DeviceLock fails to completly lock all buttons - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Themes and Apps

Hi,
I have installed the DeviceLock http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=305402.
Unfortunately, it doesn't lock the phone completely, cause when I turn the wheel on my Tilt WM 6.1, the phone will turn on, although still locked.
I went to Settings -> Key Lock, but whatever I do, it always goes back to "Do not lock buttons".
Is there a way to fix that, cause when my phone is in my pocket I would like it to be completly locked while I'm talking on the phone.
Thanks

Device Lock

On my old XDA Mini S (Wizard) I used a tool called "Device Lock" to lock my phone. This was good because it would lock with whatever was open at the time, e.g. Pocket Memory Map, still open.
On my MDA Vario III the built-in lock (hold in the red phone button) puts the Today screen back on. Is there a registry hack that can stop this, or do I need to install a third-party like Device Lock again ?
Thanks

Do you mean the option on the home screen?
If you go to Start > Settings > Today and select the 'Items' tab it should be there, make sure it is ticked and that should restore it to the home screen. It isn't enabled as default on the Vario III (My version at least!).
The WM6 lock works just fine, but I would like it to lock with whatever is on the screen at the time continuing to be displayed whilst locked.
At the moment the lock will revert to the Today page and lock.
Sorry if I'm not being very clear!

BatteryStatus (and a few other) can do something like that. You power off the phone and when you power on again it locks automatically. And it will allow you to stay in whatever app is up on the display.
The disadvantage with BatteryStatus is that it will ALWAYS lock the phone at power on, even if the phone wakes up due to an incoming phone call. When you end the call, you have to unlock the screen first before you can hang up.
Thanks for replies.
I've got it to do what I want by installing Device Lock, then using AEBPlus to reassign a long press on the red phone button to it.

I can't turn off screen lock

Hello everyone,
Somehow I have inadvertently set my tilt to lock the screen whenever the screen turns off. I need to disable this, and I can't find a setting. I looked in Kaisertweak, and adjusted settings in settings>system>Key Lock.
I currently have fast sleep and sleep disabled in Kaisertweak, and I have Key Lock set to "do not lock buttons".
Whenever the screen powers off, it enables this mode so that when I turn it back on I have to press the left softkey, which says "Unlock", and then press the Unlock button on the screen.
The worst part is that this is a sudden mystery problem. I went to bed last night with a proper phone, and woke up to this. I've been searching the forums all morning trying to find the answer, but I'm not having any luck.
I'm running Dutty's latest 6.1 build.
Any ideas?
Regards,
Jeff
Okie Dokie, well, I found the problem.
I had inadvertently turned on the "lock on wake" feature of the batterystatus plugin.
I didn't even know that I had this.
Problem solved.
Jeff
thanks man.. I did the exact same thing yesterday and I didn't know how to fix this, until I read your post. I dont' even remembering checking that option in batterystatus. It's kinda weired. But thanks again..
My corporate MS Exchange Server automatically enforced the screen lock security to be used when I connected to the server for the first time. Everytime the phone goes to sleep I have to reenter the password to get access to the device. This is annoying and I would like to disable it somehow. Following the above information I went to the battery options advanced tab and disabled the option "Turn off the device if not used for...".
This seems to stop the lock screen after pushing the pwr buton on and off.
Does anyone know a better way to avoid the screen lock required by MS Exchange Server setting?

Lock Screen or put into "standby"? Best set-up?

