!
U may install MyMobiler ant than u can see Your PDA screen on Your PC. It may help a little...
you can also try other programs:
SOTI Pocket Controller - to view and controll the PDA via the PC
or
Jeyo Mobile Companion - to directly open your contacts and sms data from the PC and copy them wherever you want
Try myphone from MS http://microsoft.com/myphone
Use with mymobiler to set it up
