?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

You may be flashing a G3 ROM to a G4 device. If you device can't even charge, then it is the case. It is a brick and not repairable by your own.

You could try buying a device from eBay with a broken LCD and using it's motherboard in your phone. All the Wizard models have the same motherboard. This is what I had to do when I bricked mine!

i need for JTAG
my device ic-flash is full out, and i must JTAG my device.
please help me about JTAG process and describ JTAG with pictures for me.
thank all

JTAG is still not achievable, its not possible yet.many have tried to do it.
Take my advice, sell it for parts and get a new device.
Mods ,plz close this thread.

Best way is to buy an broken LCD wizard from ebay or anyother site and then replace its LCD with your Wizards LCD, but try buying a G3 Wizard becoz its "Easy to Cook and Easy to Eat".

When you hapen to find a dead wizard, as you can read here, we need a mainboard from a dead wizard to reverse engineer the testpoints to use with a JTAG programmer. Finding these could save many dead wizards!!
So please contact us in the above mentioned thread when you find a dead wizard and have the mainboard to share.
PS. I am willing to pay shipment-costs for the mainboard (by paypal only!).

warranty issues

hey im new to the forums and just got my htc diamond and flashed the hard-spl mfg 1.24 i think on it, and then belite's english ROM. but does doing any of this void any warranty issues ? i got my htc in taiwan and got it from the telephone company. it has a two year warranty 1 year with the company and 1 year with htc or senao or something.
any answers would be helpful . or any links to past threads as i have no idea how to look XD.
Well ,
In a nutshell yes.
You can though , re SPL your device to the manufacturers supplied as simply as you SPL'd with the one you have.
There are loads of ROMS on here that are the shipped ones . My advice would be to download and save somewhere on your pc. Obviously if you have a hardware issue and still can use the device then reflash and then replace the original SPL. If however your unit is dead then this could pan out one of two ways . They will just replace your device and throw the other away which is good . Or they replace something power up and see that you have a diffrent SPL and then I think some questions would be raised. Including a bill .
When you say the device is dead, do you mean that it accidentally bricked during re-flashing/flashing ? But other than that, i can always revert the SPL and ROMs back to original, and they won't know that i changed it ? Thanks a ton for your help !
Edit: I think i downloaded the right ones from ChungHwa. Should I use ChungHwa's SPL and ROM or should I use the HTC ones ? I think they're different files in Taiwan, and that's where my warranty lies. My cousin (tore his Titan apart byte by byte) said that the HTC company could connect the Diamond to the main system and look through the sectors to determine any change or not. Would they go through all that trouble? And, would they be able to detect the foreign SPL or just see a change ?

Anyone who can help with this problem?

Hi all,
Since a week I can't use active sync, or acces my drive (Diamond Touch)
Battery charging as normal, I tried other mini USB cable, 3 computers, reinstalled active sync (4.5) Also tried different ROM's , hard reset. So I thought the connector is broken or something and went to a store where they repair PDA and stuff. The man told me that the connector was fine and his idea was the hardware port is damaged. Anyone who had the same, or maybe something else what can help me.
I guess I need T mobile Rom before I send it back for warrenty.
Thx in advanced...
can you access drive on the computer or on the phone as well?
Did you hard reset and clear storage as well?
Don't forget to put HSPL back as well if your sending it back
Hi thx for the reply, yes i can acces it on the phone, not computer. And yes i got the original from Tmobile( ugly skin!) Got download it with Wifi. so i guess im pretty save for the warranty.

USB hardware problem, warranty void due non standard spl: now what?

