Eugene you the bestest!
Reported All Posts.. This is about Dev. Not the GPL regarding the Post.
The thread is not about discussion about GPL licensing, this thread is for development of the kernel only.
Stay on topic.
Hi eugene
I'm interested in doing some modification. Just like to know what tools are you using to compile and test these code? How is your set up?
ubuntu Linux 64-bit
Tools used are what Samsung suggested per kernel setup.
Kernel Source for Vibrant?
Hi Eugene,
Can you help me to understand what this kernel build is? Did you take the I9000 source and modify it to work on the Vibrant?
Does it fix the battery drain problem?
Put another way, could this source be compiled and be expected to run on the Vibrant? (Sorry about the noobiness; I am a EE but not a programmer.)
Thanks,
Bruce

I believe this would be simply the source code for the compiled 2.2 kernel we use that he has gotten to work. It was requested by a bunch of people but I read on the cm6.1 irc logs that they requested his source to help speed up the process. I'm sure it can be compiled, but without any modifications you will simply get what is already available in compiled form.

[KERNELS] Looking for Kernel Developers for Kernel Manager!

Hey everyone! I wanted to introduce a new project with a very simple but ambitious goal: create a place where all kernel developers can submit kernels easily and reach a much wider audience with ease.
Using Kernel Manager to flash kernels takes less than 30 seconds, generally, and it is extremely simple for end-users to find a kernel, filter by kernel features (BFS, CFS, HAVS, SBC, etc) download/install kernels, and submit ratings for their favorites.
We need from kernel developers like YOU! Submitting a kernel to Kernel Manager is totally free and we even provide hosting for you! Submitting kernels is easy!
If you use IRC, join us in freenode in #kernel-manager!
THIS LINK IS FOR KERNEL DEVELOPERS SPECIFICALLY! Go to http://kernels.teamw.in and register for an account! Once it's approved, you can easily enter new kernels, which immediately show up in the app. The app is currently available in the market.
Please feel free to provide me with any feedback you have, or feature requests in order to make this a great tool for all of android to utilize!

I posted the official CyanogenMod kernel in Kernel Manager!
So if there aren't any kernel devs who have uploaded their kernels to KM yet, you can at least see the flashing process and if it's something you'd use .
Enjoy!

Rom archive

Hello people,
I personally find it super that there are so many and so good custom-Roms and other useful things for the p990. However, I find this all very confusing and sometimes you have to spend hours to find the software you looking for. Many custom ROMs uploaded to OCH,but OCH are often very slowly for free users. So i have make a archive on my premium Dropbox account. Here i collect Roms, tools, and other p990 stuff.
If anyone has anything against that i upload his rom there please sent me a pm; D
Here is the link: goo.gl/fFNMd
Please write a feedback in this thread; D
PS: Sorry for my bad Englisch i'm from Germany.
Edit: Please copy the url goo.gl/fFNMd i can't make a link because i,m new by xda sorry.

Tanks for the links i download now and. upload it today.
@Rayman in box i can upload only 200 mb per rom. For a big rom over 200 mb not so good.
If this is an archive then I really think you should take the time to add this under the Gueste GoodBye ROMs: http://d-h.st/ZeH
I tried both 2.0 and 2.0R and I found 2.0 much much better than 2.0R. Used 2.0 for months, 2.0R for a few weeks and then returned to 2.0. Can't remember exactly what Stefan did with 2.0R, but personally I prefer the 2.0 without a doubt.
I like the idea too, nice job
All gueste goodbye roms are uploadet in the archive.
nice stash :good:
where did you get that 10.1 build?

Do you even know what you are talking about? You have the 2.0R version. The 2.0 is better and it isn't there, so no, there are not all the goodbye roms.

IMHO, that was uncalled for... Horatio2 is doing a good thing trying to consolidate everything, which would make it much more convenient for most of the people. So, he missed something. Big deal... There are better ways to point it out.
gueste goodbye 2.0 is now uploadet but today it was the last day from my pro accaunt, so i must by tomorrow a new one. Then you can download from the archiv

Now that's organisation! They've obviously spent a lot of time on that. Definitely something which we would all benefit from.

[REQ] Lollipop Kernel

Can someone create a modified kernel for Cyanogenmod12 24.11.2014 build, or make Williams kernel working for the same rom? Something with the same fuctions as Williams Kernel (oc,fauxsound and so on). Thanks in advance.

Can someone also produce a fully working non crashing lollipop build by next tuesday please.
/sarcasm off
Asking for something like this is quite cheeky really, if someone like pecora is working on a lollipop kernel then they will but it takes a lot of work and effort to make something like a kernel. Learn how to code it yourself or just keep en eye on the development folder or better yet ask in pecoras thread if they will be updating for cm12 at all.

lol, i know its hard but i thought that is not so complicated, since williams kernel v8 is based on 12.1.A.1.207 sources, and so is cm12... So maybe "porting" williams kernel v8 kernel to cm12 is not so complicated? Maybe im wrong, explain me better
EDIT: Mr Steve did it again! By following these instructions Williams Kernel v8 will work on cm12 24.11.2014 build
MrSteve555 said:
Actually the bootloops on Williams kernel started when I added the kernel modules loading on boot in the ramdisk. It could clash with the inbuilt governors and other stuff, so kernel panics could occur.
I think that maybe removing these from the ROM zip could help:

It's the full list, maybe some of them are missing in CM12 package which is not supposed to be used as a daily driver anyway. In the CM11 the files ought to be removed also from 12.5 delta patch. It has a big chance to work
But if it doesn't, well, I can't do much :/
