The link doesnt work for me faria. I just went to the ftp site and manually downloaded the rom.
I cant access the FTP site. It keeps asking me my usnername or something so I figure the xda login name right, but it doesnt work. Can someone upload it somewhere thanks
Thanks
Download works fine for me. Just put xda in for the password. I'll check it out and see if its a reasonable alternative for the 2.19.11 rom and my Cingular service!

Thanks, I finally was able to download it. One question before I upgrade. Maybe Faria can give his input. I am a T-mobile user currently on the 2.19.11 radio rom. This seems to be the best one overall for me since it allows both data and voice calls at the same time, there are no missed calls. But reception/signal is somewhat not good. Does this new radio give better reception for T-Mobile as well as allowing both data and voice?
Thanks
Great radio rom but isn't 2.69.11 newer then 2.40.11?
Well, right, it is newer most likely. The thing is, newer isn't necessarily better for each person's circumstance. Radios are tuned for particular providers in particular places and are usually matched with particular roms. However, in my case for example, with Cingular US service, and WM6 roms, my experience and that of many others is that the 2.19.11 T-mobile UK rom is the best. The others were inconsistent in alerting me to incoming calls and pending voicemails. However the data and sound was better with the newer radios. For me not missing calls was most important, so I stick with the older rom. But, this is a new one for me, and hope springs eternal, so I'll probably give it a try and see if I can have the best of both worlds like those T-Mobile guys.
Regards,
working well on farias "the real thing"?

From what I understand, 2.69.11 is the latest released German Radio rom, but 2.40.11 is a US released rom. So this may work better for US customers. I hope we can use 2.40.11 with WM6!

in the midwest US of A baby.. smoke you!
Just installed it! I will post back my results.
Since I finally experienced the awful delay in SMS receiving on the 2.69 radio ROM (after several weeks of success, I missed 4 important text messages in an hour's timeframe), I'm game for this. Downloading now...
So far my signal seems to be much better than 2.19 radio. but only time will tell.

I too am now noticing a delay\lack of SMS\Voicemail Msg after WEEKS of 2.69 working like a charm. I thought I was one of the lucking ones but now I am not so sure. Who knows how long this has been happening. Anyway, downloaded and installing right now.
Working great on WM2005 .
thanx Faria .
by the way...this is a US radio.....sorry i cant name the carrier at the moment.
I've installed this on my Cingular 8125 on the Cingular network last night. I received a test sms and another SMS from a friend in a timely manner. All test calls I've put through have worked so far. I was even downloading a webpage with Opera and phoned in and the call came through. So far so good... Tomorrow (Monday) will be the real test when I'm back to work, but I'll try to give it a workout today.
thanks for the info so far and please continue to post information on this rom and its working with wm6
P.S.-Sorry for not being able to also post information but in what i do missing a call/calls or missing a sms/sms' would cost me alot of $$$$$...(so thanks for being guinea pigs...poor pigs lol)
First timer dumb question
Hi. I am running Nottoosmart's system with radio 2.19. Things have been pretty stable, but there are times when I've had to reboot in order to reacquire the phone carrier after sleep (e.g. softreset). Also, subjectively I believe I have some signal problems when in places where there is already a weak signal.
So, bottom, line, I am considering trying this radio.
But, I have never flashed a radio before and I'd like to avoid having this become a "federal project." So a few questions:
1. I can flash the radio back and forth (e.g. ->2.40, ->2.19) *without* touching the OS (e.g. wm6 rom/ram), is that correct?
2. There are several executables in the zip: EnterBootloader.exe, romupdateutility.exe, RUUGetInfo.exe; I realize there are tutorials ad infinitum posted here, but can someone help me save some time by letting me know how to install the radio, do I just run "romupdateutility" over activesync, or is there more to do?
Please don't flame. I am an engineer, just not experienced in burning radios to MDA's. I assume the radio goes into a portion of rom that is dedicated to the phone processor of the OMAP chip?