Unfortunately (or perhaps it is a good thing) i seem to be the first with this problem: my kaiser suddenly will not connect anymore via usb. I have been synching it for months, but all of a sudden it did not work anymore. I have come to the conclusion that the problem is the usb connector on the phone, some contacts inside might be damaged. It still possible to charge the phone. Connecting via bluetooth is also still possible.
I have come to the conclusion that this is a hardware issue this way:
I did not change anything on the phone or on the pc, the other day it just did not work anymore. I used another usb cable: same problem. I used another pc: same problem. I used another phone and connected that to the pc: no problem. When i connect the phone, normally the pc registers a USB connection/device and makes the familiair sound. It does not anymore. No icons apear and activesync keeps saying "not connected". I did the following things to try to solve the problem: i returned to the factory settings, i did a couple soft resets, i removed and reinserted the simcard. all to no effect.
I called HTC and since i am still within the warranty period they offered me to have it picked up by courrier and fixed within two weeks. The small catch is: i have a non standard rom, spl and radio on it and i unlocked my phone with the utility found on this forum. This situation voids my warranty according to customer services, eventhough the problem is hardware related. I have two questions i really would like anwsered:
1. Is it possible to return the phone to a state where HTC will not notice i "tampered" with it, thus allowing me to use my warranty and have it fixed for free? If so, how? (It is a Dutch HTC TytnII which i obtained with a "Hi" subscription)
2. What would you recommend me to do if 1. is not an option? If i have to pay the repair expenses myself, is there any estimate how much it will cost? Can i let HTC fix it or rather go find some electronics shop?
thanks for your interest!

I will answer your questions even though you are not the first, you are about the 10,000 th person with this problem, which you would have known had you searched first instead of starting a new thread first.
Yes you can return the phone to a stock state by flashing your stock rom back through your SD card. Unfortunately your stock spl can only be flashed back through a USB connection.
The expense involved in putting in a new usb plug is probably worth more than the phone at this point. I would keep trying new cables and other means. Take a magnifying glass and check your terminals. Some times they can become bent. Very gently make sure they are all straight.

Un-bricking a G3/G4 possible ?

I got to read all 1000+ posts on ways to un-brick wizard devices which are mainly intended for G4 users . And the claims that G3 never bricks. However I couldnt see an effective mean to un-brick it , there was an attempt that made it to sticky that should be realy removed as it failed and no one is interested in carrying on with it (a sad story realy , you have to read 200+ posts to get there).
Now the question is , what is a brick ?
a brick is a device that wont power up through any mean nutral or based on a back door (ex: Camera+Power , Send+Power , End+Power, Com+Speed Dial+Power.. etc) so to note , if your device can wake up at any of these methodes , it is not a brick. It would rather be fixed easily.
How would a device reach such state ?
Hardware fault , the device got physicaly damaged.
Software fault , the device lost its IMEI (the device serial number , would survive if corrupted only if IMEI figure is of same number of digits).
How would a device lose its IMEI ?
IMEI of wizard device is written within same memory that holds the SPL/IPL (device bios in pc language), which could easily be lost in case of flashing a G3 SPL/IPL on a G4 board since the memory address of the G4 IMEI is different to that of G3 and would be over-written by G3 SPL/IPL.
Would this happen to G3 devices too ?
It is rare since no G4 (SPL/IPL) roms are released except from carriers and they are very cautious at reviewing device ids (another name for IMEI when it comes to G4 cause G4 was specificaly designed to be a locked phone.
Then would a G3 be bricked ?
Yes , current alteration/failier during the writing phase of the SPL/IPL would lead to corruption of such memory. also faulty batteries can get the device there on the long run.
Can the devices be fixed ?
Ever heard of cloneing ? If you can clone 2 device memories then you can get it to un-brick as simple as that , only both devices are going to have the same IMEI which can be fixed later via IMEI changing utilities.
What's the problem then ?
How can you access the device if it wont even start ? there is a need to communicate with the device and at which , one thread suggested finding the test points of the mother board so that they would use it to write a valied IPL/SPL memory dump to the IPL/SPL memory.
So ?
This process relies heavily on true understanding of Wizard board and sad enough it has to be leaked and not acquired (not unless we are with an extra ordinary mentality)
Does this mean a brick is dead ?
Ok can you get the board replaced in a first / second / third party shop ? if so then you saved your self a load of hassel , as would you realy build up a cable interface ? and where would you get a valied memory dump ? and what software to use to communicate with a wizard board ?
So you see , the wizard is 7 years old now , and its hard to assume that such data would be leaked atm as it wasnt leaked back when the wizard was a star. so yes , too bad you will have to buy a board .. or there is someone who can prove me wrong .. cheers
