I'm new in using Android X1. I just use this package.
I have a problem with hardware keyboard. When I open the keyboard, my screen freezes, but when I shut the keyboard, the screen working again. I tried to turn off animation and automatic rotation, but it did not help.

I hope you can help. Whenever I connect my bluetooth keyboard my keys on front of the diamond will be disabled. After disconnecting the keyboard they will work again. How to disable this? beceause now whenever the keyboard is connected I can't use de answer, hangup en navigation keys on the diamond.

right now that seems to be how it is. when you say you have to disconnect the keyboard what do you mean by that? I'm guessing you turn off your keyboard right?
What I do is that I just toggle the bluetooth radio by turnning it off and on again. that will break the link between the keyboard and the phone and allow you to use the keys again.
Yes you'd have to do this pretty much everytime after you're done with the keyboard.

Yup I mean turning off the keyboard. There must be a registry sollution for this.
I recently bought a new screen, and after installing it my keyboard has ceased to work. All other buttons work but the keyboard is completely non-functional. Does anyone know what i did to disconnect my keyboard?

I am using X1 & after update Rom my X1's keypad is not working . after opening keyboard, screen not rotating landscape, but after closing keypad, screen shows exactly what I typed on keyboard. Sorry for my english. I flashed 4-5 different rom files today but problem is still there. Is there cab file needed to enable this ?
I am following SD card method & stuck in this problem even I dont know exact version Rom for it.
I think I tried these Roms if any one can understand my problem Please help me.

It's a hardware problem, your flex cable is worn out.

Keybord is working but not showing in display. after opening keypad screen gets stuck & not rotating, & after closing keypad screen shows exactly what I typed on it.

I didn't say your keyboard or screen was broken. I said the flex cable was.
The hardware problem is the cable that connects your keyboard/main unit and lcd screen together (the flex cable). So your keyboard 100% works. Your screen 100% works. But when you slide open the phone, the flex cable stretches. Since it's worn out, some connections break when it stretches the main board can no longer send signals to the screen, so it appears to freeze. But the keyboard (and everything else) still work, so you can still type, only YOU CAN'T SEE IT since screen can't get any signals from the board. When you slide the phone back, the connection is restored and you can see what you typed.

im not new to this forum but im new to Sony's X1 & i have a X1 that has keyboard & screen rotate issues
iv done the keyboard clean job ..STRIPED my X1 and learnt more in the past 12 hours than i have in the past 2 weeks about phones .
BUT I NEED TO LEARN MORE !!
can u guys please try shed some light on this issue.
im feeling its a Flex ribbon issue confusedr im preying that)

ok let me try explain..
when i slide the qwerty keyboard out the screen dose not switch to landscape mode.
but the keyboard lights up like it should.
when im inserting text with the qwerty keybord slid out the text dose not come up on the display TILL i slide closed the keyboard..
and when the keyboard is slid out the touch screen dose not respond @ all ....
Hmmmm i had an Omnia and i missed the qwerty keyboard i will doctor this SONY x1 till its 100%

I'm using GingerDX V011. I have tried wiping but when I use the keyboard, it causes the screen to go blank.
If I rotate phone sometimes it works and if I manage to quickly grab focus from keyboard back onto the textedit widget, it holds the screen the way it is supposed to.
However, it is a bit of a pain. It has happened with the Android keyboard and I have installed Swype and I get the same result and that is the keyboard I usually use.
Anyone else have this behavior and know how to resolve?
Fixed this, it was Xperia Arc theme issue on X8.
