change music with the button "volume up". - Nexus S Themes and Apps

Hi,
With my old samsung galaxy spica, I could change music with the button
"volume up".
I would like if possible to have the same thing on the nexus S.
I'm official version 8.3.3 and the phone is root.
Thank you

no but CM7 has music control on the lock screen

Ok thanks.
I'm a new customer to nexus S. I don't know very well others rooms and I'm satisfied with my current version except this little problem...

if you have Clockwork Recovery installed (look around XDA there are guides that teach you how to do this step-by-step). Once u get that installed, wipe dalvik/cache/factory and flash CM7 then gapps.
I'd also recommend using Netarchy's 1.3.0.0 CFS kernel because it includes Voodoo Sound (get Voodoo Control App from the market) and it'll make your music sound a lot better

I have used this guide
dkszone.net/root-nexus-s-android-2.3.3-gingerbread-google-samsung
It was the easiest for me.

Yup... CM7 works great with music and pandora.
Also, volume keys controls your email too... not gmail.

Functional DSP Manager for Galaxy Tab request...

As with many other users, my Tab suffers from very low volume & mediocre audio from its internal speaker specially when watching certain movies. Ive been looking for an app to control audio volume and EQ that works on the Galaxy and found an app called DSP Manager (current version 2.2).
It features a beautiful interface that is great on the Tab's 7" screen, installs without a problem but doesnt seem to have any effect when applying EQs or settings... the sound is always the same.
I was wondering if I could request to make this app fully functional on the Tab

Would be great that supercurio owns a Tab and develop the sound part as in the galaxy S.

[Q] Winamp controls using music buttons?

I use Winamp for music, I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a way to use the volume buttons to control music? I know it's possible on Cyanogen mod, but I'm using serendipity for now until CM is stable...does anyone know if music controls with volume buttons is possible?
is there anything on serendipity function wise that cm7 doesnt have that you use/need. because if not cm7 has themes that are close to serendipity and cm7 is actually pretty stable at this point, im using it and i love it.
my issue with CM7 was that battery life was nowhere where I'd like i to be, the headset button isn't functional, and the camera is pretty much unusual/****ty.
Don't get me wrong, I loved the customizability of CM7, and intend to flash it once it's stable, but I'd like to find good replacements for things like Samsung's contact/calander apps, which I think are better than default

Wifi fixed yet?
CM7
On my first full day of CM7 I got better battery life than I did with Perception 10.3
Camera 360 has a free app works perfectly and takes pictures at full resolution, with a normal mode so you don't have to have picture effects, but I don't know about a video recorder replacement yet though.

[Q] sgs crash while playing music and screen locked

I just installed gingerbread xxjvk 2.3.3 on my galaxy s and then wanted to listen some music. but when i locked my screen my phone totally crashed and needed to hold the power button to reset. I tried it while playing from internal and external storage. and with eq on and off. i found out it didnt crash while browsing my storage and clicking a song and then play it. it only crashes if i search and play a song in the player itself. Plz help me i need my music
greetings jaap from the netherlands
I assume the music player's version is not prepared for gingerbread or that beta firmware has a problem with the way your player wants to search/open a file. Try a different one, for example PowerAMP is a great player!
It works. but i get an annoying clicking sound while playing sounds. i tried winamp to but it has the clicking sound to. So i solved one problem, and the next one appears
Trials and tribulations of running non stock/beta firmware i am afraid .

Where can i get the original rom from galaxy s?
samfirmware.com has all the official firmwares you may need. by the way in my opinion go for a cooked froyo firmware with speedmod or voodoo kernel as they have significant improvements over sound quality via voodoo app from market (needs compatible kernel) and also they're more stable.
This happens on my HD2 as well when sound is distorting due to to loud and gain. Maybe this helps in finding a solution in Gingerbread for this issue. Great rom though!
Fat.

[Q] 3 button hedset control

hey everyone,
i just bought a new headset for my captivate running continuum 6.1 and i cant get the volume controls to work. i tried a bunch of headset control apps from the market and no luck. there are designed for ipod but i thought there would be an app out there to make them compatible.
i've currently using player pro and the stock music app that came with continuum. is it possible that the volume control is not compatible with the player?
i tried to find the answer using google and forum search but no luck.
any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
Have you tried voodoo control app?
i have voodoo control and i dont see anything there that would enable my headset volume buttons to work...

[APPS] CM9 Music and Clock apps

The dev responsible for the Cyanogen Mod 9 Music app has released a beta. I'm currently on CyberGR-MOD|NS.NGN v.2 Hybrid ROM and I'm getting a lot of force closes especially when trying to use the search function, but I'm still using it because its freaking beautiful. Follow the instructions below to install and report back. Here's the original post:

If you want to use the clock app with all the changes I made, here's that link. You'll need to use the new music app for everything to work correctly, so here's that link too.
Ice Cream Sandwich only. Uninstall the stock music and clock app, reboot, then install these.

Why do I have to delete the original google music app? They can be installed side by side.
How do you uninstall the stock apps? I only get 'Force Close' and 'Disable' in the 'Manage Apps' section
This apps are amazing, thank you!

Sent from my Nexus S using xda premium
Music force closed on my 4.0.3 AOSP+ Nexus S...
Thanks! Mine's working fine(CyberGRMod). Flashed it for first time and get FC's. Uninstalled the Stock Music App and then flashed it again. No more FC's.
Crashes here over CM9 Alpha for Desire S. I uninstalled stock app, clear cache/dadvik, installed it but it continues crashing
yes, it looks awesome but it uses a lot of CPU, when my screen is closed, the music cuts and jitters. I guess it's because the app uses more CPU while the OS tries to downclock the CPU.
I'm using KalimochoAz v1.1 CM9 build.
The music app is great. What extra features does the clock have

I'm agree. I've same issue. I'm on CyberGR V7. No problem with music app from CyberGR.
OMG it's even worse with KalimochoAz v2. I can't even scroll the songs list while I'm playing a song. I guess I'll be going back to V1 and use the stock music app
One workaround I have discovered when using the LULZACTIVE CPU Governor is to set the minimum frequency threshold to 400MHz when playing music with the screen off. This works regardless of Deep Idle settings.
