I am very frustrated with my HTC Touch Diamond as I am trying to update it to Hard-SPL yet when it's plugged into the computer (with active sync running) and I follow all the directions very closely, I go to update the phone and it doesn't show any activity on the phone, the progress bar on my computer screen shows 0%, then it eventually pops up with a message saying Error 202. This is a connection error, yet I am positive that the phone is plugged into the computer. Add I have problem w align screen so I can't run anything od Diamond. Please HELP

Hey everyone, i couldnt find any information that helped me so i thought i would let you all know my problem. when i turn the phone on it freezes on the cingular splash screen and my ipl is 2.25, spl 2.25, gsm 02.25.11, os 2.25.11.1. When i go to the red blue green screen, my usb connection shows up on the white part, but when i try to install the official cingular rom it doesnt connect. it says that i need to make sure that i have a usb connection. then the screen goes white. any sugesstions?

Which Windows are you using ? if you are at WinVista it won't work,always use WinXP,secondly do the following :-
1. Disconnect your phone from the usb cable,shut down any firewall,disable any Anti virus,Reboot your PC.
2. On your Desktop PC, open Microsoft ActiveSync, then go to File >Connection Settings >Remove the Selection from “Allow USB Connection with this desktop computer”
3. On your PC Open windows Task Manager...>Tab Processes...>wescomm.exe...>End process
4. Power off the phone completely (Not stand-by,shut off completely),or you may take the battery out for few seconds
5. Make sure your phone is not Connected to the PC via USB cable and remove the dummy Sdcard or mini-Sd card
6. Get your phone into Bootloader mode (Multicolor screen) by pressing camera button + Power on button
7. Reconnect your phone to the Desktop PC using the USB Cradle and the Charger MUST be Connected to the Cradle (Be sure that your battery is charged over 70%)
8. "USB"will appear on the bottom of the screen of the Bootloader (Multicolor screen)
9. Run the Upgrade again and it will work fine without any problems.
10.Never use Bluetooth sync for the Upgrade
While upgrading, the ActiveSync program will not go on, however the upgrade is running.Please be patient when you're flashing your device, even if 98%. It can wait a little bit, 5 ~ 7 minutes.
Don't cancell the flash or get the phone off the usb cable till it confirms "Congratulations" or stops with an Error!!!

i dont have a cradle just the usb cable. will tha be a problem?

...fades to white screen upon connection
I have a similar issue...my 8125 Wizard gets stuck on the splash screen. I follow the above procedure to the letter, get into Bootloader, make the USB connection, and then when I try to flash ANY ROM as it starts to connect the screen fades to white and it comes back with Error 274...Connection error! It doesn't matter what ROM I try...Button's 1.05, Love ROM, T-mobile 2.26, or the Cingular 2.25 ROM...the screen fades to white as it starts to connect. Any ideas Doc P?

BTW, i've tried the MTTY_updateROM.exe ...miniSD card ...r2sd all approach ...the device is CID locked...
I've tried the Kaiser hardSPLv1 with vista and XP but all I get is my phone goes to a white screen on my phone and activesync goes grey, then I have to do a soft reset.
Could anyone help?
Try this. When activesync goes gray. Unhook the phone from the cable and rehook it.
still the same - conect my phone then start program get a message on phone I click 'continue' then phone screen goes white and sync after a minute goes grey tired unpluging the phone from usb and pluging back in and get nothing!
sigh.......

I'm stuck at the "Tap the screen to set up your Windows Mobile-based device." The screen on my HTC 8125 has been acting flakey... working sometimes, but mostly not. A friend thought he would help out, and thought hard reseting the device might help. Now I'm stuck at the tap this screen message, only the touch screen isn't working and is not accepting the tapping. Am I completely outta luck without a phone now?? At least before I could make and answer phone calls. Now, NOTHING. Just this screen. IF there is any way around this that anyone knows of, PLEASE let me know!!

maybe the microcontroler
maybe the rom Try a new again instead the one you have
for skip this screen alignment try to search on the forum there are many ways
I simply conect it to activesync even if it is stucked at this screen it syncs with your pc via activesync... then go to explore...Windows folder.... startup... and delete the file called welcome.lnk then softreset.
Yeah my wizard is stuck to @ tab the screen etc.
I can't connect to activesync becuase activesync does not detect the phone.

Try to replace a new battery, i have the same problem be4. And i discovered the battery is bulked. So I go to buy a new one, and problem is gone now.

I have the same problem, i tried looking through explorer but i couldnt find the file to delete so that i could bypass this startup. If anyone figured anything out let me know please.

1. Do a soft reset. (small hole on the right side)
2. When screen is black hold camera button, this will boot into bootloader
3. Connect USB cable (USB will show over left softkey)
4. Try to flash a new ROM.
I did this process a few times with different roms.. the best I had was using the HardSPL process, and then the NBD_v8.3_8MB rom.
AFTER im trying 2 update my WM5 TO WM6.1 My HTC freeze at the start up with the black screen and htc logo in a black screen and its stops and i tried every thing and it dons't work and my USB connection can be established
Tried to update from original WM 5.0 to WM 6.1 by using the official ROM update . Seems like USB connection broke during update and update freezed at 42%. Update utility process has stopped by itself (no process visible anymore in the Task Manager).
Restarted phone and multicolor screen appeared and stayed. After connecting with USB cable again "USB" appeared at the bottom. Started again the HTC ROM update utility which recognized the phone and started the update process again, but stopped at the beginning with an error message stating something like the ROM is broken.
Restarted again (by removing the battery and hit power button) and state reached like described above (HTC TP2 freezes at start up with the black screen and the Touch Pro2 Logo and some details in red at the bottom).
Performed a hard reset but did not help.

This is my first thread on XDA, because i'm having a problem with my Kaiser.
I'm sorry for my possible "silly" questions, but this a subject wich i'm not very good at.
I have a Kaiser, wich has a TPC Elite Rom Series

And that runs on WM 6.5
Since last friday while i was configuring my mms settings, the device asked me to restart to assume the new settings. So i closed it down by pressing the power button until the message to "shut it down" appeared.
But when i tried to turn it on again, the device starts with the TPC Elite Rom Series screen, then it appears the data from the rom (mentioned above), then it moves to a screen with the Windows Phone message and logo and it stays here until i turn it off again.
So i cannot start my Kaiser and i need all the help i can get.

I already have done hard reset, but it keeps freezing on the "windows phone" screen.

this is also my first post here, can someone please help.
i tried to hardspl my htc kaiser, and failed miserably. i went through all the steps for hardspl but somewhere failed. during the setup when running the kaiser ruu file.on the cpu it said it was complete and for me to look to the phone to finish setup. on the phone it showed the linux penguin and a list of words scrolling down the screen. then it said error insert sd card. so i did then more words scrolled down the screen. then it said error again then the screen went black. after waiting an hour and nothing happened i took the battery out. then i tried to reload and the att logo would only show up. i read online how to get the tri colored screen back up and i got that by pressing the camera and power and reset button in.on the screen it says

and it doesnt respond to the computer. how do i re flash and get my phone working again someone please help if you can thank you
