Not gonna happen, it relies on Htc's closed-source frameworks- thus only Sense based roms can use it (and older ones at that)
p.s. Post in the correct section next time

A mod will move it when they see it.
HTC wouldnt open source it unless they want it to be copied by other people which would be bad for business. The you would have hero widgets running on the liquid or droid and you get my point.
Hey Guys I put together a Q&A thread for this rom to prevent tons of new threads about rom Spicific questions from new users.. Please feel free to post any questions here.
As Aslways there is no Flaming, name calling or the such.
No question is too noobish, But please look for your answer first.
Now for the info needed to help. In your post make sure to included the version of the rom you are using, modem, kernel, ext...
Also please give it some time for your question to be answered.

This thread is for issues related to the rom. Likes and dislikes are user based and will not do any good as for what to expect and all custom roms are a best for you type of thing. I could say that I like this this and this about the rom but some one else would say that they dont like the same things. See my point? Each rom has an outline for the rom in the first post.
Love the rom. I'm on 2.1 and have noticed my camera won't work, just FCs. Extracted some old phoenix and SN roms I had on my phone and tried to copy the .apk and camera firmware into system/app using root explorer and reboot. No luck. Any ideas? I would prefer not to reflash.
Thanks in advance.

In addition to the point that each user/device could respond differently to the ROM/Modem/Kernel. The 3 of us could be running identical setup's and all have very different experiences

Just wanted to say thanks for starting this thread. As a noob it's nice to have a way to communicate until you reach your post count.
I am running;
Rom: super nova 2.1
Kernel: speedmod-k13b-500hz #54
Baseband version: i9000ugjk4
The problems I am experiencing aren't a major deal, just thought I would mention them.
1. When I am connected to wifi and try and use the Facebook app I get a connection timeout message. While using at&t data I don't.
2. I get a FC when trying to open the Fox News app.
Enjoying Adams and teams work, thanks.

Try restoring the stock email.apk that came with the rom, no idea why they're tied together but they are.
As for FCing on the Fox News app, I got that too and just uninstalled it, not sure why it was doing that.

SN 2.3
Has anyone checked their "About Phone" info under the settings after flashing the 2.3 download and still see their "Build number" as Supernova 2.1??
Shouldn't this be 2.3 instead of 2.1 or was the revision number suppose to stay the same this update?

Have not had an issue with gmail at all. Are you restoring anything before trying it? Did you do a stock flash and master clear and then load the rom?

Thank you for letting me know. I went through a few pages, but I must have not looked at early enough postings to see anyone comment about it.
I could tell the update took effect when the kernal was updated to Speedmod and some other graphical difference when flashing from 2.1, but just wanted to make sure.
Also, does anyone know where to grab the 2.1 ringtones from the zip file? There was a nice one in there that I'd like to get back.
Thanks in advance

I am on 2.3 and this is my favourite one so far. Really enjoy the Phoenix team roms. With other roms I have noticed that when you touch the screen the soft home keys do not light up. If you touch the keys themselves they light up for only 3 seconds. I found I had to use an app/widget called keep the lights on for that issue. With this rom however, the soft keys work perfect. If I touch anywhere on the screen they light up for 10 seconds or more just like my stock did.
If I ever check out another Rom is there something I could import from this to keep that great feature? I don't think I will be flashing for a while after this one. But once flashaholism sets in sometimes I have no choice...lol

Thinking About Migrating
Hello all, I've been a loyal Perception user since I purchased my Captivate and tried out several of the active ROMs. I've started to look for a new ROM since DG announced that the Perception line was defunct. I have a few questions regarding Supernova:
1) Are there other themes, loaded stock, with the ROM. The black one from the screenshot isn't really my style.
2) Does this ROM include the three-button fix? My phone is one of the unlucky few that cannot boot to recovery mode via button holding.
3) For those of you who have flashed many a ROM and decided to use Supernova, what do you like about it best? Why did you select this ROM over the others available?

