One thing to keep in mind about the Nexus S, there is no Micro SD card support...

So? is that bad? it has 16gb anyway...

Really up to you. If that's as much as you re willing to spend, id go with the nexus. New is new after all, fresh warranty and your sgs may have other problems you're not still aware and you may end up spending more in the long run.
But that's only true if that's how much you're willing to pay and if you're not planning to get any other phone during the time you'll be stuck with your operator by getting a phone with points (assuming that's how it works there, it is here)
Another thing, updates. nexus is sure to get official updates to ics while we're still hanging for a confirmation from Samsung.
My verdict, nexus.

[Q] Is it worth selling my Nexus?

I was very interested in selling my nexus and before I did I wanted go get my fellow nexus one user's opinion. Why should I keep this phone? I was looking into the evo by sprint. The screen size amazes me. If I was to sell my nexus one how much would I be able to sell it for? What are some good reasons to keeping my nexus one? I love this phone but I have it stuck in my head that there is something better out there. Please convince me not to sell it.
wait for desire HD
If you want to switch carriers that's one thing. But on GSM carriers there really is no worthy upgrade till the G2, but even then... A stock 4" phone is needed, the Galaxy S is is more of a side-grade IMO.
The dev level upgrades are one thing that would make me keep this phone for at least mid way through the next year. I like the fact that Google will upgrade this phones' software for a while at least and we don't have to wait for hacked roms or carrier OTA's.
Hold onto it until the Dell Thunder! I am.

Especially if you have the ATT version. You know ATT nexus is selling for 1500 bucks on ebay right now for sealed brand new ATT nexus one. Wish I bought a few when I had the chance.

On Ebay Canada, used Nexus ones (ATT) are going for $500-1100,
Looking to sell mine for $450, is that a good price?
Definately keeping mine forever. It's more than just a phone.

There´s n better phone out there (for me )...just bigger screen phones, probably better screen, better multitouch...but that´s all just too little to convince me!
After my Nexus One, it has to be a step forward, like having 1.5 or 2 Ghz
A few points I'd like to share with you.
First, the Nexus One being what it is is reason enough not to get rid of it. It is a classic, it is the only HTC device available with vanilla Android and high end hardware, and everything else has some flavor of garbage depending on the manufacturer. It really is the modern day Google phone, their baby, and the device that gets all the updates before everything else.
I typically sell my old phones to pay for most of the cost of my new ones, but with the Nexus One, I'm pretty sure I'm going to use it until it dies and still keep it to remember how great it was after that.
As for switching to Sprint for the Evo, I would also wait until something truly worthy of replacing your Nexus One comes along (and on a better network). The added features of the Evo aren't worth the poor battery life and slower general operation when using it.
For my next upgrade, I'm going to wait for something with a higher-than-WVGA resolution screen, xenon flash, and something that can truly live up to the Nexus One's legacy.
^ Agree...Won't be selling my classic N1 for some time! And will never go to Sprint
if i buy a phone which is from att or tmobile will i be able to use it i m dubai (u.a.e)

[Q] Just planning for the future; any opinions for me?

Well some of you may have read my thread about me swapping for a T-Mo HD2 and then upgrading sometime Q3-4 to a new phone as a "birthday present"
I've just been thinking.....since the SGS looks like its getting some official gingerbread cookies soon (don't like CM7 or MIUI as my phones a 1008, larger risk of me bricking it :/ and its too buggy for daily use for me right now IMO) in a month or two. and darky's bound to base a ROM around it and someones bound to port it over to the captivate.
I'm thinking of not trading for a HD2, but instead after my exams next year, sometime around Feb-April, get a brand new tablet instead......
and then just use my phone for tethering since I'm getting "unlimited" data next month for a very cheap price.....
any thoughts? or should I stick to my previous plan of trading a HD2 and grabbing a new phone Q3-Q4 instead?
thanks

Trade Incredible S for Nexus S

Someone wants to trade me their Nexus S for my HTC Incredible S... Do you guys think I should do it? The only reason I want to is because I can root the Samsung as my Incredible is running the Bell gingerbread update which means I can't. I really want to try the MIUI rom but I am a huge fan of Sense.
Hard decision lol. What do you guys think I should do?
Um... Make your own decision? It's down to personal preference after all. Who knows when someone will find an exploit for that Bell ROM.
One thing I will mention that people often overlook: the Nexus S has no SD card slot. So if you ditch your IS and you have an SD card it'll be useless after the swap.

