To have in mind: Three eclipses in a month
The world will witness a rare astronomical event- a series of triple eclipses starting July 2009. The fist in the series of triple eclipses will be a lunar eclipse on July 7 which will be followed by a solar eclipse on July 22 and then a lunar eclipse on August 6.
I hope i will wake up early to see it!!! lol....
I've been fortunate enough to be in the track of a total eclipse before (Aug 99 in Cornwall, England) and it's definitely one of those events that you remember for the rest of your life.
I hope our Asian friends have clear skies and the time to fully appreciate the changes in the environment as the eclipse progresses.
Roll on 20 Mar 2015.
So, did anyone experience this awesome event? pics?

Ahh!! i was far asleep as against i hoped. **** missed the event!!!
I've heard on the radio here in England that some people feel eclipses bring bad luck or ill health.
Would anybody sensible, in the 21st century, miss this incredible marvel of nature through fear or superstition?
Wow!
I´m amazaed about reading this.
Here in México is completly oposite, prehispanic cultures saw eclipses as a very special events that make a positive influence on live!
Apocalypto
If you saw that movie... they think that the eclipse is the way about one of the gods that maya's believe in, feel happy and satisffied with sacrifices... that horrible things ceased to the population...
Amazing isnt it?
And now we will wait for the align of the planets... maybe some magnetic chaos could happend, alerts has been talknig about here and there about that.

Whos watching it tonight?
Also, fun fact:
It is the second of two lunar eclipses in 2010. The first was a partial lunar eclipse on June 26, 2010. It will be the first total lunar eclipse to occur on the day of the Northern Winter Solstice (Southern Summer Solstice) since 1638, and only the second in the Common Era.

Two pictures I've gotten tonight so far at midnight and one am respectively. I'll add more here if I remember.
Another fun fact is that you should be able to see the ursids meteor shower tonight. It's only visible because of the eclipse.
EDIT: Added the pics taken from 2 am and 2:30 am. Resized them and tweaked them for better image quality.
Ok, i froze my ass off but it was worth it. Ill put my photos up when i wake up.

I know how you feel. I'm in South Louisiana in the US. During the day these past few weeks it's been 21C (70F) or warmer. Tonight it was 10C too. Sooooo cold!
I couldn't get the light to filter properly on the fist picture from midnight. I'm actually surprised how well mine came out though. It's over now, so I'm off to bed.
Haha 10C is cold.
I was in NYC in -8C.
I'll post my shots when I get to them.
Cheers Orb. Thanks.
I wish I knew when it had been -_-
Yes it was one of a kind natural event I´m glad had the chance to see
Way too cold outside...could not get a sharp shot because of the wind/crappy tripod.

Yea, wind and the moon being dark towards the end messed me up. And the smog from nyc.
Very nice pics, everyone. It was too cloudy here so I missed out. Have pics from the last eclipse but still bummed I missed this once in a lifetime event.
Weather was favourable too... About -15C. Warmed up a but in the last week or so and each night perfectly clear up until last night.

Its our 11th anniversary on the 15th so there`s nothing left to get, I`ll have to make a trip to Tesco`s, I really know how to spoil it, I mean her..
As for anything planned, jaysus, I`ll probably end up having a choke with me yolk a few times and then get her to have a go, then sleepy time........looking forward to the 12th!!!!!?????
Just a commercial strategy to take out more money from your pockets...
If you love her/him make Feb. 14 everyday!

Well, I'm actually not that far in the relationship with this girl but if I was I would let her decide what we should do during the day (shopping or whatever she wants to do). At the evening I would prepare a delicious homemade dinner with starter and dessert, give her a massage and probably suffer through a romantic movie (I would concentrate more on the cuddling with her than the story though)
I would probably also give her some jewelry at the dinner if I could afford it but... I'm a student ^^
We don't do Valentine's day.. because we are cheap like that

From my estimates, the "geek" subspecies of humanity will be extinct by 2060-ish.
Only 2 are prepared for this event, while the rest are unprepared or even unaware of the existence of said event.
I haz sad...
I procrastinated, didn't get anything, just told her I'd take her to the book store. She was happy. She got me the BBC Planet Earth on blu ray.
I met a girl on the cruise ship I was on for the last 4 months. She's still there... looks like I'm off the hook? lololol
seems like i was the only one voted 'maybe' .
haha i wonder what would happen I still got 35 minz of V's day here.
spent almost half the weekend making some sort of valentine's day videos for youtube and actually 'failed to advertise' it cuz I dont have a girl

Mate - I've not listened to the album yet (just downloading it), but I had a look the the video for "Take This Underground" and it is awesome!!! I don't get into London that much, but if I do and you're playing I'll definitely come along.