Hello,
1) You can flash the Radio rom without messing with the OS. All of your settings and files will not be affected. It does not require a hard reset.
2) Just run the romupdateutility.exe. It works the same when you flash a new os rom, it just takes a fraction of the time due to the fact you are only flashing the radio. I just connect via USB and let activesync do its thing then run romupdateutility.exe, the program will kill activesync itself.
I hope this helps.
ok so i have a wizard.. a g3, and i've done it all now.. i've tried all the roms (amp, snn, hornet.. brushed)
and with each came it's flaws, whether it was battery consumption, irratic or unintended operation, or missed calls.
i finally settled on a rom (TNT something or other) that i liked, i liked the rainbow at the top giving battery status.. altho it began to chew the battery like a hungry dog on food scraps. and then i checked my voicemail, just arbitrarily.. EIGHT NEW MESSAGES. turns out the whole world was calling, and leaving voicemails, and i was completely unaware! (yet another rom busted)
i'm in the process (actually just finished) reflashin my original cingular rom back on the phone.. i have thrown in the towel.
so i have started this thread, to see, if one of the mega-brains around here has some ideas for me.
i read somewhere that changing radios might help.. but i don't understand why i have to change radios; this one worked before i started dickin with this phone!
so the question is: should i have gone forward with this radio changing, would it have really helped? or is every rom out there just too buggy to deal with? am i really better off attempting to cook my own, or should i just leave the whole damn thing alone and upload HTC home customizer and smartskey, like i had back in 2006..?
i mean i've lost everything at one point or another; stability went away with some roms (crashing everywhere), most every rom lost the MMS capability (could send, never receive), most every rom lost the ability to send an email from an SMS (Which was big for me, but i think it was related to wm6) now the rom i'm using (which is not the one in my signature) doesn't receive calls, missed calls, voicemails, and most text messages.
was all that i have learned on XDA a bust, or is there ONE MORE TWEAK that i needed to perform that would have made my phone... a phone again?
I would just keep looking until you find a rom that suits your needs.
I've used these two roms for some time and both work realy well with my G3 Wizard.

The first if you like cube thingy, the second I use now because it is very very stable, good battery life 2-3 days of use and 5+ days on standby.
Never missed a call, loads of memory and storage I can not fault it at all.
P.s. my radio is 02.07.10
I'm with the original poster, I have a G3 wizard and almost ALWAYS miss phone calls, NEVER get informed of messages, and I can't justify the inability of the phone to work as a phone for the gadget end of the deal. I have the TNT WM 6.1 build 20273.1.3.3, Radio 2.71.11
OS 11.0.4.0
ipl\spl 2.26

The general consensus here (this issue has been discussed over and over in this forum) is that radio 2.19.11 is the most stable, and should solve your missed calls/messages problem. It solved mine.
By all means, Cook your own ROM. It's the only way to get the ROM you want and it's not that hard. It only took me downloading and flashing 2 ROMs before I said "to heck with this I'm cooking my own".
so
you say if i were to have gone to the 2.19 radio i would have finally beeen happy? i mean missed MMS messaging and phone calls and voicemails and all?
what about decreased cell phone reception i have read about?

I had the same issues... missed calls, voicemail, text message alerts not appearing all due to one thing, wm6 and 6.1. One thing that helped me out was to have data connection (GPRS/EDGE) turn off automatically after a set ammount of time and BAM! no more missed calls. Advanced Config program will do it easily or GB-SOFT Tweak. Hope that helps! Also, 2.19.11 radio only helps a little also....

Talk about jumping to conclusions. I am using WM6 and since I loaded radio 2.19.11 I NEVER have missed calls or messages....
When I got my phone and it had WM5 it was the worst performing PocketPC I've ever had. Now, with WM6 it is the BEST performing PocketPC I've ever had.

Same goes here for me too!
New Phone
Don't you just wish you had a new phone whenever you wanted? I do.
Every time I flash a new ROM (and I flash OFTEN) I get a brand new phone to play with. (I'm not an addict, I just do it because it's fun )
If I just wanted a phone that worked I could use any non-smart phone. They all have PIM's now and lots of them have QWERTY keyboards.
I agree that there does not seem to be any perfect ROMS and that statement includes the OEM's. A complex device makes it nearly impossible for everything to be perfect (just look at the desktop version of Windows!)
Sometimes I too get frustrated when I flash the latest and greatest and find out it's missing something I "need" and have to start the process all over.
But, when I can afford my new Fuze, I'll still be here screwing with it!
Just my 2 cents.
(Hi! I'm Rob and I'm a ROM flashing addict....)