Hey guys,
Right, I've come over from symbian, namely UIQ and the SE P-series, so am used to things being somewhat different. The main issue I don't seem to be able to find a solution to is the screen locking problem.
Essentially, at the moment I push the power button to lock the device, as well as enter a power save mode. I have to say, I like the way that works. However, when I recieve a call (or text with the reg fix) the phone comes to life, great, but say I miss the call, or the phone is in my pocket, the screen is now ACTIVE. Not good news.
How am I supposed to lock this device properly? Screen lock and then the power button? Can't I get a simple tap on the power button to lock and power save the device?
Essentially, if I have a missed call or message I just want the phone to vibrate once, then keep an LED flashing intermittently. But I want the screen to stay LOCKED.
Any help would be much appreciated, and thanks for all the other useful tips on the forum!
Cheers,
Daz.
Go start/settings/System/Long Press End Key
Select automatically execute etc
and Lock device
then OK
then, a long press on the hang up button (bottom right) will lock the phone.
Hope that helps
Perhaps I didn't explain myself. I know how to lock the phone, but how do I make use of the power button tap mode? In other words, the power saving mode?
Can I set up a button that locks the phone, AND sends it to power save mode? (or "turn it off" as WM seems to call it).
Thanks again,
Daz.
I found a regedit in:
HKLM\Software\HTC\KeyLock\SameAsDeviceLock
Set it to 1, but it doesn't do the trick. In fact, it now causes the power button click to not lock the keys.
I suppose the only option is to have standby mode come on after a timeout, lock the device, then it will go into standby on its own. Seems like a slight waste of battery to me!
Cheers,
Daz.
I really want this to work too,
It should unlock and turn on when recieving a call, it should just turn on when recieving an sms (so you can have a quick look from who it is, and then unlock to reply)
and when you lock the device it should automatically turn off...
Not EXACTLY what you want, but S2U2 in the "Development and Hacking" section will improve matters for you.
When you turn the phone off with the power button, S2U2 kicks in. Then:
1) If you turn the phone back on, you'll get the slide to unlock screen.
2) If a call comes in, the phone turns on and you see the caller ID (with full screen picture, if you so desire) on a "slide to answer" screen. The S2U2 default settings ensure that the phone turns itself back off again if you fail to answer it.
3) If a text / e-mail / mms comes through, it notifies you but remains off... When you hit the power button, the "slide to unlock" screen will show missed calls, text messages, e-mails (and even the weather if you want...).
Check it out, it's an essential piece of software in my opinion... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=381588
Thanks sub69, great recommendation. However, does anyone else get the bug when hitting the "x" in other applications to close them, the status bar (Or task bar) goes all scrambled and looks like the S2U2 status bar.
Shame this isn't built in though, would be nicer to see the TF3D interface rather than a 3rd party one.
Thanks again!
Daz.
Anyone with other suggestions? S2U2 is just a little too buggy at the moment on the diamond...
use "BatteryStatus" from www.chti-tai.info, they have a option for devicelock on wakeup, so even u missed a call, and the screen light up, it is still locked.
somone posted this on other thread.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now we don't need any devicelock software with diamond.
If you want automatic lock your diamond you have to change this registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\BackLight\AutoDevic eLockEnable from 0 to 1 and everytime your backlight goes off automatically your device are locked
Sorry for may bad english but i'm italian.
Ciao
Thanks for that reg fix, seems like a good option. There was a new S2U2 version release, 1.5, and that seems to work well for me. Will see how that goes for now...
Cheers guys! Daz.
the reg edit is good, but it doesn't solve the problem of unlocked touchscreen prone to being pressed during incoming call (when scrambling in your pocket to take out the phone)
btw there are several other threads where this problem is addressed and deeply analyzed (without a complete working solution, however...)
dazbradbury take a look at sensorlock, if you have not already.

low backlight on the keylock screen

Hi guys.
I'm fed up of having no backlight on the password screen, when using the lock function.
When i turn the kaiser on, it doesnt light up, until i type in the pin code and get back to the today screen, in the dark its a joke trying to see thescreen.
Any ideas?
Thanks
+1. This is a pain also when out in the sun. Is there any reg key or anything that as soon as you touch the 'Unlock' or 'Password' softkey you get the backlight on?
Function As Designed.
The Backlight turns off when the Phone is Locked. It goes to "sleep."
Try This. Start -> Settings -> Keylock -> "Do not Lock Keys" Then OK Lock your Device and Hit The OK or Green Phone Button and see if it lights up.
doesn't work.
i had the same problem (i had played wih "onlock" "auto lock" apps
well there is somewhere a reg key for the backlight and the duration how long the backlight should be on if phone is on lock mode and somebody touc the screen ....
hmm - maybe i found somewhere the reg key.

Devicelock without return to Today screen?

tI use the standard device lock that comes with WM.
However, it goes back to Today screen everytime after lock.
Can anyone tell me how to stay at the original screen after lock?
Thanks
HTC's LongPressEndKey
go to Settings/System/HTC LongPressEndKey...
i don't know how you can make it stay at the original screen: since WM5, afaik locking has taken you back to the home screen
When I want to lock the device I just give a short press of the button on the top - that switched the device into sleep mode, the screen goes off and all the keys lock. To do that go into settings/keylock and then choose under "when device is off" "lock all buttons except power button".
One short press again on the top button then wakes it up and switches it on and it comes back to the screen you were last in when you switched it off.
Is that what you want?

It's not really locked is it? You turn the phone on and it works as normal. Similarly with the screen lock, you just push 'unlock' that appears on the screen and it works as normal. What I need is the device lock as found in settings. I just need it on an icon in my programs list would be good enough.

You can try StylusLockPro special designed for locking/unlocking while a running application is active.
