It was always working. But now when I connect it to the PC. Only battery charging, no usb device recognized (nothing will show in my computer). I have tried different PCs, all are the same.
And if I boot into Hardspl four color screen, usb can be found. So I flashed different Radios and Roms, even latest stock WM6.1 ROM. Still the USB only works in SPL but not Windows Mobile Interface.
I think it maybe a software problem. But since it is now with stock WM6.1 and Radio, what can I do further?
Thanks!
try to disable "Enable faster data synchronization" under the USB to PC settings and try again.
the USB to PC settings are usually in Start->Settings->Connections.
other than that, i can't think of much else but i'm certain someone else can come up with some more suggestions.

Thanks! I have tried that already after searched over google and xda. But it doesn't work. No usb device show up when I connect the Kaiser. Only battery charging.
Does spl USB mode use different pins from Activesync? Forgot to say, I flashed Hardspl with force-usb.
Maybe like this, the USB port detects PC host before it activate USB function. In spl, the "force-usb" gets the USB port always activated.
changing the radio isnt going to make a blind bit of difference, although stating which rom you flashed and what windows version (PC) you are using might!
If its xp totally uninstall active sync and download the latest version from microsoft and install that
If its vista then download the latest version of WMDC and install that
also after flashing the rom, as soon as you have aligned the screen and customization has completed soft reset and when it reloads go and clear storage.
Did you have a biug storage rom installed before it failed to connect to USB?
Thats about all i can suggest till you supply more info
Thank you for those suggestion. I thought flash new roms will automatically hard reset the Kaiser. I will try to use "clear storage".
The rom I last used is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=533617
Before I flashed this rom, usb worked fine.
The problem is no device shown in Windows device manager, not even unknown device. Just like nothing has been plug into the USB port. But same cable and port work with another X1
i'm having the same problem as well after flashing b16b rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3996365&postcount=826
anyone have the solution ? even i chg the spl and flash the stock rom my activesync still won't functioning..the usb port only able to charge the battery only
I would check your pins in the charging port and make sure you can see 5 pins on top and they are not bent

Hi to all,
i wanted to flash my radio rom to 1.50 but each time i put pda to boot mode it is always writen Serial not USB. I tried to flash it from SD card but it does flashing but when i reboot it is still old radio rom. Then i changed usb cabel and in boot mode it gives me USB connection.
I bought new one (1.8m long and tried it, again it gives me Serial. Tried several cables same story. Is there difference in usb cables?
So if you can not do hardspl, if it gives you error 260 and no usb in white part of boot screen just try other usb cable.

You don't happen to use Vista, do you? In case you do, read here!
...and I've told you to read the guides because flashing from the SD Card works in every case, if you make the procedure right (have HardSPL installed and you do it the way described here.)

this is not my first time to flash pda and i am not using vista.
It was my experience that wile i was in bootstarp screen (tricolor screen) while changeing several usb cables, with 3-4 of them it gave me only Serial connection but whith only with one of them it gave me USB connection on white screen and i could flash radio rom. Strange thing is thaht i can do synchromization with all of them. I tried it also on other computer with XP.
Maybe is something with my pda.
Oh yes i ahave hardspl 1.30.

OliPro 1.30 has been reported with some issues, maybe that's why you can not flash with SD Card. I'd say to install Des' Crash Proof SPL but then you can not flash because of USB issue.
I have similar problem, need to first put the pda in booloader mode.
After that my usb connection is somehow stalled and the pda shows a serial connection.
Then i either have to reboot the computer or use another usb bus, to get the pda connected with usb.. Has nothing to do with the cables, but the fact windows is winblows.... (xp in my case).
Perhaps this is another issue tho..
Br Fredrik
I can do flash with one cable it is working fine.
Why do you recommend Des' Crash Proof SPL. What is difference from hardspl? Except maybe less issues ?
this made my day and allowed me to flash in vista (twice) without breaking a sweat!