1) Yes there are other themes, I am currently running SN JS5 version and using Nunhugger's Absolution:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10254722&postcount=5
at this point, it appears most JPY/JS5 themes will work with any JPY/JK3/JS5 ROMS
2) My phone also does not have 3 button. But it has the extended power menu, long press on the power button gives you the option to boot to Download, Recovery, Reboot, etc.
3) Honestly, I move between Phoenix, Supernova, and FireFly. Adam and Team have a level of detail I havent seen around, but the big part is the support. There is NO flaming on his threads, so people arent affraid to ask question if they cant figure something out. They are all solid ROM's very stable, very well put together. In the end I couldnt tell you one of them is better than the other, just a little bit different
it's a long way to go.my captive's screen is so cool.
Hello all.
This is my very first post here. So, first of all I want to say many thanks to all developers/members on this forum. Big thanks for sharing knowledge, for doing great investigations and so on.
And right now... questions...
I recently bought Sony Xperia X8. This is my first Android device (I helped my friends with these ones, but just to reflash using manufacturer steps, or configuring devices, not customizing) with which I can do anything I want. I read a lot information about this device and need to clear some things... So, lets start:
(Just for note: I 'm an experienced linux programmer/developer/user, so I have a lot of experience and need just some specific things)
1. What is bootloader in meaning of specific device. Is this something like plain Grub, but just hardware-related? Or it is something like BIOS in PCs meaning?
2. What does ROM file contains? Is that just list of packages and platform-related things excluding kernel, loader and etc, or ROMs contains kernel also? I saw post where someone said "I use xxxx kernel with xxxx ROM", and another post where someone said "This ROM contains xxx kernel". What is the right one?
3. I saw three types of flashes around the forum: "ftf", "sin" and "img". What is the difference between them? Which ones are better (prefferable)?
4. All ROMs which I tried have same issue: Reboot while using ad-hoc wi-fi and activating lockscreen (trying wipes, formating, flash from stock). Can someone, who used stable version of "Cyanogen Mod 7.1.0 stable" confirm is this bug fixed here or not? WiFi is very important for me, especially ad-hoc. (I just want to wait some time 2~3 weeks to see if device working fine and no any defects occur, before I void my warranty by unlocking bootloader)
5. I saw a lot of reviews for different ROMs so I can't just choose one... Maybe someone will suggest me some stable ROM with 100% working wifi based on 2.2 (or 2.3)
Any comments/advices/explanations are greatly appreciated.
P.S. Sorry me for my bad english, I'm originally from Ukraine.

i'm newbie too in this forum, maybe you must search all answer of your qustion in general forum not in subforum here or try to go to cyanogen forum.
just sugestion,i sugest you to use froyobread rom or froyopro i (2.2.x both) if you want wifi work good in your device ( cause there any wifi bugs in other rom's,actually in 2.3.x rom).
The bootloader it can be locked again

Yes, I know, but if subject will die during using custom ROM because of some factory defects (believe me, today quality of products is very low level, especially here, in Ukraine) can be situation when I will not be able to return to stock firmware. Anyway, thanks... and still waiting for some explanations.

Hmm, I have same issues with the wifi even on 2.2 froyo pro, floyo and others, so I thinking about custom kernels, just need to someone confirm what it will solve problem.
By the way, I got questions which I posted here during search forum, so there aren't answers which I need. I really need some technical details about that. Maybe I will be able to help developers with some improvements. Just need to know more about android (coz I have a lot of linux experience - building linux from scratch, optimization, developing, debugging, etc)
Thanks anyway for your attention.
P.S. Offtop... What do I need to do so moderators will permit me to post in <5 min? Coz now working a restrictions for newbies.

1. The bootloader is a special software, that is loaded by the firmware and loads the kernel itself.
This doesn´t only exists on Android, every OS has a bootloader.
2. The ROMs and the kernels are different to flash, the only ROm that "includes" a kernel is the official Android 2.1, which can be flashed with flashtool.
What flashtool is, and what you can do with it, can be read in the X8 FAQ-thread.
3. have a look at the FAQ-thread again....you will find something.
4. GingerDX should have working ad-hoc Wi-Fi, as this is also inportant for DX, especially on WEP.
CM 7.1.0 is still under development, as it´s based on the FXP ROM.
5.I´d suggest you GingerDX+LinuxDX, this combination is smooth like a baby´s ass and as fast as hell!
And everything is working!(Well, maybe there are some bugs, but I´m using this for a few months now and I didn´t found anything that does absolutely NOT work.

I know what is bootloader. I asked is the bootloader in the current context something like software thing (GRUB, LILO, NTLDR, bootrecord if you want) OR it is something like hardware-specific BIOS alternative? This is the question.

Hi
I`m also have WiFi problems with Froyo Pro v1 and v1.1.
Froyobread 23b works fine.
Looking for a 2.2 rom still in developmen with a working WiFi!!!!
i recently flashed Faux123's M7 (UV/Intelliplug/dfsync/FauxSound/s2w/Hybrid Linux 3.4+) [May-25] Kernel using TWRP. Now after checking everything else out, everything is in full working order except the Camera's. This is extremely upsetting because although I've been in the android modding scene for nearly a year now, ive never encountered this problem, nor do i know what to do. If anyone can offer help or links to help, I'd appreciate it very much. Thank You in advance.

Are you trying to run a custom kernel on a stock ROM? If so, there's might be your problem. Further, stop doing that--it's a very bad idea.

