[Q]Bricked Galaxy Tab GT-p1000t - Galaxy Tab Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
My mate decided to try throwing Overcome onto his Tab, and failed dramatically by not rooting it initially. Now whenever you try and boot it comes up with a Phone - Yellow Exclamation - Comp pic.
He's given it to me to try and fix for him, any ideas on how to fix this?

for the holy moly go to samfirmware.com , download your stock rom , plug the tab into the pc during its in download mode , that u mentioned it above , omg i have to repeat the same answer everyday ...
after you download the rom from samfirmware.com
1- plug your tab in the case that its in now ( YELLOW SCREEN )
2- after you extract the TAR from the zip you downloaded , put it in ODIN PDA section
3- PUT PIT , in PIT section
4- hit the start button
5- after you done , pls pls .... do not flash your tab by anything , and do not root it . root is bad you knw .. your friend ask you to do it , and you coming to ask us how to do it .. rofl . same question been answering every 1hour ......

If you can't find on Samfirmware, look on here for the stock Telstra Rom, use the search. You should find it and use ODIN to reflash...
Then you should be able to be flash happy. No guarantees, make sure you read ALL instructions and do them by the letter otherwise the soft brick you have now will only be useful for throwing at your window as it becomes a true brick...

go to dis site n dwld the given files
http://www.thegalaxytabforum.com/in...gingerbread-p1000xxjq1-p1000xxjq1-p1000xxjpz/
1.first bring the tab to dwld mode (power n volume down) though it shows error icon
open odin and connect tab to pc then tick Repartition , auto reboot, F.Rest Time
then press pit button and nw specify .pit file as target then click on start
your tab ll b nrml nw
nw follow the steps shown in video to install GB the video also shows how to root also ...

please HELP my i9001 is bricked !!!

Hi Guys,
I tried to upgrade rom from 2.3.3 to 2.3.6 got on this forum , using odin 4.43
the port was reconized and the process started but stay locked at 4/12 during 1 hour
so that I had to stop odin and shut down my i9001 from downloading mode .
now when restarting device I get icon showing a phone and a pc with yellow triangle and exclamation point in it .
Please help, what ca I do?
I made a full data+system backup using titanium on my sd card before stating the operation, could it be used ?
thanks in advance !!
Eric
Can you acces download mode? If you can, just try again with odin..
Hi,
You mean it is possible to get dowload mode , even if I got thei triangle pc phone logo ?
You should be able to get into download mode. Get the battery out of your phone and put it back after 10sec, Volume Down + Home + Power Button at the same time will get you in download mode.
It happens a lot that the flash is stuck, especially with large files. Changing USB or PC even will solve the problem.
thanks Shoomy !
I could get the download mode following your instruction
I will try with another another usb entry when at home .
for odin I have 2 files : one is .ops, the orther is .md5 : can you confirm I dont nead more files to get process ok till the end .
after step2 as I remember I have an odin log line telling something as " big file ..."
so that I wonder if it could work using another usb port !

That is fine, MD5 means "one package", so be sure to check One Package and then your .MD5 along with the .OPS and you're good to go. No need for other files.
Thanks Guys !
I could flash my phone with odin 4.43 and 2.3.6 rom .
but the only way to success after many sessions, was to uncheck box " secure OPS file" on odin screen .
thanks a lot

If you are 100% sure you cannot enter download mode you really have a problem. Did you try checking the battery? And if you are 100% sure - search the forum, there's some posts about using a JIG to fix it, but most seem to have gone back to Samsung afaik...
when i bricked my phone =1 medecin= www.broodplank.net (and check how to unbrick your I9001-article)

That's for softbricks only, not really a brick (just something that makes people panic and think they bricked their phone ). Hardbricks are almost impossible as in: go to a service center and hope they will replace or fix your device (without any cost)...

[Q] Samsung Galaxy s stuck in loop with Ultimate rom ?

Well first you are going to have to achieve either recovery or download mode.
Recovery: hold volume up + home and the hold power until the first screen pops up. Keep holding for about half a second. Which longer than instant lol
Download: same as above but volume down.
If you get to recovery try a wiping cache and dalvik. Then try boot up. If that doesn't work then you'll have to wipe/factory reset from recovery.
If that doesn't work then either download a stock firmware by Ramad on the general forum or go sammobile.com or type in darky in Google and go to his website and navigate to full releases. From there click on the latest for your phone sgs i9000. Scroll down to instructions and look for the link for 10.2 re or something similar. Its the Odin flashable rom. Alternatively just look for a from you like and flash it. If you have recovery you may be able to use CWM flash able zips otherwise you will need Odin flash able files from the places above.
Darky rom will retain root and is a custom from so it'll be easier to move to another custom from if you flash that.
That cover everything

Hi Talon26,
I have tried the 3 button recovery and download and nothing nada ??
I dont know which stock firmware to go for a while ago i had same problem as im having now and could not get a decent download for stock firmware any pointers in the right direction ??
can you get a Jig from a friend?
it can get you into download mod without button combination..
here is some video that might help to understand how to make one, it has instructions on the info.
also, in xda http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=819551

