At this point, i think we are all going to get 22....cause thats what i got as well.

I got 24.5 with sound off when I first installed it. After a fresh reboot and going straight to the app I got 25.1 (sound off as well).
On RyeBrye's blog (http://www.ryebrye.com/blog/2008/11/18/neocore-g1-opengl-showcase-posted/) there was a quote from a Google engineer stating: “this benchmark made us discover an issue with our GL stack… our graphics guy said we could almost double that number with the proper fixes." I'd certainly like to see that happen.

Another crack at an overclocking app?

For what it's worth...
no2chem has an app he's working on that suppose to overclock the TP to
800mhz.
http://www.nuerom.com/BlogEngine/post/2009/09/06/Touch-Pro-running-at-800MHZ.aspx
I'm not endorsing attempting to overclock anything. The last thing I ever overclocked what a celeron 300, to 450Mhz back in the day LOL, but, for you
hard core types, might want to head over there and read the thread. THE APPLICATION IS NOT AVAILABLE to download yet, I suppose he wants to really make sure your TP does not burst into flames, or cause a rift in the time space thingy
I read through the whole thing. It looks very promising, but is in its starting stages. Hopefully we can see something good come out of it. If we pick up a few hunderd MHZ, im sure it will greatly help the phone out.
Yeah, I've been following the thread also. If they can get it to work...I'm thinking it would be a trade off. Yes, I'll bet anything these chips are a bit underclocked, but, I'm also believing they are underclocked to remain stable.
Plus, anytime you run one over the specs, it just has to have a marked decrease in battery life, and it almost has to heat it up a bit. Those electrons can only run around inside that tiny package so fast before they heat up
I tried the app 2 times on my Fuze running 6.5 Energy Rom. Crashed everytime I tried to run the program. Gonna wait for the finished product to see how it turns out because the "test version" does not.
Ok so why in the world would anyone want to speed this little Gem up?
Running an energyrom i can run AD2P plus read a book or surf the net fine (hell ive even logged onto one of my webhosts from it) without any lag or speed trade off.
Isnt this just going to kill battery and heat the thing up?
you cant play games like quake and tony hawk with default speeds.. overclocking will enable u to play those games without a lag

Test Please

Would anyone be willing to run some tests for me please, I am interested in seeing what this device is like but cannot get my hands on one! The claims made earlier on were that the processor in these phones has 3x the graphics processing capabilities as the snapdragon... is this true? do you notice improvement? using divxrockplayer demo player are you able to run 720p mkv (i currently get 7 fps without reencoding for device on my incredible so im curious what that difference is) also what are bench scores from gl bench or Neocore and also mabey even try out some of the bench tests from here...http://www.typhon4android.org/androidbugs/droid2dtest-21/
these devices are really impressive from what ive seen but I cant believe the ARM Cortex A8 1GHz processor is THAT much better....
and to all of you who look at this and have a galaxy right now, im jealous u get to play with it lol.... thanks for any info you can provide

my Neocore result is 53.5
I suggest that before you post a new topic, please try to search & read other threads first.
You asked about 720p MKVs directly downloaded from the net, yes, the Galaxy S can play MOST of them, we experience problems with variable fps.

yea dude i love that phone
I'm at 2350 on the stock Bell 2.3.6 firmware.
Rooted and debloated but no overclock.
single core
This may be a stupid question not sure im pretty well versed in android anyway quadrant standard only shows one core on system info anyone know why? Is this normal?
Mine is 2332 running SteelDroid 4.0 with not a lot of debloat done to it.

Quadrant is pretty garbage imo. I keep seeing videos on youtube of 2 phones starting quadrant at the same time, 1 phone finishing 5-10 seconds ahead of the other but still losing the benchmark #'s with most results (fps in the testing) appearing the same. If it was decent the faster phone would always get the higher benchmark, 2 phones render 1k frames, phone 1 in 10 seconds, phone 2 in 20, fps on phone 1 must be higher... etc etc I'd try maybe smartbench or glbenchmark

I've started using antutu benchmark since it breaks the score down and allows you to run custom tests

If you're looking for other benchmark apps with other numbers I found this thread where a user posted a list of benchmarks on an optimus 3d (basically same hardware as our phone) after installing an optimus 2x performance tweak. Good for the list of benchmarks and numbers for you to compare, thread is here

Apples to apples

My buddy got a Droid DNA the other day. I immediately snatched it up to check it out. What a screen!
Anyway...ran a couple benchmarks and was AMAZED!
Quadrant = 8085
BenchmarkPi = ~280
0.0
Our phone's guts are the same! My Nexus 4 is even overclocked and doesn't come CLOSE...
Just out of curiosity...how is it that my rooted, ROM'd, overclocked Nexus gets its teeth kicked in by a stock Droid DNA?