Edit: Okay, so I've heard most of the album so far and it's REALLY good!
Edit: Okay, so I've heard all the album now and I'm blown away. One of the best new things I've heard in a long time. MORE!!!
This is actually really good. And I'm surprised that I like it, because I'm usually not a fan of British Alt. Rock stuff. But, I top my hat to you and your bandmates, this is pretty awesome sounding!
P.S. > Are you the singer, or guitar, or drums, or bass, or anything else..? lol.
P.P.S > I just downloaded the album! and of course made my FB status the predetermined/written one that you guys made! Hopefully you get some new fans!
Hey guys, thanks for the kind words I really appreciate it.
I'm the bassist in the band. I'm also the Producer/engineer of the album (plus backing vox, programming, keys, extra bass and other instrumentation) ha!
If you really like it, the full version is out on the 15th - hopefully we'll have another vid or so up soon.

For those of you who are on Daylight Savings Time anyway. (Feel free to put them back if you're not but don't blame me when you're late for everything).
I almost forgot again which could have led to some embarrassment. Personally i think DST is a ridiculous and pointless exercise which should be scrapped. Time is immutable. Stop screwing with it!

Daylight Savings Time.
In America the clocks get adjusted to fit the seasonal change in daylight hours.
It's because some jobs are dependent upon hours of daylight, so instead of just waking up earlier, we go to all the trouble of changing our clocks by an hour twice a year.

DST does not apply to most countries that are close to the equator, as the length of the day does not change much from Summer to Winter.
Singapore (Montoyatok's location) happens to be one of them, although DST did apply once.
P.S. If you are in the U.K., some banks shut their ATMs down over this period, (1 to 2 am, Sunday) to stop the transactions being screwed up by the time change. Progress!
Its daylight saving time not savings fyi

There are a lot of people that want to stop doing it, me included. But then all of these parents start screaming "think of the children". They are afraid that their urchins will get run over if it is dark out when they are waiting for the school bus.

That's what happens when you live on a Gas Giant.
Actually, there are some energy benefits to DST. It allows us to consume less barrels of oil for energy with the clocks rolled forward. Now if we get greener energy sources in the US, then I'm all for scrapping it...

Showing my age here, but any Brits remember the experiment from 1968 to 1971 when the UK remained on British Summer Time all year?
In Northern England we went to school in the dark, in Scotland it was even worse, the dark lasted longer. We had to wear stupid PVC tabards with reflective panels front and back, that nearly made you pass out from the fumes from the plastic.
It ran for two years before they ditched the idea.
that sucks i work nights and work this weekend i better get paid for that extra hour

Remembrance Day (also known as Poppy Day or Armistice Day) is a memorial day observed in Commonwealth countries since the end of World War I to remember the members of their armed forces who have died in the line of duty. This day, or alternative dates, are also recognized as special days for war remembrances in many non-Commonwealth countries. Remembrance Day is observed on 11 November to recall the end of hostilities of World War I on that date in 1918. Hostilities formally ended "at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month," in accordance with the Armistice, signed by representatives of Germany and the Entente between 5:12 and 5:20 that morning. ("At the 11th hour" refers to the passing of the 11th hour, or 11:00 a.m.) World War I officially ended with the signing of the Treaty of Versailles on June 28, 1919. [1]
The day was specifically dedicated by King George V on 7 November 1919 as a day of remembrance for members of the armed forces who were killed during World War I. This was possibly done upon the suggestion of Edward George Honey to Wellesley Tudor Pole, who established two ceremonial periods of remembrance based on events in 1917.[2]
The red remembrance poppy has become a familiar emblem of Remembrance Day due to the poem "In Flanders Fields". These poppies bloomed across some of the worst battlefields of Flanders in World War I, their brilliant red colour an appropriate symbol for the blood spilled in the war.

Remember, remember!
The fifth of November,
The Gunpowder treason and plot;
I know of no reason
Why the Gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot!
Guy Fawkes and his companions
Did the scheme contrive,
To blow the King and Parliament
All up alive.
Threescore barrels, laid below,
To prove old England’s overthrow.
But, by God’s providence, him they catch,
With a dark lantern, lighting a match!
A stick and a stake
For King James’s sake!
If you won’t give me one,
I’ll take two,
The better for me,
And the worse for you.
A rope, a rope, to hang the Pope,
A penn’orth of cheese to choke him,
A pint of beer to wash it down,
And a jolly good fire to burn him.
Holloa, boys! holloa, boys! make the bells ring!
Holloa, boys! holloa boys! God save the King!
Hip, hip, hooor-r-r-ray!
I hope we all had our 2 minutes silence at 11am, watched it on the TV here. Google has a nice little poppy too.

Remembrance Day isn't related in any way to Guy Fawkes. That particular commemoration was November 5th. Remembrance Day is the 11th, although the Sunday after is when people usually gather at memorials. This year the two coincide.
