Hey.
My N1 comes tomorrow and I will be using my Orange 3G SIM. Will the 3G signal work with the N1? Curious to find out as I have read some people saying it does and doesn't.
thanks in advance.
Had a look for the frequencies.
United Kingdom GSM 900/1800
not 100% sure, but It should work.
It'll work - UK uses 900/2100 for 3G (UMTS/HSxPA) like the rest of Europe. The N1 supports 900 / 1700 (AKA: AWS, used by TMobile in the US) / 2100.
GSM is 2G, so citing those frequencies doesn't answer the question. The N1 is a quad-band GSM phone and will support GSM/GPRS/EDGE (all 2G) nearly anywhere.
Thanks guys. I received my N1 this morning, rooted it, flashed HTC Sense on it and I love it
3G works fine, had my Nexus when they first came out.
can you give me your APN details? it won't work for me.

Should work fingers crossed this is what I put in on mine, I was surprised that the Nexus didn't find them automatically.

Hello all. Since I often seach about BellMobility-specific issues (and, frankly, never really find what I need), I'm starting this thread to sort-of give the BellMo clients a beacon of hope for their carrier-specific questions. So let's do this
-----
Q: I have a grandfathered Fun15 plan (the one with Voicemail, CallerID, 500 S/M-MS, Unlimited Mobile Browser [sorta means Unlimited Data]) on an old CDMAphone. Will it transfer over to a SIM and work?
A: In the author's case, it worked. I went to a brick-and-mortar store to do the first switch from CDMA to their 3G/HSPA network, mind you.
-----
Q: What's the APN configuration for their network?
A: Author's case, Fun15 pack:
Name: Bell
APN: pda.bell.ca
Proxy: web.wireless.bell.ca
Port: 80
MMSC: http://mms.bell.ca/mms/wapenc
MMS Proxy; web.wireless.bell.ca
MMS Port: 80
MCC: 302
MNC: 610
APN Type: default,mms
Some people use pda2.bell.ca . Q for them: is your data connection stable?
-----
Q: What's the operating frequencies of Bell's (3G/HSPA W-CDMA) network?
A: 850/1900/2100 mHz. For reference, it's what AT&T (USA) and Rogers (Canada) use for their Non-Edge/GPRS networks. You could get AT&T's Aria functioning easily here.
-----
Q: Does Bell have a classic GSM network to fall back on?
A: Nope. WCDMA 3G/HSPA only, no Edge/GPRS classic network like Rogers.
-----
Q: What's the best configuration for the data options in the RIL?
A: Frankly, I don't know, and I'd like to know because i get disconnected way too often for it to be normal. That, or their network sucks. Anyone up to answer this one?
-----
Bell clients, please contribute whatever you can (Including, but not limited to, negotiation tactics)
I plan on getting a Tmobile sim card and tossing it in my Vivid, getting the $30 a month plan and using it till I get a different phone.
Any chance I can use 3g or 4g on it? I've heard mixed answers about it being possible as recently Tmobile "flipped their network" or something like that. Just curious if it as ALL possible to get 3g or 4g data on mah vivid. Thanks

In case you still need help, here is what I suggest:
For the unlock, use unlockusa.com to get your code. They're the fastest and most reliable on the market.
For the internet, use the following settings for your APN (Credits: http://htcsource.com/2012/08/how-to-sim-unlock-the-htc-vivid-and-add-t-mobiles-access-point/) :

Enjoy your cool phone !
I hope that helps. It worked for me, as I was having the same issue.
Hey guys,
I switched over to Virgin yesterday on the "Gold" plan for 60$/month. (I don't see the word "LTE" anywhere on my account.. is that an issue?)
Brought in my own phone the i9305.
I live in Ottawa, however I can not get LTE for the life of me. Even traveled well around the city today, and no LTE just HSPA.
SIM card is red with white LTE lettering on it.
APN settings:
APN: pda.bell.ca
Proxy: web.wireless.bell.ca
Port: 80
Username: <Not set>
Password: <Not set>
Server: <Not set>
MMSC: httpeditedsoicanpost.mms.bell.ca/mms/wapenc
MMS proxy: web.wireless.bell.ca
MMS port: 80
MMS protocol: WAP 2.0
MCC : 302
MNC : 610
APN type : <Not set>
(tried Virgin's mobile settings, however I can't send MMS with Virgin APN settings)
phone is obviously unlocked.
The only thing I can think of is that the 2600 Mhz lte band hasn't been deployed yet in Ottawa, so my phone can't pick it up, until that switch is made over. Thoughts? I AM living in the coverage area where the 150 mbps service is being offered.
We can't help you in this forum...you need to post in the i9305 q&a
Thread moved to proper forum.

Weird issue but it's a small chance that is a modem / CSC related. If you have root access, than reboot into recovery and use this https://www.dropbox.com/sh/qnj68mzs8h3rhk6/qZESHfTord. It'll change your CSC to BMC, is a Canadian Bell HD VOICE should be enabled as well
If this doesn't help, try to change modem...
Thanks for the reply. I reprovisioned the account, changed a new LTE sim, and flashed the HD voice options (you took care of that for me in your thread, thanks)
Still no LTE.
Will try some modems tonight.
A question no one can answer (virgin tech support, or their techs ) does the bell (virgin) lte frequency support this phone, on lte .
Thanks guys.

Tried a bunch of modems, and no LTE.
Grr..... Tech support knows nothing. They can't even say does bell/virgin currently have the 2600 lte frequency activated?
Just an update on this:
Heres what I figured out after A LOT of research!
Rogers/Fido LTE band is on 2600 mhz plus another band. LTE works stock on the i9305, in Ottawa, Toronto, and wherever there is coverage.
Bell/Virgin LTE band is 1700 and they are rolling out on a new frequency 2600. LTE works on this band (2600) with the i9305. I have to be with Virgin so that it works at the cottage. So if you are with Bell/Virgin LTE will work in Toronto(verified), (maybe Montreal). and not in Ottawa because they havn't rolled out that frequency yet.
I was in Montreal in Feb/March and LTE didn't work with Virgin at the time.
Hey guys, I've been having some data issues with my HTC One and straight talk.
I seem to always be stuck on the Edge network. My sister is using Net10 and when our phones are both in the same location, her mobile type says HSDPA while I'm still on Edge.
My APN settings are as follows:
APN: wap.tracfone
Port: 8080
MMSC: http://mms.tracfone.com

What variant of the one do you have? T-mobile US, ATT, or international? I ask because unless you have the tmobile variant, you will only get edge speeds because the other variants do not support the 1700mhz frequency
Damn, really? That's unfortunate ...
I have the China Unicom version.
Thanks.