Does it really matter? I don't know about your n4 but mine has zero lag and handles every app and game I have thrown at it with ease. Benchmark scores mean nothing compared to actual use and performance. Dont worry about scores and enjoy your 4.2.2 phone.

That was quick. Yes, I love my phone, yes it runs extremely well, yes benchmarks aren't perfect.
Now that we got that out of the way...
Wrong section, also the Droid DNA screen is incredibly saturated screen..way more then the N4 thats for sure.

I mean no disrespect, I just don't understand all the infatuation with benchmark scores. If a phone has zero lag and handles everything one could ask beautifully then why does it matter if it scores low?

quadrant runs bad on n4, no one seems to know why (prob 4.2.2 reason, 4.1.x seems ok). dunno about pi test.
try antutu, it's recently updated and not built for over year old chipsets. you will see your n4 runs fine

quadrant hasnt been updated for years. using quadrant is like using a car from 60's and complaining the heater doesn't heat fast. use antutu and see what you get on both phones.

You don't need to understand; OP wasn't directing his post at anyone in particular. Just like MPG, 0-30/60/1/4 mile times, HP, and torque ratings in car reviews help people compare different car models, benchmarks in mobile devices help people make similar comparisons. That's why noted review sites like GSMArena and Anandtech devote 1/3 of their 10+ page reviews to performance benchmarking. I totally agree that if a device's performance meets someone's needs that’s more important than benchmarks. But I also feel performance benchmarks, just like audio, display brightness/contrast, and camera tests serve a legitimate purpose. I've found people that don't like benchmarks are usually device owners on the wrong side of them. Clearly HTC did a better job of optimizing their s/w for S4 Pro than either Google or LG did which, to OP's point, is why the DNA benchmarks so much better. In another thread someone said individual user s/w influences benchmarks. Most of them are low-level tests or use emulators (Sunspider) so what's running (or not) on the device won't influence the result. It is what it is.
Here are some comments from Anandtech talking about the Optimus G's less than steller benchmark performance. It's not due to S4 Pro but it doesn't really matter because the net result is what people experience using the device. Great performance which benchmarks measure takes a combination of s/w and h/w as shown by the DNA comparison OP's made.
Sunspider is lightly threaded and thus doesn't see huge scaling going to four cores. In fact, in this case we're not seeing any real improvement over the dual-core Krait based devices from HTC. It's unclear how much of the Optimus G's performance is due to LG's browser/software stack vs. the underlying hardware.
BrowserMark doesn't look great and the Optimus G's performance is almost certainly due to LG's own browser code. Qualcomm's reference software stack can provide great performance, but it's up to the individual OEM to take advantage of it.
ooooh it has big numbers ...
HTC will always be laggy running sense!!!

OnePlus cheating Benchmark apps!!!

it's reported that on a test on the 3T it was discovered that OnePlus now targets benchmark apps by name so it scores higher , that's not good to be honest, the device is solid and rational users don't need this, I admit it's nice to test and see your device high up the ranking but only when it's done organically ,
that said this appears to only be introduced on the N Roms (including betas)!

im on oneplus 3 so i dont really care.

it's a software thing not a device thing, the N rom has the "feature" so it affects both 3 and 3T...
not saying the phone is bad, i love, i'm saying it's not needed... some companies did so in the past, but it's now over so why do it, the OnePlus brand in general wasn't built on Benchmarks.

403 error when i click that link
Yeah just read the article I was annoyed that oneplus would be involved In something so stupid when this phone is an awesome device, I don't see what they would have achieved from even doing that.
People do this all the time themselves. It's the same as "intelligent" profiles that switch depending on application and load.
If this happens for games then whats the big deal? People say it should work for all apps but i dont want my cpu going through battery just because I have my clock app open. Sure there should be a setting for it but still they see this app as a power hungry app so they give it juice, any other app which doesn't need this power just doesn't need it.

The difference in performance is very small with these cheating tweaks. Personally I don't really care about the cheating at all, I love this phone and it's features and performance.
I haven't installed a benchmark app in years and not about to do it now. I'm only interested in real world performance.
This is one reason why people don't trust Benchmark scores.
People put way too much importance on benchmarks anyway... They are largely meaningless, but you see dozens of threads of people trying to tweak kernels and all sorts of stuff, to get an arbitrary score in a meaningless app because they think it gives them bragging rights.
Benchmarks are for kids. Real world results are for adults.
Check out op's explanation on that
Seriously? What about i-creap? How can that i-**** could be nr.1 in benchmark?!?
If our devices are effectively overclocking to achieve better benchmarks, sooner or later the OS will have to turned down the SoC as the temperatures will get too high if the benchmark is ran over and over again.
If you want to know the true benchmark of your OP3, I suggest running it over and over.
is this thread necessary?
lel for this type of discussion.