I've reading some FAQs and Wiki articles before make this question.
Last weekend my Kaiser crashed into the floor (a very very very soft fall) and the battery jumped out the phone.
I put the battery, and in the first boot.... Ooops!! Tricolor screen showing:
"Hardspl 3.29
Serial "
There is a quick splash screen showing "No image file".
I've tried to boot several times, and i get into OS once, but the pda works so slow.
Solutions that i've tried:
a) MMTY prompt. Boot command doesn't work and i dont know the "boot command" for Hardspl 3.29. Anyway, i dont want to mess with MMTY and get a brick...
b) When i get into OS i tried to connect via Activesync (to reflash Hardspl) but...
After JumpSPL I get "Jump Tricolor Screen"
I unplug usb, uncheck "USB Connections", plug USB... but KaiserKustomRuu doesnt work! It closes after executing it. (The day that i flashed hardspl 3.29 i did it the same way, and everything went ok)
What can i do?
Please help!!!
(I dont care loosing data, i only want recover the pda)
EDIT:
Hi there.
Finally i did this:
- Re-flash HardSPL 3.29 (via MicroSD)
After that, OS always booted (WM 6.0 Official HTC)
However, Activesync does not work. When i plug the usb cable, the battery begins charging and activesync runs on PDA and Pc, but PC says that connection is not possible. I've tried with 2 or 3 computers with same results.
(Allow usb connections is marked)
Also, all the OS gets so so so slow when usb cable is plugged.
Then i did:
- Hard Reset to back default WM 6.0 official ROM
* No way. ActiveSync does not connect.
- Flashing a cooked Rom (WM 6.5 spanish) and a new radio (from 1.27.12.32 that i always used with WM6.0 to 1.70.19.09)
* No way. No i have Hardspl 3.29, WM 6.5 spanish cooked rom, and 1.70.19.09 radio. Everything seems to be ok...except for Activesync.
Please...help....
EDIT 2:
Ok.... i've tried to access MTTY prompt but it was impossible.
When i plug the USB cable i get an error in the computer (device not recognized), but PDA screen changes between "serial" and "usb".
After 20 or more tries i got into MTTY prompt, but that was the last time until now.
So... i think that mi usb port is broken ( is not the cable or the computer, i used some cables and computers)
I've tried to move the usb connectors with a pin, slowly, and i have cleaned evertything, but nothing happens.
What may i do?
How can i check my flash/nand to check errors? Of course, i need to check it but not using USB !
USB port is charging the battery, and windows attempts to install the device (Windows mobile device, as says) but the installation is not finished.
So you are unable to use activsync at all on your phone?

Hi there.
Yes, i am unable to use activesync from OS.
Draelee, i will check that thread, thanks.

UPDATED the first post.
Is my PDA - USB port broken?
I hate to tell you this.. But a work around could be to Activesync via Bluetooth... Now a days you can get a USB Bluetooth dongle for $5 or sell... My stepsons USB port is so broke that he has 3 batteries and a stand alone battery charger.. he jsut swaps batteries when it dies... He syncs via bluetooth and has no problems....
So, once you have read the entire post...
Do you think in a software or an hardware problem?
Bluetooth sync is a good option, but i would like to investigate a little.
I've reflashed HardSPL, ROM and RADIO but i think that there are more bad data sectors.
How can i check my flash/nand to check errors? Of course, i need to check it but not using USB !

Try flashing an Android ROM
Hi,
I had the same problem on my phone for about 6 months. I completely gave up on it. A few days ago I successfully flashed an Android ROM to NAND but ended up flashing back to WinMo. Surprisingly my USB activesync / headset adapter started working again!!
I'd give it a shot if I were you. Worked for me