Yes you can use a jig that would be easiest and best for the future in-case you run into this again...
However i don't understand why download or recovery is not working if you are already on custom, you have achieved it before right? If not use a video to help.
However if the standard methods do not work then there are sill some tricks..
1. Take out the battery>>>Hold the button combo>>>Insert battery whilst holding combo>>>When the boot screen appears (Samsung GT-I9000) hold for about half a second/whole second then release>>>Wait. If it continues to boot loop again then take out battery
2. From task manager close all Kies apps/processes>>>Put your usb cable in>>>plug in your phone>>>hold the combo>>>Wait.
3.Take out battery>>>Do all of 2>>>When the USB is connected to phone whilst holding the combo insert battery>>>Wait.
4. Repeat 3 with charger instead of the USB cable
If none of that works then yes i think you will need to make or buy the jig. (Or borrow if you can). But also do a search as im not sure if i covered all the tricks. There used to be a thread on it in the general section, try search for it.

Sammoblie.com, [Ramad] Stock Firmware or Darky 10.2RE
Sammobile.com is straight forward. Click on smartphone, then android etc. Just follow the clicks then you select the FW that is relevant to you based on country and provider... If use the Ramad link then you will need your csc code which will be retrievable from the sammobile site its at the bottom.
Good luck

1. Ultimate ROM is it ICS? if yes install samsung drivers.exe from the following link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=961956
2. Download stock ROM for your phone from samfirmware.com or alternatively you can use Darky's ROM
3. you will need Odin to flash the ROM it is included with Darky's ROM as is a read me file with instructions.
4. Start Odin make sure no kies processes are running if installed. If they are running Kill the processes
5. Boot phone to download mode using jig. Remove jig from phone. Plug USB cable into phone. wait for odin to detect phone then flash.
NOTE you may have to Flash once with re-partition ticked and then once without to get the rom completely booted.
Once running it is suggested to perform factory reset

Stock ROM would be what the phone was shipped with. ie carrier branded OS etc.
Darky's should work or from Samfirmware.com once registered select firmwares. Type "smartphone" OS "android" model "your model" region "your region"
you should then be left with a selection of firmwares for your handset/region
download the suitable version

From what you describe I will assume that your computer is running windows 7. This being the case the file downloaded needs to be extracted so that you are left with 1 file called JVG_JV5_JV4
You say that you are now left with file called JVG_JV5_JV4. Have you downloaded a PIT file? If not find 512 PIT at the bottom of this post.
Once PIT file is downloaded extract file.
Select PIT and add pit file
Select PDA and then select the file extracted JVG_JV5_JV4
Then flash.
As stated before you may have to flash with repartition selected once and then once with out.
This should get you going again.

when you are saying that it is doing nothing is odin flash failing ??
Flash completing and then phone not booting??
If the stock ROM is not working try Darky's 10.2 as it will generally work when other methods fail.
Mate , I can not thank you enough i tried again after i last put message on here and all done i now have 2.3.6 and as far as i am concerned all ok now. I did have to get into recovery mode after i used Odin for mob to start up and just did a system rebbot or should i say factory rebbot. All ok now and alot of songs i had were all still on memory card ok had to re install apps i had before but hey ho.

Pull battery, replace, boot into d/l mode, and Reflash, making sure the firmware you are using has a pit file
listen brother, you need to flash a three parts official rom via odin with re-partition checked that's if you can get into download mode but if you cant you have to use a jig to get you into download mode and if it cant either then tell me to give you another method .... by the way I'm Arabian too
Here's my recovery kit, unzip , read the .txt

Samsung Galaxy Ace Original Firmware installing HELP!!!

Hi Guys,
I'm New to this Forum and new to an Android .
I have Samsung galaxy ace , I installed ICS ROM , but before that I didn't do a back-UP to my own firmware
So now i just want to get back into my original firmware , somewhere I read that I can do that Using KIES (original from samsung) , and ODIN .
So can you guys give me a way to get back to Gingerbread 2.3.X , please give me a video or tell me step - by - step how to get back into my Firmware .
Please ! :crying:
(and how to backup all my data , apps, messages, contacts)
Lol, newb
You need to download Odin Multidownloader v4.38
Then get the file "cooper v1.0.ops"
Now that you have downloaded both go to samfirmware and download a firmware for your galaxy ace ( download the latest one)
After it finishes downloadibg, extract the .md5 file and open odin.
Then put the .ops file you downloaded in the .OPS part and select " one package" and choose the .md5 file
Reboot your phone into downloading mode (power buton+ volume down+home button) and plug it to your computer wait till Odin recognises your phone and start flashing.
Make sure your phone is atleast 50% charged
After Odin says its done disconnect from computer and shutdown phone and load into recovery ( if you cant shutdown, simply remove battery) and wipe to factory settibgs and wipe cache. Reboot and you should official stock ROM.
This guide is ver simple and with not many details but there are many guides on the internet.
So please use the search bar before asking.

As you can see, it's a very easy procedure. Also, "downloading mode", as said by Tovagulet, is activated by turning the phone off, and power buton+ volume down+home button.
Good luck
