my usb connector is loose and wiggly. I am blaming the nexus usb side because it happens regardless of the cord. Anyone have an idea for squeezing it tighter?

My defy+ cable has on the mirco side two metal pins on each side. Normale cables got only two metal pins on the wider side of the mirco side.

Sorry, I don't understand you, but you can use standard microusb wires for data and charge with your Defy+ (I usually use a Samsung usb wire)
The cables i used on my htc Desire wont charge or are only use full for date transfer. When i trie to charge true my charger or car charger. It start charging and within a second i got a message that it is unconnectend and then connected again. And it loops.

Those aren't "pins" in the sense of providing data signals or charging current. They are more like small springs designed to improve the mechanical retention of the micro USB plug in the socket. They don't make any difference to the electrical or electronic function of the USB cable, beyond reducing the risk of a poor physical connection, or a loss of physical connection if the handset is moved which charging/transferring data.
My Blackberry charger's micro USB plug doesn't have them , but the short USB to micro USB cable which came with my noise-cancelling headphones does - and the only function of that cable is to charge the battery in the headphones. I think you will find that there are a number of subtle mechanical variations of this kind between micro USB plugs from different manufacturers.

I used with my Defy+ usb chargers and usb cables from Samsung Wave and Blackberry 8990 and all of these works property for charging and for data transfers.

Other possibilities are that the charger is faulty or providing a charge current which is slightly outside spec, or that there is a problem with the battery. I have seen problems caused by both of these kinds of fault (with third-party chargers and batteries) when using my Motorola USB cable.
I bought a Nexus One with the infamous broken power button issue, and I am curious what would the effect be if I short the VCC and GND line in the charging port? Has anyone tried that? I am thinking that it will either fry the board or trick the phone to think that it is charging.
The reason I want to do this is because I travel a lot and I might not have access to USB charging if I want to swap the SIM card. I am familiar with the other tricks regarding remapping the trackball_center and I am going to install a version of CWM that doesn't support charging (that way the phone boots when I plug a charging cable).
So long story short... what do you think about attempting to short the micro USB charging/data port?
It won't fool the phone into anything, only ruin your USB socket and potentially fry any device into which you'll plug such phone, forgetting that it's shorted.
For charging detection 5V needs to be applied between VCC and GND - standard VBUS voltage.
The original charger cable for my phone got stolen and I've been having issues finding cables to fit in my phone, all the micro usb cables I have tried seem like they are too small for it and will not stay in my phone. Is anyone else having these issues are have any ideas on how to fix it.
Thank you in advanced
Sounds like the USB port is worn out. MicroUSB cables are all the same size, so they can't really be too small.
I find its critical how I put a cable in. I think the connector may be on the 'big' end of the spec, so a plug can go in, overriding the tab with the connections.
Also, some plugs work better then others. Maybe try a different cable?

with a little searching I figured out my issue to anyone else having these problems, take a wooden toothpick and clean out your usb port. I cleaned tons of lint out of it and now it works great
I have a problem regarding the micro USB port on my Nexus 6.
My phone seems to be "breaking" micro USB cables. I am currently on my 6th wire in just 2 months, the previous 4 months I had no issues with the stock cable.
USB cables seem to have a very snug fit, and I believe the problem happens when I am pulling the cable out of my phone (requiring some force). The broken cables have a much looser fit and will not charge the device unless positioned in a certain way or not at all. The two small pins on the micro USB plug seem to be sticking out much less than on a brand new cable (as if my Nexus 6 is somehow damaging this pins and ruining cables after just a few uses).
Does anyone have this issue?
I have attached pictures of a NEW and OLD cables so you can see what my phone is doing to the small prongs/pins.
Last night my cord got broken.
I repaired it and it was going so well.
Until I accidentally pulled the ground wire from plug
It didn't charge but when I connect the ground wire (the ground wire near the usb plug...the other side, I mean the usb was cutted so it has two sides. The side with the usb plug and the side with plug that connects the tab. I accidentally pulled the ground wire on the side of that connects the tab) to the data wire, it indicate that it charges but always 0%.
I left my tab to charge overnight(still indicating that it's charging) and when I tried to turn it on. It won't
So basically. The illustration is like this (underscores are for spacing)
____________[+]---------------------[+]
Tablet <PLUG--[-]----------------------[-] USB Male Connector> Computer
____________[Data]---------[Ground]
____________[Ground]--broken--
_________________ditched--[Data]
I'm just curious, what could have possible happened?
The device is GT-P3100 or Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0