I am just looking for some feedback if maybe someone has owned a Nexus S and what their honest opinion is.
I had a nexus s and what stands out more is the camera is not as good, front and back nor can it record in hd plus like was said earlier, no SD card. It does have lots of roms though.

My close friend just a nexus s .... I must say that phone feels cheap right away.... I mean there's nothing but plastic.... Incredible s on the other hand gives an impression of substance ... That's my preference... A phone that can last.. plus the camera and dual led flash is a bonus.. something that roms cannot give... Just saying.

Just pony up a few bucks and find your "local" XTC Clip to get hardware S-OFF. I just paid $20 for it as I'm using a VZW unit with Gingerbread and I had no choice, other than waiting for a new exploit.
I agree the Nexus isn't in the same realm as the IS so unless you're getting some cash along with the phone I'd keep the IS, Clip it and flash away.
Yea thanks for the input guys. I decided to hold on to my incredible because I love it .

Advice about getting a phone

Hi!
I'm currently waiting for my SGSII to come back from Samsung, it got bricked almost two months ago...
Now, I have the chance to recover it's price (290 eur) or wait until I get it back
If only nexus 4 were available somehow, I'd get the money and buy the 16Gb model ..... I need some opinion.... what would you people do?
Thanks!!

If you can get your hands on it, buy nexus 4.
If size is not an issue, buy note 2.
If you don't mind waiting, buy s4
For the price, I was thinking about waiting around for nexus 4 8Gb version: I don't want to spend more money... but.... will I have to wait 2 more months? 3 perhaps? That's what's making me doubt: If I knew I would be able to buy it next week, I would wait.. but 2 months... it's something I would have to think about....

I got the S3. I don't know why everbody says it's not a big upgrade. It is IMHO a significant upgrade to the S2. Prices are much more affordable to the note2 and easier to get them the N4.

The price is too much.... I want a device with good specifications but what I mind most is that it should be fully open so the devs can release updates until the hardware gives up.... not until they find a difficulty like an undocumented chipset, having to stay weeks without sound, missing functions... etc etc....

While the nexus 4 is awesome and aosp is awesome, you will not find the custom ROMs to have much variation. On my sensation we had sense and aosp, but on the nexus we have aosp and we might get miui whenever that comes out with 4.2, but that's about it. If you love aosp, go with the nexus. Otherwise get your device with your bloat of choice.

Yes, we know... but there is a slight problem with the stock.... as you know....
If there were no problem with it, many more people would already have it...
The good thing is that people is starting to get a bit smarter:
-They are starting to reject the enslaving carrier contracts offering way overpriced phones in exchange of years of slavery with them
-The search for bloated-free phones.
But what google & LG are doing with the availability of the phone is really unbelievable....
Would suggest waiting for the S4, if you can. The reason is that with the Tegra 4 and Exynos 5 out, it wouldn't take time for the quad chips the current phones have to become a thing of the past. If you want the newest technology then wait. If not, buy a Nexus 4. It's the best money can buy.

I don't want to spend 600 euros on a device.... 300-400 is enough.... over that, I think is overpriced.... it's paying 200 more euro for 400 mhz more.... in the end.. I think it's not worth it.... unless you are a tech geek that needs to have the latest device.
I prefer something more modest but efficient..... A SGSII is fine nowadays: All the daily use apps work and it has the latest CM available....
If you want to play games with your device, it's another story... then, it's mandatory to look into which graphic chipset is built into the device and so......
People talk about nexus 4 as if it were so easy to get your hands on one.... here in spain it has been sold out like since always.... and, as I can read, there is little hope of getting one in the next weeks..... so, what am I supposed to do, hang on to my galaxy spica (it's my emergency/replacement phone) until the end of 2013? :crying:

[Q] Is it worth it?

Hi, hope I don't get flamed if this is in the wrong thread, if so, my apologies.
I used to own a Galaxy S captivate (AT&T) when it was first released. A year later I sold itto purchased the S2. I have the opportunity to pick up another Captivate for $45 and wondered if it would even be worth it.
I've been far removed from these threads and wanted to know the opinion of other captivate owners here. It'll probably be a spare for me to flash or am considering upgrading my daughters phone with this one.
your feedback is greatly appreciated.