Well....... I never had missed calls with wm5 but the os generally performed poorly so it's a matter of what you value more having missed calls or better os performance. No jumping to conclusions here. I have trouble shooted this issue for several months. And I'm not the only one one with missed calls while data connection is active. Do and search and see the countless threads on this repeated issue. Plus, it could be a provider related issue but seems to be with both at&t and tmobile us customers. Glad you don't have issues though...

i think you are right because.. there's something that is different from 5 to 6. for some reason my gay AT&T needs to switch data connections to do different things. like if you connect to ATT data to surf PIE lets say.. then you decide to send an MMS.. it will have to unconnect then reconnect..? and wm6.1 rarely decides to do that on it's own (like when someone sends you a picture message)
By blaming your problems on WM6, you're jumping to conclusions...You really don't know what's causing your problems. If it was WM6 then I'd be having problems too, but I'm not, so how could it be WM6?
I could say that it must be your connection settings that is causing you problems when ATT switches connections for an MMS, but then I'd be jumping to conclusions even though that's a more likely cause than WM6 having a blanket problem.
Guys I am pretty new to this so I am turning the falme suit on...
The last time i tried to install some ROM i was constantly runnign into problems.
The only rom that I was able to get to work is that 5 tab menu screen with the digital clock as the background. Which I love. But i want something new.
My phone has been doing crazy things lately. For one thing, it is extremely slow. When i slide the phone open or closed, the rotation is slow and "laggy". When i open the screen to send text messages the screen is messed up.
Now the phone consistantly drops the calls after about 3 mins of talking.
When I answer the phone(incoming calls) using the speaker phone, the caller can't hear me.
I would like to have one of those Radio ROM,s so that I can listean to the radio occationally.
Can you help me find a ROM to suit my needs and fix my problems?
I have searched. I have read the "stickey" post, I have watched that video of that guys from "my tilt site" but I still can't get a new rom installed and can't fix my problems
I suspect you need to experiment with different radios. If you go to the Roms forum then check out the any mentions of your model and location in the Ultimate Radio Thread and check out any mentions of what radios are good in the thread for the rom you're trying. If you find a radio that's recommended in both then that's a good bet
start with the official HTC 3.34 rom (the one with the 1.70 radio version), its fast enough for most things. then move on to other roms like anryls or the recent wm 6.5 beta roms if you really want fast.
Thanks for your replies. Do I have to delete my current ROM before I can install a new ROM?
I tried the HTC Diamond album.cab ROM and the keyboard speed up ROM and neither worked
Please go to ROM section and read noobs flashin guide it's a sticky "sorry can't provide link as using mini"

Man, you really are a noob! those are not roms, those are registry entry cabs and programs. you ha e a lot of learning to do before you should attempt a rom flash. a rom changes the entire look and feel of your phones operating system.
depends on a lot of things radio you use programs you have on there how old your device is how old your battery is how much power is in it its a bit like how long is a pice of string
Hey All,
Im back in the game after a couple years off.
I picked up my HD today. (was considering diamond2 or even tpro2 but the HD is the same hardware in a nicer form factor and I can live with the onscreen KB)
its the BLAC120 version, ie, 850/2100 UMTS bands. so i have freedom in AU to chose my telco as well as in the USA.
Now. my question....
i see the hard spl is for blac100 and USPL doesnt seem to work on Windows 7 x64 due to the USB driver not being compatable.
So how do I flash hard spl (if one is avail) or use USPL.
Then
which ROM do you recommend? is miri's rom stable? any major issues (yes there are 600+ posts but cannot read it all).
Or is dutty's v3.4 with wm6.1 a good option?
Radio? these roms above come with the radio packaged? or just the OS? my radio isnt the 900/2100 but instead is the 850/2100.
ANy help will e greatly appreciated.....
current ROM is the Telstra bloatware version... and currently running nothing except Lotus Notes Traveler.
Cheers
JJ
USPL works with the recommended driver fix.
About Roms' i tested both , both are good depends now what you want
Miri's rom have a little more bugs , but it's very good on resources arround 35%
Dutty's rom interface old 6.1 , resources arround 40-45% , with not so many bugs
So now it's u're decision, better try both in 10 min u'll flash both
p.s. roms yes they came with radio package and other programs , you just flash
Hey mate hope I can help (and that i'm right)
I have just recently put hspl on my HD and been flashing quite a few roms.
Most roms do not come with radios, most of Dutty's do come with radios.
I have flashed Dutty's 3.4, Miri v12, MaryONE, and Lost in Asia and each one has been very good although I prefer usability of win 6.5 (New start menu, still has manilla, better finger scrolling in all menu's etc).
As far as Rom's being stable, you will find that most are more than stable enough. The issues I have had with Roms is because i installed a crappy application or something.
The only way to find a rom you like is to keep on flashing, I recommend trying miri's (6.5) to start off with, it gives the latest build (most of the time) and is rather generic. Then try Dutty's(6.1), then decide if you prefer 6.5 or 6.1, then find the roms in that version of win and flash away. It also depends on what apps you want. Start off with the premiums that come with alot of apps, then decide if you use them all or not.
My last advice, is to get the microsoft myphone and sync your data to a server (or use PIMbackup) to backup ur contacts, sms, calander etc. Make sure you test the rom first before installing a whole bunch of apps. IE: restore your data and use the phone for a bit, see if you like it etc. No use spending an hour or so putting ur stuff back on to realize you don't like something about it!
I have flashed so many versions of rom's, it gets quite addictive! Good luck
noob question?!!! wow, after over 1000 posts
anyway the only allowed comparison between ROMs is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=516190
any other "comparison" thread is cut short (locked) because almost of all the other parameters for comparison are subjective: what I like you might not, i have certain apps you have others and so on...the only real good advice u got till now is from onlinepredator:
The only way to find a rom you like is to keep on flashing