1) To be ultimately sure, take out everything that is connected on all USB ports (and I mean, ALL) EXCEPT your Xperia. Also, uncheck the "Advanced Network Functionality" of ActiveSync.
2) If you have the same problem after following my advise, change to another USB port. Try every single port.
3) If you still get disconnections, try another computer (or laptop).
4) Problems still persist? then check your USB cable itself (or the USB ports) if it is faulty.
I have a problem with the diamond and needs to change ROM/SPL and other stuff, but it won't recognize that the phone has been plugged in. I have tried 5 different USB cables and 3 different computers. I don't have HTC warranty. I've done 5+ hard-resets.
Please help.
First, what OSes? For instance: win 7 doesn't recognize the phone if it tries to connect in active sync mode.
I've always used windows xp, in the past it worked.
hi,
try to connect your htc twice : my computer does not recognize my htc at first plug but when I retry in less than 1 minute, my htc displays popup menu and I can choose USB/active sync, I click done and then my computer recognizes it. I don't know if it will work with your device but you can try that ^^
Thanks for the suggestion,
I've already tried that a lot of times, nothing doing.
ok, did you try to change the status of your usb connexion ?
I mean : settings>connections>usbtoPC> then try these 4 combinations together :
- enable faster data synchronization (try both modes on/off)
- ask me about usb connection type (try both modes on/off)
I can get into bootloader, but never know that you could flash ROM in there. Is there a guide?
Also, I have a problem with a flickering screen that some threads here suggest changing SPL version to fix. Is it possible to change SPL using bootloader?
I just downoaded WM6.5 to my phone and did a ROM flash from internal storage, but USB still has problem & flickering screen still there. I need to be able to change the HardSPL w/o connection to the computer.
Is it possible to load some of the .exe in the HardSPL package and run it on the phone?
Someone help,
Thanks
Perhaps it's simply due to your PC firewall ?? Deactivate it and try to plug your htc again...
the problem is that my the computer doesn't connect with the phone via the USB cable.
just try to disable your PC firewall before connecting your device.
sorry I cannot find CustomRUU.exe on this forum, i did find DiamondCustomRUU.exe on the wiki. However, the interface for it is the same as the RomUpdateUtility.exe, which requires activesync connection.
I did proceed anyways by entering bootloader(Voldown + softreset) and run the utility -> nothing works. Then I try the USB trigger mode (Voldown + back + softreset) and run the utility -> nothing works.
I am tempted to put the HardSPL in the internal storage and rename it DIAMING.NBH and flash it but I do not know the consequences.
Thank you for your replies,
I'd appreciate more help
i am looking to change roms from cm7.
my phone charges ok when i link it to my laptop via USB but the computer doesnt recognise the phone as a storage device. i therefore cant access the sd card to install a new rom.
i was considering reflashing one of the gingerbread stock roms but my phone isnt even being recognised by odin when put into download mode?
can anyone help me find a solution to this. I have searched online effortlessly for an answer and tried various things such as changing cable; ive uninstalled device drivers and reinstalled them again; ive done a factory reset on phone and re-flashed rom with no success. My phone has never had this problem before until i installed cyanogen.
any help would be greatly appreciated!!
I was on CM7 without any issues... but try a few things.
- You do need a USB cable capable of data, not all are....
- USB option in phone settings set to Mass Storage and once you plug the phone in, pull down your phone notification bar and make sure you select to TURN ON mass storage
- if all that is not working, sign up to drop box FOR FREE http://db.tt/lZuhJtfB , also install the app on your phone, and you can transfer files from your computer to your phone... this will just let you change your ROM
If odin is not recognizing your phone... to me it sounds like your cable is not a data cable or you do not have the proper drivers... install KIES to get the drivers installed... other then that ODIN should always work...
thanks for your reply.
its def a data cable. i did try re-installing keys and i also reinstalled the necessary device drivers with no success.
can i load other roms over cyanogen or do i need to revert back to stock first. i have no way of reverting back to stock. i dont think any of the ICS roms are stable enough to installl one of them
also how do i access the USB option in phone settings - i had looked for this sort of setting on phone but couldnt find it
I believe you will need odin to get back to a samsung firmware....
The USB option is usually under wireless and networks I think...
I'm on AOKP and find it more stable then some of the CM7 stuff I was on.... maybe worth a look for you if you aren't happy what you are on.
http://www.AOKP.co
also see my SIG, I switched to glitch kernel, and I am so far impressed.