Yeah I am. Any stable custom ROMs you suggest for me to try? And supposedly it was only changing the Liboemcamera.so file or something like that. It doesn't matter though. I figured out that restoring it to a backup I made before I flashed the kernel fixed it. But now I have the problem I did before, with not being able to OC or especially UV and Fast Charge. As you know, this phones battery dies fast, and in the short time I was using Faux's kernel with UV/FC its battery life already had drastic improvements. So, can you help me get something stable like that?

Honestly, I'm surprised your phone booted without an issue. I've seen other folks who've flashed custom kernels on stock ROMs and be stuck in bootloops from hell.
TrickDroid and ARHD are both fantastic and I've frequently used both. They're also both running on Android 4.2.2, so they're the absolute latest you can get. ARHD focuses on refining and bettering the stock experience as much as possible without much changes. TrickDroid also has a stock look, but it lets you customize things a little more like the battery icon, clock location, etc. It's more your typical custom ROM, but it's not typical in it's awesomeness.
Thank god I'm so lucky. I never saw these problems in the forums for the kernels... No warnings, no instructions. I just followed the ones I remembered from my flashing days with the GS3.
I can find both of those on the forums, correct? And which do you prefer as a daily driver? Which one can I keep until stable CM10.1 comes out? Or maybe might want to keep even past that?

I bounce between these forums and the AT&T One forums trying to help folks out so I'm not sure where I first started seeing the stock ROM/custom kernel issues. Also I may spend too much time on these forums... >_>
Regardless, I'm a flashaholic. I swapped between ARHD and TrickDroid quite regularly. ARHD seems to be updated a lot quicker, probably due to the fact that it's tweaked less than TrickDroid. The fact that Mike has been around forever too probably helps. I don't know Torxx's work quite as well. That being said, I prefer TrickDroid over ARHD because of a couple tweaks that I like such as SMS screen on, center clock, and replacing the battery icon with a numbered percentage. Not sure if those tweaks are in yet, though, since the change to 4.2.2
Just a head's up on the AOSP front, there's been alot of reports that AOSP-based ROMs are having issues with the camera. Not that it isn't working mind you but that it's taking absolutely absymal shots. This is likely because HTC baked in some software magic to improve the the image quality and those features are missing from AOSP. I wouldn't use an AOSP ROM as my daily driver until the HTC One Google Edition has been released and hopefully it will have that software magic. Figured you'd like to know since the title of this thread is regarding the camera. :
Alrite well, cool. I think I'll check out ARHD tomorrow when I get home from finals. And thanks for the foresight on the AOSP, I doubt that I would've thought of that before hand. Don't wanna lose this camera, its beautiful. xD Anyways, I'll PM you tomorrow with an update on how that ROM works out or if I have questions before hand. I need a cam fix for this rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=40819216&postcount=2
My details:
Android-Version: 4.1.2
HTC Sense: 5.0
Software: 1.29.401.16
Kernel: 3.4.10
Camera not working
Same here, bit new to this whole ROM thing, but basically I need full OTG support on my HTC One - So I can use DroidPlanner and my USB stick that talks to my Quadcopter - if I plug it in with the stock HTC, it pops up with "unsupported device. Now using the 4.0 rom you linked too and the OTG works fine, but now the camera just shows as a black screen... My HTC One (International) has software version 1.29.980.17 . not sure if that's the problem?

From what i understand, OTG is based on kernel, not ROM. And this is definitely not the thread to post this on. Use Tbaldens kernel for sense or GE, and thatll be your best bet.

Yes I'm running - teaMseven_kernel_SENSE 4.0 . The OTG is working fine with this kernel (sorry got ROM and kernel mixed up).
I tried to post a reply to that thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2255160 , but get this stupid message below and as you will see it clearly tells me to ask about this in the General Q&A, so i'm pretty sure I'm in the right place to ask about "HTC One camera not working"?

I had a problem with my S4 Active i9295.
When I rooted the Stock ROM and installed CWM, I flashed the superb [AOSP][Port]★I9295★ Official 4.2.2 - S4 Google Edition - Feel the Experience of Nexus
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2406177
And I had no Wifi... then I found that the solution could be Flashing this ROM using ODIN and then Rooting and Installing CWM again and then Flashing the Custom ROM again.

That is just what Darkman sayd: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=45014751&postcount=42
Why am I creating this Thread?
It may not be so easy to find the above stock ROM, I could only Download from Hotfile and a very slow speed, so I took the freedom to upload it to Mediafire for other users having the same problem, that can be very stressful.
And I think this Thread may help new users that are a little bit lazy like I am some times... Or am.

I already had the download but I couldn't make the wi-fi work whatever I did, but following your simple explanation of the sequence worked fist time.
Now I am totally Samsung free and enjoying the pure android experience. Everything runs lightning fast.