keep reading (i always start from the end) a few pages in each thread, try some and you''ll find "the one". good luck!
thanks so far. im assuming miri's ROM doesnt contain a radio.
with USPL, issue im facing is that the USB driver isnt compatable with windows 7 x64. If I can ge this to install then USPL is a breeze.
i flashed my Telstra HD via USPL with Windows 7 x64 using the old driver. Press F8 before Windows 7 boots and disable driver signing to install the old driver and flash your phone. good luck and enjoy your phone!
Noob Question from JJ Best joke today for me, welcome back JJ Black rom coming?
BEST ROM
i use LAURENTIUS V .2.2 2.3 will coming up next
best battery life and more stable;
p.s. i ve tried 3 another ones
Welcome Back Old Mate
Hi old mate,
I laughed my head off when I saw your message about a Noob question. I have always admired your ROMs and installed them on so many devices for myself and my friends alike (I do miss those good old days).
My simple recommendation after trying the HD since its first day of availability.
1) Use HardSPL 1.56 so you can flash from the SD card with the new SPL from HTC.
2) Skip WM 6.1 and go for WM 6.5. I keep switching between Miri's ROMs and PhamQyang's and David's. They are the best. My personal preference is Miri's so far (unless our old friend jasjamming has some wicked plans to cook a better All Black ROM
jasjamming
Nice to see you back!

It will get your turnaround time on flashing roms down to less than 20mis and allow you to try them all.
Wiki has a lot of good info some maybe to basic for.
Which is best for you is your choice and its subjective, the reason that we (I) am closing threads like this is to keep Development clean and based on Development.
Hi guys, I would love if anyone could help or has had this issue before, I have an htc tilt build of the kaiser, and ever since I flashed it into anything custom, tried a bunch of different radio's and hard spl's and rom versions. I even reverted everything back to the stock settings as best I could. I couldn't find the original wm 6.0 stuff it had so I flashed everything (including the hardspl back to normal and the wm 6.1 update for the kaiser. Either I may be doing something wrong... or I bricked my phone, but since its operating normally aside from the signal, I don't think I bricked it.
Heres essentially what it does, I turn it on, it works for X amount of time, usually a few mins then won't do anything, calls or data, even if it has signal, which seems to get weaker or no signal at all after a few minuites.
Now an odd thing is, if I tether the internet to my laptop with internet sharing, alot of the time the connection runs stable for several hours if I tether it within a few mins of a bootup.
I'm sorry it was so wordy, I just figured any information could help out, I'd really appreciate it, and not having to restart my phone alot the time would be great
Currently I'm running stylus black's latest full build (5.0?) on hard spl 3.29 and the radio 1.70.19.09. the stuff recommended on the thread.
Try a different Radio the recommended just means tested by chef and works doesn't mean it will work for all people since so many variables involved in choosing radio.
Hi, was your issue resolved using a different radio.. My friend has signal problem as well. It only happens when the keyboard is open.. is this a hardware realated problem?
